Justin Foscue
Justin Foscue Finding groove against MLB pitching
Sat, May 23, 2026, 9:20 AM
Foscue started at second base and went 2-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored in Friday's 9-6 loss to the Angels. He was also hit by a pitch.
Analysis: Foscue ran a hit streak to four games, during which he's 9-for-15 with a home run, five RBI and four runs scored. He's looking like a more accomplished hitter in his third exposure at the MLB level. Entering 2026, the infielder was 3-for-51 (.059) in his first two stints against major-league pitching. Foscue's made seven consecutive starts and has benefited from an injury to Corey Seager (back), which forced Ezequiel Duran to slide from second base to cover shortstop.
MacKenzie Gore
MacKenzie Gore Plays catch Friday
Sat, May 23, 2026, 9:09 AM
Gore (lat) played catch Friday and will be re-evaluated this weekend, MLB.com reports.
Analysis: All signs are pointing to Gore being ready for his next turn in the rotation scheduled for Sunday against the Angels. The left-hander, who exited his start Monday, underwent an MRI which came back negative.
Cody Freeman
Cody Freeman Rehab moves to Frisco
Sat, May 23, 2026, 9:02 AM
Freeman (back) moved his rehab from the Arizona Complex League to Double-A Frisco on Friday, MLB.com reports.
Analysis: Freeman started at second base for the RoughRiders on Friday and got three plate appearances over five innings before taking a seat. He's played five total games while rehabbing a fracture in his back.
Brandon Nimmo
Brandon Nimmo Homers, doubles, plates two runs
Sat, May 23, 2026, 7:57 AM
Nimmo went 2-for-5 with a solo home run, a double, an additional RBI and a strikeout in Friday's loss to the Angels.
Analysis: Nimmo launched a solo shot in the fourth inning, giving him six on the year, and he later added an RBI double in the seventh that scored Andrew McCutchen. Nimmo is hitting a solid .277 with a .795 OPS on the season, but he's seeing the ball extremely well of late. He has hits in four of his last five games (7-for-20) while launching two homers and posting a 1.159 OPS over that span.
Corey Seager
Corey Seager Still targeting upcoming homestand
Sat, May 23, 2026, 7:49 AM
Seager (back) did some jogging in the outfield at Angels Stadium on Friday and said afterward that it's "definitely the goal" to return for the team's upcoming homestand, Shawn McFarland of The Dallas Morning News reports. However, Seager added that he needs to see how his back responds to some workouts before he can resume full baseball activities.
Analysis: When Seager landed on the injured list, Rangers president of baseball operations Chris Young said he believed Seager could return May 25 when first eligible, for the start of a seven-game homestand. It sounds like that's still a possibility, though the fact Seager hasn't yet resumed full baseball activities clouds this picture a bit. Seager's production has fallen off a cliff so far in his age-32 season, but his track record as a five-time All-Star and three-time Silver Slugger suggests he'll find his way eventually.
Jacob deGrom
Jacob deGrom Lasts three innings Friday
Sat, May 23, 2026, 7:43 AM
DeGrom (3-4) took the loss Friday against the Angels after allowing six runs on six hits and three walks across three innings. He struck out three.
Analysis: The long balls continue to be an issue for DeGrom, and now he's given up 12 through 10 starts and 53.2 innings in 2026. It's easy to call this outing the worst of the campaign for the veteran hurler, who's also trending in the wrong direction after having allowed four or more runs in three of his last four appearances. With a 6.45 ERA and eight homers allowed over his last four starts, deGrom will aim to bounce back in his next start, which should come next week at home against the Astros.
Brandon Nimmo
Brandon Nimmo In Friday's lineup
Fri, May 22, 2026, 5:24 PM
Nimmo (hamstring) will start in right field and bat third Friday against the Angels.
Analysis: Nimmo made an early exit from Wednesday's game against the Rockies due to hamstring tightness, but after resting during Texas' day off Thursday, he will return to the starting nine without missing a start. The 33-year-old has been relatively cold at the plate recently, slashing .237/.328/.339 with one homer, four RBI and seven runs scored across 67 plate appearances since the beginning of May.
Joe Ross
Joe Ross Inks minors pact with Texas
Fri, May 22, 2026, 11:17 AM
The Rangers signed Ross to a minor-league contract Friday, Jeff Wilson of AllDLLS.com reports.
Analysis: Ross was released from his minor-league deal with the Diamondbacks earlier this week after he'd posted an ugly 19.64 ERA across three MLB games. In 12 games with Triple-A Reno, the veteran right-hander logged a 4.29 ERA, 1.33 WHIP and 12:5 K:BB across 21 innings. Ross will provide organizational depth with Texas.
Promoted to Double-A
Thu, May 21, 2026, 10:10 AM
Curry will be promoted from High-A Hub City to Double-A Frisco on Thursday, Ari Alexander of 7 News Boston reports
Analysis: Curry will make his way up to Double-A Frisco after seven starts with the Rangers' High-A affiliate. The 23-year-old posted a 3.48 ERA and 42 strikeouts in 31 innings during his time in Hub City this year.
Ezequiel Duran
Ezequiel Duran Homers in win
Wed, May 20, 2026, 9:28 PM
Duran went 1-for-5 with a home run and two RBI in Wednesday's 5-4 win over the Rockies.
Analysis: Duran belted a two-run homer in the fourth inning that erased the Rockies' early lead. He had a productive three-game set against Colorado, finishing the series 7-for-14 with three extra-base hits and eight RBI. For the season, the right-handed hitting Duran is slashing .295/.352/.488 with four home runs and 23 RBI over 41 games. He'll continue to fill in at shortstop with Corey Seager (back) on the 10-day injured list.
Jake Burger
Jake Burger Homer in win
Wed, May 20, 2026, 9:25 PM
Burger went 2-for-5 with a home run and an RBI in Wednesday's 5-4 win over the Rockies.
Analysis: Burger is continuing his productive season so far with the Rangers as he tallied a team-leading ninth home run and 33rd RBI. The righty is batting .296 with 14 RBIs in May while anchoring first base.
Josh Jung
Josh Jung Supplies game-winning knock
Wed, May 20, 2026, 9:20 PM
Jung went 3-for-4 with a walk, an RBI and a run scored in Wednesday's 5-4 win over Colorado.
Analysis: Jung completed the Rangers' comeback in the top of the ninth inning, singling in the go-ahead run. It was his first RBI in 10 games and just the second over the last 17. Jung, who entered May on a tear, has slumped the last couple of weeks and entered Wednesday with a .212 average over the previous 13 contests.
Jack Leiter
Jack Leiter Escapes with no decision
Wed, May 20, 2026, 9:03 PM
Leiter pitched five innings Wednesday giving up four runs off seven hits and two walks in the 5-4 win over the Rockies. He struck out five.
Analysis: Leiter is still looking at his second win of the season after his fifth start allowing more than three runs. The 26-year-old gave up the lead in the fifth after conceding three hits that inning. The first-round pick gave up his second-most hits in a game this season with seven, so there was constant pressure on the base paths the entire game for the young starter still trying to gain his footing in the big leagues. Next time on the mound, Leiter is scheduled to face Kansas City at home this weekend.
Brandon Nimmo
Brandon Nimmo Leaves game with hamstring injury
Wed, May 20, 2026, 3:44 PM
Nimmo was removed from Wednesday's game in Colorado in the fifth inning with right hamstring tightness, Kennedi Landry of MLB.com reports.
Analysis: Nimmo singled with two outs before being removed for a pinch runner following a brief discussion with manager Skip Schumaker and the Rangers' trainer. It's an aggravation of a hamstring issue that Nimmo has been dealing with off and on since late April. The Rangers could have more on his condition after the game.
MacKenzie Gore
MacKenzie Gore On track to make next start
Wed, May 20, 2026, 1:13 PM
An MRI on Gore's left lat came back negative, and he is on track to make his next scheduled start Sunday versus the Angels, Shawn McFarland of The Dallas Morning News reports.
Analysis: Gore was removed from his start Monday against the Rockies after his lat tightened up on him, but he has managed to avoid a major injury and is trending toward not missing a turn in the rotation. The left-hander has had an up-and-down first 10 starts for the Rangers, collecting a 4.78 ERA, 1.33 WHIP and 55:24 K:BB over 49 innings.
Luis Curvelo
Luis Curvelo Activated, optioned to Triple-A
Wed, May 20, 2026, 12:15 PM
The Rangers activated Curvelo (shoulder) from the 15-day injured list Wednesday and optioned him to Triple-A Round Rock.
Analysis: Curvelo has been shelved since mid-April with a right shoulder impingement, but he recently made a couple scoreless rehab appearances with Round Rock despite three walks. Rather than add him back to the major-league bullpen, the Rangers have elected to keep Curvelo in the minors for the time being.
Danny Jansen
Danny Jansen Resting for day game
Wed, May 20, 2026, 12:07 PM
Jansen is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Rockies.
Analysis: Jansen will receive a breather for the day game after he caught all nine innings of Tuesday night's 10-0 win and went 1-for-5 with a double and a run. Kyle Higashioka will get the nod behind the dish in the series finale in Colorado.
Alejandro Osuna
Alejandro Osuna Taking seat against southpaw
Wed, May 20, 2026, 12:05 PM
Osuna is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Rockies.
Analysis: The left-handed-hitting Osuna will hit the bench for the second time in the series while the Rockies send another southpaw starter (Kyle Freeland) to the bump. Sam Haggerty will receive the nod in left field, but Osuna will likely draw most of the starts at the position against right-handed pitching until the Rangers get Wyatt Langford (forearm) back from the injured list.
Evan Carter
Evan Carter Taking seat against southpaw
Wed, May 20, 2026, 12:03 PM
Carter is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Rockies.
Analysis: Though he drew the start in center field during Tuesday's 10-0 win while left-hander Sammy Peralta opened the game for the Rockies, the left-handed-hitting Carter batted out of the No. 9 spot in the lineup. Carter will be left out of the starting nine for the series finale while the Rangers go up against a more traditional lefty starter in Kyle Freeland.
Wyatt Langford
Wyatt Langford Could begin swinging bat Friday
Wed, May 20, 2026, 7:59 AM
Langford will undergo another strength test on his right forearm Wednesday and could begin swinging a bat by Friday, MLB.com reports.
Analysis: This continues a string of good news for Langford, who has been out since April 21 and suffered a setback in an extended spring game. The grip test the outfielder must complete uses the baseline measure he posted during spring training as a threshold, per Shawn McFarland of the Dallas Morning News. If Langford's strength is at least 80 percent of what it was in camp, the Rangers will consider it a success and put a bat in his hands to begin a full ramp-up.
