Robinson Pina
Robinson Pina Activated, then outrighted
Thu, Nov 6, 2025, 12:03 PM
The Blue Jays activated Pina (elbow) from the 60-day injured list Thursday and outrighted him to Triple-A Buffalo.
Analysis: Pina was recalled and immediately placed on the 60-day IL with a UCL sprain in September as a means to free up a spot on the 40-man roster. The righty did not require surgery and could be ready for spring training, but it would now be as a non-roster invitee.
Shane Bieber
Shane Bieber Staying in Toronto
Tue, Nov 4, 2025, 9:15 PM
Bieber exercised his $16 million player option for 2026 on Tuesday, Jon Heyman of the New York Post reports.
Analysis: After falling just one game short of capturing his first World Series title, Bieber will opt into another year with the Blue Jays and receive a $6 million raise in the process. The 30-year-old right-hander missed the first several months of the 2025 season while working his way back from Tommy John surgery but returned in time to make seven regular-season starts and post a 3.57 ERA across 40.1 innings. It remains to be seen how his surgically repaired elbow will hold up over the course of a full season, but the 2020 AL Cy Young Award winner is still deserving of fantasy attention heading into 2026.
Alejandro Kirk
Alejandro Kirk In lineup for Game 7
Sat, Nov 1, 2025, 2:42 PM
Kirk (hand) will start at catcher and bat sixth Saturday in Game 7 of the World Series against the Dodgers.
Analysis: Kirk made an early exit from Game 6 on Friday after getting hit on his left hand by a pitch. X-rays on his hand came back negative shortly after the game, and he'll officially remain in the starting nine for the final game of the World Series. Kirk has slashed .265/.361/.482 with five homers, 13 RBI and 13 runs scored across 77 plate appearances this postseason.
Alejandro Kirk
Alejandro Kirk Headed for X-rays
Fri, Oct 31, 2025, 10:47 PM
Kirk will undergo X-rays on his left hand after getting hit by a pitch in Game 6 of the World Series on Friday, Keegan Matheson of MLB.com reports.
Analysis: Kirk took an 85-mph splitter off his hand in the ninth inning of Friday's contest and was immediately replaced on the bases by a pinch runner. The Jays are optimistic that the 26-year-old backstop avoided a significant injury, but they'll send him in for imaging as a precaution. If Kirk is unable to start in the final game of the World Series on Saturday, Tyler Heineman would get the nod at catcher.
Max Scherzer
Max Scherzer Would start potential Game 7
Fri, Oct 31, 2025, 3:27 PM
Blue Jays manager John Schneider said Friday that Scherzer would start a potential Game 7 of the World Series on Saturday versus the Dodgers, Rob Longley of the Toronto Sun reports.
Analysis: The Blue Jays are hoping to close things out with a win Friday in Game 6, but if that doesn't happen, they'll turn to the 41-year-old Saturday. Scherzer was charged with three runs over 4.1 frames in Game 3, taking a no-decision in Toronto's extra-innings loss. It would be an all-hands-on-deck situation for the Blue Jays if there is a Game 7, so Scherzer's leash would be short.
Bo Bichette
Bo Bichette Not anticipating knee surgery
Fri, Oct 31, 2025, 3:17 PM
Bichette said Friday that he does not expect to require surgery this offseason to repair a PCL sprain in his left knee, Ben Nicholson-Smith of Sportsnet.ca reports.
Analysis: Bichette was diagnosed with a sprained knee in early September and missed seven weeks of action before rejoining the Blue Jays' roster for the World Series. He has been noticeably gimpy, but Bichette expects his knee injury to heal with rest. The impending free agent slashed .311/.357/.483 over 139 regular-season games and is 5-for-16 at the plate so far in the World Series.
George Springer
George Springer Back in lineup for Game 6
Fri, Oct 31, 2025, 2:34 PM
Springer (side) will bat leadoff and serve as the designated hitter in Friday's World Series Game 6 against the Dodgers.
Analysis: Springer did not play in Games 4 or 5 after exiting Game 3 with discomfort in his right side, but he's improved enough to give it a go as the Fall Classic moves back to Toronto. The 36-year-old Springer has an .884 OPS with four home runs over 14 contest this postseason.
George Springer
George Springer Likely to return for Game 6
Thu, Oct 30, 2025, 4:47 PM
Manager John Schneider said Thursday that there's a strong chance Springer (side) returns to the starting lineup in Game 6 of the World Series on Friday, Arden Zwelling of Sportsnet.ca reports.
Analysis: Toronto's skipper added that Springer has "checked every box physically so far" and nearly returned to the lineup in Game 5, but the Jays instead opted to give the outfielder another day to recover. His return to the lineup after a two-game absence would provide Toronto's offense with a significant power boost, as the 36-year-old has posted a .561 slugging percentage across 65 plate appearances in the postseason.
Trey Yesavage
Trey Yesavage Historic performance in Game 5
Wed, Oct 29, 2025, 11:23 PM
Yesavage picked up the win in Game 5 of the World Series against the Dodgers on Wednesday, allowing one earned run on three hits and zero walks while striking out 12 batters in seven innings.
Analysis: Outside of the third-inning solo homer he gave up to Enrique Hernandez, Yesavage's performance Wednesday was nothing short of brilliant versus one of baseball's most dynamic offenses. The 22-year-old righty pounded the strike zone often, throwing 71 of his 104 pitches for strikes, and by doing so, he finished the night with a dozen punchouts -- the most any rookie has had in a World Series game. Now carrying a 3.46 ERA in the postseason, Yesavage is done starting games in 2025, but he's expected to be available out of the bullpen if the series goes to Game 7.
George Springer
George Springer On bench again for Game 5
Wed, Oct 29, 2025, 5:24 PM
Springer (side) isn't in the lineup for Game 5 of the World Series against the Dodgers on Wednesday.
Analysis: Manager John Schneider said Wednesday that Springer has made "significant progress" in his recovery since exiting Game 3 with a side injury, per Ben Nicholson-Smith of Sportsnet.ca, but evidently not enough to return to the starting nine for the final game in Los Angeles. Bo Bichette will get another start as Toronto's designated hitter Wednesday; meanwhile, Springer could be available as a pinch hitter.
George Springer
George Springer Absent from Game 4 lineup
Tue, Oct 28, 2025, 5:15 PM
Springer (side) isn't in the lineup for Game 4 of the World Series against the Dodgers on Tuesday.
Analysis: Springer was forced to leave Game 3 early after injuring his side on a swing in the seventh inning, and he'll officially remain on the bench for the beginning of Tuesday's contest. Bo Bichette will work as Toronto's designated hitter in Springer's stead, opening up second base for Isiah Kiner-Falefa.
George Springer
George Springer Sent for MRI
Tue, Oct 28, 2025, 2:11 AM
Springer will undergo an MRI after departing Monday's Game 3 of the World Series due to right side discomfort, Jon Paul Hoornstra of Newsweek.com reports.
Analysis: Springer exited Monday's matchup in the seventh inning after a swing left him in obvious discomfort. The club will presumably wait until reviewing his scans to determine his status for Tuesday's Game 4 and the remainder of the series. Ty France could draw the start in the DH slot if Springer is unable to go Tuesday.
George Springer
George Springer Exits Game 3 with injury
Mon, Oct 27, 2025, 9:38 PM
Springer was removed from Monday's Game 3 of the World Series against the Dodgers due to an apparent right side injury, Blake Murphy of Sportsnet.ca reports.
Analysis: Springer led off the top of the seventh inning and appeared to take a normal cut at the first pitch, but he was spotted grabbing his side after the swing and was promptly lifted. He'll presumably be sent for further testing before the club comments on his availability for Game 4 and beyond. Ty France was called on to pinch hit in Springer's place.
Bo Bichette
Bo Bichette Will return to lineup for Game 3
Mon, Oct 27, 2025, 10:08 AM
Blue Jays manager John Schneider said Sunday that Bichette will start at second base in Game 3 of the World Series on Monday, Arden Zwelling of Sportsnet.ca reports.
Analysis: After starting Game 1 and reaching base twice on a single and a walk, Bichette was held out of the lineup in Game 2 (though he did receive one plate appearance off the bench). He'll return to second base for Game 3 as the series moves to Los Angeles and will likely serve as the Blue Jays' cleanup hitter.
Kevin Gausman
Kevin Gausman Pitches well in tough loss
Sat, Oct 25, 2025, 11:20 PM
Gausman (2-2) took the loss against the Dodgers on Saturday in Game 2 of the World Series, allowing three runs on four hits and no walks while striking out six batters over 6.2 innings.
Analysis: Gausman gave up a run on a pair of two-out hits in the first inning, then settled in to retire 17 straight batters. That streak was broken when Will Smith tagged him for a solo homer in the seventh inning, and Max Muncy followed suit with his own solo blast two batters later. That spelled the end of Gausman's outing, and he ended up with the loss as Dodgers starter Yoshinobu Yamamoto spun a one-run, complete-game gem. Gausman did log his longest career postseason outing and was efficient in throwing 59 of 82 pitches for strikes while registering a quality start. He figures to start again in Game 6 if the series goes that long.
Bo Bichette
Bo Bichette Out of Game 2 lineup
Sat, Oct 25, 2025, 2:39 PM
Bichette isn't in the lineup for Game 2 of the World Series against the Dodgers on Saturday.
Analysis: Bichette played in Game 1 on Friday -- his first game action in seven weeks -- but the Jays will keep the 27-year-old infielder on the bench Saturday while he continues to nurse a left knee injury. Isiah Kiner-Falefa will start at second base as a result and bat eighth.
Bo Bichette
Bo Bichette Playing second base, batting fourth
Fri, Oct 24, 2025, 2:23 PM
Bichette will start at second base and hit cleanup in Friday's World Series Game 1 against the Dodgers.
Analysis: Bichette has never played second base at the major-league level, having last seen action at the position in 2019 at Triple-A Buffalo. It's a big ask for him to start at the keystone in Game 1 of the World Series, particularly after he missed the past seven weeks with a PCL sprain in his left knee. However, the Blue Jays are willing to roll the dice in order to get Bichette's bat into the lineup and keep George Springer at designated hitter, where he's thrived.
Ty France
Ty France Added to roster for World Series
Fri, Oct 24, 2025, 9:57 AM
France (oblique) is on the Blue Jays' World Series roster.
Analysis: France has been sidelined since the last week of the regular season with a left oblique strain, but he's recovered from that injury and the Blue Jays have elected to include him on their roster for the Fall Classic. The 31-year-old is likely to be used in a reserve role.
Bo Bichette
Bo Bichette Included on World Series roster
Fri, Oct 24, 2025, 9:52 AM
Bichette (knee) is on the Blue Jays' World Series roster.
Analysis: Bichette has been shelved for the past seven weeks while recovering from a PCL sprain in his left knee, but he's ramped up his workouts lately and has progressed enough to be added to Toronto's roster for the Fall Classic. The Blue Jays have not revealed what the plan is for Bichette's role, but with Andres Gimenez expected to remain at shortstop, Bichette is likely to handle second base, serve as the designated hitter or perhaps be a bat off the bench.
George Springer
George Springer Could play outfield, if needed
Thu, Oct 23, 2025, 1:06 PM
Blue Jays manager John Schneider said Thursday that Springer is "very capable" of playing the outfield in the World Series, if needed, Ben Nicholson-Smith of Sportsnet.ca reports.
Analysis: Springer has been deployed as the Blue Jays' primary designated hitter this season and hasn't played an inning in the outfield in a month. However, one way to reincorporate Bo Bichette (knee) back into the lineup would be to use him at DH and have Springer play the outfield. Schneider did note that he'd prefer not to take players out of their comfort zone, and Springer clearly has settled in nicely at DH with a resurgent regular season (.959 OPS, 32 home runs) and postseason (.929 OPS, four home runs).
