Max Brosmer
Max Brosmer Will start against Seattle
Fri, Nov 28, 2025, 2:02 PM
Brosmer will start Sunday's game against the Seahawks after J.J. McCarthy (concussion) was ruled out Friday, Ben Goessling of The Minnesota Star Tribune reports.
Analysis: With Carson Wentz (shoulder) on injured reserve, Brosmer is the next man up under center for Minnesota. The 24-year-old rookie signed with the Vikings after he wasn't drafted out of Minnesota. Brosmer has attempted eight regular-season passes this season, completing five for 42 scoreless yards. During the preseason, Brosmer completed 60 percent of his 58 pass attempts for 364 yards, two touchdowns and one interception. The Seattle defense is a better one-for-one fantasy bet than Brosmer.
J.J. McCarthy
J.J. McCarthy Ruled out for Sunday
Fri, Nov 28, 2025, 1:53 PM
McCarthy (concussion) has been ruled out for Sunday's game at Seattle, Ben Goessling of The Minnesota Star Tribune reports.
Analysis: McCarthy made enough progress though the concussion protocol to log limited practices Wednesday and Thursday, but Vikings coach Kevin O'Connell revealed Friday that the QB remains in protocol. Rookie Max Brosmer will make his first NFL start, after handling the first-team reps at practice this week.

J.J. McCarthy Remains limited Thursday
Thu, Nov 27, 2025, 4:21 PM
McCarthy (concussion) was listed as limited on Thursday's practice report, Alec Lewis of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: After reporting concussion symptoms following this past Sunday's loss at Green Bay, McCarthy so far has been limited on both of the Vikings' Week 13 injury reports. He likely will need to progress to a full session Friday to give himself an opportunity to be available Sunday at Seattle. Max Brosmer handled first-team reps at Wednesday's practice and would be in line for his first career start this weekend if McCarthy isn't able to gain clearance from an independent neurologist.
J.J. McCarthy
J.J. McCarthy Limited practice Wednesday
Wed, Nov 26, 2025, 1:02 PM
Coach Kevin O'Connell said McCarthy has made enough progress through the concussion protocol to practice in a limited capacity Wednesday, Dane Mizutani of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.
Analysis: McCarthy reported symptoms of a head injury on the flight back to Minnesota from Green Bay on Sunday, which spurred the Vikings to place him in the concussion protocol. His ability to log at least individual drills at Wednesday's practice would seem to give him a chance to be available for Sunday's game at Seattle, but backup Max Brosmer is handling all the first-team reps at the beginning of Week 13 prep.

Max Brosmer May draw Week 13 start
Mon, Nov 24, 2025, 12:53 PM
Brosmer will take first-team reps at practice to open Week 13 with J.J. McCarthy having been placed in the concussion protocol, Ben Goessling of The Minnesota Star Tribune reports.
Analysis: Brosmer will be in position to start on the road against Seattle on Sunday if McCarthy is not able to fully clear the NFL's five-step concussion protocol in time to play Week 13. In that scenario, John Wolford would stand to be elevated from the practice squad to operate as Brosmer's backup. The undrafted rookie out of Minnesota has logged four regular-season appearances so far, in which span he's completed five of eight pass attempts for 42 yards.
J.J. McCarthy
J.J. McCarthy In concussion protocol
Mon, Nov 24, 2025, 12:48 PM
Vikings head coach Kevin O'Connell said Monday that McCarthy has been placed in the concussion protocol due to symptoms that manifested after Sunday's loss to the Packers, Alec Lewis of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: McCarthy's status for Week 13 must now be considered uncertain, as he won't be eligible to retake the field until he's gained full clearance from the NFL's five-step concussion protocol, including from an independent neurologist. O'Connell confirmed that undrafted rookie Max Brosmer will take first-team reps to begin Week 13 preparations, per Ben Goessling of The Minnesota Star Tribune, and start versus the Seahawks on Sunday if McCarthy is unavailable.
Jalen Nailor
Jalen Nailor No receptions in loss
Mon, Nov 24, 2025, 11:47 AM
Nailor did not have a catch on his lone target in Sunday's loss at Green Bay.
Analysis: Nailor played on 20 of the offense's 44 snaps, which was a little lower than his usual participation rate. However, it's hard to read too much into his performance given the historically inept performance of J.J. McCarthy (87 yards passing, two interceptions and 17.9 QBR). Nailor and the passing game have another tough matchup next week at Seattle. It's hard to envision any Minnesota receivers having fantasy relevance if McCarthy continues to struggle like his last two games.
T.J. Hockenson
T.J. Hockenson Four receptions in loss
Mon, Nov 24, 2025, 11:23 AM
Hockenson had four receptions for 19 yards on four targets in Sunday's loss at Green Bay.
Analysis: J.J. McCarthy's abysmal play at quarterback (87 yards passing, two interceptions in the loss) has made almost every Vikings receiver a non-factor for fantasy purposes. Hockensen is at least getting some dump-off passes (seven receptions last two games), but they are not resulting in much yardage. Hockenson's outlook isn't any better next week in a tough matchup at Seattle.
Adam Thielen
Adam Thielen Another drop in loss
Mon, Nov 24, 2025, 11:17 AM
Thielen had a drop on his only target in Sunday's loss at Green Bay. He played just three snaps on offense.
Analysis: Thielen has dropped a pass in consecutive games and has three drops overall this season, according to Pro Football Focus. He's arguably failed to secure more catchable balls than he has receptions (eight) this season. With Minnesota falling out of playoff contention, Thielen may see little playing time the rest of the season.
Jordan Addison
Jordan Addison Complete non-factor in loss
Sun, Nov 23, 2025, 5:59 PM
Addison failed to bring in his only target in the Vikings' 23-6 loss to the Packers on Sunday.
Analysis: Addison's opportunities were part of the collateral damage of J.J. McCarthy's utterly forgettable afternoon, as he threw for just 87 yards and two interceptions. The speedy wideout was essentially ignored in the passing game, logging his lowest target total of the season. While it may be accurate to say there's nowhere to go but up for Addison in a Week 13 road battle against the Seahawks, the matchup is less than appealing on paper.
Jordan Mason
Jordan Mason Efficient with eight carries Sunday
Sun, Nov 23, 2025, 5:05 PM
Mason rushed eight times for 42 yards in the Vikings' 23-6 loss to the Packers on Sunday.
Analysis: The majority of Mason's production came on one carry, a game-long 22-yard scamper. That also helped him to the team lead in rushing yards, and he finished the afternoon with just one fewer carry than backfield mate Aaron Jones. Mason should continue operating in a relatively robust role on the ground in a Week 13 road matchup against the Seahawks, although his minuscule participation in the passing game does cap his overall upside.
Aaron Jones
Aaron Jones Accrues 57 total yards in loss
Sun, Nov 23, 2025, 4:59 PM
Jones rushed nine times for 41 yards and brought in three of four targets for 16 yards in the Vikings' 23-6 loss to the Packers on Sunday.
Analysis: Jones actually saw a pretty typical workload despite the negative game script, getting to the nine-carry mark for the fourth straight contest. The veteran back had one more rush attempt than backfield mate Jordan Mason, and he recorded multiple receptions for the fifth straight contest. Jones and Mason should continue in their near-even timeshare during a Week 13 road battle against the Seahawks next Sunday.
J.J. McCarthy
J.J. McCarthy Abysmal numbers in loss
Sun, Nov 23, 2025, 3:31 PM
McCarthy completed 12 of 19 passes for 87 yards with no touchdowns and two interceptions while adding two rushes for 10 yards in the Vikings' 23-6 loss to the Packers on Sunday. He also fumbled once but recovered.
Analysis: The second-year signal-caller's nightmarish stretch of play continued, and McCarthy has now thrown for 150 yards or fewer in three of his last four games. McCarthy also failed to throw a touchdown pass for the first time in four games since returning from injury, and of greater concern, he tossed a pair of interceptions for the third consecutive contest. With Carson Wentz (shoulder) on injured reserve and the Vikings needing to see whether McCarthy can work his way through the most adversity-filled period of his nascent career, head coach Kevin O'Connell seemingly has no other option but to continue sticking with the embattled 2024 first-round pick for a Week 13 road matchup against the fearsome Seahawks defense.
Justin Jefferson
Justin Jefferson Four catches in Week 12 loss
Sun, Nov 23, 2025, 3:15 PM
Jefferson brought in four of six targets for 48 yards in the Vikings' 23-6 loss to the Packers on Sunday.
Analysis: It's small consolation for Jefferson's frustrated fantasy managers, but the star wideout either tied for the lead (receptions) or set the pace (receiving yards, targets) for the Vikings on the afternoon in all three major receiving categories. However, J.J. McCarthy's continued struggles led to Jefferson's third sub-50-yard effort in the last four contests, and there presently doesn't appear to be any light at the end of the tunnel for Minnesota's air attack. Jefferson's next matchup doesn't offer any solace, either, considering a Week 13 road matchup against the daunting Seahawks defense awaits next Sunday.
Adam Thielen
Adam Thielen Just one reception in loss
Mon, Nov 17, 2025, 2:45 PM
Thielen had one reception for six yards on two targets in Sunday's loss to Chicago.
Analysis: Thielen played just eight of the Vikings' 55 offensive snaps Sunday, operating as Minnesota's No. 4 wide receiver. He had another drop as he's arguably failed to secure more catchable balls than he has receptions (eight) this season. With Minnesota's struggles in the passing game, there doesn't appear to any upside for Thielen the rest of the season.
Jalen Nailor
Jalen Nailor Just one reception in loss
Mon, Nov 17, 2025, 2:38 PM
Nailor had one reception for 16 yards on his only target in Sunday's loss to Chicago.
Analysis: A week after a career-best performance (five receptions for 124 yards and a touchdown), Nailor wasn't a big factor as Minnesota's passing game struggled due to quarterback. J.J. McCarthy's inaccuracy. Nailor played on 33 of the offense's 55 snaps, so he was getting his usual workload. However, he's prone to low output games when the offense struggles, considering Justin Jefferson, Jordan Addison and tight end T.J. Hockenson draw the bulk of the targets.
T.J. Hockenson
T.J. Hockenson Three receptions in loss
Mon, Nov 17, 2025, 2:28 PM
Hockenson had three receptions for 39 yards on six targets in Sunday's loss to Chicago.
Analysis: There were some encouraging signs for Hockenson as the Vikings offense used him more in short routes over the middle that were lacking in quarterback J.J. McCarthy's previous starts. However, McCarthy and the passing game struggled overall, which limits Hockenson's upside. McCarthy was just 16-of-32 passing as he struggled with accuracy and had two interceptions.
Jordan Addison
Jordan Addison Quiet before last-minute TD
Sun, Nov 16, 2025, 5:35 PM
Addison caught two of seven targets for 20 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 19-17 loss to the Bears.
Analysis: Addison was almost the hero after a quiet 59 minutes, as his 15-yard touchdown catch with 50 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter tied the game, and Minnesota took a 17-16 lead with the ensuing PAT. The Bears answered with a game-winning field goal to drop the Vikings to 4-6. Addison has caught just five of 18 targets from struggling quarterback J.J. McCarthy in Minnesota's last two games ahead of a Week 12 road game against the Packers.
Jordan Mason
Jordan Mason Gets six touches to Jones' 19
Sun, Nov 16, 2025, 5:34 PM
Mason rushed six times for 45 yards and a touchdown and wasn't targeted in Sunday's 19-17 loss to the Bears.
Analysis: Mason didn't get many opportunities as the Vikings played catch-up for most of the game, so superior pass catcher Aaron Jones out-touched Mason 19-6. Mason made the most of his limited chances, breaking free for a 16-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter. With Jones operating as the top option in Minnesota's backfield heading into a Week 12 trip to Green Bay, Mason may not get many carries against the stout Packers run defense.
Aaron Jones
Aaron Jones Gets 19 touches in Week 11 loss
Sun, Nov 16, 2025, 4:37 PM
Jones rushed 16 times for 70 yards and caught three of six targets for 11 yards in Sunday's 19-17 loss to the Bears.
Analysis: Jones finished with a 19-6 edge in touches over Jordan Mason, but Mason scored a 16-yard rushing touchdown in the fourth quarter. Jones just missed scoring a touchdown of his own in the first quarter but failed to come down with a bobbling catch attempt on an acrobatic effort in the end zone. Heading into a Week 12 road game against his former team in Green Bay, Jones has reestablished himself as the top option in Minnesota's backfield.
