Allen Lazard
Allen Lazard Working on contract extension
Sun, Mar 30, 2025, 4:05 PM
Jets general manager Darren Mougey said Sunday that the team is working on a contract restructure with Lazard and hopes to keep him on the roster this offseason, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Lazard was granted permission to seek a trade in early March. The 29-year-old wideout put up relatively mediocre production since joining the Jets on a 4-year, $44 million contract two years ago, posting 60 catches (on 109 targets) for 861 yards and seven touchdowns across 26 appearances. It's unlikely that many teams will be interested in trading for Lazard given the size of his contract; therefore, he'll likely be forced to restructure and/or take a smaller salary whether he is traded or remains on the Jets roster. It's also possible, and perhaps more likely, that he will be released if a contract restructure does not materialize.
Justin Fields
Justin Fields Will start in 2025
Sun, Mar 30, 2025, 3:44 PM
Jets general manager Darren Mougey said Sunday that Fields will be the team's starter heading into the 2025 season, Brian Costello of the New York Post reports.
Analysis: Fields joined the Jets on a two-year, $40 million on March 10 after the team moved on from starting quarterback Aaron Rodgers this offseason. It was widely assumed that the 26-year-old would fill the hole at starting quarterback, so Mougey's comments don't come as much of a surprise; however, the general manager added that incumbent backup Tyrod Taylor will be "on his heels," per Costello. Mougey also said that the team is hoping for Fields to pull off a turnaround similar to a pair of other high first-round draft picks who found success with a different team than the one who drafted them, citing Sam Darnold with the Vikings last year and Baker Mayfield with the Buccaneers, according to Rich Cimini of ESPN.com. Fields performed relatively well after being traded from the Bears to the Steelers last offseason. In 10 appearances with six starts, he completed a career-high 65.8 percent of his passes for 1,106 yards, five touchdowns and one interception to go along with 62 carries for 289 yards and five TDs. The Jets' offensive skill players are headlined by a pair of standouts with wide receiver Garrett Wilson and running back Breece Hall, but the team lacks in offensive depth and overall infrastructure.
Dak Prescott
Dak Prescott Slated to be limited this offseason
Sun, Mar 30, 2025, 2:11 PM
Cowboys executive vice president Stephen Jones said Sunday that Prescott (hamstring) will participate in a limited fashion to begin the offseason program, Jon Machota of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: Jones added that Prescott is continuing to do well in his recovery from a season-ending torn right hamstring, saying, "He's very thrilled with where he is. And I know the trainers are too," according to Machota." The 31-year-old underwent season-ending surgery in mid-November, and his timeline for a full recovery was expected to take about three months, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. The quarterback had middling production through eight games last season with 11 touchdowns to eight interceptions while completing 65 percent of his passes. The quarterback had middling production through eight games last season with 11 touchdowns to eight interceptions while completing 65 percent of his passes. As one of the teams that hired a new head coach, Dallas' offseason workouts are scheduled to start April 7, which is two weeks earlier than teams with no head coaching change. These early workouts will be the best opportunity to evaluate Prescott's health until the mandatory OTAs and minicamp that typically occur during mid-June. The start date for this offseason's OTAs has yet to be determined. Participating in the offseason program under new head coach Brian Schottenheimer, who was elevated from offensive coordinator this offseason, could be critical as Prescott aims to bounce back in 2025.
Teagan Quitoriano
Teagan Quitoriano Signs with Atlanta
Fri, Mar 28, 2025, 2:39 PM
The Falcons are signing Quitoriano (calf) on Friday after hosting him for a workout, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Analysis: Quitoriano was limited to seven-regular season appearances with Houston in 2024 before sustaining a calf injury. He didn't record any receptions in that span. Now having proved his healthy via a workout with Atlanta, Quitoriano will spend the offseason competing to secure another reserve gig.
Hunter Renfrow
Hunter Renfrow Hosted by Las Vegas for visit
Fri, Mar 28, 2025, 10:25 AM
The Raiders are hosting Renfrow for a visit Friday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Analysis: Renfrow, who didn't play at all in 2024 after being released by Las Vegas last March, also visited the Panthers on Wednesday. The 29-year-old wideout spent five seasons with the Raiders from 2019-23, most notably earning a Pro Bowl nod in 2021, when he compiled a career-best 103-1,038-9 receiving line. A reunion with Renfrow could make sense for Las Vegas, as the team is in need of reliable wideouts to surround new quarterback Geno Smith with. Currently, Tre Tucker and Kyle Philips slot in on the depth chart behind No. 1 option Jakobi Meyers.
Josh Reynolds
Josh Reynolds Headed to New York
Thu, Mar 27, 2025, 1:00 PM
The Jets signed Reynolds on Thursday.
Analysis: Per Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, Reynolds' agreement with the Jets is a one-year deal worth up to $5 million. The 30-year-old is coming off a 2024 regular season in which he combined for 13 catches for 194 yards and a TD over the course of nine games (five with Denver and four with Jacksonville). With New York, Reynolds will have an opportunity to compete for targets behind top option Garrett Wilson in a wideout corps that also includes Allen Lazard, Xavier Gipson, Malachi Corley and Tyler Johnson. A fantasy bounce-back could be in store for Reynolds this coming season should he secure steady snaps, which for now -- based on his new team's current roster -- is a plausible outcome.
Michael Burton
Michael Burton Re-ups with Denver
Thu, Mar 27, 2025, 11:59 AM
The Broncos re-signed Burton on Wednesday, Aric DiLalla of the team's official site reports.
Analysis: Burton suited up for all 17 regular-season games with Denver in 2024, mostly working in a special-teams role while contributing occasionally as a blocker on offense. He totaled seven carries for eight yards and a touchdown on the year, while also securing all 10 of his targets for 65 yards and an additional score. He'll spend the offseason competing to again secure the team's top fullback spot.
Tim Boyle
Tim Boyle Lands with Tennessee
Wed, Mar 26, 2025, 3:31 PM
The Titans signed Boyle to a contract Wednesday.
Analysis: Boyle, a storied journeyman who's logged action for the Packers, Lions, Bears, Jets, Dolphins and Giants in his NFL career, now joins a Tennessee quarterback room alongside incumbents Will Levis and Brandon Allen. The Titans are strong candidates to make further additions to the quarterback room this offseason, potentially including with the No. 1 overall pick of the 2025 NFL Draft.
James Proche
James Proche Latches on in Tennessee
Wed, Mar 26, 2025, 3:28 PM
The Titans signed Proche to a contract Wednesday.
Analysis: Proche spent the last two seasons contributing as a special-teams specialist in Cleveland, suiting up for 19 regular-season games in that span. He'll compete to secure a similar role in Tennessee. Proche's ability to contribute on return duties will boost his chances of sticking with the Titans' regular-season roster.
Stefon Diggs
Stefon Diggs Could be ready for Week 1
Wed, Mar 26, 2025, 11:55 AM
Evan Lazar of the Patriots' official site relays via Adam Schefter of ESPN that there's reportedly optimism Diggs, who is bouncing back from a torn right ACL in his right knee that he suffered Oct. 27, could be ready for Week 1 of the coming season.
Analysis: Given the timing of his injury, Diggs being available for the Patriots' regular-season opener is far from a lock, but Mike Reiss of ESPN recently noted that league sources described the wideout as ahead of schedule in his recovery and already running at full speed while in the process of gaining increased comfort in terms of cutting and changing direction. In any case, added context with regard to Diggs' progress will arrive once he retakes the field in the coming months, and once he's deemed fit for game action, the 31-year-old will be counted on to establish himself as a high-volume target for second-year QB Drake Maye. It's possible that the Patriots aren't done adding to their WR corps, but for now DeMario Douglas, Kayshon Boutte, Kendrick Bourne, Mack Hollins, Ja'Lynn Polk and Javon Baker are on hand to compete for slotting behind Diggs, who New England signed to a reported three-year, $69 million deal (with $26 million guaranteed) on Tuesday.
Steven Sims
Steven Sims Signs with Seattle
Tue, Mar 25, 2025, 6:20 PM
Sims and the Seahawks agreed on a one-year contract Tuesday, Corbin K. Smith of SI.com reports.
Analysis: Sims will head to Seattle after splitting the 2024 campaign between the Texans and the Ravens. The wide receiver combined to log nine total offensive snaps with Houston and Baltimore during the regular season, making the most of his damage as a return-specialist. He'll likely operate in a similar role with the Seahawks in 2025.
Stefon Diggs
Stefon Diggs Headed to New England
Tue, Mar 25, 2025, 6:10 PM
Diggs (knee) and the Patriots agreed on a three-year, $69 million contract including $26 million guaranteed Tuesday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Analysis: Diggs will head to New England after an injury-shorted campaign with the Texans in 2024. The wide receiver caught 47 of 64 targets for 496 yards and three touchdowns while also adding eight yards and a score on the ground over eight games with Houston before suffering a season-ending torn ACL in Week 8 against the Colts. Once he moves past the injury, Diggs will have a clear path to a heavy target load as Drake Maye's de facto WR1 with the Patriots in 2025.
Russell Wilson
Russell Wilson Joining Big Blue
Tue, Mar 25, 2025, 5:56 PM
The Giants and Wilson agreed to a one-year contract Tuesday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Analysis: The Giants have been in search of a new starting quarterback since moving on from Daniel Jones last season, and Wilson seemingly will be the choice for them, at least initially in 2025, even with fellow offseason signing Jameis Winston on the roster and the draft still to come. Wilson will receive $10.5 million guaranteed upon signing with the potential to make $21 million this season. In 11 regular-season appearances (all starts) in his only campaign with the Steelers in 2024, he completed 214 of 336 passes (63.7 percent) for 2,482 yards, 16 touchdowns and five interceptions, had 43 carries for 155 yards and two more TDs and fumbled five times (four lost).
Ian Thomas
Ian Thomas Lands in Las Vegas
Tue, Mar 25, 2025, 12:03 PM
The Raiders signed Thomas (calf) to a contract Tuesday.
Analysis: Thomas spent the first seven seasons of his NFL career in Carolina, and he now bolsters a Raiders tight end corps led by 2024 rookie phenom Brock Bowers and trade candidate Michael Mayer. Thomas is capable of contributing in a depth role as both a blocker and pass catcher, so his presence could make it easier for the team to move on from Mayer. He appeared in five games (two starts) with the Panthers in 2024 before landing on IR with a calf injury, but Thomas figures to be ready to go for the start of offseason activities.
Eric Saubert
Eric Saubert Joining Seattle
Mon, Mar 24, 2025, 6:21 PM
Saubert signed with the Seahawks on Monday, John Boyle of the team's official site reports.
Analysis: With the signing, the tight end joins his eighth team as he heads into his ninth NFL campaign. Saubert spent 2024 with the 49ers, playing in all 17 games and catching 11 passes for 97 yards and a score. The veteran has played more on special teams than offense in five of his eight NFL seasons, and he should begin his time with Seattle behind at least Noah Fant and AJ Barner on the depth chart.
Christian Kirk
Christian Kirk Reworks contract
Mon, Mar 24, 2025, 8:18 AM
Kirk (collarbone) agreed earlier this month to restructure his contract for the 2025 season, with the Texans opting to convert $14.245 million of his salary into a signing bonus, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Analysis: Kirk, who is entering the final season of the four-year, $72 million contract he signed with Jacksonville in 2022, was acquired by the Texans on March 6 in exchange for a 2026 seventh-round pick. The Texans' willingness to take on the remaining money on his deal was likely a major factor in the low compensation the Jaguars received in return, but Houston was at least able to restructure the contract to make it more palatable for salary-cap purposes. Between his salary and signing bonus, Kirk will earn $16.5 million in 2025, with the potential to earn an additional $3 million if he reaches unspecified catches and receiving yardage incentives. With Tank Dell's (knee) availability for the upcoming season in doubt, Kirk is projected to head into training camp as Houston's No. 2 wideout behind Nico Collins. Prior to suffering a season-ending fractured collarbone in Week 8, Kirk was supplanted by Brian Thomas as the top option in the Jacksonville passing game and finished with a 27-379-1 line on 47 targets.
Zach Pascal
Zach Pascal Moving to NFC East
Sat, Mar 22, 2025, 12:10 PM
Pascal and the Giants have agreed upon a one-year contract, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: With New York, Pascal will get to reunite with wide receivers coach Mike Groh, who was on the Colts' staff during Pascal's final two seasons in Indianapolis. The veteran wideout has seen his role shift in recent campaigns, as Pascal logged more snaps on special teams than on offense each of the past two years while with Arizona -- in fact, he played in all 17 of the Cardinals' contests last season but didn't see a target in the passing game. Pascal could fill a similar role with the Giants, though he should at least get a chance to compete for a depth receiver role during training camp.
Jameis Winston
Jameis Winston Joining G-Men
Fri, Mar 21, 2025, 6:57 PM
Winston and the Giants are finalizing a two-year, $8 million contract, Jordan Schultz of Fox Sports reports.
Analysis: Per Schultz, the contract could be worth up to $16 million with incentives. Winston stepped into a starting role for the Browns last season after Deshaun Watson tore his Achilles, and he finished the campaign with 2,121 passing yards on a 61 percent completion rate and a 13:12 TD:INT over 12 contests while adding 83 rushing yards and a touchdown on 25 carries. For the time being, Winston looks to be in line for a starting role with New York, though the team could still pursue another quarterback in free agency or the draft given Tommy DeVito is the only other QB currently under contract. If Winston does land the starting role, he'll have one of the league's most talented young wideouts in Malik Nabers to throw the ball to, though turnovers have frequently been a flaw in Winston's game as evidenced by his 154:111 TD:INT over 105 regular-season contests. Winston missed the end of the 2024 regular season with a right shoulder injury, but that no longer seems to be a concern considering the Giants' willingness to hand him a potentially central role from the outset of the 2025 campaign.
Tyler Conklin
Tyler Conklin Lands with Bolts
Fri, Mar 21, 2025, 4:08 PM
Conklin agreed to terms Friday on a one-year contract with the Chargers, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Analysis: Conklin joins Will Dissly atop Los Angeles' tight-end depth chart, after both players logged similarly productive 2024 campaigns. Dissly (50-481-2) suited up for 15 regular-season games with the Chargers last year, while Conklin (51-449-4) played all 17 regular-season contests with the Jets. Both tight ends boast enough versatility to contribute as solid blockers and pass catchers. That overlap could cause their individual production to decline from a fantasy perspective, but it's a plus for Justin Herbert and offensive coordinator Greg Roman.
River Cracraft
River Cracraft Signs with Seattle
Fri, Mar 21, 2025, 3:21 PM
The Seahawks signed Cracraft to a contract Friday.
Analysis: Cracraft joins Seattle's wide-receiver corps after spending the last three seasons in Miami, in which span he never managed to pile up 150 receiving yards in a single year. He'll work to establish himself in a depth role with his new team, where plenty of offensive snaps figure to be up for grabs with Cooper Kupp and Marquez Valdes-Scantling having replaced DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett.
