Danny Jansen
Danny Jansen Resumes throwing Saturday
Mon, Jun 22, 2026, 8:15 AM
Jansen (forearm) was able to throw out to 60 feet Saturday, Shawn McFarland of The Dallas Morning News reports.
Analysis: Saturday marked the first time that Jansen was able to do any throwing since landing on the 10-day injured list June 6 due to a right forearm strain. Jansen had already been hitting and catching bullpen sessions, so working his way through a throwing progression will be his main objective before the Rangers send him out on a rehab assignment. Kyle Higashioka has been serving as the Rangers' primary backstop while Jansen has been on the shelf.
Jordan Montgomery
Jordan Montgomery Scoreless frame in rehab start
Sun, Jun 21, 2026, 8:06 PM
Montgomery (elbow) allowed one hit and struck out a batter over a scoreless inning in a rehab start for Double-A Frisco on Sunday.
Analysis: Since Montgomery was pitching for the first time at any level since undergoing a hybrid UCL reconstruction last March, the Rangers had scheduled him for just one inning to kick off his rehab assignment. He was able to pass his first test without much drama, allowing a double but getting out of the inning in 13 pitches (10 strikes). Montgomery is expected to gradually increase his pitch counts over multiple rehab starts during the course of his 30-day rehab window, and his performance during his time in the minors will likely dictate whether he claims a spot in the Texas rotation or works in long relief upon his return from the 60-day injured list.
Jakob Junis
Jakob Junis Hangs on for fifth save
Sun, Jun 21, 2026, 6:02 PM
Junis secured the save Sunday against the Padres, allowing no runs on two hits and no walks in the ninth inning. He struck out one.
Analysis: Junis allowed the possible tying and go-ahead runs to get aboard, but he still held on for the save Sunday. The 33-year-old journeyman reliever has emerged as an effective high-leverage arm in 2026, though he's now given up multiple hits in three consecutive outings. Through 32 innings, Junis has a 1.97 ERA, 0.91 WHIP and 23:5 K:BB while converting five of his six save opportunities.
Nathan Eovaldi
Nathan Eovaldi Fans season-high nine in win
Sun, Jun 21, 2026, 5:47 PM
Eovaldi (7-7) earned the win Sunday against San Diego, allowing three runs on seven hits and one walk in six innings. He struck out nine.
Analysis: After being scratched from his scheduled start Saturday due to left knee soreness, Eovaldi looked no worse for wear Sunday while logging his eighth quality start of the year and keeping the ball in the park as well. The 36-year-old right-hander recorded a season high in punchouts, also generating an impressive 16 whiffs on the afternoon. Eovaldi still has a lackluster 4.24 ERA, but his 1.18 WHIP and 92:22 K:BB over 93.1 frames are much more encouraging figures.
Jordan Montgomery
Jordan Montgomery Starting rehab assignment
Sun, Jun 21, 2026, 2:57 PM
Montgomery (elbow) will begin a rehab assignment Sunday with Double-A Frisco.
Analysis: The left-hander has been working his way back from the hybrid UCL reconstruction surgery he underwent on his elbow in March 2025, and he's now entering the final stage of his rehab program. Montgomery will require a handful of rehab starts in the minor leagues before gaining full clearance, lining him up to potentially join the Rangers in late July or early August.
Corey Seager
Corey Seager Continuing to ramp back up
Sun, Jun 21, 2026, 1:24 PM
Seager (concussion) took part in defensive drills on the field prior to Sunday's game against the Padres, Shawn McFarland of The Dallas Morning News reports.
Analysis: Though he remains on the 7-day injured list, Seager's ability to take part in a pregame workout suggests he's progressing in his recovery from a mild concussion. Seager is slated to travel with the Rangers during their upcoming 10-game road swing, but it's unclear if he'll be able to clear the protocol and make his return from the IL at any point during that trip.
Nicky Lopez
Nicky Lopez Claiming third straight start
Sun, Jun 21, 2026, 1:21 PM
Lopez will start at second base and bat ninth in Sunday's game against the Padres.
Analysis: Lopez will remain in the starting nine for a third straight game after he went 2-for-7 over the first two contests of the series. The 31-year-old journeyman could be in store for a regular role until Texas gets Corey Seager (concussion) back from the 7-day injured list.
Jose Corniell
Jose Corniell Called up Sunday
Sun, Jun 21, 2026, 12:49 PM
The Rangers recalled Corniell from Triple-A Round Rock on Sunday.
Analysis: The right-hander will get a look with the Rangers for the first time this season after struggling to a 6.08 ERA, 1.72 WHIP and 19:10 K:BB across 26.2 innings with Round Rock. Corniell has primarily worked as a starter at Triple-A, but it's not yet clear if he's seen as a candidate to replace Jack Leiter (ankle) in the rotation.
Jack Leiter
Jack Leiter Hits IL with ankle issue
Sun, Jun 21, 2026, 11:45 AM
The Rangers placed Leiter on the 15-day injured list Sunday due to a right ankle posterior impingement.
Analysis: While Leiter hasn't been forced to miss any turns through the rotation as a result of the ankle injury, he's been pitching through the issue for most of the season, and his conditioned worsened when he slipped on the field during an April 22 start, per Shawn McFarland of The Dallas Morning News. Pitching through the ankle concern could be a factor in why the 26-year-old righty hasn't taken the step forward this season that both the Rangers and fantasy managers were counting on, as he's turned in a 5.29 ERA and 1.44 WHIP in 80 innings over his first 15 starts. Texas recalled Jose Corniell from Triple-A Round Rock to take over Leiter's spot on the 26-man active roster, but it's not immediately clear who will replace Leiter in the rotation.
Jake Burger
Jake Burger Homers in loss
Sun, Jun 21, 2026, 10:16 AM
Burger went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run in Saturday's 6-4 extra-inning loss to the Padres. He was also hit by a pitch.
Analysis: Burger gave the Rangers a 3-1 lead in the seventh inning with his 13th of the season. That extended a seven-game hit streak for the first baseman, who is a modest 7-for-26 (.269) during that stretch with four extra-base hits, including two HR, and five RBI. He got hit on the right hand in the ninth and was in obvious pain, according to Matt Postins of SI.com, but Burger was cleared by team trainers and finished the contest at first base.
Jarred Kelenic
Jarred Kelenic Makes first start for Texas
Sun, Jun 21, 2026, 10:05 AM
Kelenic started in left field and went 1-for-3 with a run scored in Saturday's 6-4 extra-inning loss to San Diego.
Analysis: Kelenic started his first game for the Rangers, who selected his contract from Triple-A Round Rock on Friday. With two everyday spots in the outfield locked down (Wyatt Langford and Brandon Nimmo), Kelenic joins a group that includes Alejandro Osuna and Cody Freeman vying for the at-bats that had previously belonged to Evan Carter (oblique). Kelenic, who signed with the organization earlier this month, slashed .340/.431/.620 with three home runs, 11 RBI, three steals and 12 runs over 59 plate appearances at Round Rock before getting back to the majors.
MacKenzie Gore
MacKenzie Gore Six strong innings in no-decision
Sat, Jun 20, 2026, 9:29 PM
Gore took a no-decision Saturday against San Diego, allowing one run on five hits and two walks in six innings. He struck out six.
Analysis: Control has been a common issue for Gore in 2026, but he managed to submit his sixth start of the year with at least six frames Saturday. The 27-year-old southpaw has issued multiple free passes in four straight appearances and 12 of his 16 outings so far, but he's given up more than three runs on only four occasions. Gore will carry a middling 4.07 ERA, 1.30 WHIP and 92:37 K:BB over 84 innings into his next scheduled start in Toronto.
Nathan Eovaldi
Nathan Eovaldi Expected to start Sunday
Sat, Jun 20, 2026, 6:59 PM
Eovaldi (knee) will start Sunday's series finale against the Padres, Kennedi Landry of MLB.com reports.
Analysis: The Rangers scratched Eovaldi from his scheduled start Saturday due to left knee soreness, but the level of concern within the organization is evidently low since the veteran will end up being pushed back by just one day. Eovaldi has dropped three of his last four decisions, posting a 5.23 ERA and 1.19 WHIP over his last five starts.
Alejandro Osuna
Alejandro Osuna Getting rest Saturday
Sat, Jun 20, 2026, 12:51 PM
Osuna isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against San Diego.
Analysis: Osuna has gone 4-for-16 with two RBI and three runs scored while starting five consecutive games in the Rangers' outfield, but he'll retreat to the bench Saturday while Jarred Kelenic starts in left field, batting sixth.
Nathan Eovaldi
Nathan Eovaldi Scratched from start
Sat, Jun 20, 2026, 11:22 AM
Eovaldi was scratched from his start Saturday against the Padres due to left knee soreness, Kennedi Landry of MLB.com reports.
Analysis: The Rangers are saying that Eovaldi's knee is just "a little" sore, so while he won't be able to pitch Saturday, a trip to the injured list may not be necessary. MacKenzie Gore will move up a day and toe the slab in place of Eovaldi.
Alejandro Osuna
Alejandro Osuna Makes fifth straight start
Sat, Jun 20, 2026, 9:21 AM
Osuna started in left field and went 2-for-3 with a double, two RBI and a run scored in Friday's 9-7 win over San Diego.
Analysis: Osuna had a two-run double in the bottom of the first inning, as the Rangers scored six times to overcome the five runs the Padres scored in the top of the frame. The left-handed hitter has started all five games since being recalled earlier this week, playing left field and center field. His run of playing time is the result of Evan Carter (oblique) landing on the injured list, and Osuna could be a regular against right-handed starters.
Wyatt Langford
Wyatt Langford Drives offense in win
Fri, Jun 19, 2026, 11:05 PM
Langford went 3-for-5 with a home run, a double and two RBI in Friday's 9-7 win over the Padres.
Analysis: Langford gave the Rangers the lead in the fourth with an RBI double before providing some insurance with a solo homer in the eighth. The 24-year-old has played well since returning from the injured list June 5, hitting .288 with seven extra-base hits, seven RBI, nine runs scored and a stolen base across 13 games. For the year, he's slashing .258/.300/.447 with five home runs, 11 RBI, 18 runs scored and four steals over 140 plate appearances.
Jacob Latz
Jacob Latz Earns four-out save
Fri, Jun 19, 2026, 10:36 PM
Latz earned the save in Friday's 9-7 win over the Padres, allowing one hit in 1.1 scoreless innings. He did not record a walk or a strikeout.
Analysis: Latz was called on to relieve Jakob Junis in a one-run game in the eighth inning and recorded the final out of the frame before closing things out in the ninth. The southpaw has now secured a save in each of his past eight appearances, allowing just one earned run during that stretch. On the year, he owns a 1.56 ERA, 0.61 WHIP and 35:7 K:BB across 34.2 innings while converting 13 of 15 save opportunities.
Jacob deGrom
Jacob deGrom Overcomes early struggles in win
Fri, Jun 19, 2026, 10:30 PM
DeGrom (6-4) earned the win against the Padres on Friday, allowing six runs on six hits and three walks with nine strikeouts over six innings.
Analysis: DeGrom allowed five runs in the first inning but battled through five more frames as the Rangers erupted for nine runs in the contest. It marked the third time this season the 38-year-old has yielded six earned runs, though he still managed an impressive 17 swinging strikes on 106 pitches. He'll take a 3.59 ERA, 1.03 WHIP and 98:18 K:BB across 82.2 innings into a road matchup against the Marlins next week.
Michael Helman
Michael Helman Transferred to 60-day IL
Fri, Jun 19, 2026, 3:17 PM
Texas transferred Helman (hand) to the 60-day injured list Friday.
Analysis: Helman was placed on the 10-day IL on June 14 after suffering multiple fractures in his right hand after being hit by a pitch. The Rangers decided to move the 30-year-old to the 60-day IL in order to free up a spot on the 40-man roster for Jarred Kelenic. Helman has appeared in just 15 games for Texas this season, recording 35 plate appearances.
