Josh Jung
Josh Jung Blast eighth home run Sunday
Sun, Jun 7, 2026, 9:52 PM
Jung went 2-for-4 with a home run, a walk, and three runs scored in Sunday's 10-0 win against Cleveland.
Analysis: Jung mashed his eighth homer of the season off Joey Cantillo in the third inning as part of a four-run frame that helped put the game out of reach early. Following Sunday's performance, the third baseman has recorded a hit in 15 of his last 17 games. During that stretch, he's batting .338 with three homers and three doubles. Jung is now slashing .313/.368/.487 with 16 doubles, 29 RBI and 31 runs scored across 253 trips to the plate this year.
Jacob deGrom
Jacob deGrom Blanks Guardians across six innings
Sun, Jun 7, 2026, 9:15 PM
DeGrom (5-4) earned the win Sunday against Cleveland, allowing three hits across six scoreless innings while striking out six and walking two in Texas' 10-0 shutout victory.
Analysis: Working off just 87 pitches, deGrom was dominant from start to finish, retiring the last four batters he faced via strikeout and keeping the Guardians completely off balance all afternoon. The performance was especially noteworthy considering the home run issues that plagued him earlier in the season, as he served up 13 long balls through his first 11 starts. He has now kept the ball in the yard in consecutive outings. DeGrom is now 3-1 with a 1.28 ERA in his six home starts, with 43 strikeouts across 35.2 innings, making the home/road split a possible consideration when setting lineups. His season line sits at a 3.18 ERA and 0.99 WHIP and while a road matchup against Boston awaits next, the right-hander should benefit from facing a Red Sox lineup that ranks dead last in MLB in home runs.
Luis Curvelo
Luis Curvelo Optioned to Triple-A
Sun, Jun 7, 2026, 5:38 PM
Curvelo was optioned to Triple-A Round Rock after Sunday's 10-0 win over Cleveland.
Analysis: Curvelo will head back to the Triple-A level after being called up June 1. The 25-year-old appeared in three contests with the big-league club following his promotion, combining to give up two runs (one earned) on four hits while striking out one batter over 2.1 innings. Curvelo will now wait for his next chance to join the big-league club down the road this year.
Justin Foscue
Justin Foscue Contributes early in win
Sun, Jun 7, 2026, 5:05 PM
Foscue started at second base and went 1-for-4 with a walk, a home run, two RBI and an additional run scored in Sunday's 10-0 win over Cleveland.
Analysis: Foscue got the rout started early with a two-run home run in the first inning. This was just his second start in the last eight games, both when the Rangers faced a left-hander. The semi-regular role he had second base went away when the Rangers added free agent Nicky Lopez. And now, with Corey Seager back from the injured list, Ezequiel Duran will be the primary starter at the keystone.
Wyatt Langford
Wyatt Langford Pops homer in win
Sun, Jun 7, 2026, 4:55 PM
Langford went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Sunday's 10-0 win over the Guardians.
Analysis: Langford launched just his second home run of the season in the fourth inning. Of course, he has a good excuse for the low HR output; Langford missed a little more than six weeks with a forearm injury and was recently activated from the IL on Friday. He batted leadoff for the second time in three games off the IL, both coming against left-handers.
Kyle Higashioka
Kyle Higashioka Idle Sunday
Sun, Jun 7, 2026, 11:02 AM
Higashioka is not in the Rangers' starting lineup against the Guardians on Sunday.
Analysis: Higashioka will get a breather after starting the last four games. Elias Diaz will get the nod at catcher and bat ninth in Sunday's series finale.
Corey Seager
Corey Seager Not in Sunday's lineup
Sun, Jun 7, 2026, 11:01 AM
Seager is not in the Rangers' starting lineup against the Guardians on Sunday.
Analysis: Seager will get a breather after going 2-for-8 with a two-run home run in two games since being activated from the 10-day injured list Thursday. Ezequiel Duran will start at shortstop while Justin Foscue mans second base.
Kyle Higashioka
Kyle Higashioka In line for increased playing time
Sun, Jun 7, 2026, 10:10 AM
Higashioka went 1-for-3 in Saturday's 6-0 loss to the Guardians.
Analysis: Higashioka made a fourth consecutive start behind the plate and figures to continue seeing an uptick in playing time after the Rangers placed Danny Jansen (forearm) on the 10-day injury list. Jansen leads the Rangers with 36 starts behind the plate, but Higashioka (.245) has hit for a better batting average than Jansen (.171).
Luis Curvelo
Luis Curvelo Leaves with thigh injury Saturday
Sat, Jun 6, 2026, 9:49 PM
Manager Skip Schumaker said Curvelo exited Saturday's game against the Guardians with a left thigh injury, Matt Postins of SI.com reports.
Analysis: Curvelo was struck on the inner thigh above the knee by a comebacker off the bat of Patrick Bailey in the top of the eighth inning and was immediately removed from the game after he fell to the ground following a bad throw to first base on the play. "He wasn't feeling really good," Schumaker said. It's unclear if Curvelo will need a stint on the injured list.
Josh Smith
Josh Smith Begins rehab assignment
Sat, Jun 6, 2026, 4:04 PM
Smith (glute/wrist/illness) began a rehab assignment at Double-A Frisco on Saturday.
Analysis: Smith has battled a glute injury, wrist inflammation and viral meningitis since landing on the injured list in early May, but he is now finally ready to begin playing in minor-league games. It's unknown how long the Rangers plan to keep the 28-year-old out on assignment, but he'll likely require a handful of rehab games after sitting out a month-plus.
Danny Jansen
Danny Jansen Lands on IL
Sat, Jun 6, 2026, 3:59 PM
The Rangers placed Jansen on the 10-day injured list Saturday, retroactive to Wednesday, with a right forearm strain.
Analysis: Jansen's strained forearm helps to explain why he hasn't played since Tuesday. Kyle Higashioka will fill in as Texas' primary catcher while Jansen takes at least another week off to recover, and new signee Elias Diaz will serve as the backup.
Kyle Higashioka
Kyle Higashioka Hits in four straight
Sat, Jun 6, 2026, 11:00 AM
Higashioka went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Friday's 3-2 win over Cleveland.
Analysis: Higashioka ignited Texas' three-run sixth inning with a leadoff homer, his fourth of the season. The blast also extended a hit streak to four games, during which he's 7-for-13 with three extra-base hits, two RBI and five runs scored. He's appeared in 32 games and is essentially sharing catching duties with Danny Jansen (41 games), but Higashioka has been the better hitter. He's has a .712 OPS compared to Jansen's .586 OPS.
Wyatt Langford
Wyatt Langford Bats leadoff in return
Sat, Jun 6, 2026, 10:54 AM
Langford batted leadoff and went 1-for-4 with a double and a run scored in Friday's 3-2 win over the Guardians.
Analysis: Langford was activated from the injured list and slotted in at leadoff for the first time this season. He doubled and scored as part of the Rangers' three-run sixth inning, which also featured a home run from the returning Corey Seager, who batted behind Langford in the two hole against lefty starter Parker Messick. Langford had been out since April 21 with a flexor strain in his right forearm. There was a setback early in his rehab that extended his stay on the IL.
Peyton Gray
Peyton Gray Earns win in relief
Sat, Jun 6, 2026, 8:15 AM
Gray (2-0) earned the win in relief Friday against the Guardians, tossing 1.2 perfect innings while striking out two.
Analysis: Gray entered the game in the sixth inning and did not allow a single hitter to reach base. Gray seems to be turning things around of late, as he's given up just one earned run over his last four outings while posting a 7:0 K:BB in 4.1 innings in that stretch. That represents a huge bounce-back after he gave up nine runs (five earned) over a two-game stretch against the Astros and Rockies between May 18 and May 25.
Kumar Rocker
Kumar Rocker Goes five innings in no-decision
Sat, Jun 6, 2026, 8:11 AM
Rocker didn't factor into the decision Friday against the Guardians. He allowed two runs on six hits and a walk while striking out five across five innings.
Analysis: Rocker gave up a solo homer to Travis Bazzana in the top of the first inning and an RBI single to Austin Hedges in the fourth, but that would be all the damage he allowed. The 26-year-old right-hander has given up two earned runs or fewer in four of his last five starts, going 1-1 with a 1.88 ERA and 1.12 WHIP across 28.2 innings in that stretch. He'll aim to continue that strong run in his next start, scheduled to come on the road against the Royals. Rocker recently faced Kansas City, tossing six scoreless innings at home May 30.
Corey Seager
Corey Seager Swats two-run homer in return
Sat, Jun 6, 2026, 8:08 AM
Seager went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Friday's win over the Guardians.
Analysis: The Rangers activated Seager from the 10-day injured list after a back injury put him on the shelf in mid-May, and he made his presence felt in his return by launching a two-run homer in the bottom of the sixth inning that represented the game-winning hit. Seager has eight homers on the season, and there's no question that his return will give the Rangers' lineup a much-needed boost.
Jacob Latz
Jacob Latz Notches two-inning save
Sat, Jun 6, 2026, 7:23 AM
Latz notched his ninth save of the season in Friday's win over the Guardians. He tossed two scoreless innings, allowing one hit and one walk while striking out three.
Analysis: Latz entered the game in the eighth inning and recorded the final six outs while throwing 21 of his 35 pitches for strikes. He has a tight grip on the closer role and has recorded a save in each of his last four trips to the mound, a span in which he's posted an 8:1 K:BB across 5.1 innings. On the season, Latz has gone 9-for-11 in save chances.
Danny Jansen
Danny Jansen Sitting Friday
Fri, Jun 5, 2026, 4:51 PM
Jansen is not in the Rangers' starting lineup against the Guardians on Friday.
Analysis: Jansen will be on the bench for the start of Friday's contest while Kyle Higashioka starts behind home plate and bats eighth while catching pitches from Kumar Rocker. Jansen has gone 7-for-56 (.125) with one steal, two home runs and five RBI since May 1.
Evan Carter
Evan Carter Not in Friday's lineup
Fri, Jun 5, 2026, 4:49 PM
Carter is not in the Rangers' starting lineup against the Guardians on Friday.
Analysis: Carter will take a seat for Friday's series opener after going 1-for-9 with two runs and five strikeouts in his three outings since returning from a two-game absence due to a left foot injury. Wyatt Langford, Michael Helman and Brandon Nimmo will start in the outfield from left to right.
Cole Winn
Cole Winn Beginning rehab assignment
Fri, Jun 5, 2026, 3:22 PM
Winn (arm) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Round Rock on Friday.
Analysis: Winn hasn't pitched since May 23 due to arm fatigue, but he appears ready to see game action. The right-hander has pitched to a 5.59 ERA, 1.50 WHIP and 23:7 K:BB across 19.1 innings out of the Texas bullpen this season.
