Javonte Williams
Javonte Williams Remains limited at practice
Thu, Dec 18, 2025, 3:24 PM
Williams (neck) practiced on a limited basis Thursday, Nick Harris of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.
Analysis: Williams is operating with practice restrictions this week due to the neck injury that forced him to miss a portion of the first half of this past Sunday's loss to the Vikings and also cede backfield reps to backup Malik Davis. Overall, Williams logged a 28 percent snap share and 15 carries, while Davis took on 52 percent and 10 touches himself. In the end, Friday's practice report will reveal if Williams is tagged with a designation ahead of Sunday's game against the Chargers.
CeeDee Lamb
CeeDee Lamb Missing another practice
Thu, Dec 18, 2025, 1:33 PM
Lamb (illness) did not practice Thursday, Joe Hoyt of The Dallas Morning News reports.
Analysis: Lamb has now missed back-to-back practices due to illness to begin Week 16 prep. Friday's session will be his final chance to practice before potentially receiving a preliminary injury designation for Sunday's game against the Chargers. In the event that Lamb isn't able to practice Friday, he'll be at risk of missing Week 16 or having his status come down to a game-time decision.
Hunter Luepke
Hunter Luepke DNP to open week
Wed, Dec 17, 2025, 7:28 PM
Luepke (concussion) did not practice Wednesday, Clarence Hill Jr. of AllDLLS.com reports.
Analysis: Luepke entered the league's concussion protocol during the Cowboys' Week 15 loss to the Vikings. Even if he were to return to practice over the next two days, Luepke would have to be cleared from the league's protocol by an independent neurologist in order to play Sunday against the Chargers. The Cowboys don't have another fullback on the active roster or practice squad, so they may deploy a tight end like Luke Schoonmaker or Brevyn Spann-Ford as a backfield blocker if Luepke is not cleared to play.
Javonte Williams
Javonte Williams Limited by neck issue
Wed, Dec 17, 2025, 3:45 PM
Williams (neck) practiced on a limited basis Wednesday, Nick Harris of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.
Analysis: Williams missed a portion of the first half of this past Sunday's loss to the Vikings due to a shoulder injury, but he returned to action after halftime and finished with 15 carries for 91 yards and one touchdown on a 28 percent snap share. Upon the Cowboys posting their first Week 16 practice report, his health concern has been reclassified as neck, and he'll have two more opportunities to get back to full this week before the team potentially tags him with a designation ahead of Sunday's contest against the Chargers. Malik Davis was the RB to benefit most with Williams banged up Week 15, as the former handled 52 percent of the snaps and turned 10 touches into 37 total yards and one TD.
CeeDee Lamb
CeeDee Lamb Comes down with illness
Wed, Dec 17, 2025, 3:38 PM
Lamb didn't practice Wednesday due to an illness, Clarence Hill Jr. of AllDLLS.com reports.
Analysis: Per Nick Harris of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, Lamb wasn't present at the media-access portion of Wednesday's session, and now the reason has been revealed. Lamb will have two more chances to practice this week, or else he'll be at risk of entering the weekend with a designation for Sunday's game against the Chargers.
CeeDee Lamb
CeeDee Lamb Not spotted at practice
Wed, Dec 17, 2025, 1:35 PM
Lamb is not participating in the early portion of Wednesday's practice open to the media, Nick Harris of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.
Analysis: Lamb cleared the NFL's concussion protocol in time to suit up for Dallas' loss to the Vikings in Week 15, in which he tallied his third consecutive 100-yard performance. Now, it remains to be seen whether the star wide receiver is dealing with another injury or simply receiving a day of rest. Lamb and the Cowboys' passing game are staring down a difficult home matchup against the Chargers' defense on Sunday.
Phil Mafah
Phil Mafah Practice window opens
Wed, Dec 17, 2025, 1:03 PM
Mafah (shoulder) was designated to return from the injured reserve list Wednesday.
Analysis: The rookie running back from Clemson was placed on IR in late August due to a shoulder issue, but it now appears he's nearing a return. Mafah has yet to make his NFL debut after posting 1,115 rushing yards, 103 receiving yards and eight total touchdowns during his final collegiate season. He must still be activated to the Cowboys' active roster in order to suit up for the Week 16 matchup against the Chargers.
Jonathan Mingo
Jonathan Mingo First catch of season
Mon, Dec 15, 2025, 10:24 AM
Mingo caught his only target for a 25-yard gain in Sunday's 34-26 loss to the Vikings.
Analysis: His first catch of the season came on the Cowboys' final drive, helping to set up a Brandon Aubrey field goal that got the home side to within a score, but they couldn't recover the subsequent onside kick. Mingo has seen only two targets in three games since making his 2025 debut in Week 12, and it would likely take a rash of injuries ahead of him on the depth chart to get him on the fantasy radar.
KaVontae Turpin
KaVontae Turpin Limited usage on offense
Mon, Dec 15, 2025, 10:20 AM
Turpin gained two rushing yards on his lone carry, caught both his targets for 10 yards and added 124 yards on four kickoff returns in Sunday's 34-26 loss to the Vikings.
Analysis: The 29-year-old speedster continues to be a force on special teams while seeing limited opportunities on offense. Turpin has topped 100 return yards in five of the last six games, and on the season his 1,336 kickoff return yards are third in the NFL behind Tennessee's Chimere Dike (1,413) and Minnesota's Myles Price (1,405). Turpin does have at least three touches on offense in four straight games however, putting together a modest 155 scrimmage yards during that stretch.
Ryan Flournoy
Ryan Flournoy Four grabs in Sunday's loss
Mon, Dec 15, 2025, 10:16 AM
Flournoy caught four of five targets for 40 yards in Sunday's 34-26 loss to the Vikings.
Analysis: The four grabs and 40 yards wound up second on the Cowboys behind CeeDee Lamb's 6-111-0 line. Flournoy has caught at least three passes in three straight games, putting together a 16-189-1 line on 21 targets over that stretch, but as long as both Lamb and George Pickens are healthy, the second-year wideout will be a risky fantasy option.
Malik Davis
Malik Davis Finds end zone in Week 15 loss
Mon, Dec 15, 2025, 10:13 AM
Davis carried the ball eight times for 21 yards and a touchdown and caught two of three targets for 16 yards in Sunday's 34-26 loss to the Vikings.
Analysis: Javonte Williams picked up a shoulder injury on the Cowboys' opening drive that cost him the rest of the first half, and in his absence Davis punched in a one-yard TD in the second quarter. The two backs then split backfield duties after Williams' return to begin the second half. Davis has gotten into the end zone twice in the last three games, but Sunday's 10 touches were a season high, and his fantasy appeal will be low as long as Williams is healthy. If the shoulder issue proves to be a limiting factor for Dallas' RB1 however, Davis could see elevated volume again in Week 16 against the Chargers.
Javonte Williams
Javonte Williams Strong showing after injury scare
Sun, Dec 14, 2025, 11:25 PM
Williams rushed the ball 15 times for 91 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 34-26 loss to the Vikings.
Analysis: Williams picked up 13 yards and a touchdown on the Cowboys' first offensive possession, but he then sat out the rest of the first half with a shoulder injury. While he rotated with Malik Davis more than usual in the second half, Williams managed to run and put together a good showing with chunk gains of 21, 15 and 11 yards in the final two quarters. After averaging only 3.4 yards per carry combined across the last two games, this was a solid bounceback effort for Williams, particularly considering he almost certainly wasn't playing at 100 percent.
Dak Prescott
Dak Prescott Modest showing against Minnesota
Sun, Dec 14, 2025, 11:19 PM
Prescott completed 23 of 38 passes for 294 yards, no touchdowns and no interceptions in Sunday's 34-26 loss to the Vikings. He added one rush for two yards.
Analysis: Prescott led the Cowboys' offense effectively for most of the game, but the unit continuously stalled in the red zone. The team managed only two touchdowns on five trips inside the red zone, both of which came on the ground. That led to Prescott's third scoreless game of the season, and he also fell short of 300 passing yards for the first time in his last three matchups. Prescott's track record suggests he'll bounce back in Week 16 against the Chargers, but he'll draw another tough matchup.
CeeDee Lamb
CeeDee Lamb Third straight 100-yard showing
Sun, Dec 14, 2025, 11:07 PM
Lamb recorded six catches on 10 targets for 111 yards in Sunday's 34-26 loss to Minnesota.
Analysis: The Cowboys' pass catchers universally disappointed in Sunday night's loss, with Lamb being the only exception. He paced the team in every statistical category, while commanding double-digit targets for the sixth time in 11 games this season. Lamb was efficient with the opportunity primarily due to a pair of 30-yard receptions, and he also topped 100 receiving yards for the third straight game.
Hunter Luepke
Hunter Luepke Done for night
Sun, Dec 14, 2025, 9:22 PM
Luepke (concussion) has been ruled out for the rest of Sunday night's contest against the Vikings, Todd Archer of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Luepke suffered a concussion during Sunday Night Football, bringing his night to a premature end. The Cowboys will have to operate without a fullback for the remainder of the game.
Javonte Williams
Javonte Williams Returns to SNF after halftime
Sun, Dec 14, 2025, 9:22 PM
Williams (shoulder) has returned to Sunday's game against the Vikings, Todd Archer of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Williams is back in the game after halftime. He didn't play in the second quarter after being deemed questionable to return due to a shoulder injury in the first quarter. Malik Davis and Hunter Luepke were Dallas' backfield options during Williams' absence, but Luepke won't return due to a concussion.
Javonte Williams
Javonte Williams Hurts shoulder after early TD
Sun, Dec 14, 2025, 8:01 PM
Williams (shoulder) is questionable to return to Sunday's game against the Vikings, Todd Archer of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Williams remained on the sideline without his helmet after being examined by trainers, per Archer. Prior to getting injured in the first quarter, Williams rushed six times for 13 yards and a touchdown. Malik Davis is set to lead Dallas' backfield while Williams is unavailable.
Jaydon Blue
Jaydon Blue Healthy scratch Week 15
Sun, Dec 14, 2025, 6:05 PM
Blue (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Vikings.
Analysis: The rookie fifth-rounder hasn't played since Week 8 against the Broncos, and his absence will extend to six games after being made inactive for Sunday night's contest. Blue is unlikely to play unless one of Javonte Williams or Malik Davis were to miss time.
Jalen Tolbert
Jalen Tolbert Won't play Week 15
Sun, Dec 14, 2025, 6:03 PM
Tolbert (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Vikings.
Analysis: It's the third time in four games that Tolbert will be a healthy scratch. Ryan Flournoy, KaVontae Turpin and Jonathan Mingo will be the top depth options for the Cowboys behind CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens for Sunday night's game. Tolbert's next opportunity to play is Week 16 against the Chargers on Sunday, Dec. 21.
Jake Ferguson
Jake Ferguson Active Sunday
Sun, Dec 14, 2025, 5:57 PM
Ferguson (calf) is active for Sunday's game against the Vikings.
Analysis: Ferguson entered the weekend as questionable following an LP/DNP/LP practice regimen due to a calf injury, but comments from Cowboys EVP Stephen Jones (per Jon Machota of The Athletic) on Friday and a report from Ian Rapoport of NFL Network on Saturday evening indicated that the tight end was likely to play Week 15. Indeed, that has been confirmed, and Ferguson will continue to operate as one of QB Dak Prescott's top pass catchers along with WRs CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens.
