Jericho Sims
Shams: Bucks bring back Jericho Sims for two years
Tue, Jul 1, 2025, 7:01 AM
Shams Charania
ESPN's Shams Charania reports Jericho Sims has agreed to a two-year deal with the Bucks.
Analysis: The Bucks acquired Sims last year in the four-team trade that sent Khris Middleton to the Wizards and Kyle Kuzma also to the Bucks. The 26-year-old backup big man appeared in a career-high 53 games last year as well as all five of the Bucks' playoff games. Sims isn't much of a fantasy factor when the Bucks are at full strength.
Vasilije Micic
Shams: Bucks acquire Vasilije Micic via trade
Tue, Jul 1, 2025, 6:57 AM
Shams Charania
ESPN's Shams Charania reported the Bucks have acquired Vasilije Micic from the Hornets in exchange for Pat Connaughton and two second-round picks.
Analysis: This is another salary cap saving move by the Bucks so the team can afford to sign Myles Turner. While the Bucks only save $1.3 million in the trade acquiring Micic, the 31-year-old point guard is reportedly planning on going back to Europe rather than continue his NBA career. Micic is expected to give back a significant portion of the $8.1 million he's owed in a buyout, which will give the Bucks the requisite space to sign Turner.
Gary Harris
Shams: Bucks add Gary Harris on two-year deal
Tue, Jul 1, 2025, 6:18 AM
Shams Charania
ESPN's Shams Charania reports G/F Gary Harris has agreed to a two-year deal with the Bucks.
Analysis: Harris is a solid flier for the Bucks to take as Milwaukee continues to try to add in the short-term despite salary cap constraints. The 30-year-old shooting guard has a reputation for being a plus defensive player and shot 43 percent from behind the three-point line as recently as the 2022-23 season. Harris is not without his drawbacks as he's dealt with durability issues over the course of his career. He appeared in 48 games last year, but only averaged 14.3 minutes per game.
Damian Lillard
Shams: Bucks waive Damian Lillard to sign Turner
Tue, Jul 1, 2025, 5:24 AM
Shams Charania
ESPN's Shams Charania reports the Bucks waived Damian Lillard.
Analysis: The Bucks chose to waive and stretch Lillard, who is likely to miss all of next season as he recovers from an Achilles tear. Milwaukee is able to stretch the $113 million still owed to Lillard over five seasons. This was a necessary move for the team to have the requisite space to sign free agent center Myles Turner. The Bucks had to get creative to give their roster an immediate upgrade. Lillard's free-agent market will be a bit of a mystery given the fact that he's unlikely to play much ??" if at all ??" this season. It's possible we've seen the last of him as a major fantasy option.
Myles Turner
Shams: MIL, Myles Turner agree on four-year deal
Tue, Jul 1, 2025, 5:11 AM
Shams Charania
ESPN's Shams Charania reports C Myles Turner has agreed to a four-year, $107 million deal with the Bucks.
Analysis: Whoa. The deal includes a fourth year player option and 15 percent trade kicker, according to Charania. The Bucks were able to pull off a big move here luring the 29-year-old center from the defending Eastern Conference champion Pacers. Turner certainly represents an upgrade for the Bucks, who just lost Brook Lopez to the Clippers on the first day of free agency. With Damian Lillard likely sidelined for all of next year, Turner's situation from a fantasy perspective is also an upgrade.
Gary Trent
Shams: MIL, Gary Trent Jr. agree to two-year deal
Mon, Jun 30, 2025, 4:48 PM
Shams Charania
ESPN's Shams Charania reports the Bucks and G Gary Trent Jr. have agreed to a two-year, $7.5 million deal.
Analysis: Trent, who performed well during the Bucks' first-round playoff series against the Pacers, has reportedly decided to return to Milwaukee on a two-year deal with a player option. In his first season with the franchise, he averaged 11.1 points, 2.3 rebounds, 1.2 assists, 1.0 steals and 2.4 three-pointers in 25.6 minutes per game, making 74 appearances. Among Trent's best performances were his 33-point effort in Milwaukee's Game 5 loss to the Pacers. With Damian Lillard (Achilles) expected to miss most of next season, GTJ will be worth a look in fantasy drafts despite being more of a points and three-pointers option.
Taurean Prince
Shams: Taurean Prince re-signs with Bucks
Mon, Jun 30, 2025, 3:31 PM
Shams Charania
ESPN's Shams Charania reports F Taurean Prince has agreed to a two-year, $7.1 million deal with the Bucks.
Analysis: Prince isn't a fantasy-relevant player at this point in his career. He hasn't averaged over 10 points per game since the 2019-20 season. The former No. 12 overall pick by the Jazz in 2016 was a key role player for the Bucks last year, though. Prince appeared in 80 games for Milwaukee including 73 starts.
Kevin Porter
Shams: MIL signs Kevin Porter Jr. to two-year deal
Mon, Jun 30, 2025, 1:21 PM
Shams Charania
ESPN's Shams Charania reports the Bucks have signed G Kevin Porter Jr. to a two-year, $11 million deal.
Analysis: Two days after declining his player option, Porter has decided to return to the Bucks on a two-year deal. He certainly had his moments, especially late in the season, and there's an opportunity for the former first-round pick to provide added value in fantasy leagues. Damian Lillard (Achilles) will miss most of the 2025-26 season, leaving a large opening at the point guard position. While erratic, KPJ will be worth the risk in standard league drafts.
Bobby Portis
Report: Portis to sign three-year deal with MIL
Sun, Jun 29, 2025, 11:09 AM
Shams Charania
ESPN's Shams Charania reports Bobby Portis will sign a three-year, $44 million deal to remain with the Bucks.
Analysis: With Damian Lillard (Achilles) set to miss a significant portion of the 2025-26 season, keeping its other key players on board is critical for Milwaukee in free agency. One of those players is Portis, a fan favorite who has been consistently productive throughout his time with the Bucks. The third year of his new deal will be a player option. Having finished the 2024-25 season ranked just outside the top-100 in eight- and nine-cat formats, Portis' Yahoo! ADP will be elevated in 2025-26 due to Lillard's absence.
Kevin Porter
Report: Kevin Porter Jr. to decline player option
Sat, Jun 28, 2025, 2:10 PM
The Athletic
According to The Athletic, Kevin Porter Jr. has informed the Bucks that he will decline his player option and become an unrestricted free agent.
Analysis: Traded to Milwaukee at the February deadline, Porter had his moments during the regular season and the Bucks' first-round series against the Pacers. His option for the 2025-26 season would have paid Porter $2.5 million, so the decision to test the open market is not a surprise. With Damian Lillard (Achilles) set to miss most of next season, if not all of it, and Ryan Rollins being a restricted free agent, the Bucks have a clear need at point guard. However, they don't have much money to spend in free agency.
Pat Connaughton
Shams: Pat Connaughton exercises player option
Sat, Jun 21, 2025, 10:14 AM
Shams Charania
ESPN's Shams Charania reported Pat Connaughton has exercised his player option for the 2025-26 season.
Analysis: Connaughton's player option was worth approximately $9.4 million, likely a higher price tag than what he would have commanded as an unrestricted free agent. Injuries limited the Bucks wing to 41 games this season, and he averaged 5.3 points, 2.7 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 0.6 three-pointers in 14.7 minutes. Outside of his 43-point explosion in Milwaukee's regular season finale, Connaughton did not impact fantasy basketball this season, and that's unlikely to change in 2025-26.
Giannis Antetokounmpo
Windhorst: Giannis hasn't asked for trade
Tue, Jun 10, 2025, 4:41 AM
Brian Windhorst
ESPN's Brian Windhorst reports that "[Giannis Antetokounmpo] has not asked for [a trade]” and that “the Bucks are not looking to trade him.”
Analysis: Windhorst said this during an appearance on ESPN's Get Up, and he also said that trade discussions haven't happened. Reports from shortly after the Bucks lost to the Pacers in the first round indicated that Giannis would be “open-minded” about playing somewhere other than Milwaukee. That has led to plenty of rumors and mock trades over the past month, but there appears to be a scenario where Giannis remains with the Bucks and runs things back. They don't have many pieces to build a contender around him, especially after Damian Lillard tore his Achilles during the playoffs. Still, this doesn't mean there won't be a trade. The offseason hasn't even started yet. A lot could change over the next few weeks between the draft and the start of free agency.
Giannis Antetokounmpo
Antetokounmpo ‘open-minded' about future
Mon, May 12, 2025, 3:34 AM
Shams Charania
ESPN's Shams Charania reports that Giannis Antetokounmpo “has not made any firm decisions, but for the first time in his career, he is open-minded about whether his best fit is remaining in Milwaukee ??" or playing elsewhere.”
Analysis: No surprises here, as rumors of Antetokounmpo's future with another team swirled as the season came to a close. Milwaukee finished the regular season 48-34 as the fifth seed in the East, and the Bucks were knocked out of the first round in a gentlemen's sweep to the rival Pacers. With Damian Lillard out for most if not all of next season, the Bucks may choose to trade Antetokounmpo in the offseason and get a jumpstart on the impending rebuild. Fantasy managers should keep a close eye on an Antetokounmpo trade this offseason, as his future plans will be one of the biggest headlines heading into the 2025-26 season and could drastically shift fantasy values for a few other players.
Damian Lillard
Lillard (Achilles) undergoes surgery on Friday
Fri, May 2, 2025, 2:43 PM
Milwaukee Bucks
Damian Lillard underwent successful Achilles surgery on Friday.
Analysis: Lillard suffered a season-ending Achilles tendon tear last Sunday during the Bucks' season-ending Game 4 loss to the Pacers. The 34-year-old point guard remains without a recovery timeline, but the assumption is that he'll miss a significant portion of next season. His status impacts Milwaukee's entire rotation and approach to the offseason as the franchise heads into the summer with limited assets to help strengthen their roster.
Gary Trent
Gary Trent Jr. tallies 33 huge points vs. Pacers
Tue, Apr 29, 2025, 3:55 PM
Gary Trent Jr. finished with 33 points (12-of-25 FGs, 1-of-2 FTs), five rebounds, two assists, five steals and eight three-pointers in Tuesday's Game 5 loss to the Pacers.
Analysis: Trent Jr. provided the Bucks with another outstanding display of three-point shooting on Tuesday. The veteran guard knocked down at least eight three-pointers and eclipsed 30 points for the second time in the series. His value was shown on the defensive end as well, where he collected five steals. Trent Jr. will be an unrestricted free agent this offseason. His strong postseason may help him earn a nice contract.
AJ Green
AJ Green puts up 19 points vs. Pacers
Tue, Apr 29, 2025, 3:48 PM
AJ Green tallied 19 points (6-of-11 FGs, 1-of-2 FTs), four rebounds, one assist, one block and six three-pointers in the Bucks' Game 5 loss to the Pacers.
Analysis: Green had another effective night from the three-point line. Green's contributions from beyond the arc in Game 5 give him 18 three-pointers in the series, which account for all of his made field goals through the five games. The second-year guard out of Northern Iowa led the Bucks in scoring through the first two quarters and ended his sophomore campaign on a high note. He should remain an important piece for Milwaukee going forward but is not a player who has to be targeted in most fantasy drafts.
Giannis Antetokounmpo
Antetokounmpo pours in 30/20/13 line in Game 5
Tue, Apr 29, 2025, 3:46 PM
Giannis Antetokounmpo did it all in Tuesday's Game 5 loss to the Pacers, finishing with 30 points (9-of-17 FGs, 11-of-17 FTs), 20 rebounds, 13 assists, two blocks, two steals and one three-pointer.
Analysis: Antetokounmpo put together a well-rounded performance in the Bucks' season-ending defeat. The 2021 NBA Finals MVP reached 30 points for the fourth time in the series while impressing as a passer and rebounder en route to securing his only triple-double of the opening round. The Bucks will have another early exit and a long offseason. Still, Antetokounmpo will remain a top option in fantasy leagues next season, especially for managers punting free-throw percentage.
Bobby Portis
MIL starting KPJ, Green, Trent, Giannis, Portis
Tue, Apr 29, 2025, 11:38 AM
NBA Lineups
Kevin Porter Jr., AJ Green, Gary Trent Jr., Giannis Antetokounmpo and Bobby Portis will start Game 5 on Tuesday against the Pacers.
Analysis: Damian Lillard's season-ending Achilles tendon tear meant the Bucks would have to make at least one change to their starting lineup. Porter will fill the void left by the perennial All-Star, with Green and Portis also being moved from the bench to the starting five. They replace Kyle Kuzma and Brook Lopez, as Bucks coach Doc Rivers searches for an answer that will keep his team's season alive.
Damian Lillard
Damian Lillard diagnosed with torn Achilles
Mon, Apr 28, 2025, 9:39 AM
Chris B. Haynes on Twitter
NBA reporter Chris B. Haynes reports that Damian Lillard has been diagnosed with a torn Achilles.
Analysis: Brutal. Lillard's 2024-25 season is officially over, and there's a chance he misses all of next season due to the timing of the injury. His contract runs through the 2025-26 season and includes a player option for 2026-27 for $58 million. It's unclear what Lillard's extended absence will mean for fantasy owners in 2025-26, as the Bucks will likely address PG depth in the offseason. Ryan Rollins started 19 games for the Bucks in 2024-25 and would be the in-house option. As a starter, Rollins averaged 10.2 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 2.9 assists per game.
Bobby Portis
Bobby Portis contributes 14 points in Game 4 loss
Sun, Apr 27, 2025, 7:00 PM
Bobby Portis finished Sunday's Game 4 loss to the Pacers with 14 points (6-of-10 FGs), three rebounds, one assist and two three-pointers in 25 minutes.
Analysis: Portis did his best to give the Bucks a spark on Sunday, but the home team was overwhelmed after losing Damian Lillard during the first half. With Brook Lopez (6/1/1/1/1 with two three-pointers in 15 minutes) struggling, Portis moved into the lineup to begin the third quarter. Milwaukee is now in a 3-1 hole, and Portis should play plenty in Tuesday's Game 5. That will be the case whether he comes off the bench or starts.
