Ryan Flournoy
Ryan Flournoy Impresses during spring work
Fri, Jun 26, 2026, 3:55 PM
Coach Brian Schottenheimer singled out Flournoy as someone who stood out during spring practices, Joseph Hoyt of The Dallas Morning News reports.
Analysis: "You saw him take that step, I'd say in the middle of the season last year and he came back, man, with just a really strong intent for what he wanted to get done," Schottenheimer said. "He looks great. He's moving great. His routes, I think have gotten better. Here's a guy from a small school that's come in and really adapted to the way we teach route breaks and releases and speed terms and power cuts and things like that. I really think the sky's the limit for him and he's definitely a guy we see finding ways to get him the ball." Flournoy is locked into the Cowboys' third receiver spot behind CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens, and he's one of the best bench stashes at the wideout spot in fantasy. If either Lamb or Pickens were to get injured, Flournoy would assume an every-down role in a high-octane passing attack. With Lamb out for three games last regular season, Flournoy produced one of his two 100-yard receiving games and was targeted 17 times across those three contests.
Jaydon Blue
Jaydon Blue Showing improvement in Year 2
Thu, Jun 25, 2026, 1:00 PM
Coach Brian Schottenheimer notes that the difference has been "night and day" in terms of Blue's performance during this year's offseason program, Todd Archer of ESPN reports.
Analysis: Blue, who the Cowboys took in the fifth round of the 2025 NFL Draft, logged just 38 carries for 129 yards and a TD and one catch for five yards in five regular-season games as a rookie. While Malik Davis emerged as Javonte Williams' primary backup last year, Blue will have a chance to compete for that role this summer with Davis, as well as Phil Mafah. Williams remains the team's unquestioned lead back, but if Blue can parlay the speed and explosiveness Schottenheimer has noted he possesses into a larger complementary role, the Texas product could carry fantasy sleeper appeal in 2026.
Placed on reserve/injured list
Thu, Jun 18, 2026, 4:45 PM
The Cowboys placed Hennessy (neck) on the reserve/injured list Thursday.
Analysis: This was an expected move, as Hennessy underwent neck surgery in early June. The center currently has no return timeline but is set to serve as Cooper Beebe's backup once he returns to the field.
Headed to Dallas
Thu, Jun 18, 2026, 4:37 PM
The Cowboys signed Snowden on Thursday, NFL insider Jordan Schultz reports.
Analysis: Snowden has played over 320 defensive snaps in each of the last two seasons. The defensive end recorded 28 tackles (17 solo), including 3.0 sacks, and added two passes defensed for one interception over 15 games during the 2025 regular season. The 28-year-old will likely be a strong depth player who can compete for rotational snaps behind Rashan Gary and Donovan Ezeiruaku.
Denzel Mims
Denzel Mims Signs with Dallas
Thu, Jun 18, 2026, 4:16 PM
The Cowboys signed Mims on Thursday, Todd Archer of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: The 2020 second-round pick played three years for the Jets before bouncing around practice squads for the next two years. Mims played the 2025 and 2026 seasons in the UFL, accumulating 11 receptions for 110 yards over 11 games split between the Battlehawks and Renegades. The wide receiver will now compete with a packed Cowboys corps in an attempt to remain on an NFL roster.
Suits up for minicamp
Tue, Jun 16, 2026, 8:47 PM
Bell (concussion) is participating during the Cowboys' minicamp, Gareth Patterson of The Lufkin Daily News reports.
Analysis: Bell was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and marijuana back in April, but the NFL has yet to send down any disciplinary action with minicamp now underway. As long as he remains available, he projects to play a rotational role in Dallas' secondary in 2026.
Tending to back issue
Tue, Jun 16, 2026, 6:34 PM
Coach Brian Schottenheimer said Tuesday that Houston (back) will be limited during the Cowboys' minicamp, Tommy Yarrish of the Cowboys' official site reports.
Analysis: Houston played all 17 games for Dallas in 2025, and it's not clear when he picked up the injury. As he continues to recover, rookie third-rounder Jaishawn Barham could get more opportunities on the edge at practice.
Limited to start minicamp
Tue, Jun 16, 2026, 6:27 PM
Coach Brian Schottenheimer said Tuesday that Hooker (back) will be limited during the Cowboys' minicamp, Tommy Yarrish of the Cowboys' official site reports.
Analysis: Hooker was able to play in all of Dallas' last eight games to finish the 2025 season, but he's apparently dealing with a back issue as minicamp kicks off. Until he's back to full strength, free agent acquisition P.J. Locke could see increased practice reps with the first-team defense.
Dak Prescott
Dak Prescott Managing sore knee
Tue, Jun 16, 2026, 12:01 PM
Cowboys coach Brian Schottenheimer said Tuesday that Prescott will be limited at mandatory minicamp due to knee soreness, Tommy Yarrish of the Cowboys' official site reports.
Analysis: Schottenheimer downplayed the severity of Prescott's injury, saying it's a "sore knee, nothing we're concerned about." By all appearances, Dallas is simply taking a cautious approach to the health of the veteran quarterback, who will turn 33 years old in July. It doesn't look like the team has any concerns about Prescott's availability for the start of training camp. Meanwhile, George Pickens has reported to mandatory minicamp amid ongoing negotiations about a potential long-term deal with the Cowboys, though the wideout won't participate in any team drills, per Jon Machota of The Athletic.
George Pickens
George Pickens Reps managed at minicamp
Tue, Jun 16, 2026, 11:57 AM
Cowboys head coach Brian Schottenheimer said Tuesday that Pickens won't take part in team drills at mandatory minicamp, Jon Machota of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: Pickens has reported for the start of Dallas' mandatory minicamp, as despite his desire for a long-term deal with the team he would have been subjected to fines for any absences. Though Pickens signed his franchise tag with the Cowboys back in April, he abstained from voluntary workouts with the team during spring. Schottenheimer said the plan is for Pickens to go through a normal ramp-up period after the start of training camp in July and for the 25-year-old wideout to practice in full shortly thereafter, per Todd Archer of ESPN.com.
George Pickens
George Pickens Reports for start of minicamp
Mon, Jun 15, 2026, 12:45 PM
Pickens was present for his physical Monday prior to the Cowboys' mandatory minicamp, Todd Archer of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: There had been some speculation whether Pickens would show up for minicamp based on the Cowboys' unwillingness to negotiate a long-term deal with the star wideout. However, he signed his franchise tag back in April and would have been subject to fines if he didn't report for mandatory practices this week after he's skipped out on voluntary workouts this offseason. Pickens is headed into his age-25 season and coming off a career year in 2025 after he caught 93 passes for 1,429 yards and nine touchdowns across 17 regular-season contests. The team likely wants to see Pickens do it again before committing to him long term. If he's able to have another big season, Pickens will be looking at $30 million-plus per year on a multi-year pact next offseason.
Practicing at middle linebacker
Thu, Jun 11, 2026, 6:27 PM
Overshown has been practicing at middle and weakside linebacker during minicamp, Jon Machota of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: The linebacker is also healthy and wearing no knee brace, per Machota. That's significant, seeing as he missed 12 games with a knee injury in 2025. Overshown made an impact in 2024, with 90 tackles (56 solo), including 5.0 sacks, four pass breakups, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery across 13 regular-season games.
Undergoes neck surgery
Tue, Jun 9, 2026, 8:31 PM
Hennessy underwent neck surgery, Calvin Watkins of The Dallas Morning News reports.
Analysis: Hennessy is expected to start training camp on the physically unable to perform list, and there's currently no timetable for his return. The 28-year-old had signed with the Cowboys back in March and is in line to serve as the team's backup center once healthy.
Jonathan Mingo
Jonathan Mingo Dealing with groin strain
Tue, Jun 9, 2026, 6:30 PM
Coach Brian Schottenheimer said Tuesday that Mingo is tending to a minor groin strain, Jon Machota of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: There was no indication as to when Mingo suffered the injury, but it doesn't sound like it's a serious issue. Any time that Mingo potentially misses could turn into a small opportunity for Tyler Johnson to make a bigger impression outside.
Tending to pec issue
Tue, Jun 9, 2026, 6:25 PM
Coach Brian Schottenheimer said Tuesday that Thompson is nursing a minor pectoral injury, Jon Machota of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: It's unknown when or how Thompson got hurt, but his coach's comments suggest there's no great cause for alarm. If he's limited during the Cowboys' minicamp, free agent acquisition P.J. Locke could see some work with the first-team defense.
Competing for starting LT job
Fri, Jun 5, 2026, 12:11 PM
Coach Brian Schottenheimer said Thursday that Thomas and Tyler Guyton are competing for the starting job at left tackle this offseason, Nick Harris of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.
Analysis: Thomas was a seventh-round pick out of Louisiana in 2024. After missing his entire rookie season with a knee injury, Thomas appeared in all 17 regular-season games last season and made four starts while seeing most of his action at left tackle. Guyton missed the final six weeks of the 2025 season with a knee injury, allowing Thomas an extended run at the position.
Practicing without leg brace
Thu, Jun 4, 2026, 9:02 PM
Revel (concussion) is participating during the Cowboys' OTAs, Nick Harris of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.
Analysis: Per Tommy Yarrish of the Cowboys' official site, Revel's biggest priority during the offseason was getting back to full health and shedding the leg brace that he wore for much of the 2025 season, which he has now accomplished with offseason workouts underway. Now, he'll compete for a starting role on the boundary opposite DaRon Bland.
Competing for starting job
Thu, Jun 4, 2026, 8:22 PM
Coach Brian Schottenheimer said Thursday that Guyton (ankle) is competing with 2024 seventh-rounder Nathan Thomas for the job of starting left tackle, Todd Archer of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: It's not clear what level of danger there is that he could actually cede his starting role to Thomas, but it's good news for Guyton that he no longer seems to be hindered by the ankle injury that landed him on IR at the end of last season. Unless Thomas totally dazzles Dallas' coaches in the coming months, Guyton should be expected to be the one protecting Dak Prescott's blindside in 2026.
Progressing in recovery
Thu, Jun 4, 2026, 7:25 PM
Ezeiruaku (hip) participated in some drills during the Cowboys' OTAs, Todd Archer of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Per Archer, Ezeiruaku was not taking part in a team session, so there's evidently still some work to do before he's back to full strength. As long as he's healthy, he projects to play a major role on the edge in 2026 along with offseason trade acquisition Rashan Gary and rookie first-rounder Malachi Lawrence.
Expecting return for training camp
Thu, Jun 4, 2026, 7:15 PM
Bland (foot) is expected to be ready to practice during the Cowboys' training camp in July, Todd Archer of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Bland, who underwent surgery on an injured left foot back in January, was moving very well laterally as Dallas held OTAs, per Archer. Once he's at full strength again, he figures to play a big role on the boundary for the Cowboys in 2026.
