Brandin Cooks
Brandin Cooks Logs one target again
Sun, Oct 12, 2025, 11:21 PM
Cooks caught his only target for 21 yards during Sunday's 25-19 loss to the Patriots.
Analysis: Cooks logged a season low in targets for the second week in a row. The 32-year-old has served as the Saints' No. 3 wideout this season, but his production has looked more like that of a WR4, averaging 2.2 catches on 2.8 targets for 20.7 yards per game. His fantasy numbers should remain negligible so long as Chris Olave, Rashid Shaheed and TE1 Juwan Johnson are healthy moving forward. His next opportunity will come during the Week 7 matchup versus the Bears on Sunday, Sept. 19.
Juwan Johnson
Juwan Johnson Fumbles in Week 6 defeat
Sun, Oct 12, 2025, 11:15 PM
Johnson reeled in both of his targets for 15 yards during Sunday's 25-19 defeat against the Patriots.
Analysis: Johnson suited up after dealing with an ankle issue during practice for the second week in a row. The 29-year-old also logged exactly two catches for the second straight contest, as he recorded season lows in targets and receiving yards. The lowlight of Johnson's performance came on his second catch when he coughed up a fumble in the fourth quarter. Johnson went from averaging 9.7 targets per game over the first three weeks to averaging 3.0 over the last three weeks. This downturn in opportunities has coincided with the overall decrease in passing attempts for the Saints across the last three games, so it appears his dropoff in production may continue so long as the New Orleans offense eases its reliance on Spencer Rattler's arm. Johnson will look to grab more passes during the Week 7 contest versus Chicago on Sunday, Sept. 19.
Kendre Miller
Kendre Miller Totals 32 yards in loss
Sun, Oct 12, 2025, 11:02 PM
Miller totaled eight carries for 21 yards and caught his only target for 11 yards during Sunday's 25-19 defeat to the Patriots.
Analysis: After back-to-back games with double-digit carries, Miller was stonewalled for his second-least efficient rushing performance of the season. The third-year running back has now averaged 7.6 carries per game this season. Over the last three games, he's averaging 9.6 rushing attempts for 42.3 yards per contest while operating as the No. 2 running back behind Alvin Kamara. Miller will look to remain involved in his backup role during the Week 7 matchup versus the Bears on Sunday, Sept. 19.
Rashid Shaheed
Rashid Shaheed Four grabs in Sunday's loss
Sun, Oct 12, 2025, 7:55 PM
Shaheed caught four of six targets for 28 yards in Sunday's 25-19 loss to the Patriots.
Analysis: The speedy wideout has caught exactly four passes in five straight games, but Sunday's yardage total was his lowest of the season. Shaheed remains dependent on deep throws for significant fantasy value, but with Spencer Rattler getting more confident and comfortable in coach Kellen Moore's offense, connections like last week's 87-yard TD could become more frequent. Shaheed may have a better chance of making an impact in Week 7 against the Bears.
Chris Olave
Chris Olave Just misses century mark in loss
Sun, Oct 12, 2025, 7:50 PM
Olave caught six of 10 targets for 98 yards in Sunday's 25-19 loss to the Patriots.
Analysis: The fourth-year wideout nearly produced his first 100-yard performance since Week 8 of last season, but Olave instead had to settle for a season high in receiving yards. He's been Spencer Rattler's favorite downfield option by far, seeing double-digit targets in five of six games to begin the campaign en route to a 39-342-1 line on 63 targets overall. Olave will look to stay productive in Week 7 against the Bears.
Alvin Kamara
Alvin Kamara Tops 70 scrimmage yards in loss
Sun, Oct 12, 2025, 7:45 PM
Kamara carried the ball 10 times for 31 yards and caught all five of his targets for 45 yards in Sunday's 25-19 loss to the Patriots.
Analysis: After dealing with an ankle injury during the week in practice, Kamara didn't seem particularly bothered by the issue as he saw at least 15 touches for the fourth time in the last five games and produced 70-plus scrimmage yards for the third time in that span. Kamara has 314 rushing yards and a 22-122-0 receiving line on 26 targets through six contests, but a Week 1 rushing TD has been his only trip to the end zone so far. He'll look to end his scoring drought in Week 7 against the Bears.
Spencer Rattler
Spencer Rattler Kept out of end zone Sunday
Sun, Oct 12, 2025, 7:38 PM
Rattler completed 20 of 26 passes for 227 yards in Sunday's 25-19 loss to the Patriots. He added 20 rushing yards on four carries.
Analysis: The second-year QB didn't commit a turnover for the fifth time in six starts to begin the season, but Rattler also wasn't able to produce a touchdown as the Saints had to settle for four Blake Grupe field goals, as well as a one-yard TD run from Taysom Hill. Rattler's 8.7 YPA on Sunday was a season high, as were his 227 passing yards. He'll take a 6:1 TD:INT into a Week 7 matchup against the Bears.
Alvin Kamara
Alvin Kamara Ready to go for Week 6
Sun, Oct 12, 2025, 10:37 AM
Kamara (ankle) is active for Sunday's game against the Patriots.
Analysis: A limited participant in practice throughout the week due to the ankle injury, Kamara took a questionable tag into the weekend but never seemed at major risk of missing Sunday's contest. Now that he's confirmed as available for the Week 6 contest, Kamara should continue in his usual role as the Saints' lead option out of the backfield. Though Kamara's name has popped up in trade rumors as the 1-4 Saints navigate what looks to be a rebuilding season, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reported Saturday that the 30-year-old back told general manager Mickey Loomis that he would like to remain with the franchise for the duration of his career. The Saints are expected to honor Kamara's request and hold on to him ahead of the Nov. 4 trade deadline, even though multiple contending teams would likely be in the market for his services.
Alvin Kamara
Alvin Kamara In line to play Sunday
Sat, Oct 11, 2025, 4:40 PM
Kamara (ankle), who is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Patriots, is expected to play, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Analysis: Kamara told Matthew Paras of The New Orleans Times-Picayune that he injured his ankle last Sunday versus the Giants, which left him limited in practice Wednesday through Friday and questionable for Week 6 action. Ultimately, Kamara's status for Sunday's contest will be confirmed about 90 minutes before a 1:00 p.m. ET kickoff, but even if he's active, there's a chance he cedes some snaps to his primary backup Kendre Miller.
Juwan Johnson
Juwan Johnson Cleared to play
Fri, Oct 10, 2025, 1:31 PM
Johnson (ankle) doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's game against the Patriots, Ross Jackson of WWL Louisiana reports.
Analysis: The minor ankle injury is less of a concern than Johnson's recent drop in production -- six targets and 45 yards over the past two games -- combined with the recent returns of fellow tight ends Taysom Hill and Foster Moreau. Johnson took 85 percent of snaps in a Week 5 win over the Giants, but that was actually his season low, with the number having dropped by a few percentage points with each passing game since he took 99 percent of snaps Week 1. He may soon run out of chances to prove that his surprising September production wasn't just a mirage.
Alvin Kamara
Alvin Kamara Listed as questionable
Fri, Oct 10, 2025, 1:18 PM
Kamara (ankle) is questionable for Sunday's game against New England, Ross Jackson of WWL Louisiana reports.
Analysis: Early reports suggested Kamara hurt his ankle during Wednesday's practice, but he clarified Thursday that the injury initially occurred during a win over the Giants on Sunday. That may also explain why Kendre Miller took on so much of the rushing workload, especially late in the game. This week, Kamara was a limited practice participant Wednesday through Friday, with Mike Triplett of NewOrleans.Football suggesting that the veteran RB is on track to play. There is some risk that Kamara's workload looks more like Week 5 than Weeks 1-4, but he'll presumably still start if he's declared active ahead of the 1:00 p.m. ET kickoff.
Juwan Johnson
Juwan Johnson Stays limited Thursday
Thu, Oct 9, 2025, 4:03 PM
Johnson (ankle) was limited in practice Thursday.
Analysis: With back-to-back capped sessions under his belt to begin Week 6 prep, Johnson has one more chance to prove the health of his ankle Friday before the Saints potentially tag him with a designation ahead of Sunday's contest against the Patriots. He played through the issue during a Week 5 win versus the Giants and handled a typical 85 percent snap share, but he managed just two catches (on four targets) for 17 yards.
Alvin Kamara
Alvin Kamara Remains limited in practice
Thu, Oct 9, 2025, 3:48 PM
Kamara (ankle) practiced in a limited fashion Thursday, Katherine Terrell of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Initial reports indicated Kamara hurt his ankle at Wednesday's practice, but he clarified Thursday that he's "feeling good" and actually suffered the injury this past Sunday against the Giants, per Matthew Paras of The New Orleans Times-Picayune. In the Week 5 win, Kamara logged season lows in offensive snap share (56 percent) and touches (12) on his way to just 55 yards from scrimmage. Ultimately, Friday's practice report will unveil whether or not he enters the weekend with a designation for Sunday's game versus the Patriots.
Alvin Kamara
Alvin Kamara Seen at practice Thursday
Thu, Oct 9, 2025, 2:59 PM
Kamara (ankle) was present at practice Thursday, Katherine Terrell of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: The Saints had a scare at Wednesday's session when Kamara injured his ankle and went down as a limited participant. It's unclear if he maintained that activity level or upgraded to full, but Thursday's practice report will reveal that info. Kendre Miller is on hand in the event Kamara is at all inhibited Sunday against the Patriots.
Juwan Johnson
Juwan Johnson Limited Wednesday
Wed, Oct 8, 2025, 4:08 PM
Johnson (ankle) practiced in a limited capacity Wednesday, Mike Triplett of NewOrleans.Football reports.
Analysis: Johnson also tended to an ankle injury last week, but he was able to suit up for this past Sunday's win against the Giants and logged a typical 85 percent snap share on his way to two catches (on four targets) for 17 yards. He'll have a pair of practices to get back to full this week, or else risk entering the weekend with a designation for Sunday's game versus the Patriots.
Alvin Kamara
Alvin Kamara Injures ankle at practice
Wed, Oct 8, 2025, 3:44 PM
Coach Kellen Moore said Kamara hurt his ankle in practice Wednesday, Matthew Paras of The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.
Analysis: Per Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.Football, Kamara officially was limited Wednesday, and Moore added that it's a "little something." Kamara's status thus bears watching as the week goes on to get a sense of his odds to suit up Sunday against the Patriots. If Kamara is inhibited or sidelined this weekend, Kendre Miller would take on an expanded role in the Saints offense.
Foster Moreau
Foster Moreau Zero catches in 2025 debut
Mon, Oct 6, 2025, 10:07 PM
Moreau tallied zero targets during Sunday's 26-14 win versus the Giants.
Analysis: Moreau eased his way back during his first game off the PUP list. The 28-year-old played a lower percentage of offensive snaps (35) than the team's other two tight ends, Juwan Johnson (85) and Jack Stoll (38). Meanwhile, Taysom Hill served almost exclusively as a rushing option in what was also his first game of the season. Moreau wasn't a significant pass-catcher over the last two years in New Orleans, but he played more offensive snaps (711) than TE1 Johnson (653) over 17 regular-season games in 2024. He should eventually ramp back up to become the clear-cut TE2, but his fantasy value will be minimal except for the deepest of PPR leagues. His next game will come versus the Patriots on Sunday, Oct. 12.
Brandin Cooks
Brandin Cooks Sees one target Sunday
Mon, Oct 6, 2025, 10:06 PM
Cooks gathered in his only target for five yards during Sunday's 26-14 victory versus the Giants.
Analysis: Cooks saw his lowest target share and playing time of the season, resulting in season lows in catches and yards. The 32-year-old went from playing at least 68 percent of offensive snaps in each of the first four weeks -- including 91 percent in Week 4 -- to 45 percent in Week 5. It's unclear why he saw such a sharp decline in playing time, though second-year wideout Devaughn Vele saw a jump from six percent of offensive snaps to 37 percent played Sunday. Neither Cooks nor Vele will have any fantasy value so long as they operate as the third and fourth wideouts in what has been a limited passing offense with quarterback Spencer Rattler. Cooks will perhaps play more offensive snaps during the Week 6 contest versus his former team, the Patriots.
Devaughn Vele
Devaughn Vele Grabs two passes Week 5
Mon, Oct 6, 2025, 10:06 PM
Vele hauled in all two targets for 13 yards during Sunday's 26-14 win versus the Giants.
Analysis: Vele saw a slight uptick in playing time and targets compared to his last two outings, when he played 34 and six percent of offensive snaps in Week 2 and Week 4, respectively. The second-year wideout has had a much slower start with New Orleans than he did during his 2024 rookie campaign in Denver, where he logged 41 catches (on 55 targets) for 475 yards over 13 regular-season games. Vele's fantasy value will be suppressed so long as he operates as the WR4 behind Chris Olave, Rashid Shaheed and Brandin Cooks, especially in the Saints' struggling passing offense.
Taysom Hill
Taysom Hill Plays nine snaps in 2025 debut
Mon, Oct 6, 2025, 8:55 PM
Hill logged six carries for minus-1 yard and completed his lone passing attempt for 19 yards during Sunday's 26-14 victory versus the Giants.
Analysis: Hill figured back into his role as a rushing quarterback and Swiss Army knife on offense during his first game back since suffering a torn ACL in Week 13 of the 2024 season. While he played only nine offensive snaps, the 35-year-old was featured nearly every time he got on the field, including multiple looks in short-yardage and third-down situations. Hill played at least 40 percent of offensive snaps in six of the eight regular-season games that he played last year, and he averaged 7.8 touches for 58.2 yards per contest in 2024. As he continues to ramp up his playing time, he should carry some value as a boom-or-bust option as a TE2 or FLEX play in most fantasy leagues, especially non-PPR formats. It will be worth monitoring how much, or if, his playing time increases during New Orleans' Week 6 matchup versus New England.
