Ricky Tiedemann
Ricky Tiedemann Scratched with neck issue
Thu, Jun 25, 2026, 1:33 PM
Tiedemann (elbow) did not make a scheduled rehab start with Single-A Dunedin on Tuesday due to neck soreness, Thomas Hall of MLB.com reports.
Analysis: Tiedemann had been set for his first start with Dunedin after making a pair of one-inning starts in the rookie-level Florida Complex League. The Blue Jays have not yet decided when Tiedemann will next take the ball, but the neck issue shouldn't be too significant of a setback. Tiedemann missed all of 2025 after Tommy John surgery and was shut down this spring due to renewed elbow soreness. He will eventually be assigned to Triple-A Buffalo once he's done with his rehab assignment.
Heating up at Single-A
Thu, Jun 25, 2026, 9:58 AM
Parker went 1-for-4 with a solo home run for Single-A Dunedin on Wednesday.
Analysis: The homer was Parker's fourth in the last six games, and through 17 contests in June he's produced a .290/.384/.629 slash line with nine total extra-base hits, six steals and a much-improved 20.5 percent strikeout rate. The eighth overall pick in the 2025 First-Year Player Draft out of a Mississippi high school, Parker needed a couple months to adjust to pro ball, but if he maintains his current level of performance for another few weeks he could reach High-A before his 20th birthday in August.
Still slugging since promotion
Thu, Jun 25, 2026, 9:52 AM
Keys went 2-for-4 with a walk, two home runs and four RBI for Triple-A Buffalo on Wednesday.
Analysis: The 23-year-old third baseman began the year with a .287/.419/.585 slash line and 14 homers in 49 games for Double-A New Hampshire, and since getting promoted to Buffalo in early June, Keys has kept right on slugging with a .288/.408/.712 line and six long balls in his first 17 games at Triple-A. A fourth-round pick in the 2024 First-Year Player Draft out of Bucknell, Keys is knocking loudly on the door of the majors, but it's unclear where he might fit this summer on a Blue Jays roster that has Vladimir Guerrero at first base, Kazuma Okamoto at third and George Springer at DH.
Trey Yesavage
Trey Yesavage Mixed results in no-decision
Wed, Jun 24, 2026, 9:27 PM
Yesavage did not factor into the decision in Wednesday's 3-1 loss to the Astros, allowing one run on two hits and five walks with five strikeouts over 5.2 innings.
Analysis: Yesavage allowed a run in the first inning but kept the Astros off the board from there, falling one out shy of a quality start and departing in a 1-1 tie. Despite a solid result, the 22-year-old has now issued five or more walks in three of his past five outings. He'll take a 3.56 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and 58:30 K:BB across 60.2 innings this season into a home matchup against the Mets next week.
Nathan Lukes
Nathan Lukes Goes deep in loss
Wed, Jun 24, 2026, 9:18 PM
Lukes went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Wednesday's 3-1 loss to the Astros.
Analysis: Lukes provided Toronto's only offense with a solo homer in the first inning, but he was lifted in favor of Myles Straw to face lefty Josh Hader in the ninth. It continued a strong June for the 31-year-old, who's hit safely in 16 of 20 games while batting .300 with three home runs, six RBI and eight runs scored this month. For the year, he's slashing .301/.344/.420 with three long balls, 15 RBI and 16 runs scored across 156 plate appearances.
Jesus Sanchez
Jesus Sanchez Left out of starting nine
Wed, Jun 24, 2026, 4:49 PM
Sanchez is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Astros.
Analysis: Sanchez is stuck in a 3-for-23 skid at the plate over his last seven games and will be given the night off to regroup. The Blue Jays will go with Davis Schneider in left field in place of Sanchez.
Addison Barger
Addison Barger Still sore while hitting
Wed, Jun 24, 2026, 3:55 PM
Blue Jays manager John Schneider said Wednesday that Barger (elbow) will fly back to Toronto soon to be examined by the medical staff before potentially beginning a rehab assignment, Keegan Matheson of MLB.com reports.
Analysis: The Blue Jays initially hoped Barger would be ready for a rehab assignment last week, but he's still feeling a bit of soreness in his right elbow at times when hitting. A revised timeline pointed toward Barger kicking off his rehab assignment Thursday, but it's unclear whether that could still happen. The 26-year-old has been sidelined since mid-May due to right elbow inflammation.
Ernie Clement
Ernie Clement Sitting again with hip issue
Wed, Jun 24, 2026, 2:14 PM
Clement (hip) is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Astros.
Analysis: Clement will be relegated to the bench for a second straight game while he tends to a sore left hip, which previously kept him out of the lineup for two games over the weekend. Luis Urias will pick up another start at the keystone Wednesday while Clement receives further maintenance for his hip.
Tyler Rogers
Tyler Rogers Blows save chance Tuesday
Wed, Jun 24, 2026, 9:45 AM
Rogers gave up two runs (one earned) on three hits in one inning of relief Tuesday to take his third blown save of the season in an extra-innings loss to the Astros.
Analysis: With Louis Varland getting some rest after throwing 40 pitches while working two of the prior three days, manager John Schneider had to look to other high-leverage options in a close game. Jeff Hoffman got the final two outs in the eighth inning with the score tied 4-4, and after the Blue Jays took a two-run lead in the bottom of that frame, Rogers got the call in the top of the ninth. The veteran right-hander couldn't close the door, giving up back-to-back singles to Jose Altuve and Yordan Alvarez to begin the inning and watching both eventually come around to score on a catcher's interference call and a sacrifice fly. The earned run was the first on Rogers' ledger since May 25, although he did get tagged for five unearned runs against the Cubs on June 19. On the season, he sports a 1.91 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and 20:12 K:BB over 37.2 innings with one win, two saves and 17 holds, and he may be due for some rest of his own -- only teammates Mason Fluharty (42 appearances) and Braydon Fisher (40) have appeared in more games this season than Rogers.
Luis Urias
Luis Urias Goes yard in Jays debut
Wed, Jun 24, 2026, 8:11 AM
Urias went 2-for-5 with a two-run home run in Tuesday's 9-7 extra-innings loss to the Astros.
Analysis: Starting at second base and batting seventh in his Blue Jays debut, Urias made an immediate impact when he took Peter Lambert deep in the fourth inning to get his new squad on the board. Urias had been posting big numbers for Triple-A Reno in the Diamondbacks' system to begin the season, but over the last three big-league campaigns, the 29-year-old infielder managed just a .213/.319/.337 slash line over 611 plate appearances while suiting up for four different teams. Urias has enough pop and positional versatility to find a role on the bench with Toronto, but he's unlikely to be a useful fantasy asset if he does receive consistent playing time.
Daulton Varsho
Daulton Varsho Bangs out three XBH on Tuesday
Wed, Jun 24, 2026, 8:06 AM
Varsho went 3-for-6 with two doubles, a two-run home run and a second run scored in Tuesday's 9-7 extra-innings loss to the Astros.
Analysis: The center fielder has been dialed in since returning from a wrist injury over the weekend. Over the last three games, Varsho has gone 5-for-14 with four extra-base hits (two doubles and two homers), four runs, five RBI and a steal. His seven home runs and 22 RBI in 67 contests this season are way off his 2025 pace, but Varsho still has time to heat up over the summer and avoid a disappointing campaign.
Kazuma Okamoto
Kazuma Okamoto On base five times in loss
Wed, Jun 24, 2026, 7:59 AM
Okamoto went 3-for-4 with two walks, a run scored and three RBI in Tuesday's 9-7 extra-inning loss to the Astros.
Analysis: His two-run single in the eighth inning looked like it might give Toronto the win, but the bullpen couldn't make a 6-4 lead stick. Okamoto has six hits and seven RBI in the last three games, continuing a June surge that has seen the 29-year-old third baseman deliver a .324/.397/.603 slash line over 19 games this month with five homers, 12 runs and 16 RBI.
Shane Bieber
Shane Bieber Rough return to rotation
Wed, Jun 24, 2026, 7:56 AM
Bieber didn't factor into the decision in Tuesday's 9-7 extra-innings loss to the Astros, coughing up four runs on nine hits -- including three home runs -- over 3.2 innings. He struck out two without walking a batter.
Analysis: Making his first start of the season after recovering from elbow trouble, Bieber didn't look sharp and served up back-to-back-to-back homers to Yainer Diaz, Cam Smith and Taylor Trammell in the fourth inning, with Trammell's blast reaching the upper deck at the Rogers Centre. The Blue Jays will be patient with Bieber, especially given their lack of healthy alternatives in the rotation, but there's little reason to have the veteran right-hander active in fantasy leagues until he shows some consistency. He's set to make his next start at home this weekend against the Rangers.
Ernie Clement
Ernie Clement Hip remains bothersome
Tue, Jun 23, 2026, 1:20 PM
Clement is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Astros to manage his sore left hip, Hazel Mae of Sportsnet reports.
Analysis: Clement sat out of Friday's and Saturday's contests due to the injury before rejoining the lineup Monday and being scheduled to start Sunday, before that game was postponed. Manager John Schneider said he's "trying to get ahead of [the injury]" and provide the infielder some rest Tuesday since it's an afternoon game coming off a night game. Clement is still expected to be available off the bench while Luis Urias picks up a start at second base.
Hayden Juenger
Hayden Juenger DFA'd by Toronto
Tue, Jun 23, 2026, 12:14 PM
The Blue Jays designated Juenger for assignment Tuesday.
Analysis: The right-hander had his contract selected by Toronto in late May and made his first two MLB appearances before returning to Triple-A Buffalo. Juenger gave up three earned runs over two big-league innings and has a 2.59 ERA, 1.37 WHIP and 28:( K:BB across 24.1 innings at Triple-A this year.
Lazaro Estrada
Lazaro Estrada Sent back to Triple-A
Tue, Jun 23, 2026, 12:02 PM
The Blue Jays optioned Estrada to Triple-A Buffalo on Tuesday.
Analysis: He'll give up his spot on the 26-man active roster to right-hander Shane Bieber (elbow), who was activated from the 60-day injured list to start Tuesday's game against the Astros. Estrada has managed to allow just two runs over 6.1 innings in a couple relief outings for Toronto, though that's come with a 3:4 K:BB. The 27-year-old will likely go back into the rotation at Buffalo.
Shane Bieber
Shane Bieber Activated ahead of season debut
Tue, Jun 23, 2026, 11:59 AM
The Blue Jays activated Bieber (elbow) from the 60-day injured list Tuesday.
Analysis: Bieber is set to make his 2026 debut Tuesday with a start at home against the Astros. The right-hander got a late start to the season as he worked his way back from an elbow issue that had nagged at him since last season. Bieber had an up-and-down showing on his rehab assignment, posting a 6.88 ERA, 1.88 WHIP and 14:5 K:BB across 17 innings. He went five innings in each of his last two rehab starts and reached 80 pitches in his final outing, so Bieber should be ready to handle around 90 pitches versus Houston.
George Springer
George Springer On base three times Monday
Tue, Jun 23, 2026, 10:29 AM
Springer went 2-for-4 with a walk and a run scored in Monday's win over the Astros.
Analysis: Facing the team he won a World Series with in 2017, Springer delivered another strong performance from the leadoff spot, recording his fifth multi-hit effort in the last seven games. Over 16 games in June, the 36-year-old sports a .271/.389/.475 slash line with three homers, three steals, seven RBI and nine runs as he puts a quiet start to the campaign behind him.
Tyler Rogers
Tyler Rogers Collects 17th hold
Tue, Jun 23, 2026, 10:25 AM
Rogers gave up two hits and a walk in a scoreless eighth inning Monday to record his 17th hold of the season in a win over the Astros.
Analysis: The submarining righty allowed a pair of leadoff singles with the Blue Jays clinging to a 3-2 lead, but Rogers neutralized the threat by getting Christian Walker to ground into a double play. The 17 holds ties Rogers for the American League lead with the Guardians' Erik Sabrowski, and his 1.72 ERA through 36.2 innings would be the best mark of his career over a full season, topped only by the 1.02 ERA he produced over 17.2 frames as a rookie with the Giants in 2019.
Kazuma Okamoto
Kazuma Okamoto Slugs 17th homer
Mon, Jun 22, 2026, 10:00 PM
Okamoto went 2-for-3 with a solo home run, a double and a walk in Monday's 4-2 win over the Astros.
Analysis: Okamoto accounted for Toronto's first run of the game when he took Hunter Brown deep to lead off the second inning. He later added a double in the ninth inning. The homer was his 17th of the season and his fourth in the last nine games. The slugger has been very productive lately, hitting .279 with an .863 OPS during the month of June. On the season, Okamoto is slashing .234/.316/.460, though his lofty 32.4 percent strikeout rate continues to cap his offensive profile.
