Logan Webb
Logan Webb Rebounds in second start
Wed, Apr 1, 2026, 2:20 AM
Webb (1-1) earned the win over San Diego on Tuesday, tossing six innings during which he allowed three runs on three hits and four walks while striking out five batters.
Analysis: After Webb gave up seven runs (six earned) over five innings in an Opening Day loss to the Yankees, Tuesday's quality start was much more in line with what Giants fans (and fantasy managers) have come to expect from the team's ace. Still, it was far from a flawless outing, as the right-hander issued four free passes -- as many as he yielded in any game last season. Webb handed out just one walk in his ugly first start, so his mild wildness against the Padres probably isn't cause for concern, especially given the overall outcome. He's tentatively slated to next take the mound at home against the Mets.
Logan Gilbert
Logan Gilbert Yields five runs in loss
Wed, Apr 1, 2026, 2:11 AM
Gilbert (0-1) took the loss against the Yankees on Tuesday, allowing five runs on seven hits and three walks while striking out six batters over 5.1 innings.
Analysis: Gilbert retired the first two batters he faced Tuesday, but three straight Yankees hits resulted in a pair of first-inning runs. The right-hander proceeded through the next four frames without falling further behind, but he imploded in the sixth, allowing four of the five batters he faced in that inning to reach base (on two doubles, a single and a walk) before being pulled. Overall, Gilbert threw just 54 of 95 pitches for strikes, and his three walks tied the most he recorded in any game last season. Gilbert did rack up 14 whiffs and now has 13 punchouts across 10.2 innings on the campaign, but he's also carrying a 6.75 ERA and 1.41 WHIP through two starts.
Max Fried
Max Fried Unscored upon through two starts
Wed, Apr 1, 2026, 2:01 AM
Fried (2-0) earned the win over Seattle on Tuesday, allowing three hits and issuing one walk while striking out six batters over seven scoreless innings.
Analysis: Fried was very sharp in his second start of the campaign, throwing 60 of 90 pitches for strikes and allowing a mere three hits (all singles). The star hurler has begun the regular season with 13.1 scoreless frames and a pair of quality starts, both of which resulted in victories. Fried will look to keep rolling in his next appearance, which tentatively lines up to take place at home against Miami this weekend.
Jake Bauers
Jake Bauers Goes deep in win
Tue, Mar 31, 2026, 11:21 PM
Bauers went 2-for-4 with a solo home run, a steal and an additional run scored in Tuesday's 6-2 win versus the Rays.
Analysis: The 30-year-old got the start Tuesday even though Tampa Bay sent out a southpaw in Shane McClanahan, whom the lefty-hitting Bauers went 0-for-2 against. The first baseman got back on track once the Rays turned to the bullpen, however, as he reached on an infield single, stole second and scored in the sixth inning before launching a solo homer in the eighth. With Andrew Vaughn (wrist) expected to be sidelined until mid-May after undergoing hamate bone surgery, Bauers should be a lineup regular for the near future, especially if he can build upon his hot start to 2026.
Brandon Woodruff
Brandon Woodruff Notches win in season debut
Tue, Mar 31, 2026, 11:10 PM
Woodruff (1-0) earned the win Tuesday versus the Rays, allowing two runs on four hits and no walks across five innings. He struck out six.
Analysis: Woodruff was brought along slowly during spring training after finishing last season on the injured list due to a lat strain, and he was pulled after five frames and just 67 pitches (45 strikes) in his season debut Tuesday. The 33-year-old righty was able to work efficiently and pick up the win, with the only damage against him coming via a pair of solo home runs. Woodruff averaged 93.1 mph with his fastball, which a couple ticks lower than he averaged prior to his 2023 shoulder surgery but is in line with what he posted in 12 starts during the 2025 regular season. He's likely to make his next start on the road in Boston early next week.
Shane McClanahan
Shane McClanahan Takes loss in first start since '23
Tue, Mar 31, 2026, 11:00 PM
McClanahan (0-1) took the loss Tuesday, allowing three runs (two earned) on two hits and three walks over 4.2 innings against Milwaukee. He struck out four.
Analysis: The left-hander took an MLB mound Tuesday for the first time since August of 2023 after missing the past two seasons while recovering from Tommy John surgery and a subsequent nerve issue. McClanahan kept the Brewers off the board through four frames but was unable to escape the fifth, giving up three runs on two hits, two walks and an error. The 28-year-old threw 50 of 79 pitches for strikes and averaged 95.4 mph with his fastball, which is a tick slower than his 2023 velocity but is still an encouraging figure in his first start back, especially given that he topped out at 97.4 mph. A home matchup with the Cubs is likely on deck for McClanahan early next week.
Tanner Banks
Tanner Banks Manages first hold Tuesday
Tue, Mar 31, 2026, 10:50 PM
Banks (0-1) picked up a hold Tuesday versus the Nationals, allowing one run on three hits and no walks in 1.2 innings.
Analysis: The Phillies were working with a three-run lead when Banks entered, so Banks was able to hang on for his first hold of the season. The southpaw had a relatively long leash against a lefty-heavy Washington lineup, tossing 37 pitches Tuesday, which suggests Philadelphia is comfortable assigning Banks to record more than three outs if the situation calls for it.
Brayan Bello
Brayan Bello Roughed up in first start of 2026
Tue, Mar 31, 2026, 10:47 PM
Bello (0-1) took the loss against the Astros on Tuesday, allowing six runs (five earned) on eight hits and three walks while striking out two across 4.2 innings.
Analysis: Bello pitched to a 5.65 ERA during spring training, and things didn't get any better in his first regular-season start. Yordan Alvarez took Bello deep in the fifth inning, and four of the next five Astros reached base to bounce Bello from the game. Bello turned in a career-best 3.35 ERA across 29 starts last regular season, but his 4.19 FIP suggested it was a bit of a fluke. Bello will need to pitch better to hold off other starting candidates Johan Oviedo, Kutter Crawford (wrist) and Patrick Sandoval (elbow) once everyone is healthy. Bello's next start is scheduled for Monday against the Brewers.
Yennier Cano
Yennier Cano Charged with loss Tuesday
Tue, Mar 31, 2026, 10:44 PM
Cano (0-1) took the loss Tuesday versus the Rangers, allowing one run on two hits and no walks in the sixth inning.
Analysis: Cano had given the Orioles a pair of scoreless outing during the club's opening series against the Twins, but he gave up his first run of the season Tuesday. The right-hander pitched fairly well during the spring to make Baltimore's Opening Day bullpen, posting a 3.86 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and 6:0 K:BB over seven Grapefruit League innings, but Cano could fall into a middle-relief role once Andrew Kittredge (shoulder) and Keegan Akin (groin) are ready to return.
Cam Smith
Cam Smith Hits first home run of season
Tue, Mar 31, 2026, 10:40 PM
Smith went 2-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk in Tuesday's 9-2 win over the Red Sox.
Analysis: Smith took Jovani Moran deep in the seventh inning for his first home run of the season. Smith entered play Tuesday with just two hits in 21 trips to the plate, but he's now reached base five times over the last two games and has drawn five walks in six games this season after walking just 8.7 percent of the time in 2025. Smith is competing for at-bats with Jake Meyers, Joey Loperfido and Brice Matthews in the Houston outfield, but the Astros want Smith to take hold of right field.
Yordan Alvarez
Yordan Alvarez Smacks third homer in win
Tue, Mar 31, 2026, 10:31 PM
Alvarez went 2-for-3 with a solo home run, two RBI, two runs scored and a walk in Tuesday's 9-2 win over the Red Sox.
Analysis: Alvarez has now homered in back-to-back games after taking Brayan Bello deep in the fifth inning. He previously drove home Jeremy Pena with an RBI double in the first inning against Bello. Coming off an injury-plagued 2025 season, Alvarez looks back to his normal self in the early going this season, slashing .381/.536/.905 with three home runs, six RBI, six runs scored and a 6:4 BB:K across 28 plate appearances.
Hunter Brown
Hunter Brown Strikes out eight in win Tuesday
Tue, Mar 31, 2026, 10:24 PM
Brown (1-0) earned the win against the Red Sox on Tuesday, allowing one run on one hit and two walks while striking out eight across six innings.
Analysis: After throwing 102 pitches across 4.2 innings Thursday against the Angels, Brown made quick work of the Boston lineup Tuesday and was pulled after 78 pitches with a 6-1 lead. Brown looks like he's ready to take another step forward in his fourth full season at the big-league level. Through two starts and 10.2 innings, Brown has 17 strikeouts and a 0.84 ERA. Brown is next scheduled to take the mound Monday against the Rockies at Coors Field.
Chase DeLauter
Chase DeLauter X-rays negative
Tue, Mar 31, 2026, 10:21 PM
X-rays on DeLauter's left foot came back negative after his removal from Tuesday's game against the Dodgers, Paul Hoynes of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.
Analysis: DeLauter had to leave Tuesday's contest after fouling a ball off his foot in the first inning, but he appears to have escaped the incident with nothing more than a bruise. The Guardians may leave the rookie outfielder out of the starting nine for a day or two as a precaution, but a trip to the injured list likely won't be necessary. Angel Martinez and Daniel Schneemann would be next in line to start in the outfield during any games that DeLauter might miss.
Jameson Taillon
Jameson Taillon Struggles with walks in first start
Tue, Mar 31, 2026, 10:15 PM
Taillon did not factor into Tuesday's decision against the Angels. He pitched 4.2 shutout innings, allowing two hits and four walks while striking out three.
Analysis: Making his first start of the season, Taillon threw 85 pitches and uncharacteristically struggled with walks after walking just 1.87 batters per nine innings during the 2025 campaign. Taillon's fastball velocity was also down at 90.8 mph after averaging 92.3 mph last season. Taillon's next start is lined up for Monday in Tampa Bay.
Jordan Romano
Jordan Romano Picks up second save Tuesday
Tue, Mar 31, 2026, 10:08 PM
Romano earned the save in Tuesday's 2-0 win over the Cubs, logging a strikeout and a walk in two-thirds of an inning.
Analysis: Romano could start running away with the Angels' closer gig if he keeps this up while Kirby Yates (knee) and Robert Stephenson (elbow) are on the shelf. Romano had a nightmare 2025 campaign with the Phillies, registering an 8.23 ERA across 49 regular-season appearances, but inked a one-year deal with the Angels over the winter. He's now thrown 2.2 scoreless innings with four strikeouts across three appearances this season, going 2-for-2 on save chances. Romano should be added where available in fantasy.
Jose Soriano
Jose Soriano Blanks Cubs over six innings
Tue, Mar 31, 2026, 9:59 PM
Soriano (2-0) picked up the win against the Cubs on Tuesday. He pitched six shutout innings, allowing two hits and two walks while striking out four.
Analysis: On a windy, chilly night at Wrigley Field, Soriano breezed through the Chicago lineup to pick up his second win in as many starts to begin the 2026 campaign. Soriano has looked great through two starts, tossing 12 combined shutout innings against the Astros and Cubs, surrendering a total of four hits and six walks. The walks are still an issue for the right-hander, but he's done a great job of mixing his five pitches. Soriano is scheduled to take the mound again Monday at home against Atlanta.
Phil Maton
Phil Maton Takes first loss Tuesday
Tue, Mar 31, 2026, 9:56 PM
Maton (0-1) allowed two runs on two hits while retiring two batters in relief to take the loss Tuesday against the Angels. He walked two and struck out one.
Analysis: Maton struggled in the sixth inning and ended up taking his first loss with his new team in a 2-0 defeat. The veteran righty looked much sharper across two scoreless appearances to start the season, and after posting a 2.79 ERA in 61.1 innings for the Cardinals and Rangers last year, there's no reason to believe this will be anything more than a blip on the radar. Maton should continue to serve as a key setup option in front of closer Daniel Palencia.
Ben Brown
Ben Brown Strong in relief Tuesday
Tue, Mar 31, 2026, 9:48 PM
Brown tossed 3.1 scoreless innings of relief in Tuesday's 2-0 loss to the Angels. He allowed a hit and a walk, while striking out five.
Analysis: Brown finished up the game for the Cubs, and he did enough to keep his team in the contest late but couldn't get any run support to potentially earn his first win of the year. The righty reliever has now covered exactly 3.1 innings in each of his two relief outings so far this season, and he's allowed two runs while striking out eight. Brown can rack up strikeouts in a hurry, which would make him someone worth keeping an eye on if he ever did slide into Chicago's rotation. For now, he's mostly off the fantasy radar as a long reliever.
Kodai Senga
Kodai Senga Strikes out nine in first start
Tue, Mar 31, 2026, 9:44 PM
Senga (0-1) took the loss against the Cardinals on Tuesday, allowing two runs on four hits and three walks while striking out nine across six innings.
Analysis: Senga's stuff looked good, and his increased fastball velocity carried over from the spring. After sitting at 94.7 mph with his fastball last season, Senga's four-seamer averaged 97.4 mph against St. Louis on Tuesday. He also generated 17 whiffs on 92 total pitches, but walks remained an issue for the right-hander after he walked 4.37 batters per nine innings in 2025. The third inning proved to be the difference for Senga on Tuesday, as he gave up three straight hits to begin the frame, including a two-run double to Ivan Herrera. Senga retired 12 of the final 14 he faced. Senga's next start is scheduled for Sunday against the Giants in San Francisco.
Albert Suarez
Albert Suarez En route to Baltimore
Tue, Mar 31, 2026, 9:44 PM
The Orioles are expected to select Suarez's contract from Triple-A Norfolk on Wednesday, Andy Kostka of TheBaltimoreBanner.com reports.
Analysis: With Zach Eflin (elbow) likely headed for the injured list, Suarez will come up from the minors to provide extra bullpen depth until the team needs to fill the open rotation spot. The 36-year-old righty made five appearances in the majors last season and allowed just three earned runs over 11.2 innings, but he turned in a 7.59 ERA and 1.97 WHIP across 10.2 frames in the Grapefruit League this spring.
