Carlisle: Bennedict Mathurin to start next season
Wed, Aug 6, 2025, 7:07 AM
Caitlin Cooper
Pacers coach Rick Carlisle said Bennedict Mathurin will start next season.
Analysis: This isn't a surprising update, but the confidence from Carlisle to announce this nearly three months before the start of the regular season is a good thing to see. Mathurin averaged 16.7 points, 6.0 rebounds and 1.9 assists in 49 starts last season, and with Tyrese Haliburton (Achilles) expected to miss all of next season, Mathurin will certainly be one of the leading scorers for Indiana, which bodes well for his fantasy upside.
Isaiah Jackson
Isaiah Jackson (Achilles) on track for camp

Tony East
According to Pacers insider Tony East, Isaiah Jackson (Achilles) said Saturday that he's on track to be ready for the start of training camp.
Analysis: Jackson only appeared in five games last season, as he ruptured his right Achilles tendon on November 2. The Pacers center, who recently agreed to a three-year deal worth $21 million, said Saturday that he's anywhere from 80 to 90 percent healthy and expects to be ready for training camp. With the Pacers losing Myles Turner in free agency, Jackson is well-positioned to play significant minutes if healthy. Indiana also signed Jay Huff and James Wiseman, with the latter being on a non-guaranteed deal.
Enrique Freeman
Enrique Freeman grabs 11 rebounds vs. Thunder
Sat, Jul 12, 2025, 1:58 PM
Enrique Freeman produced 15 points (4-of-5 FGs, 5-of-6 FTs), 11 rebounds, one steal, two blocks and two three-pointers in Saturday's loss to the Thunder.
Analysis: The Pacers have only used two of their three two-way contracts for the 2025-26 season, and Freeman is among the players in Las Vegas competing for the final spot. His performance against the Thunder was a step in the right direction, with the former Kent State standout recording a double-double on 80 percent shooting from the field. Freeman played in 22 games for the Pacers as a rookie, and he isn't someone worth considering in fantasy drafts. But, a good run in Las Vegas could get him another two-way deal or an Exhibit 10 that would guarantee him a training camp invite.
Isaiah Jackson
Shams: Pacers, Isaiah Jackson agree on new deal
Fri, Jul 11, 2025, 10:14 AM
Shams Charania
ESPN's Shams Charania reports Isaiah Jackson has agreed to a three-year, $21 million deal with the Pacers.
Analysis: Jackson appeared in just five games for the Pacers last year before suffering a torn right Achilles tendon that ended his season. The 23-year-old big man has never averaged even 20 minutes per game in a season, but suddenly has a clear path to being the Pacers' starting center this year with Myles Turner in Milwaukee. A former first-round pick in 2021, Jackson has a golden opportunity ahead of him and the Pacers have locked in their starting center for $21 million over the next three years.
Quenton Jackson
Quenton Jackson scores 24 points vs. Cleveland
Thu, Jul 10, 2025, 1:32 PM
Quenton Jackson finished Thursday's win over the Cavaliers with 24 points (8-of-10 FGs, 7-of-7 FTs), three assists, two steals and one three-pointer.
Analysis: Still on a two-way contract, Jackson is one of the players in Las Vegas hoping to improve his standing and potentially earn a standard deal if possible. He's in a good situation with the Pacers, who will be without Tyrese Haliburton for the 2025-26 season as he recovers from a ruptured Achilles tendon. Jackson appeared in 28 games for the Pacers last season, his third in the NBA. There's no need to consider him for fantasy drafts right now, but there may come a point when Jackson is allowed to earn credible playing time.
James Wiseman
James Wiseman back with Pacers on one-year deal
Mon, Jul 7, 2025, 10:00 AM
Evan Sidery
NBA contributor Evan Sidery reports Pacers re-signed C James Wiseman to a one-year deal.
Analysis: Wiseman tore his Achilles in the season-opener with Indiana, and he was dealt to and subsequently waived by Toronto in February. With Myles Turner now a Buck, Indiana has made moves to address its center depth. Wiseman should compete for backup minutes in the frontcourt, but he's far off the fantasy radar for now.
Jay Huff
Shams: Grizzlies trade Jay Huff to Indiana
Sat, Jul 5, 2025, 11:31 AM
Shams Charania
ESPN's Shams Charania reports Jay Huff has been traded to the Pacers for a second-round pick and a second-round pick swap.
Analysis: The pick swap is reportedly in 2031, while the other second rounder is a 2029 pick from Portland, per HoopsHype's Michael Scotto. Huff could be in line to play a significant role for the Pacers next season after Myles Turner departed for Milwaukee in free agency. Indiana has a few months to figure out their center rotation, but as of now, Huff could end up as an intriguing late-round swing.
Tyrese Haliburton
Tyrese Haliburton suffers torn Achilles in Game 7
Mon, Jun 23, 2025, 8:14 AM
Shams Charania
ESPN's Shams Charania reports that Tyrese Haliburton suffered a torn right Achilles tendon in Game 7 of the NBA Finals on Sunday.
Analysis: As feared, Haliburton's injury is severe, and it will likely cost him all of next season. It's a brutal development for the emerging superstar, especially after the magical playoff run he led. In Hali's absence, T.J. McConnell could see a big uptick in playing time and usage, while Ben Sheppard could see more time off the bench, and Andrew Nembhard could take on more responsibility as a facilitator.
Bennedict Mathurin
Mathurin leads Pacers with 24/13 in Game 7 loss
Sun, Jun 22, 2025, 5:43 PM
Bennedict Mathurin finished Sunday's Game 7 loss to the Thunder with 24 points, 13 rebounds, three assists, two steals and two triples across 33 minutes.
Analysis: Mathurin led Indiana in scoring and led all players in rebounds, though his minus-14 in the box score represented the lowest plus-minus of the game. Mathurin's playoff run was a rollercoaster of ups and downs in minutes and scoring. His highs were high, and his lows were low, and Mathurin scored at least 20 points in four of the final 10 games of the postseason. The third-year man out of Arizona averaged career highs in points (16.1), rebounds (5.3), field goal percentage (45.8) and free throw percentage (83.1) in 2024-25, and he'll look to improve on those numbers in his fourth season.
Pascal Siakam
Pascal Siakam delivers 16/4/2/1/1 line in Game 7
Sun, Jun 22, 2025, 5:26 PM
Pascal Siakam finished with 16 points (5-of-13 FG), four rebounds, two assists, a steal, a block and two triples across 37 minutes in Sunday's loss to the Thunder.
Analysis: Siakam had a tremendous playoff run and was arguably the team's best player in the Finals, but he couldn't get much going in Game 7. He signed a four-year deal with the Pacers last summer, so he'll be back with Tyrese Haliburton for at least the next three seasons as Indiana tries to prove that their Cinderella run was more than just lightning in a bottle. If Haliburton misses a large portion of next season, Siakam's usage could grow and he could be more valuable in fantasy basketball than he was in 2024-25.
T.J. McConnell
T.J. McConnell gets hot in Game 7 with 16 points
Sun, Jun 22, 2025, 5:11 PM
T.J. McConnell finished Indiana's Game 7 loss to Oklahoma City with 16 points, six rebounds, three assists, a steal and a block across 28 minutes.
Analysis: Tyrese Haliburton went down just seven minutes into the game, and McConnell stepped up in a big way. He did his best to carry the listless Pacers offense, and at one point in the third quarter, he scored 12 straight points for his team. Despite being the spark that kept Indiana competitive midway through the third, McConnell wasn't on the court to start the fourth and logged only 28 minutes. McConnell cemented his name as a legend in Indiana with gritty performance after gritty performance across seven games. Depending on the severity of Haliburton's Achilles injury, McConnell could be forced to step into a larger role next season. He's shown that he's capable of good fantasy lines with increased playing time.
Myles Turner
Myles Turner disappoints as Pacers lose Game 7
Sun, Jun 22, 2025, 5:05 PM
Myles Turner finished Sunday's loss to the Thunder with six points on 2-of-4 shooting, adding four rebounds, an assist and a triple across 24 minutes.
Analysis: All the chips are on the table in a winner-take-all Game 7, and Tyrese Haliburton gets hurt. After a rough series and an even worse Game 6, it was Turner's time to shine, right? When his team needed him the most, Turner attempted just four shots, hit 1-of-3 triples and 1-of-4 free throws, committed three fouls and finished with no defensive stats. This was a series to forget for the longest-tenured Pacer, and he couldn't have picked a worse time to have such a dreadful performance.
Tyrese Haliburton
Haliburton exits Game 7 with Achilles injury
Sun, Jun 22, 2025, 2:50 PM
Evan Sidery
Tyrese Haliburton was helped off the court in the first quarter of Sunday's Game 7 against the Thunder with an apparent Achilles injury.
Analysis: Haliburton slipped on the court and appeared to sustain a serious injury to his lower right leg. He went down immediately and began banging the court in anguish. It was a near carbon copy of the Achilles injury suffered earlier this postseason by Celtics superstar Jayson Tatum. The 25-year-old point guard was unable to put any weight on his leg while being helped to the locker room and we don't need official confirmation to know that his night is over. Haliburton was off to his best first quarter of the Finals, nailing three of four triples in just seven minutes. In his stead, expect big minutes from T.J. McConnell and additional playing time for the likes of Ben Sheppard and Obi Toppin. In the longterm, if the injury is indeed an Achilles, Hali could be forced to miss most, if not all, of next season.
Tyrese Haliburton
Tyrese Haliburton (calf) good to go for Game 7
Sun, Jun 22, 2025, 1:40 PM
NBA Injury Report
Tyrese Haliburton (calf) is available for Sunday's Game 7 against the Thunder.
Analysis: Haliburton played through the injury in Indiana's decisive Game 6 victory, and there was never much of a doubt that he'd gut it out to play in the winner-take-all Game 7.
Tyrese Haliburton
Haliburton (calf) officially questionable for Gm 7
Sat, Jun 21, 2025, 12:34 PM
NBA Injury Report
Tyrese Haliburton (calf) is questionable for Sunday's Game 7 against the Thunder.
Analysis: While Haliburton disclosed Saturday afternoon that he's still dealing with soreness and stiffness in his strained right calf, he said that he'll be good to go for Sunday's series decider. The Pacers have officially listed the point guard as questionable, but the sporting world expects to see him on the court. With Haliburton being at less than full strength, the Pacers will likely need another standout performance from backup point guard T.J. McConnell if they're to win their first NBA title.
Tyrese Haliburton
Haliburton (calf) says he'll be ready for Game 7
Sat, Jun 21, 2025, 9:48 AM
Scott Agness
Tyrese Haliburton (calf) says he'll “be ready to go for Game 7" of the NBA Finals against the Thunder on Sunday.
Analysis: “Good thing I only had to play like 23 minutes,” Haliburton said. “I've been able to get even more treatment and do more things. Just trying to take care of it the best I can.” This will be the first Game 7 in the Finals since 2016, so there's no way Haliburton sits out. They'll continue to manage his injury, and if it's bothering him to the point that he isn't helping the team by being out there, they may choose to sit him. However, that wasn't the case in Game 6, and if it means winning a championship, they will likely have no issues pushing him way past 23 minutes.
T.J. McConnell
T.J. McConnell chips in 12/9/6/4 line off bench
Thu, Jun 19, 2025, 5:29 PM
T.J. McConnell provided a boost off the bench with 12 points (6-of-12 FGs), nine rebounds, six assists and four steals against the Thunder on Thursday.
Analysis: McConnell has been fantastic in this series, and this was arguably his best performance. He has averaged 11.3 points, 3.2 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 2.3 steals through the first six games of the Finals, and he has scored in double figures four times. He stepped up with Tyrese Haliburton (calf) not fully healthy, which allowed them to manage Haliburton's minutes. McConnell has been invaluable for the Pacers in this series, and they'll need him to continue to contribute on Sunday, especially if Haliburton's calf is still bothering him.
Obi Toppin
Obi Toppin leads Pacers with 20 points in Game 6
Thu, Jun 19, 2025, 5:25 PM
Obi Toppin led the Pacers with 20 points (6-of-12 FGs), six rebounds, two steals and four three-pointers against the Thunder in Game 6 on Thursday.
Analysis: Toppin continues to shine for Indiana. He has scored in double figures in six of their last eight games and in three straight, and his timing couldn't be any better. This was his second 20-point game of this postseason, with the other coming in Game 4 against the Cavs. Toppin has been at his best at home, but he has had some solid performances on the road, including in Games 1 and 5 of this series. If he can keep it up, the Pacers will have a strong chance of winning Game 7 on Sunday.
Pascal Siakam
Pascal Siakam tallies 16/13/3 line in Game 6 win
Thu, Jun 19, 2025, 5:21 PM
Pascal Siakam recorded a double-double on Thursday with 16 points (6-of-14 FGs), 13 rebounds, three assists, one block and one three-pointer against the Thunder.
Analysis: After scoring at least 20 points in three straight games, Siakam didn't do as much scoring in Game 6, but he still made enough of an impact for Indiana to force a Game 7 on Sunday. This was his second double-double of the series and only his third of this postseason run, and the 13 rebounds were the most he's had in a game during these playoffs. Siakam will likely need to do more scoring on Sunday for the Pacers to win a ring on the road.
Tyrese Haliburton
Haliburton (calf) logs 23 minutes, Pacers force G7
Thu, Jun 19, 2025, 5:18 PM
Tyrese Haliburton logged 23 minutes on Thursday and contributed 14 points (5-of-12 FGs), one rebound, five assists, two steals and three three-pointers in a 108-91 win over the Thunder in Game 6.
Analysis: This game could not have gone any better for the Pacers. They took control in the second quarter and extended the lead after halftime, which allowed them to manage Haliburton's minutes. There were reports that if this were the regular season, Haliburton would likely be in line to miss multiple weeks. He showed incredible resilience by even suiting up, and while the numbers weren't eye-popping, he played really well in this game and hit some big shots to help them take a big lead. They'll continue to monitor his injury, but it would be shocking if he didn't play in Game 7 on Sunday with a championship on the line.
