Robby Snelling
Robby Snelling Looking at May/June season debut
Tue, Sep 29, 2026, 11:23 AM
Marlins president of baseball operations Peter Bendix said Tuesday that Snelling (elbow) is expected to be throwing off a mound during spring training and should be game-ready by May or June, Isaac Azout of FishOnFirst.com reports.
Analysis: Snelling required an internal brace surgery in May to repair a UCL tear in his left elbow. The recovery time for that type of procedure is shorter than that of a Tommy John rehab, giving Snelling a chance to contribute to the Marlins at some point before the All-Star break next season. The left-hander yielded three runs in five innings in his major-league debut in 2026, and he's been dominant at Triple-A Jacksonville the last two seasons while pitching to a 1.46 ERA and 132:33 K:BB over 98.2 frames.
Adam Mazur
Adam Mazur Game-ready by April/May
Tue, Sep 29, 2026, 11:17 AM
Marlins president of baseball operations Peter Bendix said Tuesday that Mazur (elbow) should be ready to pitch in games by April or May of next season, Isaac Azout of FishOnFirst.com reports.
Analysis: Mazur underwent UCL reconstruction surgery with an internal brace in March. He had been tentatively expected to begin a throwing program in September, though it's unclear whether he's checked that box yet. Mazur might not be an option for the Marlins until around midseason in 2027, as he'll likely require time in the minors to knock the rust off.
Tyler Zuber
Tyler Zuber Visiting doctor about elbow
Tue, Sep 29, 2026, 10:47 AM
Zuber (elbow) is slated to visit Dr. Keith Meister, Isaac Azout of FishOnFirst.com reports.
Analysis: Zuber was diagnosed with a right elbow sprain in mid-September, and he'll be examined soon in hopes of gaining further clarity. UCL surgery is a possibility with this type of injury, but it's uncertain at this point whether an operation is likely.
Jakob Marsee
Jakob Marsee Having sore elbow examined
Tue, Sep 29, 2026, 10:24 AM
Marlins president of baseball operations Peter Bendix said Tuesday that Marsee will visit Dr. Keith Meister after dealing with left elbow soreness down the stretch of the regular season, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.
Analysis: It's unclear how long Marsee's elbow has been bothering him, but more will be known about his status following his visit with Dr. Meister. Marsee did not show signs of being hurt in September, slashing .342/.441/.544 with three home runs and a 10:14 BB:K.
Activated from IL
Mon, Sep 28, 2026, 8:03 PM
Arquette (undisclosed) was activated from the 7-day injured list Sept. 21.
Analysis: Arquette missed the last few games of the 2026 season on the shelf. However, he managed to avoid a significant injury and will go into the offseason healthy.
Heriberto Hernandez
Heriberto Hernandez Blasts 25th homer
Sun, Sep 27, 2026, 9:08 PM
Hernandez went 2-for-4 with a solo home run, a double and an additional run scored in Sunday's 5-3 win over Atlanta.
Analysis: Hernandez hammered a center-cut changeup to left-center field in the fourth inning for his 25th homer of the campaign. The outfielder snapped a 17-game drought with that long ball, as his previous homer came Sept. 6 against the Cubs. With the Marlins' season officially over, Hernandez will close 2026 with a .228/.313/.442 slash line, 25 homers, 67 RBI, 51 runs and 13 stolen bases across 130 games.
Sandy Alcantara
Sandy Alcantara Secures third save
Sun, Sep 27, 2026, 9:03 PM
Alcantara picked up the save in Sunday's 5-3 win over Atlanta. He allowed no hits or walks while striking out one over an inning.
Analysis: With Miami opting against having him make one last start over the weekend, Alcantara was deployed as a reliever for the third time this season in Sunday's regular-season finale. The veteran right-hander was able to work through a leadoff error and retire the next three batters in order to secure his third save. Alcantara will end the campaign with a major-league-leading 214 innings, posting a 13-11 record with a 3.87 ERA, 1.23 WHIP and 153:59 K:BB across 36 appearances.
Janson Junk
Janson Junk Logs 4.2 innings in no-decision
Sun, Sep 27, 2026, 8:50 PM
Junk did not factor into the decision Sunday, allowing one run on three hits and a walk over 4.2 innings in a 5-3 win over Atlanta. He struck out five.
Analysis: Junk's lone blemish was a solo homer surrendered to Mauricio Dubon in the third inning, and the right-hander departed at 64 pitches (44 strikes) after 4.2 frames. The right-handed hurler posted a 4.79 ERA, 1.26 WHIP and 19:5 K:BB across 20.1 innings (five starts) in September. He'll close the 2026 campaign with a 6-9 record, 4.22 ERA, 1.29 WHIP and 89:33 K:BB over 123.2 innings (26 appearances).
Otto Lopez
Otto Lopez Exiting starting nine
Sun, Sep 27, 2026, 12:08 PM
Lopez is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against Atlanta.
Analysis: The Marlins are resting several everyday players during Sunday's regular-season finale. Assuming he doesn't appear off the bench Sunday, Lopez will finish his excellent 2026 campaign having slashed .305/.349/.437 with 11 home runs and 34 stolen bases. Javier Sanoja is handling shortstop for the Marlins on Sunday.
Joe Mack
Joe Mack Taking seat Sunday
Sun, Sep 27, 2026, 12:05 PM
Mack is absent from the lineup for Sunday's game versus Atlanta.
Analysis: Mack will yield to Brian Navarreto at catcher for the regular-season finale. The rookie backstop will finish his first big-league season having slashed .234/.282/.403 with 14 home runs across 105 contests.
Kyle Stowers
Kyle Stowers Remains out Sunday
Sun, Sep 27, 2026, 12:03 PM
Stowers (abdomen) remains out of the lineup for Sunday's contest versus Atlanta.
Analysis: Stowers will finish the regular season having been held out of the lineup for the final four games due to an abdominal injury, though he did appear once as a pinch hitter during that span. It's not an injury that should linger too far into the offseason for Stowers, who finishes with a .239/.331/.459 batting line and 21 home runs in 2026.
Bradley Blalock
Bradley Blalock Ineffective in long relief
Sat, Sep 26, 2026, 6:02 PM
Blalock took a no-decision Saturday against Atlanta, striking out three while allowing two runs on two hits and one walk in 3.1 relief innings.
Analysis: With the Marlins going with a bullpen game Saturday, Blalock ate some innings as the bulk reliever but wasn't particularly effective. The right-hander has pitched fewer than four frames in all four big-league outings this year, turning in a lone scoreless appearance. He's wrapping up the campaign with a 5.56 ERA, 1.32 WHIP and 12:4 K:BB over 11.1 innings for Miami.
Jack Ralston
Jack Ralston Drawing start in bullpen game
Sat, Sep 26, 2026, 2:29 PM
Ralston will start Saturday's game against Atlanta in Miami, Kevin Barral of FishonFirst.com reports.
Analysis: The 29-year-old rookie right-hander will be making his first MLB start and his first start at any level of the professional ranks since 2022. Between his stops with Miami and Triple-A Jacksonville this season, Ralston hasn't tossed more than three innings in any outing, so he's unlikely to work more than once through the batting order Saturday before turning the game over to the Marlins bullpen.
Kyle Stowers
Kyle Stowers Battling abdominal injury
Sat, Sep 26, 2026, 12:58 PM
Stowers isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against Atlanta due to an abdominal injury, Daniel Alvarez-Montes of ElExtraBase.com reports.
Analysis: Saturday will mark the third consecutive game that Stowers hasn't started as he battles abdominal pain, and with the Marlins' season set to end Sunday, the team may decide to keep him out as a precaution. Stowers' absence Saturday will allow Deyvison De Los Santos to start at first base.
Xavier Edwards
Xavier Edwards Out again Saturday
Sat, Sep 26, 2026, 11:55 AM
Edwards (thumb) isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against Atlanta.
Analysis: Edwards will miss a sixth consecutive game Saturday as he continues to recover from a thumb injury he aggravated last week. Jared Serna will start at second base again and bat ninth; meanwhile, Edwards will have just one more opportunity to play again this year before the season ends Sunday.
Griffin Conine
Griffin Conine Goes deep in win
Fri, Sep 25, 2026, 9:09 PM
Conine went 2-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk in Friday's 3-0 win over Atlanta.
Analysis: Conine provided some late insurance with a 402-foot blast in the eighth inning. The 29-year-old is looking to finish strong, having homered three times over his past nine games. On the season, he's slashing .261/.352/.486 with 18 home runs, 41 RBI, 44 runs scored and four steals across 315 plate appearances.
Eury Perez
Eury Perez Finishes strong with one-hit shutout
Fri, Sep 25, 2026, 9:00 PM
Perez (8-11) earned the win against Atlanta on Friday, allowing one hit and one walk while striking out eight over nine scoreless innings.
Analysis: Perez was spectacular, allowing just a single in the sixth inning while racking up 17 swinging strikes on 105 pitches en route to his first career complete-game shutout. It marked a strong finish to a tumultuous second half in which the 23-year-old had yielded five earned runs or more in four of his previous five starts. He'll conclude the season with a 3.91 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and 170:68 K:BB across a career-high 159 innings.
Wikelman Gonzalez
Wikelman Gonzalez Up from Jacksonville
Fri, Sep 25, 2026, 6:11 PM
The Marlins recalled Gonzalez from Triple-A Jacksonville on Friday.
Analysis: With Tyler Zuber (elbow) landing on the injured list Friday, Gonzalez will come up from the minors to help Miami's bullpen get through the team's final series of the season. The 24-year-old hasn't appeared in an MLB game this year and carries a 5.94 ERA and 1.73 WHIP in 36.1 innings at Triple-A, so he'll almost certainly be reserved for low-leverage work.
Tyler Zuber
Tyler Zuber Lands on IL
Fri, Sep 25, 2026, 6:08 PM
The Marlins placed Zuber on the 15-day injured list Friday with a sprained right elbow.
Analysis: Zuber made his last appearance Tuesday, pitching a scoreless inning against the Cubs, and he'll now be shut down for the season because of his elbow injury. He'll finish 2026 with a 5.67 ERA and 1.44 WHIP through 39.2 innings. Wikelman Gonzalez was recalled from Triple-A Jacksonville in a corresponding move.
Xavier Edwards
Xavier Edwards Held out of action again Friday
Fri, Sep 25, 2026, 3:58 PM
Edwards (thumb) remains out of the lineup for Friday's game versus Atlanta.
Analysis: It's the fifth straight absence for Edwards, who aggravated his left thumb injury last week. The Marlins have resisted putting Edwards back on the injured list, but it seems unlikely at this point that he'll return before the curtains close on the regular season. Jared Serna is getting another start at second base Friday in Edwards' stead.
