Marco Gonzales
Marco Gonzales Gets MiLB pact from Rangers
Mon, Jun 22, 2026, 4:11 PM
The Rangers signed Gonzales to a minor-league contract Monday, mmm reports.
Analysis: Gonzales was released by the Padres last week after posting a 7.99 ERA, 2.03 WHIP and 36:18 K:BB over 47.1 innings at Triple-A El Paso. He missed the entirety of the 2025 campaign following flexor tendon surgery. The 34-year-old Gonzales will give the Rangers some experienced rotation depth, presumably at Triple-A Round Rock.
Corey Seager
Corey Seager Set for live BP on Tuesday
Mon, Jun 22, 2026, 3:53 PM
Manager Skip Schumaker said that Seager (concussion) is scheduled to take live batting practice before the Rangers evaluate him for a return from the 7-day injured list, Evan Grant of The Dallas Morning News reports.
Analysis: Seager is still dealing with mild concussion symptoms stemming from an on-field collision June 11 in Kansas City, but he's resumed running and fielding and will take another positive forward in his recovery when he resumes facing live pitching. He'll be reassessed following Tuesday's workout, and if his concussion symptoms have dissipated by then, Seager could bypass a rehab assignment and return from the 7-day injured list later in the week. Once Seager is deemed ready to handle an everyday role at shortstop, Ezequiel Duran will likely slide over to second base and displace Nicky Lopez as the primary option at that position.
Kyle Higashioka
Kyle Higashioka Not in Monday's lineup
Mon, Jun 22, 2026, 2:07 PM
Higashioka is absent from the lineup for Monday's game in Miami.
Analysis: Higashioka will get a breather after starting at catcher the previous two days. Elias Diaz will be behind the dish and bat eighth for the Rangers in the series opener.
Nicky Lopez
Nicky Lopez Scores twice in win
Mon, Jun 22, 2026, 10:15 AM
Lopez went 2-for-2 with two runs scored in Sunday's 4-3 win over San Diego.
Analysis: Lopez singled and scored runs in the third and fourth innings. He made a third consecutive start at second base and hit safely in his last four appearances. Lopez is slashing .333/.367/.404 with one home run, five RBI, two steals in six runs scored over 20 games since singing with Texas as a free agent late in May. With Josh Smith having been optioned, second base is wide open for the left-handed hitting Lopez.
Wyatt Langford
Wyatt Langford Dialed in
Mon, Jun 22, 2026, 10:09 AM
Langford went 2-for-4 with a home run and three RBI in Sunday's 4-3 win over the Padres.
Analysis: Langford played a role in all four runs. His three-run homer in the bottom of third inning gave Texas an early lead. An inning later, after San Diego tied the game, Langford's single put a runner in scoring position for Josh Jung to knock in the game-winning run. Langford is locked in at the dish, having posted four consecutive multi-hit efforts and gone 16-for-37 (.432) with three doubles, four home runs and 11 RBI over the last nine contests.
Tyler Alexander
Tyler Alexander Working as opener Monday
Mon, Jun 22, 2026, 10:06 AM
Alexander will serve as the Rangers' opening pitcher Monday in Miami, Kennedi Landry of MLB.com reports.
Analysis: The left-handed Alexander will cover the first inning or two versus the Marlins before turning the ball over to Kumar Rocker, who is slated to handle the bulk of the workload for Texas. Alexander has delivered a 2.97 ERA and 23:10 K:BB over 30.1 frames for the Rangers this season.
Kumar Rocker
Kumar Rocker Will follow opener Monday
Mon, Jun 22, 2026, 10:02 AM
Rocker will serve in a bulk-relief role for the Rangers during Monday's game against the Marlins, Kennedi Landry of MLB.com reports.
Analysis: Rocker's best outing this season came as a bulk reliever May 19 in Colorado, when he struck out seven over 7.2 shutout innings. Tyler Alexander was the opener in that contest, and the Rangers will work with the same setup Monday as Alexander takes the ball first in the series lid-lifter.
Danny Jansen
Danny Jansen Resumes throwing Saturday
Mon, Jun 22, 2026, 8:15 AM
Jansen (forearm) was able to throw out to 60 feet Saturday, Shawn McFarland of The Dallas Morning News reports.
Analysis: Saturday marked the first time that Jansen was able to do any throwing since landing on the 10-day injured list June 6 due to a right forearm strain. Jansen had already been hitting and catching bullpen sessions, so working his way through a throwing progression will be his main objective before the Rangers send him out on a rehab assignment. Kyle Higashioka has been serving as the Rangers' primary backstop while Jansen has been on the shelf.
Jordan Montgomery
Jordan Montgomery Scoreless frame in rehab start
Sun, Jun 21, 2026, 8:06 PM
Montgomery (elbow) allowed one hit and struck out a batter over a scoreless inning in a rehab start for Double-A Frisco on Sunday.
Analysis: Since Montgomery was pitching for the first time at any level since undergoing a hybrid UCL reconstruction last March, the Rangers had scheduled him for just one inning to kick off his rehab assignment. He was able to pass his first test without much drama, allowing a double but getting out of the inning in 13 pitches (10 strikes). Montgomery is expected to gradually increase his pitch counts over multiple rehab starts during the course of his 30-day rehab window, and his performance during his time in the minors will likely dictate whether he claims a spot in the Texas rotation or works in long relief upon his return from the 60-day injured list.
Jakob Junis
Jakob Junis Hangs on for fifth save
Sun, Jun 21, 2026, 6:02 PM
Junis secured the save Sunday against the Padres, allowing no runs on two hits and no walks in the ninth inning. He struck out one.
Analysis: Junis allowed the possible tying and go-ahead runs to get aboard, but he still held on for the save Sunday. The 33-year-old journeyman reliever has emerged as an effective high-leverage arm in 2026, though he's now given up multiple hits in three consecutive outings. Through 32 innings, Junis has a 1.97 ERA, 0.91 WHIP and 23:5 K:BB while converting five of his six save opportunities.
Nathan Eovaldi
Nathan Eovaldi Fans season-high nine in win
Sun, Jun 21, 2026, 5:47 PM
Eovaldi (7-7) earned the win Sunday against San Diego, allowing three runs on seven hits and one walk in six innings. He struck out nine.
Analysis: After being scratched from his scheduled start Saturday due to left knee soreness, Eovaldi looked no worse for wear Sunday while logging his eighth quality start of the year and keeping the ball in the park as well. The 36-year-old right-hander recorded a season high in punchouts, also generating an impressive 16 whiffs on the afternoon. Eovaldi still has a lackluster 4.24 ERA, but his 1.18 WHIP and 92:22 K:BB over 93.1 frames are much more encouraging figures.
Jordan Montgomery
Jordan Montgomery Starting rehab assignment
Sun, Jun 21, 2026, 2:57 PM
Montgomery (elbow) will begin a rehab assignment Sunday with Double-A Frisco.
Analysis: The left-hander has been working his way back from the hybrid UCL reconstruction surgery he underwent on his elbow in March 2025, and he's now entering the final stage of his rehab program. Montgomery will require a handful of rehab starts in the minor leagues before gaining full clearance, lining him up to potentially join the Rangers in late July or early August.
Corey Seager
Corey Seager Continuing to ramp back up
Sun, Jun 21, 2026, 1:24 PM
Seager (concussion) took part in defensive drills on the field prior to Sunday's game against the Padres, Shawn McFarland of The Dallas Morning News reports.
Analysis: Though he remains on the 7-day injured list, Seager's ability to take part in a pregame workout suggests he's progressing in his recovery from a mild concussion. Seager is slated to travel with the Rangers during their upcoming 10-game road swing, but it's unclear if he'll be able to clear the protocol and make his return from the IL at any point during that trip.
Nicky Lopez
Nicky Lopez Claiming third straight start
Sun, Jun 21, 2026, 1:21 PM
Lopez will start at second base and bat ninth in Sunday's game against the Padres.
Analysis: Lopez will remain in the starting nine for a third straight game after he went 2-for-7 over the first two contests of the series. The 31-year-old journeyman could be in store for a regular role until Texas gets Corey Seager (concussion) back from the 7-day injured list.
Jose Corniell
Jose Corniell Called up Sunday
Sun, Jun 21, 2026, 12:49 PM
The Rangers recalled Corniell from Triple-A Round Rock on Sunday.
Analysis: The right-hander will get a look with the Rangers for the first time this season after struggling to a 6.08 ERA, 1.72 WHIP and 19:10 K:BB across 26.2 innings with Round Rock. Corniell has primarily worked as a starter at Triple-A, but it's not yet clear if he's seen as a candidate to replace Jack Leiter (ankle) in the rotation.
Jack Leiter
Jack Leiter Hits IL with ankle issue
Sun, Jun 21, 2026, 11:45 AM
The Rangers placed Leiter on the 15-day injured list Sunday due to a right ankle posterior impingement.
Analysis: While Leiter hasn't been forced to miss any turns through the rotation as a result of the ankle injury, he's been pitching through the issue for most of the season, and his conditioned worsened when he slipped on the field during an April 22 start, per Shawn McFarland of The Dallas Morning News. Pitching through the ankle concern could be a factor in why the 26-year-old righty hasn't taken the step forward this season that both the Rangers and fantasy managers were counting on, as he's turned in a 5.29 ERA and 1.44 WHIP in 80 innings over his first 15 starts. Texas recalled Jose Corniell from Triple-A Round Rock to take over Leiter's spot on the 26-man active roster, but it's not immediately clear who will replace Leiter in the rotation.
Jake Burger
Jake Burger Homers in loss
Sun, Jun 21, 2026, 10:16 AM
Burger went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run in Saturday's 6-4 extra-inning loss to the Padres. He was also hit by a pitch.
Analysis: Burger gave the Rangers a 3-1 lead in the seventh inning with his 13th of the season. That extended a seven-game hit streak for the first baseman, who is a modest 7-for-26 (.269) during that stretch with four extra-base hits, including two HR, and five RBI. He got hit on the right hand in the ninth and was in obvious pain, according to Matt Postins of SI.com, but Burger was cleared by team trainers and finished the contest at first base.
Jarred Kelenic
Jarred Kelenic Makes first start for Texas
Sun, Jun 21, 2026, 10:05 AM
Kelenic started in left field and went 1-for-3 with a run scored in Saturday's 6-4 extra-inning loss to San Diego.
Analysis: Kelenic started his first game for the Rangers, who selected his contract from Triple-A Round Rock on Friday. With two everyday spots in the outfield locked down (Wyatt Langford and Brandon Nimmo), Kelenic joins a group that includes Alejandro Osuna and Cody Freeman vying for the at-bats that had previously belonged to Evan Carter (oblique). Kelenic, who signed with the organization earlier this month, slashed .340/.431/.620 with three home runs, 11 RBI, three steals and 12 runs over 59 plate appearances at Round Rock before getting back to the majors.
MacKenzie Gore
MacKenzie Gore Six strong innings in no-decision
Sat, Jun 20, 2026, 9:29 PM
Gore took a no-decision Saturday against San Diego, allowing one run on five hits and two walks in six innings. He struck out six.
Analysis: Control has been a common issue for Gore in 2026, but he managed to submit his sixth start of the year with at least six frames Saturday. The 27-year-old southpaw has issued multiple free passes in four straight appearances and 12 of his 16 outings so far, but he's given up more than three runs on only four occasions. Gore will carry a middling 4.07 ERA, 1.30 WHIP and 92:37 K:BB over 84 innings into his next scheduled start in Toronto.
Nathan Eovaldi
Nathan Eovaldi Expected to start Sunday
Sat, Jun 20, 2026, 6:59 PM
Eovaldi (knee) will start Sunday's series finale against the Padres, Kennedi Landry of MLB.com reports.
Analysis: The Rangers scratched Eovaldi from his scheduled start Saturday due to left knee soreness, but the level of concern within the organization is evidently low since the veteran will end up being pushed back by just one day. Eovaldi has dropped three of his last four decisions, posting a 5.23 ERA and 1.19 WHIP over his last five starts.
