Mike Conley dishes out seven assists in loss
Mon, Mar 9, 2020, 11:47 PM
Mike Conley shot 4-of-12 from the field and 2-of-2 from the foul line in Monday’s 101-92 loss to Toronto, tallying 13 points, six rebounds, seven assists, one steal and three 3-pointers in 34 minutes.
Analysis: After scoring 25 points in Friday’s win over the Celtics in Boston, Conley’s scored a total of 25 in the team games since. The hamstring injury and Utah’s role definition issues earlier this season did the veteran point guard no favors when it came to his adjusting to a new team, and that had a negative impact on his fantasy value for the entire season. But over the last two weeks Conley’s provided sixth-round value in nine-cat formats, averaging 16.1 points, 3.3 rebounds, 5.3 assists, 1.3 steals and 3.1 3-pointers per game. Utah has three more games to play this week, including a back-to-back scheduled for Friday and Saturday.
Joe Ingles
Joe Ingles scores 20 points off the bench
Mon, Mar 9, 2020, 11:34 PM
Joe Ingles played 32 minutes in Monday’s 101-92 loss to the Raptors, accounting for a team-high 20 points (8-of-12 FGs), five rebounds, six assists, two steals and four 3-pointers.
Analysis: The 20 points are the most that Ingles has scored in a game since January 14, when he tallied 27 in a win over the Nets. In fact, prior to Monday he reached double figures just four times since that 27-point effort. Ingles hasn’t been as impactful coming off the bench as he was as a starter when Mike Conley was sidelined, and his fantasy value has taken a hit as a result. At this point he’s a specialist in standard leagues, serving as a solid source for assists, steals and 3-pointers.
Royce O'Neale
Royce O’Neale finishes with 15/7/2/1/1 line
Mon, Mar 9, 2020, 11:29 PM
Royce O’Neale tallied 15 points (6-of-11 FGs, 1-of-2 FTs), seven rebounds, two assists, one steal, one blocked shot and two 3-pointers in 33 minutes Monday vs. the Raptors.
Analysis: O’Neale needed this effort in a big way, as he went scoreless in Saturday’s win over the Pistons and scored a total of 10 points in the three games prior. The fact that he’s starting makes him worth a look in standard leagues, especially for fantasy owners in need of rebounding and defensive stats. Monday’s scoring effort was a welcome bonus, as he’s scored in double figures just five times in 2020.
Rudy Gobert
Rudy Gobert ejected during fourth quarter
Mon, Mar 9, 2020, 10:32 PM
Rudy Gobert was ejected from Saturday's 101-92 loss to Toronto after getting into an altercation with OG Anunoby.
Analysis: Both Gobert and Anunoby were sent to the showers early as a result of their disagreement. The two-time defending Defensive Player of the Year didn't have a good night, scoring six points (1-of-4 FGs, 4-of-6 FTs), four rebounds, two steals and one blocked shot in 32 minutes. Gobert's offensive touches have decreased in recent games, and while he continues to provide high value as a rebounder and defender the ceiling is lowered a bit due to the Jazz guards failing to get him the ball more.
Mike Conley
Mike Conley getting his rhythm back
Mon, Mar 9, 2020, 9:04 AM
NBA.com
After a tough start with the Jazz, Mike Conley said he's in a "great place" now.
Analysis: "My teammates have been behind me this whole time," he said. "It’s been a frustrating road for all of us. They know how good I am. I know how good I am. I just have to sit back and let people say what they’re going to say until it starts to work. Finally, we’re turning a corner." Conley is outside the top-150 in 9-cat even on a per-game basis this season, but slowly but surely he's starting to stabilize with 8th-round value over the last month with 15.7 points, 4.9 assists and 2.4 triples. Conley and the Jazz are one of six teams with four games this week.
Mike Conley
Mike Conley plays 30 minutes vs. Detroit
Sat, Mar 7, 2020, 8:43 PM
Mike Conley accounted for 12 points (4-of-12 FGs, 2-of-2 FTs), one rebound, four assists, three steals and two 3-pointers in 30 minutes during Saturday’s 111-105 win over the Pistons.
Analysis: Conley played in both ends of a back-to-back for the first time this season, and he took on his usual workload. Whenever he plays Joe Ingles (four points, two rebounds, two assists, two steals and one block in 26 minutes) takes a hit fantasy-wise, as he drops to the second unit and doesn’t have the ball in his hands as much. Utah has another back-to-back on the schedule for next Friday/Saturday, and given the fact that Conley was able to play in both ends this week he may be good to go for that one as well.
Donovan Mitchell
Donovan Mitchell scores 25 points in road win
Sat, Mar 7, 2020, 8:41 PM
Donovan Mitchell shot 8-of-14 from the field and 7-of-8 from the foul line in Saturday’s 111-105 win over Detroit, finishing with 25 points, five rebounds, one assist and two 3-pointers in 34 minutes.
Analysis: Mitchell didn’t have the best night in Friday’s win over the Celtics, as he shot 3-of-15 from the field and finished with 11 points. He got back on track Saturday in Detroit, shooting better than 50 percent from the field for the first time in six games. Utah, which finished its four-game road trip with a 4-0 mark, has four games on the schedule for next week with three being played at home. The schedule is definitely a positive for those who have Mitchell, as it’s fantasy playoff time in many leagues.
Bojan Bogdanovic
Bojan Bogdanovic torches Pistons for 32 PTS
Sat, Mar 7, 2020, 8:40 PM
Bojan Bogdanovic played 34 minutes in Saturday’s 111-105 win over the Pistons, scoring 32 points (12-of-18 FGs, 5-of-5 FTs) with five rebounds, two assists and three 3-pointers.
Analysis: Bogdanovic surpassed the 30-point mark for the first time since January 27, bouncing back in a big way from his disappointing showing Friday night. He’s now scored 21 or more in four of Utah’s last five games, and for the season he’s providing mid-round value in nine-cat formats. The Jazz have four games next week, which will make Bogdanovic a popular choice as the fantasy playoffs in most leagues get underway.

NBA Injury Report
Mike Conley is not listed on the injury report for Saturday's game against the Pistons.
Analysis: Conley is set to take part in his first full back-to-back of the season. He played 35 minutes and led the Jazz to a big road win in Boston with 25 points. The team was going to see how Conley felt Saturday morning before making a decision on his status, so it appears that he's feeling good. Get him in your lineups.

Tony Jones on Twitter
Mike Conley led the Jazz with 25 points (9-of-16 FGs, 1-of-1 FTs) on Friday against the Celtics, adding three rebounds, five assists, three steals and six 3-pointers in 35 minutes.
Analysis: Conley's only blemish was his five turnovers, though he did set a new season-high in triples. This type of performance is exactly what the Jazz had in mind when they traded for him. Donovan Mitchell had an off night, but Utah still won on the back of Conley. This was the first leg of a back-to-back for the Jazz, though the team reportedly expects Conley to play on Saturday in Detroit. He had previously been sitting out half of back-to-backs up to this point. The final decision will come after the team sees how Conley is feeling after he wakes up in the morning, so we'll consider him questionable until we hear more.
Donovan Mitchell
Donovan Mitchell scores 11 points on 15 shots
Fri, Mar 6, 2020, 10:59 PM
Adam Himmelsbach on Twitter
Donovan Mitchell struggled mightily on Friday, scoring just 11 points on 3-of-15 attempts with four rebounds, two assists, one steal and three 3-pointers in 33 minutes against the Celtics.
Analysis: Mitchell went 2-of-2 from the free throw line to help boost his point total. He and three other starters tied for a team low +/- of -20, with the Jazz making a big run while they were on the bench. Utah still managed to win a tough road game even with Mitchell struggling because Mike Conley turned back the clock and dropped 25 points, which is what the front office envisioned when they made the trade for him this past summer. The Jazz are one of just a handful of teams with four games next week, so Mitchell will have plenty of chances to bounce back.
Tony Bradley
Tony Bradley blocks three shots in win vs BOS
Fri, Mar 6, 2020, 10:57 PM
Tony Bradley scored six points on 3-of-5 shooting with four rebounds, one assist and three blocks in 15 minutes against the Celtics on Friday.
Analysis: Bradley tied his career-high in blocks in the big road win in Boston. He operates as the backup center behind Rudy Gobert, which leaves him next to no fantasy value.
Mike Conley
Mike Conley plays well, Jazz win 112-104
Wed, Mar 4, 2020, 10:16 PM
The Athletic
Mike Conley had 17 points and six assists on Wednesday, making 6-of-9 FGs and 3-of-4 FTs with two 3-pointers in a 112-104 win at New York.
Analysis: Conley played 27 minutes with just one turnover, and the only negative was zero steals. He recently opened up about his disappointing play thus far in Utah, saying, "Nobody is more frustrated than me ... My role, it’s just not the same as it was in Memphis, and it won’t be the same ... I have to try and be aggressive and make plays." He's had flashes of confident play in recent weeks, and looked good tonight, but fantasy owners should keep expectations reasonable. His usage rate (23.0%) is the lowest since 2015-16, his assist rate (22.2%) ties a career-low, and his True Shooting (51.6%) is the lowest since his rookie season. Hopefully tonight's solid game (against a bad defense) gives him some momentum.
Donovan Mitchell
Donovan Mitchell scores 23 with eight dimes
Wed, Mar 4, 2020, 10:16 PM
Donovan Mitchell scored 23 points during Wednesday's win vs. the Knicks, while handing out eight assists and swiping two steals in 34 minutes.
Analysis: Mitchell made 9-of-21 shots and 4-of-4 free throws tonight, though he added a modest one 3-pointer and one rebound. He leads the Western Conference in total points scored since Feb. 8 and a large part of that is due to his durability -- he's missed one game all season. For the past month he's averaging 24.6 points, 2.5 triples, 4.4 boards, 4.3 assists and 1.0 steals, all with solid efficiency. It's exactly the type of production owners hoped for on draft day.
Jordan Clarkson
Jordan Clarkson quiet in 21 bench minutes
Wed, Mar 4, 2020, 10:15 PM
Jordan Clarkson had a forgettable game on Wednesday, coming off the bench for seven points, two steals and one assist in 21 minutes.
Analysis: Clarkson shot 2-of-6 from the field and it's not that he didn't play well -- he simply wasn't needed to do more than this tonight. Mike Conley is starting to look more confident and Joe Ingles has the reins of the second-unit offense, so Clarkson is very much boom-or-bust depending upon the opponent. If he's not scoring in bunches, he's not helping your fantasy squad.
Bojan Bogdanovic
Bojan Bogdanovic scores 23 points vs. Knicks
Wed, Mar 4, 2020, 10:14 PM
Bojan Bogdanovic made 7-of-15 field goals and 6-of-7 free throws for 23 points on Wednesday, adding three 3-pointers, one assist and one block in 33 minutes.
Analysis: The Jazz have won three straight games after a sluggish start after the All-Star break. They've been hot and cold throughout the season, but have still held onto the No. 5 seed and sit just one game behind Houston for No. 4. Bogdanovic has quietly been a major reason for that success, averaging a career-high 20.5 points on 44.6% shooting, including 3.1 triples on 41.7% from deep. There aren't many supporting stats, but you knew that on draft day.
Royce O'Neale
Royce O'Neale scores 12 points vs. CLE
Mon, Mar 2, 2020, 9:16 PM
Royce O'Neale had another good line vs. the Cavaliers on Monday, hitting 4-of-6 shots (all from beyond the arc) for 12 points with seven rebounds, three assists and one block.
Analysis: The Cavaliers were leaving him wide open in order to swarm Rudy Gobert, but they ended up getting burned by both. And it's not like Royce is a bad shooter either, as he's hitting a career-high 41% from deep after tonight. He's basically a jack of all trades in fantasy because he can do a little bit of everything, averaging top-70 numbers in 9-cat over the last two weeks with 9.5 points, 6.0 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 1.2 steals, 0.7 blocks and 1.8 triples. As long as he's starting, he'll be a low-end option for category leagues.
Bojan Bogdanovic
Bojan Bogdanovic scores 28 w/ six assists
Mon, Mar 2, 2020, 9:10 PM
Clutch Points on Twitter
Bojan Bogdanovic had one of his best games of the season vs. the Cavaliers on Monday, scoring 28 points with seven rebounds, six assists, one steal and five triples in 34 minutes.
Analysis: He was feeling it tonight, nutmegging a player for one of his dimes (link below) and finding Rudy Gobert multiple times after the big man complained about not getting the ball enough last week. Bojan was struggling mightily after the All-Star break but it looks like he has found his rhythm again as he was coming off a 21-point game on Friday. We wish he was always this good with the peripheral stats but fantasy owners will happily accept that he's elite in two categories with this being his 17th game of the season with at least 25 points and his 12th game with at least five triples.
Rudy Gobert
Rudy Gobert scores 20 points with five blocks
Mon, Mar 2, 2020, 9:01 PM
Rudy Gobert had a monster evening vs. the Cavaliers on Monday in a 126-113 win, racking up 20 points (8-of-9 FGs, 4-of-4 FTs), nine rebounds, one assist, two steals and five blocks in 34 minutes.
Analysis: The Cavs collapsed the paint on him when he rolled to the basket but it didn't even matter. Gobert recently complained about a lack of touches, so it was encouraging to see him get nine shots tonight after getting a combined eight attempts in his previous two. The squeaky wheel gets the grease, so hopefully the Jazz make a concerted effort to keep their big man happy.
Jordan Clarkson
Jordan Clarkson scores 20 points vs. Wizards
Fri, Feb 28, 2020, 11:51 PM
Jordan Clarkson had 20 points, eight rebounds, two assists, two steals and two triples in just 23 minutes vs. the Wizards on Friday.
Analysis: Apart from a dud vs. the Celtics on Wednesday, Clarkson has been lights out for the Jazz. Over the last month, he's actually been the most productive player in 9-cat leagues with top-60 value. In that stretch, he's averaging 19.5 points, 3.7 rebounds, 1.9 assists, 0.8 steals and 2.8 triples. He's shooting an unsustainable 53% from the field and Mike Conley is showing signs of finding his groove, but Clarkson should still be held even if his best is likely behind us.
