Shams Charania on X
Russell Westbrook has agreed to a two-year, $6.8 million deal with Denver, per The Athletic's Shams Charania.
Analysis: Westbrook's agreement is now official over a week after he was traded to Utah with the expectation that he would eventually join the Nuggets. Russ will look to help bolster Denver's bench unit after they ranked 25th in bench points per game last season.

Trey Alexander puts up 19/6/2/2 line vs. Indiana
Thu, Jul 18, 2024, 1:32 PM
Trey Alexander posted a full line on Thursday with 19 points (5-of-13 FGS), six rebounds, two assists, two steals and two triples against the Pacers.
Analysis: Alexnder may have gone undrafted, but that shouldn't scare dynasty managers. He quickly agreed to a two-way deal with Denver after the draft, which likely means that there was an agreement in place during the draft, and his camp told teams not to draft him. Regardless, this is the situation that he chose to be in, and the team clearly values him. If he continues to play this well, he shouldn't have any issues establishing a spot in the team's rotation.
Hunter Tyson
Hunter Tyson scores game-high 23 points vs. Pacers
Thu, Jul 18, 2024, 1:28 PM
Hunter Tyson led the Nuggets with 23 points (8-of-18 FGs), three rebounds, one assist, one steal and three 3-pointers in an 86-71 win over Indiana on Thursday.
Analysis: After not seeing the floor much as a rookie, Tyson hasn't had a great summer thus far. However, he had his best performance on Thursday after shooting 5-of-18 from the floor in their last game and 2-of-11 in the game before that. As an older prospect, Tyson was drafted last summer as a player that can contribute early. However, even if he is able to establish a spot in the rotation this upcoming season, he isn't a player that will contribute in fantasy.

Trey Alexander scores 18 points in loss to Raptors
Sun, Jul 14, 2024, 6:00 PM
Trey Alexander amassed 18 points (6-of-10 FGs, 4-of-4 FTs), four rebounds, five assists, two steals, one block, and two 3-pointers in 31 minutes in Sunday's 84-81 loss to Toronto.
Analysis: The Nuggets did not waste much time adding Alexander to their roster, signing him to a two-way deal less than an hour after the conclusion of last month's draft. The former Creighton standout is a capable scorer and playmaker, which was on display in Sunday's close defeat. Alexander's chances of earning consistent rotation minutes are slim due to his contract and Denver's cap situation. Still, he has the talent to earn opportunities throughout the season.
Julian Strawther
Julian Strawther goes off for 32 points vs. TOR
Sun, Jul 14, 2024, 5:53 PM
Julian Strawther finished Sunday's 84-81 loss to the Raptors with 32 points (10-of-21 FGs, 6-of-10 FTs), three rebounds, five assists, one steal, one block, and six 3-pointers in 34 minutes.
Analysis: The Nuggets' summer league roster is set up for Strawther to flourish offensively, and that's precisely what he did on Sunday. The 2023 first-round pick torched the Raptors, with a missed 3-point attempt as time expired being all that kept the Nuggets from forcing overtime. Christian Braun is viewed by many as the expected replacement for Kentavious Caldwell-Pope due to his defensive ability, but Strawther should play more minutes as well, even if he comes off the bench. He's worth taking a flier on in the final round of standard league drafts, as Strawther's shooting ability will be needed.
Vlatko Cancar
Report: Nuggets, Vlatko Cancar agree to contract
Sat, Jul 6, 2024, 5:18 PM
Michael Scotto on Twitter
According to HoopsHype's Michael Scotto, the Nuggets have agreed to a deal with Vlatko Cancar.
Analysis: While the Nuggets did decline Cancar's option for the 2024-25 season, the team remained interested in bringing him back. Denver general manager Calvin Booth was in Greece watching Cancar, who suffered a torn ACL in his left knee last August, represent Slovenia in an Olympic Qualifying Tournament loss to the hosts on Saturday. Cancar will have the opportunity to earn rotation minutes next season but is not a player who fantasy managers in most leagues should plan to draft.
Dario Saric
Woj: Nuggets sign Dario Saric to two-year contract
Sat, Jul 6, 2024, 12:50 PM
Adrian Wojnarowski on Twitter
According to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, the Nuggets have signed Dario Saric to a two-year, $10.6 million deal.
Analysis: Remaining in the Western Conference after spending last season with the Warriors, Saric will have a player option for the 2025-26 season. Appearing in 64 games in 2023-24, he averaged 8.0 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 2.3 assists in 17.2 minutes. Saric ultimately fell out of the Warriors' rotation in early March. His chances of maintaining a role in Denver will be higher due to the Nuggets' need for frontcourt depth behind Nikola Jokic and Aaron Gordon.
DeAndre Jordan
Haynes: DeAndre Jordan re-signing with Nuggets
Sat, Jun 29, 2024, 5:14 PM
According to Bleacher Report's Chris Haynes, DeAndre Jordan is set to re-sign with Denver for 2024-25.
Analysis: Jordan will continue backing up Nikola Jokic next season. The Nuggets big man played sparingly last season, but was often his team's preferred reserve center. Fantasy managers shouldn't expect much production from him, as no center offers more fantasy value than Jokic.

Trey Alexander signs two-way contract with Denver
Thu, Jun 27, 2024, 5:35 PM
Harrison Wind on X
Trey Alexander has signed a two-way contract with Denver after going undrafted.
Analysis: Alexander played three seasons at Creighton. He took home All Big East honors in 2023-24 behind averages of 17.6 points, 5.7 rebounds, 4.7 assists, 1.1 steals and 1.8 triples. Despite sub-par shooting splits of 44.6/82.4/33.9, Alexander is a quality scorer. The 6'4, 185 pound guard has a deep bag and can get buckets in the paint, from beyond the arc and in the midrange thanks to his handles, creative movement and the ability to catch-and-shoot. He's got good length as a defender and can make an impact on both ends of the floor at the NBA level. He'll get a chance to join a contender, and while he may not make a big statistical impact immediately, he'll just add to the Nuggets' depth. He'll likely spend most of his time in the G-League this season.
Kentavious Caldwell-Pope
Kentavious Caldwell-Pope declines player option
Thu, Jun 27, 2024, 2:54 PM
Shams Charania on Twitter
Kentavious Caldwell-Pope is declining his $15.4 million player option and will enter free agency according to The Athletic's Shams Charania.
Analysis: Earlier rumblings from Nuggets GM Calvin Booth pointed to KCP departing in free agency, so this news is hardly surprising. His 3-and-D skillset should keep him in the deeper-league conversation for fantasy managers no matter where he lands. In his absence, Christian Braun could step into a starting role, which would be a monster boost to his fantasy value.
Jamal Murray
Jamal Murray, DEN close on 4-year, $209M extension
Thu, Jun 27, 2024, 2:50 PM
Shams Charania on Twitter
According to The Athletic's Shams Charania, the Nuggets and Jamal Murray are working on a four-year, $209 million extension.
Analysis: Shams notes that Murray is expected to sign the deal when Denver presents it to him. Availability has been a concern for Denver's star point guard, but he's been phenomenal when healthy, stepping up under the brightest lights in the postseason. He and Nikola Jokic will be a duo to be reckoned with for years to come in the Mile High City.
Kentavious Caldwell-Pope
Kentavious Caldwell-Pope might not be back in FA
Thu, Jun 27, 2024, 10:39 AM
Harrison Faigen, SB Nation
In a recent interview with Ryan Blackburn of Mile High Sports, Nuggets GM Calvin Booth alluded to a potential Kentavious Caldwell-Pope free agency departure.
Analysis: Booth said, “Yeah, I think you have to look at everything and the nature of free agency is that he's unrestricted. So we can try to bring him back and if he doesn't want to come back or opts to go somewhere else, that's his prerogative so we'll have to work with that.” That comment is innocuous, but his final word on the matter speaks to the possibility of KCP departing in free agency. According to Booth, “It would be nice if he's back, we'd have a lot of continuity together, but all the stuff I've looked at with lineup stuff and everything, Christian Braun is one of the best net rating guys in the league ??" as is KCP. So I think if he's to step into the starting lineup, I would project that we'll be OK if KCP doesn't return.” If Caldwell-Pope doesn't return to the Nuggets next season, Braun is an intriguing late-round pick. He's played well in limited minutes, and a starting role would do wonders for his fantasy value.
Reggie Jackson
Report: Reggie Jackson accepting DEN player option
Mon, Jun 24, 2024, 2:34 PM
Adrian Wojnarowski on Twotter
According to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, Jackson is picking up his one-year, $5.25 million player option with the Denver Nuggets.
Analysis: Jackson averaged 10.2 points, 3.8 assists, and 1.9 rebounds per game in his first full season with the Nuggets. The reserve point guard is set to continue backing up Jamal Murray in 2024-25.
Vlatko Cancar
Report: DEN plans to decline Vlatko Cancar option
Sun, Jun 23, 2024, 6:05 PM
Bennett Durando on X
According to Bennett Durando of the Denver Post, the Nuggets plan to decline Vlatko Cancar's player option for next season.
Analysis: Cancar injured his knee while playing for Slovenia last summer and did not play for the Nuggets this past season. He'll return to game action in early July when Slovenia participates in an Olympic Qualifying Tournament. According to Durando, the Nuggets remain interested in bringing Cancar back, albeit on a different contract.
Kentavious Caldwell-Pope
Stein: Magic, 76ers targeting Caldwell-Pope
Sun, Jun 23, 2024, 1:34 PM
Marc Stein
The Magic and 76ers are considering making runs at Kentavious Caldwell-Pope in free agency, per Marc Stein.
Analysis: KCP has won two of the last five championships as part of different squads while providing value on both ends of the value. He should make a huge impact on either the 76ers or Magic as both teams are ready to contend and could use a 3-and-D starter at shooting guard. KCP has been an incredibly impactful starter for the Nuggets the last couple of seasons, which could earn him a big raise if he moves to the East.
Nikola Jokic
Nikola Jokic headlines All-NBA First Team quintet
Wed, May 22, 2024, 1:56 PM
NBA Communication on Twitter
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Luka Doncic, Jayson Tatum, Giannis Antetokounmpo, and Nikola Jokic were named First-Team All-NBA on Wednesday.
Analysis: The All-NBA first team offered no surprises, including the top four vote-getters for Most Valuable Player. Jokic, who won his third MVP in four seasons, led the way, with Gilgeous-Alexander, Doncic, and Tatum next. Rounding out the squad was Antetokounmpo, named All-NBA for the eighth time in his career. SGA earned All-NBA first-team honors for the second straight season. He and Jokic were the only unanimous selections.
Kentavious Caldwell-Pope
Kentavious Caldwell-Pope posts 5/6/3/2/1 line Sun.
Sun, May 19, 2024, 10:42 PM
Kentavious Caldwell-Pope played 40 minutes in Sunday's loss to the Timberwolves, tallying five points (2-of-7 FGs), six rebounds, three assists, two steals, one block, and one 3-pointer.
Analysis: After hitting four 3-pointers and scoring 16 points in Game 5, Caldwell-Pope ended his season with a whimper. In Denver's losses to the Timberwolves in games 6 and 7, KCP scored 14 points on 4-of-13 shooting from the field (3-10 3-pointers). The veteran guard has been a mainstay in the Nuggets starting lineup, providing solid fantasy value. Caldwell-Pope finished this season ranked just outside the top 100 in 9-cat formats, but few fantasy managers are willing to roll the dice on him that early in drafts. KCP had a Yahoo ADP of 139.6, and that's unlikely to change in 2024-25.
Michael Porter
Michael Porter Jr. goes cold, scores seven points
Sun, May 19, 2024, 10:32 PM
Michael Porter Jr. shot 3-of-12 from the field in Sunday's 98-90 loss to Minnesota, tallying seven points, nine rebounds, two blocks, and one 3-pointer in 34 minutes.
Analysis: While Jamal Murray (35) and Nikola Jokic (34) combined to score 69 points, no other Nugget scored more than seven in Sunday's Game 7 defeat. Porter went ice cold, shooting 1-of-6 from beyond the arc and 3-of-12 from the field overall. Sunday night was a disappointing end for a player who provided fantasy managers with a top-75 season in 9-cat formats. Porter exceeded his Yahoo ADP (83.1) while appearing in a career-high 81 regular season games. As long as he stays healthy, MPJ should have a top-75 floor in fantasy basketball next season.
Aaron Gordon
Aaron Gordon struggles in Game 7 loss to Minnesota
Sun, May 19, 2024, 10:23 PM
Aaron Gordon shot 2-of-5 from the field in Sunday's 98-90 loss to the Timberwolves, accumulating four points, four rebounds, two assists, and one blocked shot in 42 minutes.
Analysis: A standout for most of this series, Gordon picked a terrible time to struggle. He didn't offer much value in Game 7, with Denver's “supporting cast” being outplayed by Minnesota after leading by 20 in the second half. Game 7 was the first Gordon failed to reach double figures since Game 1 when he tallied nine in another defeat. As for his season overall, AG finished the regular season ranked just inside the top 150 in 9-cat, per-game value. That wasn't on par with his Yahoo ADP (118.4), but the late-round production is unsurprising. Fantasy managers should expect similar value from Gordon in 2024-25.
Nikola Jokic
Nikola Jokic goes for 34/19/7/0/1 in Game 7 loss
Sun, May 19, 2024, 10:16 PM
Olympics.com
Nikola Jokic accumulated 34 points (13-of-28 FGs, 6-of-7 FTs), 19 rebounds, seven assists, one block, and two 3-pointers in 47 minutes in Sunday's loss to the Timberwolves.
Analysis: Jokic recorded another elite stat line, but his production tailed off in crunch time. Minnesota's depth and Denver's lack of consistent options factored into the Joker playing tired, and the NBA will have its sixth champion in as many seasons. Jokic was once again one of the best players in fantasy basketball, ranking third in 9-cat formats and second in 8-cat. His days as the unquestioned 1.1 pick in drafts may be finished, as Victor Wembanyama appears poised to take over, but Jokic should be no worse than 1.3, regardless of league. Jokic is expected to play for Serbia in the Paris Olympics this summer, and their first group stage game is against the United States (July 27).
