Joel Embiid (appendicitis) probable for Game 7
Fri, May 1, 2026, 11:08 AM
NBA Injury Report
Joel Embiid (appendicitis) is probable for Saturday's Game 7 against the Celtics.
Analysis: Embiid is on the 76ers' initial injury report for Game 7, but it would be stunning if the 7-footer were not on the court Saturday night. He finished Game 6 two assists shy of a triple-double as Philadelphia extended the series. Look for Embiid to take on his usual heavy workload as the 76ers look to beat the Celtics in a playoff series for the first time since 1982.
Joel Embiid
Joel Embiid posts 19/10/8 line in Game 6 victory
Thu, Apr 30, 2026, 4:57 PM
Joel Embiid finished Thursday's win over the Celtics with 19 points (6-of-18 FGs, 6-of-7 FTs), 10 rebounds, eight assists, one steal and one three-pointer.
Analysis: In his third game back on the floor, Embiid put forth another solid performance. He didn't shoot the ball efficiently but still nearly found his way to the 20-point mark. The former league MVP made up for his inefficient scoring with good work on the glass and tremendous work as a facilitator. His balanced performance nearly led to a triple-double, which helped the Sixers force a Game 7.
Tyrese Maxey
Maxey scores 30, helps PHI force a Game 7
Thu, Apr 30, 2026, 4:55 PM
Tyrese Maxey added 30 points (11-of-22 FGs, 5-of-5 FTs), two rebounds, five assists, two steals and three three-pointers in Thursday's win over the Celtics.
Analysis: Maxey's scoring was a significant factor in the 76ers' Game 6 win. He shot well overall, especially outside the arc, and also finished as one of Philadelphia's leaders in assists on the evening. He had offensive help from several of his teammates, as well, which could be a key for the 76ers in a win-or-go-home situation on Saturday. They'll likely rely heavily on Maxey, once again.
Paul George
Paul George adds 23 points in win over Celtics
Thu, Apr 30, 2026, 4:41 PM
Paul George finished Thursday's win over the Celtics with 23 points (8-of-17 FGs, 2-of-2 FTs), four rebounds, three assists, two steals, one block and five three-pointers.
Analysis: George reached the 20-point mark for the first time in the opening-round series on Thursday, which played a big role in Philadelphia forcing a Game 7. His biggest contributions came from beyond the arc, where he accounted for nearly half of the 76ers' three-point total. The veteran forward also had some fine moments on defense during his 40 minutes. He'll have a chance to log another strong outing on Saturday in the series-deciding game.

Joel Embiid (appendicitis) is available to play against the Celtics on Thursday.
Analysis: On the heels of a 39-minute outing, in which he scored 33 points in Philadelphia's win, the former league MVP will take the floor on Thursday with a chance for another strong performance. Embiid has battled injuries throughout the season, but his late arrival to this opening-round series has been difference-making. He'll likely carry a heavy workload, as the Sixers try to avoid elimination.

NBA Injury Report
Joel Embiid (appendicitis) is probable for Thursday's Game 6 against the Celtics.
Analysis: After playing 34 minutes in his return to the 76ers' lineup for Game 4, Embiid logged 39 minutes in Tuesday's Game 5 victory. He'll likely take on a similar workload for Game 6 as the 76ers look to force a Game 7 on Saturday in Boston.
Paul George
Paul George produces 16/9/7/2 line vs. Boston
Tue, Apr 28, 2026, 3:59 PM
Paul George finished with 16 points (6-of-13 FGs), nine rebounds, seven assists, two steals and four three-pointers against the Celtics on Tuesday.
Analysis: George hasn't had a big scoring night in this series, but he has been a consistent contributor on offense. That continued in this game, as he provided a well-rounded line in the win. George has been productive since returning from a 25-game suspension, and he has been able to impact the game on both ends of the floor, despite being past the point of his career where he needs to lead the team in scoring. The 76ers will need him to continue to play like this in Game 6 on Thursday.
Quentin Grimes
Quentin Grimes chips in 18 points off bench
Tue, Apr 28, 2026, 3:49 PM
Quentin Grimes provided a boost off the bench with 18 points (5-of-8 FGs), two rebounds, one block and four three-pointers against the Celtics on Tuesday.
Analysis: Grimes didn't do much during the first three games of this series, but after contributing 12 points and six assists in Game 4, he was able to make an even larger impact in this one. That contributed heavily to the 76ers securing the upset win in Boston to extend the series. Grimes was able to make an impact on both ends of the floor, and if he's able to continue to contribute in Game 6, there is a strong chance this series will shift back to Boston for a Game 7.
Tyrese Maxey
Tyrese Maxey tallies 25/10/5/2/1 line vs. Boston
Tue, Apr 28, 2026, 3:44 PM
Tyrese Maxey posted a full line on Tuesday with 25 points (10-of-18 FGs), 10 rebounds, five assists, two steals, one block and three three-pointers against the Celtics.
Analysis: Maxey took a backseat to Joel Embiid once again, but he still got enough touches and shots to stuff the stat sheet in the Game 5 win. He has scored at least 20 points in every game this series, which is a trend that will need to continue for the 76eres to have a chance to win. Game 6 will be in Philadelphia on Thursday, where Maxey will look to keep up the scoring. This was also his best rebounding performance of the season, which is a trend that will hopefully continue.
Joel Embiid
Joel Embiid drops 33 points, 76ers force Game 6
Tue, Apr 28, 2026, 3:40 PM
Joel Embiid led the 76ers with 33 points (12-of-23 FGs, 9-of-10 FTs), four rebounds, eight assists and one block in a 113-97 win over the Celtics in Game 5 on Tuesday.
Analysis: Embiid returned to the lineup in Game 4, and while the box score stats were strong, he wasn't efficient as a scorer. He was much better in that regard in this game, which led to the 76ers getting their second win of the series in Boston. Embiid missed the first three games, but if he's rolling like this with the series shifting back to Philadelphia, they could have enough momentum to come back from down 3-1, though they'll need to win in Boston a third time. Game 6 is scheduled for Thursday

NBA Injury Report
Joel Embiid (appendicitis) is available to play against the Celtics in Game 5 on Tuesday.
Analysis: Embiid played 34 minutes in Game 4 on Sunday, and he should play a similar role in what is a win-or-go-home game for the 76ers. He contributed 26 points, 10 rebounds and six assists in Game 4's blowout loss. Embiid will need to be far more efficient for the 76ers to keep their season alive.

Mon, Apr 27, 2026, 11:11 AM
Joel Embiid (apendicitis) is probable for Tuesday's Game 5 against the Celtics.
Analysis: Embiid had 26 points, 10 rebounds and six assists in Sunday's Game 4 loss to the Celtics, his first action in two and a half weeks due to an emergency appendectomy. Listed as probable for Game 5, Embiid is likely to play as the 76ers look to avoid elimination.
Paul George
Paul George records 16 points, three steals
Sun, Apr 26, 2026, 3:40 PM
Paul George recorded 16 points (6-of-13 FGs, 1-of-1 FTs), four rebounds, one assist, three steals, one block and three three-pointers in Sunday's Game 4 loss to the Celtics.
Analysis: Through four games, George still has not recorded a 20-point game in this series. While the 76ers had Joel Embiid back in the lineup for Game 4, they need more scoring from George to have a chance of extending the series to Game 6 on Thursday. George recorded a complete stat line in Game 4, but the career résumé strongly suggests that he is capable of doing more. Game 5 is scheduled for Tuesday in Boston.
Tyrese Maxey
Tyrese Maxey posts 22 points, six assists Sunday
Sun, Apr 26, 2026, 3:39 PM
Tyrese Maxey accounted for 22 points (7-of-14 FGs, 4-of-4 FTs), two rebounds, six assists, one block and four three-pointers in Sunday's Game 4 loss to the Celtics.
Analysis: Maxey shot the ball well in Game 4 and committed just one turnover, but the 76ers did not have enough firepower to run with the Celtics. Backcourt sidekick VJ Edgecombe (6/4/1/1) and wing Kelly Oubre Jr. (two points, four rebounds, one assist and one block) shot a combined 2-of-15 from the field, and the 76ers could not overcome those struggles, even with Joel Embiid back in the lineup. Maxey and the 76ers now head to Boston for Game 5 on Tuesday, needing a win to stave off elimination.
Joel Embiid
Joel Embiid (appendicitis) scores 26 in return
Sun, Apr 26, 2026, 3:39 PM
Joel Embiid (appendicitis) finished Sunday's Game 4 loss to the Celtics with 26 points (9-of-21 FGs, 7-of-9 FTs), 10 rebounds, six assists, one steal, one block and one three-pointer.
Analysis: Just 17 days removed from undergoing an emergency appendectomy, Embiid was back in the 76ers' starting lineup on Sunday. While his return did not result in a 76ers victory, as the Celtics had too much firepower, the 7-footer deserves credit for gutting out 34 minutes. And Embiid was effective overall, recording a double-double with six assists. With Philadelphia's season on the line, Embiid will likely take on a similar workload in Game 5 on Tuesday.

Sun, Apr 26, 2026, 12:35 PM
Derek Bodner
Tyrese Maxey, VJ Edgecombe, Kelly Oubre Jr., Paul George and Joel Embiid will start Sunday's Game 4 against the Celtics.
Analysis: Less than three weeks removed from undergoing an emergency appendectomy, Embiid is going to give it a go for Sunday's pivotal Game 4. How much he'll be able to play remains to be seen, but having the former MVP on the court is huge for the 76ers. Adem Bona heads to the bench, and the other four starters are unchanged.
Kelly Oubre

Kyle Neubeck
Kelly Oubre Jr. (adductor) is available for Sunday's Game 4 against the Celtics.
Analysis: Oubre is available after being considered questionable on the 76ers' initial injury report. He'll occupy his usual place in the starting lineup and should log heavy minutes. Oubre played 40 minutes in Game 3 on Friday.

Sun, Apr 26, 2026, 11:52 AM
NBA Injury Report
Joel Embiid (appendicitis) has been upgraded to questionable for Sunday's Game 4 against the Celtics.
Analysis: Initially doubtful, Embiid is trending toward being available for the first time in these playoffs. If he's able to play, fewer minutes will be available to Adem Bona and Andre Drummond. However, given the injury and the time that Embiid has missed, there should still be rotation minutes available for Bona and Drummond.

Analysis: As was the case ahead of Game 3 on Friday, Embiid is considered doubtful on the 76ers' initial injury report.
