Jaylen Clark
Report: Wolves re-signing Clark to 3-year deal
Fri, Jun 26, 2026, 7:47 PM
Christopher Hine
The Minnesota Star Tribune's Christopher Hine reports the Wolves are re-signing Jaylen Cark to a three-year deal.
Analysis: Clark's production this past season didn't differ much from the prior. While scoring, rebounding, and assisting at similar levels, he regressed as a shooter in his second NBA season, posting averages of 4.0 points, 1.8 rebounds and 0.6 assists in 13.1 minutes per game. The wing and guard rooms remain crowded in Minnesota with the reported acquisition of LaMelo Ball and the re-signing of Ayo Dosunmu. However, Clark's three-year deal suggests the Timberwolves still value him and want him to remain in the nightly rotation.
Donte DiVincenzo
Report: T-Wolves won't trade Donte DiVincenzo
Thu, Jun 25, 2026, 7:53 AM
Jon Krawczynski
The Timberwolves won't trade Donte DiVincenzo, according to the Athletic's Jon Krawczynski.
Analysis: DiVincenzo appeared in all 82 regular season games last year, but suffered a ruptured right Achilles tendon in the first round of the playoffs. According to Krawczynski, the Timberwolves need to add a power forward and they need more shooting, but that won't come at the expense of trading DiVincenzo. The 29-year-old shooting guard is still expected to miss a significant portion of the upcoming season.
Josh Green
Shams: Josh Green headed to T-Wolves with LaMelo
Thu, Jun 25, 2026, 3:54 AM
Shams Charania
ESPN's Shams Charania reports the Timberwolves have acquired Josh Green and LaMelo Ball from the Hornets in exchange for Naz Reid, a 2033 unprotected first-round pick, three first-round pick swaps and three second-round picks.
Analysis: Green only appeared in 57 games for the Hornets last year and didn't start any games for the first time in his career. His 15.7 minutes per game were his lowest since the 2021-22 season. While some may view him as a throw-in for this trade, Green averaged at least 25 minutes in the three seasons before last year. A career 38 percent three-point shooter, Green certainly adds value to a Timberwolves bench unit that lost Naz Reid in this trade.
LaMelo Ball
Shams: LaMelo Ball traded to Timberwolves
Thu, Jun 25, 2026, 3:29 AM
Shams Charania
ESPN's Shams Charania reports the Hornets have traded LaMelo Ball to the Timberwolves.
Analysis: Charania reported late Wednesday night that the Hornets were fielding offers for Ball and NBA Insider Marc Stein pinpointed the Timberwolves as one of the interested teams. Now both sides have agreed on a deal that sends Ball along with Josh Green to Minnesota in exchange for Naz Reid, a 2033 unprotected first-round pick, three first-round pick swaps and three second-round picks. ESPN's Brian Windhorst reported that Anthony Edwards was frustrated with how he's been double-teamed since the team traded Karl Anthony-Towns. Now the Timberwolves have sent a haul to the Hornets to pair Edwards with Ball in the backcourt. Ball stayed healthy playing 72 games last season and is in line for similar fantasy production in Minnesota while the Hornets' Kon Knueppel and Brandon Miller could see increased usage with Ball no longer in Charlotte.
Xavier Cooks
Timberwolves pick Trey Kaufman-Renn at No. 59
Wed, Jun 24, 2026, 4:29 PM
Timberwolves selected Trey Kaufman-Renn with the No. 59 pick in the NBA Draft.
Analysis: After coming off the bench as a freshman, Kaufman-Renn started all 112 games in his final three seasons at Purdue. While his scoring output slipped from the 2024-25 campaign to this past season, the rugged 6-foot-9 forward remained productive with averages of 14.2 points, 8.3 rebounds and 2.5 assists, shooting 57.8 percent from the field and 63.6 percent from the foul line. Kaufman-Renn, who did most of his damage offensively in the paint, increased his rebounds and assists in each of his four college seasons. The combination of touch around the basket and footwork should serve him well at the next level. The question is whether he'll get the opportunity needed to provide the Timberwolves with additional frontcourt depth.

Timberwolves grab Isaiah Evans and pick No. 33
Wed, Jun 24, 2026, 2:32 PM
Timberwolves selected Isaiah Evans with the No. 33 pick in the NBA Draft.
Analysis: After coming off the bench as a freshman, the 6-foot-6 Evans started all 38 games for the Blue Devils as a sophomore last season. A third-team All-ACC selection, he averaged 15.0 points, 3.2 rebounds, 1.3 assists, 0.7 steals, 0.7 blocks and 2.7 three-pointers on a team that won the ACC and reached the Elite 8. While he does need to fill out physically, Evans has the length and shooting ability to provide value as a 3-and-D wing in the NBA. While the Nets officially made the pick, Evans is headed to Minnesota as part of the Julius Randle trade. With Donte DiVincenzo (Achilles) set to miss a significant portion of the 2026-27 season, there will be room for Evans to earn rotation minutes.
Anthony Edwards
Windhorst: teams keeping eye on Anthony Edwards
Tue, Jun 23, 2026, 4:28 AM
ESPN's Brian Windhorst believes Anthony Edwards could be the next superstar who's available in the trade market.
Analysis: Windhorst, appearing on the Hoop Collective podcast, wondered aloud about what Edwards might be thinking in the aftermath of Giannis Antetokounmpo being traded to the Heat as well as the Timberwolves trading Julius Randle in a salary dump. Windhorst said Edwards has been frustrated with how he's double teamed by opponents since Minnesota trade Karl Anthony-Towns two years ago. The Timberwolves have to add more offense this offseason to alleviate some of that burden on Edwards. While no trade is imminent, don't expect Edwards to have a shortage of suitors if he eventually requests a trade.
Ayo Dosunmu
Report: MIN, Ayo Dosunmu agree to 5-year deal
Tue, Jun 23, 2026, 2:33 AM
Shams Charania
ESPN's Shams Charania reports that Ayo Dosunmu intends to sign a five-year, $112 million contract to remain with the Timberwolves.
Analysis: Not long after it was reported that the Timberwolves traded Julius Randle to the Nets as part of a three-team deal, Dosunmu reportedly agreed to an extension. Acquired from the Bulls at the February trade deadline, the 6-foot-5 guard averaged 14.4 points, 4.2 rebounds, 3.5 assists, 1.0 steals and 1.5 three-pointers, shooting 52.1 percent from the field and 92.5 percent from the foul line. Dosunmu played well alongside Anthony Edwards, and with Donte DiVincenzo set to miss an extended period as he recovers from a ruptured Achilles tendon, holding on to the guard took on added importance for the Timberwolves. Dosunmu finished last season as a top-100 fantasy player, and that may be his floor for 2026-27.
Mouhamadou Gueye
Report: Mouhamadou Gueye traded to Minnesota
Mon, Jun 22, 2026, 5:21 PM
Keith Smith
Spotrac's Keith Smith reports that the Bulls will trade Mouhamadou Gueye to the Timberwolves as part of a three-team deal that also involves the Nets.
Analysis: The Bulls, Timberwolves and Nets have reportedly agreed to a three-team deal that will not become official until the new league year begins on July 6. Chicago received Nic Claxton, with the Timberwolves getting Gueye and the 33rd overall pick, and the Nets received Julius Randle and the 28th overall pick. Gueye, who appeared in two games for the Bulls last season, will have his contract guaranteed by the Bulls to consummate the deal. However, it is expected to be converted into a non-guaranteed deal once the trade becomes official, after which the Timberwolves will waive him. This set of transactions will not affect Gueye's fantasy value.
Naz Reid
Naz Reid posts 18 points, seven rebounds in Game 6
Fri, May 15, 2026, 6:36 PM
Naz Reid accumulated 18 points (7-of-13 FGs, 1-of-1 FTs), seven rebounds, one assist and three three-pointers in Friday's Game 6 loss to the Spurs.
Analysis: Reid's 18 points matched his high for the series, which he first recorded in Game 3. While the Timberwolves had to navigate injuries throughout the playoffs, Reid's role remained largely unchanged. And given who's all under contract for next season, that's likely to remain the case. Reid is a player who has to be rostered in standard fantasy leagues, but his ceiling is limited with Julius Randle and Rudy Gobert starting while he comes off the bench.
Terrence Shannon Jr. scores 21 points in Game 6
Fri, May 15, 2026, 6:35 PM
Terrence Shannon Jr. amassed 21 points (7-of-13 FGs, 1-of-1 FTs), seven rebounds, one assist and three three-pointers in Friday's Game 6 loss to the Spurs.
Analysis: Out of the rotation for most of the regular season, Shannon took on a more prominent role during the postseason out of necessity. He finished Game 6 with his second 20-point game, the first being Minnesota's series-clincher against the Nuggets. With Donte DiVincenzo (Achilles) injured and Mike Conley hitting free agency, there may be room for Shannon to take on a more prominent role in 2026-27, even if the Timberwolves re-sign Ayo Dosunmu. Shannon will be worth taking a flier on in standard league drafts.
Ayo Dosunmu
Ayo Dosunmu dishes out nine assists in Game 6
Fri, May 15, 2026, 6:35 PM
Ayo Dosunmu tallied 10 points (4-of-8 FGs, 2-of-2 FTs), one rebound and nine assists in Friday's Game 6 loss to the Spurs.
Analysis: While he didn't do much scoring in Game 6, Dosunmu did dish out nine assists in what could be his final appearance in a Timberwolves uniform. His play in Game 4 of the Denver series will go down in franchise history, and Ayo was clearly not playing at full strength in the second round. An unrestricted free agent this summer, Dosunmu should not lack suitors, including Minnesota. With Donte DiVincenzo (Achilles) sidelined, the Timberwolves could make retaining Dosunmu a priority. A return would make Ayo a must-draft player in standard leagues whose ceiling would be considerably higher than it was in Chicago.
Rudy Gobert
Rudy Gobert goes scoreless in Game 6 defeat
Fri, May 15, 2026, 6:34 PM
Jonah Maves
Rudy Gobert went scoreless (0-of-4 FGs) with three rebounds in Friday's Game 6 loss to the Spurs.
Analysis: Gobert's matchup with Victor Wembanyama was the challenge that many expected it to be before the series began, but Game 6 was brutal. In addition to missing all four of his shot attempts, the veteran center grabbed just three rebounds and did not block a shot. The matchup at the start of the game didn't help, either, as Gobert was assigned to guard Stephon Castle. Castle knocked down shots, scoring 14 of his game-high 32 points in the first quarter. As effective as he was in the first round, Gobert will head into the offseason with a bad taste in his mouth. Looking to 2026-27, the 7-foot-1 pivot has top-100 fantasy potential, and he can be even more valuable in roster builds that punt free-throw percentage.
Jaden McDaniels
Jaden McDaniels limited to 13 points in Game 6
Fri, May 15, 2026, 6:34 PM
Jaden McDaniels recorded 13 points (4-of-13 FGs, 3-of-3 FTs), one rebound, three assists, one block and two three-pointers in Friday's Game 6 loss to the Spurs.
Analysis: Like many of his teammates, McDaniels struggled in Game 6. And finishing proved to be particularly problematic, especially when Victor Wembanyama was on the floor. A 44.4 percent shooter from two in the first five games of the series, McDaniels shot 2-of-9 in Game 6. However, his overall postseason production was positive for the Timberwolves, especially in the series against Denver. Looking ahead to next season, McDaniels has usually been underrated in category leagues. With Donte DiVincenzo (Achilles) expected to miss most of next season, McDaniels will possess a higher fantasy ceiling.
Julius Randle
Julius Randle's struggles continue in Game 6 loss
Fri, May 15, 2026, 6:33 PM
Julius Randle tallied three points (1-of-8 FGs, 1-of-2 FTs), seven rebounds and one assist in Friday's Game 6 loss to the Spurs.
Analysis: After averaging 14.8 points on 36.6 percent shooting in the first five games, Randle saved his worst for last in Game 6. The veteran forward shot 1-of-6 from inside the arc and offered little production to compensate for the poor shooting. Randle is going into the final guaranteed year of his deal, with a player option for 2027-28, and these playoffs won't do him any favors. During the regular season, Randle provided top-75 fantasy value, and he's capable of doing the same next season.
Anthony Edwards
Anthony Edwards scores 24 points in season finale
Fri, May 15, 2026, 6:33 PM
Anthony Edward finished Friday's Game 6 loss to the Spurs with 24 points (9-of-26 FGs, 4-of-7 FTs), two rebounds, two assists, three steals and two three-pointers.
Analysis: Edwards led the Timberwolves in scoring in Friday's series finale, but efficiency was an issue. The Timberwolves' star shot 7-of-19 from inside the arc in Game 6 while also enduring some struggles at the foul line. Add in Edwards recording just two assists, and this was a disappointing end to the season. Given the knee issues that he endured late in the season, getting rested and healthy will be the priority for Edwards this offseason. He's likely to come off the board in the latter stages of the first round in fantasy drafts next fall, be it category or points leagues.
Terrence Shannon Jr. (head) upgraded to available
Fri, May 15, 2026, 2:37 PM
NBA Injury Report
Terrence Shannon Jr. (head) is available for Friday's Game 6 against the Spurs.
Analysis: Shannon is good to go after being included on the injury report due to a head contusion. The second-year wing will provide depth off the bench, with the Timberwolves needing a win to extend the series.
Terrence Shannon Jr. (concussion) questionable
Fri, May 15, 2026, 8:57 AM
NBA Injury Report
Terrence Shannon Jr. (concussion) is questionable for Friday's Game 6 against the Spurs.
Analysis: If Shannon Jr. is forced to sit out a win-or-go-home Game 6, Minnesota could shorten its rotation. Jaylen Clark may pick up a few extra minutes.
Julius Randle
Randle scores 17 but shoots poorly in Game 5
Tue, May 12, 2026, 4:50 PM
Julius Randle tallied 17 points (6-of-17 FGs, 5-of-7 FTs), 10 rebounds and one assist in Tuesday's Game 5 loss to the Spurs.
Analysis: While he finished with a respectable point total, most of Randle's work was done after the outcome was no longer in doubt. Shooting 4-of-4 from the field, the Timberwolves forward scored nine points in the fourth quarter. The first three quarters are a concern, especially with Randle offering limited production since scoring 21 points in Game 1. With the Timberwolves' season on the line in Friday's Game 6, they'll need more consistent energy and production from Randle.
Jaden McDaniels
McDaniels scores 17 points in Game 5 defeat
Tue, May 12, 2026, 4:49 PM
Jaden McDaniels amassed 17 points (6-of-13 FGs, 2-of-2 FTs), six rebounds, two assists, one steal and three three-pointers in Tuesday's Game 5 loss to the Spurs.
Analysis: McDaniels shot the ball better in Game 5 than he did in Games 3 and 4, when he combined to make 11 of 32 attempts. However, his performance on Tuesday wasn't good enough, especially considering Victor Wembanyama's return from his second-quarter ejection in Game 4. McDaniels won't be Minnesota's first or second scoring option, but the Timberwolves will need an aggressive version of the wing in Game 6 on Friday. Minnesota is looking to force a decisive Game 7 with a victory.
