Tyler Alexander
Tyler Alexander Grabs another save Sunday
Sun, Jun 28, 2026, 3:44 PM
Alexander earned the save in Sunday's 3-2 win over the Blue Jays, striking out one in a perfect ninth inning.
Analysis: Alexander has now recorded saves in back-to-back games after going nearly three months without a save opportunity. The left-hander has allowed just one run in his last nine appearances (9.1 innings) to lower his ERA to 2.62 with a 1.31 WHIP and 27:10 K:BB across 34.1 innings this season.
Kumar Rocker
Kumar Rocker Six scoreless in no-decision
Sun, Jun 28, 2026, 3:38 PM
Rocker did not factor into the decision Sunday against the Blue Jays, allowing four hits and a walk across six scoreless innings. He struck out five.
Analysis: Rocker was excellent against Toronto, recording his fourth quality start of the year and just his second in his last seven outings. Rocker, who pitched as a traditional starter Sunday after working behind an opener in his last appearances against the Twins, now sports a 3.83 ERA with a 1.34 WHIP and 70:31 K:BB across 80 innings this season. He's tentatively lined up for a home matchup with the Tigers his next time out.
Nicky Lopez
Nicky Lopez Bound for bench Sunday
Sun, Jun 28, 2026, 12:17 PM
Lopez is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Blue Jays.
Analysis: Ezequiel Duran will get the nod at second base in the series finale in Toronto, ending Lopez's streak of nine consecutive starts at the keystone. The Rangers were without Corey Seager for all but two of those contests, but now that Seager has recovered from a concussion, Duran could be prioritized at second base ahead of Lopez. Since signing a one-year deal with Texas in late May, Lopez has earned himself more playing time than anticipated by producing a .325/.358/.377 slash line with one home run, three steals, seven runs and six RBI over 26 games.
Kyle Higashioka
Kyle Higashioka Sitting in second straight game
Sun, Jun 28, 2026, 12:12 PM
Higashioka is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Blue Jays.
Analysis: The Rangers will keep Higashioka on the bench for a second straight game while Elias Diaz is rewarded with another start behind the plate after driving in two runs during Saturday's 7-4 win. Higashioka should still be well positioned to see the larger share of the starts at catcher for Texas while Danny Jansen (forearm) is on the shelf.
Chris Martin
Chris Martin Ready for rehab assignment
Sun, Jun 28, 2026, 12:10 PM
Martin (shoulder) was sent to Double-A Frisco on Sunday to begin a rehab assignment.
Analysis: Martin landed on the 15-day injured list June 1 due to a right shoulder impingement but has made enough headway in his throwing progression to report to an affiliate for a rehab assignment. The right-hander may need more than one appearance in the minors to knock off rust and iron out his command and control, but he shouldn't be in line for an extended stay on the farm before slotting back into the Texas bullpen. Martin is on the shelf for the second time this season, after right biceps soreness previously kept him out for about a month.
Wyatt Langford
Wyatt Langford Out through All-Star break
Sun, Jun 28, 2026, 11:34 AM
Rangers manager Skip Schumaker said Sunday that Langford (hamstring) will remain on the 10-day injured list through the All-Star break, Kennedi Landry of MLB.com reports.
Analysis: Langford will be eligible to come off the IL on July 7, but rather than rushing him back on the field for the final week of the first half, the Rangers will keep him out through the break to provide more time for his strained let hamstring to heal. Evan Carter was reinstated from the 10-day IL on Sunday in a corresponding move and will settle back in as the Rangers' primary center fielder, while Langford's absence should give Alejandro Osuna a longer leash as the team's main option in left field.
Wyatt Langford
Wyatt Langford Heads to IL with hamstring strain
Sun, Jun 28, 2026, 10:24 AM
The Rangers placed Langford on the 10-day injured list Sunday due to a left hamstring strain.
Analysis: Langford will hit the shelf for the second time this season, after a forearm strain had previously kept him out for about six weeks earlier in the campaign. He'll be eligible to return from the IL on July 7, but unless the hamstring strain is deemed to be mild, the Rangers could be inclined to hold him out through the All-Star break. Texas activated Evan Carter (oblique) from the 10-day IL in a corresponding move, and he should step in as the primary replacement in center field for Langford.
Evan Carter
Evan Carter Back from injured list
Sun, Jun 28, 2026, 10:24 AM
The Rangers reinstated Carter (oblique) from the 10-day injured list. He'll start in center field and bat seventh Sunday against the Blue Jays.
Analysis: The 23-year-old landed on the shelf June 13 due to the oblique injury, but he's ready to rejoin the Rangers after going 2-for-2 with a walk and a home run during his lone rehab appearance with Double-A Frisco. Carter is replacing Wyatt Langford (hamstring) on the active roster.
Alejandro Osuna
Alejandro Osuna Late addition to lineup
Sun, Jun 28, 2026, 9:24 AM
Osuna started in center field and went 2-for-4 with a walk, two RBI and a run scored in Saturday's 7-4 win over the Blue Jays.
Analysis: Osuna was originally scheduled for bench duty but was needed when the Rangers scratched Wyatt Langford (hamstring) just before the first pitch. Osuna has been a regular in left field since Evan Carter (oblique) was added to the injured list and could also cover center if Langford's injury lingers. Since returning for a second stint in the majors June 14, Osuna is slashing .275/.326/.325 with five RBI and five runs scored over 12 games.
Corey Seager
Corey Seager Homers in win
Sun, Jun 28, 2026, 9:16 AM
Seager went 1-for-4 with a walk, a solo home run and an additional run scored in Saturday's 7-4 win over Toronto.
Analysis: Seager, who returned from a stay on the injured list Thursday, returned to the starting lineup after getting a day off Friday. His sixth-inning home run was Seager's 10th of the season.
Kumar Rocker
Kumar Rocker Working as traditional starter Sunday
Sat, Jun 27, 2026, 8:01 PM
Rocker will start Sunday's game against Toronto rather than follow an opener, Shawn McFarland of The Dallas Morning News reports.
Analysis: Rocker worked behind an opener in his most recent appearance and pitched well, allowing two runs over five innings while striking out nine. Despite that success, the Rangers will go back to deploying Rocker as a traditional starter Sunday. Over 13 starts this season, Rocker has posted a 4.70 ERA, 1.48 WHIP and 49:27 K:BB across 61.1 frames.
Jake Burger
Jake Burger Three hits in Saturday's win
Sat, Jun 27, 2026, 7:02 PM
Burger went 3-for-5 with a run scored, two RBI and a stolen base in Saturday's 7-4 win over the Blue Jays.
Analysis: All three hits were singles, but it was still a productive afternoon for the first baseman. The multi-hit performance was Burger's third in his last six games, and over his last 18 contests he's batting a sizzling .377 (23-for-61) with three doubles, four homers, eight runs and 13 RBI. Saturday's steal was only his second of the year, but that's good enough to establish a new career high for Burger.
Tyler Alexander
Tyler Alexander Picks up third save
Sat, Jun 27, 2026, 6:59 PM
Alexander worked a perfect ninth inning Saturday to record his third save of the season in a 7-4 win over the Blue Jays. He didn't strike out a batter.
Analysis: The 31-year-old southpaw hadn't picked up a save since March 30, but with Jacob Latz and Jakob Junis each having worked the prior two days, Alexander found himself handling closing duties again and got the job done. He's been scored upon in just one of eight appearances in June, posting a 1.08 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and 6:2 K:BB over 8.2 innings this month, but his high-leverage work has been limited and he has zero wins and only one hold during that time, in addition to Saturday's save.
Cal Quantrill
Cal Quantrill Steps up on home soil
Sat, Jun 27, 2026, 6:54 PM
Quantrill didn't factor into the decision in Saturday's 7-4 win over the Blue Jays, scattering two hits and a walk over four scoreless innings. He struck out five.
Analysis: Making just his second career start in Toronto, the Canadian right-hander blanked the Jays over 55 pitches (36 strikes) but wasn't stretched out enough to qualify for the win and take advantage of a five-run fifth inning by the Rangers. Quantrill is making a case to remain in the rotation while Jack Leiter (ankle) is on the shelf, and he'll take a 3.31 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and 25:11 K:BB through 35.1 innings and 17 appearances (two starts) into his next outing, which is set to come at home next week against the Tigers.
Wyatt Langford
Wyatt Langford Late scratch Saturday
Sat, Jun 27, 2026, 2:07 PM
Langford was scratched from the lineup for Saturday's game against Toronto with left hamstring tightness, Kennedi Landry of MLB.com reports.
Analysis: Langford has slashed .405/.457/.833 while logging a base hit in nine of the Rangers' last 10 games, but a hamstring issue will prevent him from continuing his hot streak Saturday. The severity of his injury is still unclear, but the team will likely provide more information in the near future.
Alejandro Osuna
Alejandro Osuna Sitting Saturday
Sat, Jun 27, 2026, 1:14 PM
Osuna isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Blue Jays.
Analysis: Osuna will pick up a day off Saturday after going 5-for-20 while starting each of Texas' last six games. While he rests, Jarred Kelenic, Wyatt Langford and Brandon Nimmo will start across the outfield.
Ezequiel Duran
Ezequiel Duran Resting up Saturday
Sat, Jun 27, 2026, 1:10 PM
Duran isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Blue Jays.
Analysis: Duran will grab a seat on the bench after going 2-for-4 with an RBI and a steal during Friday's win. His absence will allow Nicky Lopez to pick up another start at second base.
Kyle Higashioka
Kyle Higashioka Idle Saturday
Sat, Jun 27, 2026, 1:07 PM
Higashioka isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against Toronto.
Analysis: Higashioka will get a breather after going 2-for-6 with a pair of walks through the first two games of the series. Elias Diaz will handle catching duties and bat eighth.
Cal Quantrill
Cal Quantrill Drawing start Saturday
Sat, Jun 27, 2026, 10:06 AM
Quantrill is slated to start Saturday's game against the Blue Jays in Toronto.
Analysis: Quantrill will be making his second start in five days, though he'll likely be limited to around 2-to-3 innings after covering two frames and tossing 34 pitches as an opener in front of Jose Corniell in Tuesday's loss to the Marlins. Corniell has since been demoted to Triple-A Round Rock, but Winston Santos hasn't been used following his call-up from Double-A Frisco on Wednesday and could end up covering multiple innings behind Quantrill on Saturday.
Jacob Latz
Jacob Latz Collects save No. 16
Sat, Jun 27, 2026, 9:31 AM
Latz walked one batter in a scoreless ninth inning to secure the save in Friday's 5-4 win over the Blue Jays.
Analysis: Latz walked Brandon Valenzuela to lead off the ninth but was able to regain his composure and force the next three batters he faced to fly out, ending the Blue Jays' comeback effort. Latz now owns a sparkling 1.85 ERA and 0.67 WHIP through 39 innings on the year and has converted 16 of his 18 save chances.
