Yimi Garcia
Yimi Garcia Next rehab start Saturday
Thu, Jun 4, 2026, 4:22 PM
Garcia's (elbow) next rehab outing will be Saturday with Single-A Dunedin, Arden Zwelling of Sportsnet.ca reports.
Analysis: Garcia began his rehab assignment Wednesday with Single-A Dunedin. He was able to toss a scoreless inning on no hits with a strikeout and walk across 14 pitches.
Brandon Valenzuela
Brandon Valenzuela Taking seat Thursday
Thu, Jun 4, 2026, 3:04 PM
Valenzuela isn't in the lineup for Thursday's game against Atlanta.
Analysis: Valenzuela will step out of the starting nine Thursday after going 1-for-6 with a solo homer and three strikeouts across the first two games of the series. Tyler Heineman will fill in as Toronto's catcher and bat eighth.
Tanner Andrews
Tanner Andrews Jettisoned from 40-man
Thu, Jun 4, 2026, 2:54 PM
The Blue Jays designated Andrews for assignment Thursday.
Analysis: Andrews turned in a pair of scoreless outings after being selected to the active roster last week but was optioned back to Triple-A shortly thereafter. He'll now end up as the odd man out of a 40-man spot to make room for Chad Dallas, who was selected to the big-league roster in a corresponding move. Andrews owns a 1.29 ERA through 21 innings at Buffalo, which could draw interest on the waiver wire from teams in search of bullpen help.
Contract selected ahead of debut
Thu, Jun 4, 2026, 2:49 PM
The Blue Jays selected Dallas' contract from Triple-A Buffalo on Thursday.
Analysis: Dallas is in line to serve as the bulk reliever Thursday in Atlanta in what will be his major-league debut. The 25-year-old has put up a 4.50 ERA and 38:13 K:BB over 36 innings during his time with Buffalo this season in his first year back from Tommy John surgery. Dylan Cease (hamstring) and Max Scherzer (forearm) are both due back soon, so Dallas could be sent back down following Thursday's outing.
Hayden Juenger
Hayden Juenger Back in Buffalo
Thu, Jun 4, 2026, 2:47 PM
The Blue Jays optioned Juenger to Triple-A Buffalo on Thursday.
Analysis: Juenger appeared in two games for Toronto after being recalled from Triple-A on Saturday, giving up three earned runs on two hits and two walks across two innings. He'll now head back to the minors to make room for Chad Dallas, who was selected to the active roster in a corresponding move.
Mason Fluharty
Mason Fluharty Working as opener Thursday
Thu, Jun 4, 2026, 8:37 AM
Fluharty will serve as the Blue Jays' opening pitcher for Thursday's game in Atlanta, Arden Zwelling of Sportsnet.ca reports.
Analysis: The southpaw hasn't recorded more than four outs in any of his 32 appearances on the season, so the Blue Jays aren't likely to ask him to work past the first inning Thursday in what will be his third start of the season. Toronto hasn't named a designated bulk reliever to enter the game behind Fluharty, but Chad Dallas was added to the Blue Jays' taxi squad and could be formally called up from Triple-A Buffalo prior to the contest. The Blue Jays also acquired Simeon Woods Richardson from the Twins on Wednesday, and he could be an option to pitch in bulk relief if he's able to join the team in Atlanta ahead of the game's 7:15 p.m. ET start time.
Brandon Valenzuela
Brandon Valenzuela Homers in losing effort
Wed, Jun 3, 2026, 11:14 PM
Valenzuela went 1-for-3 with a solo home run In the 7-3 loss to Atlanta on Wednesday.
Analysis: Valenzuela smacked a solo shot off of Tyler Kinley in the ninth for his fifth of the season. The rookie has gotten plenty of playing time for the injured Alejandro Kirk (thumb) since being called up in early April. Kirk is expected to return at some time next week, but at designated hitter, so it will not affect Valenzuela's playing time yet. The 25-year-old is batting .231 with 11 RBI and 14 runs scored in 40 games this season.
Nathan Lukes
Nathan Lukes Homers batting leadoff
Wed, Jun 3, 2026, 11:05 PM
Lukes went 2-5 with a solo home run and an additional run scored in Wednesday's 7-3 loss to Atlanta.
Analysis: Lukes cranked a home run to right off of Grant Holmes in the third inning to give Toronto their last lead of the game. The outfielder has been hot since coming back from an injured hamstring in late May, continuing a 10-game hitting streak where he has gone 14-31 with three RBI, four doubles, and six runs scored. The 31-year-old has occupied the corner outfield spots since returning, while starting nearly everyday.
Patrick Corbin
Patrick Corbin Takes home the loss
Wed, Jun 3, 2026, 10:27 PM
Corbin (2-2) picked up the loss Wednesday, allowing four runs on six hits and two walks over five innings during a 7-3 loss against Atlanta. He struck out one.
Analysis: Corbin gave up his most runs since his first start with the Blue Jays, including the game-deciding three-run homer to Mauricio Dubon in the third, right after Toronto took the lead. This is Corbin's twelfth straight loss to Atlanta, and ended his streak of nine consecutive starts with three earned runs or less. Overall, the lefty has been a very reliable option on the mound this season for the Blue Jays, with a 3.98 ERA and a 37:16 K:BB over 54.1 innings and 11 starts. Corbin is projected to pitch at home next week against the Phillies.
Joe Mantiply
Joe Mantiply Moved to 60-day IL
Wed, Jun 3, 2026, 9:22 PM
The Blue Jays transferred Mantipky (knee) to the 60-day injured list Wednesday, Ben Nicholson-Smith of Sportsnet.ca reports.
Analysis: Mantiply is set to undergo arthroscopic surgery on his left knee, so the Blue Jays will stash him away on the 60-day IL and give his spot on the 40-man roster to Simeon Woods Richardson, who was acquired from the Twins on Wednesday.
Simeon Woods Richardson
Simeon Woods Richardson Shipped to Toronto
Wed, Jun 3, 2026, 6:42 PM
The Twins traded Woods Richardson to the Blue Jays on Wednesday in exchange for cash, Mitch Bannon of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: Woods Richardson was DFA'd by Minnesota on Saturday after putting up a 7.74 ERA and 1.89 WHIP over 47.2 innings. He'll reclaim a 40-man roster spot upon joining his new organization and could fill an immediate need for the big club, as the Blue Jays currently have 10 pitchers on the injured list.
Jesus Sanchez
Jesus Sanchez Good to go Wednesday
Wed, Jun 3, 2026, 3:52 PM
Sanchez (wrist) is batting cleanup as the designated hitter Wednesday against Atlanta.
Analysis: After sitting out Tuesday's series opener due a bruised wrist after being struck by a stray ball from the stands Sunday, Sanchez will rejoin the lineup Wednesday in a non-defensive capacity. The veteran outfielder has been a key lineup piece for Toronto so far in 2026 with six homers, 28 RBI, 19 runs and a .286/.322/.458 slash line in 58 games.
Could make MLB debut Thursday
Wed, Jun 3, 2026, 3:05 PM
Dallas has been added to the Blue Jays' taxi squad and could make his major-league debut with a start Thursday in Atlanta, Arden Zwelling of Sportsnet.ca reports.
Analysis: The Blue Jays have yet to announce a starting pitcher for Thursday's series finale, but they've tipped their hand with Dallas joining the taxi squad. Dallas missed the entire 2025 campaign while recovering from Tommy John surgery, but he's looked solid in 2026 at Triple-A Buffalo, holding a 4.50 ERA and 38:13 K:BB over 36 frames. Toronto could get both Dylan Cease (hamstring) and Max Scherzer (forearm) back next week, so it's likely to be just a spot start for Dallas, if he does indeed take the ball Thursday.
George Springer
George Springer Out of Wednesday's lineup
Wed, Jun 3, 2026, 2:57 PM
Springer is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against Atlanta.
Analysis: Springer will ride the bench for the second time in the past three games for Toronto. After posting a .959 OPS in 140 regular-season games last year, the 36-year-old has had a down campaign thus far in 2026, slashing .206/.282/.350 with just five home runs through 160 at-bats. Jesus Sanchez (wrist) will take over at DH for Springer and bat cleanup.
Justin Topa
Justin Topa Nets minors deal from Blue Jays
Wed, Jun 3, 2026, 12:17 PM
The Blue Jays signed Topa to a minor-league contract Wednesday, Aaron Gleeman of AaronGleeman.com reports.
Analysis: Topa was released by the Twins in late May after posting an 8.05 ERA and 2.00 WHIP across 19 innings. The 35-year-old reliever will look to get back on track at Triple-A Buffalo and earn another chance at the big-league level.
Alejandro Kirk
Alejandro Kirk Could return early next week
Wed, Jun 3, 2026, 10:00 AM
Kirk (thumb) could be activated from the injured list early next week, with Blue Jays manager John Schneider indicating the catcher would need about 20 at-bats on his rehab assignment before being ready to rejoin the lineup, Mitch Bannon of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: Kirk will begin his rehab stint at Single-A Dunedin on Wednesday, and depending on whether he's allowed to play on consecutive days right away, he could have time to get in 20 at-bats by the weekend. The organization might elect to be a little more cautious with the 27-year-old given that he last saw big-league action April 3, but with the Jays sliding in the standings and looking for a spark, they'll want their starting backstop back in the lineup as soon as possible. Tyler Heineman and Brandon Valenzuela will continue holding down the fort behind the plate until Kirk is cleared to return.
Lazaro Estrada
Lazaro Estrada Kicks off rehab assignment
Wed, Jun 3, 2026, 8:45 AM
Estrada (shoulder) yielded one run on three walks over 2.1 innings in his first rehab start with Triple-A Buffalo on Tuesday.
Analysis: Estrada didn't give up a hit in the outing and fanned three batters, but he yielded a run on three walks and a sacrifice fly. The right-hander was making his first appearance in two months, as he's been dealing with a right shoulder impingement. Estrada will likely need at least a couple more rehab outings, and he could remain at Buffalo rather than join the big club when he's done with his rehab assignment.
Kevin Gausman
Kevin Gausman Yields four runs in Tuesday's loss
Tue, Jun 2, 2026, 9:07 PM
Gausman (4-4) took the loss against Atlanta on Tuesday, allowing four runs on five hits and two walks while striking out eight across six innings.
Analysis: Gausman got off to a shaky start, yielding two runs in the first inning before allowing another batter to cross home plate in the third. He appeared to have settled in after that, retiring seven consecutive batters that included four-straight strikeouts from the fourth to the fifth frames. However, his bid for his eighth quality start of the season ended on a solo home run from Matt Olson, which ended up being the game-winning run for Atlanta. It was just the third time in 13 starts this season that Gausman gave up at least four earned runs, which has the veteran right-hander at a 3.36 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and 74:14 K:BB across 75 innings. He'll look to get back into the win column in his next start, which is lined up for this weekend at home against the Orioles.
Kazuma Okamoto
Kazuma Okamoto Goes deep for 13th time
Tue, Jun 2, 2026, 8:42 PM
Okamoto went 2-for-3 with a walk and a two-run home run during Tuesday's 4-3 loss to Atlanta.
Analysis: Okamoto put the Blue Jays on the board in the second inning with a two-run homer off Bryce Elder to tie the game at 2-2. Okamoto has gone deep three times over his last six games and is up to 13 home runs on the season, which leads the Blue Jays and ranks 12th in the American League, though he's also struck out 77 times, which is fourth-most in the AL. Over his last seven games, Okamoto has gone 6-for-22 (.273) with four extra-base hits and eight RBI.
Max Scherzer
Max Scherzer Making next rehab start Friday
Tue, Jun 2, 2026, 5:39 PM
Scherzer (forearm/ankle/thumb) expects to make his next rehab start with Triple-A Buffalo on Friday, Mitch Bannon of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: The veteran right-hander made his first rehab outing with Buffalo on Sunday and threw 41 pitches across three scoreless innings. Scherzer hopes to build up to around 60 pitches in his next start, which could be his final rehab outing before being cleared to rejoin Toronto's rotation.
