Shams: Nikola Joki? (knee) begins spot shooting
Tue, Jan 6, 2026, 1:06 PM
DNVR Nuggets
ESPN's Shams Charania reported on Tuesday that Nikola Joki? (knee) has begun to do some spot shooting.
Analysis: While the three-time NBA Most Valuable Player has begun to do some spot shooting, he's still considered to be “weeks away” from a return. In his report, Charania mentioned the end of January as a potential return window for the center. Until then, the Nuggets will continue to rely on DaRon Holmes II and Zeke Nnaji to fill the void at the five.
Aaron Gordon
Aaron Gordon, Tim Hardaway Jr. questionable
Tue, Jan 6, 2026, 9:55 AM
NBA Injury Report
Aaron Gordon (hamstring) and Tim Hardaway Jr. (illness management) are questionable for Wednesday's matchup with the Celtics.
Analysis: Gordon and THJ sat out of Monday's win over Philadelphia, and Peyton Watson, Spencer Jones and Zeke Nnaji filled in. Nnaji went for 21/8 across 32 minutes off the bench, and Watson continued to shine as a starter, going for 24/7/4 across 44 minutes. Watson, Jones and Nnaji should all see similar run Wednesday if Gordon and Hardaway Jr. are sidelined again.
Jamal Murray
Jamal Murray, Christian Braun questionable vs. BOS
Tue, Jan 6, 2026, 9:48 AM
NBA Injury Report
Jamal Murray (ankle) and Christian Braun (ankle) are questionable for Wednesday's matchup with the Celtics.
Analysis: Murray and Braun sat out Monday's upset win over the 76ers, but they've got a chance to return following a one-game absence. If Murray and Braun are out for a second straight game, Jalen Pickett and Bruce Brown would be in line for bumps in playing time and production. Pickett went for 29/5/7 on Monday, and Brown finished with 19/6/2.
Peyton Watson
Peyton Watson records 24/7/4/1/2 line vs. Philly
Mon, Jan 5, 2026, 5:50 PM
Peyton Watson stuffed the stat sheet on Monday with 24 points (7-of-13 FGs, 8-of-10 FTs), seven rebounds, four assists, one steal, two blocks, two three-pointers and six turnovers against the 76ers.
Analysis: Watson has been a scoring machine for the shorthanded Nuggets. Since Nikola Joki? injured his knee, Watson has averaged 23 points per game. He has been average in other categories, but he has been on an offensive tear. He coughed the ball up a career-worst six times in this game, but the rest of his performance was strong and helped Denver steal a win on the road. Watson will remain a must-roster player until Aaron Gordon (hamstring) returns, and he should still hold value beyond that.
Zeke Nnaji
Zeke Nnaji chips in 21/8/1/2/2 line off bench
Mon, Jan 5, 2026, 5:46 PM
Zeke Nnaji provided a boost off the bench with 21 points (7-of-11 FGs), eight rebounds, one assist, two steals, two blocks and four three-pointers against the 76ers on Monday.
Analysis: Nnaji hasn't filled the starting center spot with both Nikola Joki? (knee) and Jonas Valan?i?nas (calf) sidelined, but he has been solid as the backup to DaRon Holmes II. However, in this game, he was more than just a solid reserve. Nnaji matched his career high for points, nearly recorded a double-double and contributed four “stocks” in 32 minutes off the bench. Whether he moves into the starting lineup or continues to come off the bench, Nnaji is the better option than Holmes as a fill-in.
Aaron Gordon
Aaron Gordon, Tim Hardaway Jr. out Monday vs. PHI
Mon, Jan 5, 2026, 7:41 AM
NBA Injury Report
Aaron Gordon (hamstring) and Tim Hardaway Jr. (illness management) are out for Monday's matchup with the 76ers.
Analysis: It's not surprising that Gordon will sit out the second leg of a back-to-back set after returning from a long absence on Sunday. With Gordon, Jamal Murray (ankle) and Christian Braun (ankle) all joining Nikola Joki? (knee) and Jonas Valan?i?nas (calf) on the sideline, THJ will also get the night off to recover from an illness. Spencer Jones, Peyton Watson and Julian Strawther are all candidates for increased run against the 76ers tonight as Denver trots out a skeleton crew.
Jamal Murray
Jamal Murray, Christian Braun out Monday vs. PHI
Mon, Jan 5, 2026, 7:29 AM
NBA Injury Report
Jamal Murray (ankle) and Christian Braun (ankle) are out for Monday's matchup with the 76ers.
Analysis: Braun returned from a lengthy absence on Sunday, and Murray has been dealing with an ankle injury of his own, so it's not surprising that both players will miss the second leg of Denver's back-to-back set. Jalen Pickett and Bruce Brown will likely take the lead in the Nuggets' backcourt against the 76ers.
Jamal Murray
Murray dishes out 16 assists in loss to Nets
Sun, Jan 4, 2026, 12:28 PM
Jamal Murray amassed 27 points (11-of-23 FGs, 4-of-4 FTs), six rebounds and a season-high 16 assists over 39 minutes in Sunday's loss to the Nets.
Analysis: The 16 helpers were a season-high for Murray as he also topped 20 points for the 13th time in his last 15 games since a 52-point explosion back on December 3. The 28-year-old guard will be tasked with serving as Denver's primary offensive catalyst while Nikola Joki? (knee) is sidelined until at least late January. He's delivered second-round fantasy value this season, averaging 25.4 points, 4.6 rebounds, 7.2 assists, 1.0 steals and 0.3 blocks through 34 games. The injury-ravaged Nuggets will play four games next week against Eastern Conference opponents with matchups against the 76ers, Celtics, Hawks and Bucks.
Aaron Gordon
Gordon piles up 20 points, six boards in return
Sun, Jan 4, 2026, 12:26 PM
Aaron Gordon tallied 20 points (8-of-15 FGs, 4-of-6 FTs), six rebounds and two assists over 21 minutes during Sunday's loss to the Nets.
Analysis: Gordon looked sharp in his first game action since November 21, finishing a couple boards shy of a double-double in limited minutes off the bench, following a six-week absence recovering from a hamstring strain. The 30-year-old's return couldn't come at a more opportune moment for the injury-ravaged Nuggets, who are missing several starters including franchise icon Nikola Joki? (knee).
Peyton Watson
Watson contributes 23 points in loss to Nets
Sun, Jan 4, 2026, 12:25 PM
Peyton Watson posted 23 points (8-of-14 FGs, 6-of-7 FTs), four rebounds, two assists and one block over 28 minutes during Sunday's loss to the Nets.
Analysis: Watson has flashed some decent scoring upside over the past week, averaging 19.8 points over his last four games. His all-around fantasy upside is relatively limited, but he'll continue to see an increase in minutes and scoring opportunities for the injury-depleted Nuggets as they embark on a busy four-game week against a handful of Eastern Conference opponents.
Aaron Gordon
Aaron Gordon (hamstring) available Sunday vs. BKN
Sun, Jan 4, 2026, 8:47 AM
Denver Nuggets
Aaron Gordon (hamstring) is available for Sunday's game against the Nets.
Analysis: Gordon has been cleared to return to action after a hamstring injury suffered on November 21 forced him to the sidelines. Spencer Jones may be headed to the bench, but he should remain in the rotation since Gordon's playing time will be restricted.
Christian Braun
Christian Braun (ankle) available Sunday vs. BKN
Sun, Jan 4, 2026, 8:43 AM
Denver Nuggets
Christian Braun (ankle) is available for Sunday's game against the Nets.
Analysis: Sunday's game will be Braun's first since November 15. While the Nuggets have not provided a specific number, he will be under a minutes restriction in his first game back. Jalen Pickett may be headed back to the bench, but he's unlikely to fall out of the rotation entirely due to the restriction placed on Braun.
Jamal Murray
Jamal Murray (ankle) available Sunday vs. Brooklyn
Sun, Jan 4, 2026, 8:39 AM
Denver Nuggets
Jamal Murray (ankle) is available for Sunday's game against the Nets.
Analysis: Murray was initially probable for Sunday's game, so the status upgrade was expected. He'll once again be Denver's primary scoring option, but he will have help thanks to the returns of Christian Braun and Aaron Gordon.
Jamal Murray
Jamal Murray (ankle) probable Sunday vs. Brooklyn
Sat, Jan 3, 2026, 11:25 AM
NBA Injury Report
Jamal Murray (ankle) is probable for Sunday's game against the Nets.
Analysis: Murray tweaked his left ankle during Friday's loss to the Cavaliers, but the probable tag suggests that he will be available on Sunday. With the Nuggets being as shorthanded as they currently are, the last thing the team needs is to lose Murray as well.
Aaron Gordon
Aaron Gordon (hamstring) questionable Sunday
Sat, Jan 3, 2026, 11:20 AM
NBA Injury Report
Aaron Gordon (hamstring) is questionable for Sunday's game against the Nets.
Analysis: If he's able to play, Sunday's game would be Gordon's first since November 21. Spencer Jones has filled in admirably in Gordon's absence, but the two-way contract forward's fantasy ceiling would take a significant hit once he returns to the bench.
Christian Braun
Christian Braun (ankle) questionable Sunday
Sat, Jan 3, 2026, 11:01 AM
NBA Injury Report
Christian Braun (ankle) is questionable for Sunday's game against the Nets.
Analysis: Braun has been out since November 15. While his absence may not have significantly affected fantasy basketball, that was at a time when the Nuggets were close to full strength. With Nikola Joki? and Cameron Johnson out, and Aaron Gordon also questionable for Sunday, there's a clear need for Braun's return. While a minutes limit may be in play for his first games back, Braun will have a higher fantasy ceiling due to the absences.
Jamal Murray
Murray goes off for 34 points in loss to Cavs
Fri, Jan 2, 2026, 4:12 PM
Jamal Murray exploded for a game-high 34 points (12-of-28 FGs), six rebounds, seven assists and one block over 38 minutes during Friday's loss to the Cavaliers.
Analysis: It became the de facto Murray show for the injury-plagued Nuggets in their second contest since losing superstar Nikola Joki? earlier this week to a hyperextended left knee that is expected to keep him sidelined into late January. The 28-year-old star put up a whopping 28 shots in this one, his third-most in a game this season, and broke the 30-point barrier for the 10th time. He poured in 28 points by halftime and was relatively quiet down the home stretch as Denver's lead evaporated. He'll be asked to carry Denver for the foreseeable future since they're also playing without starters Aaron Gordon (hamstring), Christian Braun (ankle), Cam Johnson (knee) and Jonas Valanciunas (calf). It's a positive short-term development from a fantasy standpoint as it significantly raises his scoring floor.
Peyton Watson
Watson adds 21 points in loss to Cavaliers
Fri, Jan 2, 2026, 4:11 PM
Peyton Watson chipped in with 21 points (9-of-22 FGs, 1-of-2 FTs), four rebounds, three assists and one steal over 40 minutes in Friday's loss to the Cavaliers.
Analysis: With injuries decimating Denver's starting lineup, Watson hoisted a season-high 22 shot attempts in this one. The 23-year-old wing doesn't offer enough from a fantasy standpoint, besides some immediate scoring upside, to warrant consideration outside of deeper leagues. He'll have an opportunity over the next few weeks to show what he can do with more on his plate.
Julian Strawther
Julian Strawther (illness) available Friday
Fri, Jan 2, 2026, 12:34 PM
NBA Injury Report
Julian Strawther (illness) is available for Friday's game against the Cavaliers.
Analysis: Strawther was initially listed as probable but is now available. However, he is not guaranteed to play rotation minutes, so leave him on the waiver wire.
Jamal Murray
Jamal Murray (ankle) available Friday vs. CLE
Fri, Jan 2, 2026, 12:32 PM
NBA Injury Report
Jamal Murray (ankle) is available for Friday's game against the Cavaliers.
Analysis: Initially probable for Friday's game, Murray is officially good to go. He'll once again take on the role of Denver's primary offensive option as the team continues without the injured Nikola Joki?.
