Jake Fraley Homers in return to lineup
Sat, Apr 25, 2026, 7:02 PM
Fraley went 1-for-2 with a two-run home run in Saturday's 6-1 win over the Twins.
Analysis: Fraley gave the Rays a 2-0 lead they wouldn't relinquish with a 401-foot blast in the fourth inning. He was later replaced by Jonny DeLuca, who entered to face lefty Taylor Rogers in the seventh. On the season, the 30-year-old Fraley is slashing .240/.309/.440 with two homers, four RBI, four runs scored and two steals across 55 plate appearances.
Ben Williamson

Sat, Apr 25, 2026, 6:55 PM
Williamson went 3-for-4 with a double, a triple, two RBI and one run scored in Saturday's 6-1 win over the Twins.
Analysis: Williamson provided damage late, lacing an RBI triple in the seventh inning before driving in another run with a double in the eighth. The 25-year-old has drawn back-to-back starts against righties and is in the lineup more often than not in the Rays' middle infield. On the year, he's slashing .261/.338/.362 with five doubles, one triple, 10 RBI, 13 runs scored and two steals across 78 plate appearances.
Shane McClanahan
Shane McClanahan Blanks Twins in win
Sat, Apr 25, 2026, 6:46 PM
McClanahan (2-2) earned the win against the Twins on Saturday, allowing three hits and two walks while striking out seven over five scoreless innings.
Analysis: McClanahan cruised through five frames, throwing 60 of 86 pitches for strikes while generating 15 whiffs and limiting the Twins to only singles. While the southpaw has yielded two earned runs or fewer in four of five outings this season, he has yet to pitch beyond the fifth inning as he continues to ease his way back from a lengthy absence. He owns a 3.91 ERA, 1.26 WHIP and 25:13 K:BB across 23 innings and lines up for a home matchup against the Giants next weekend.
Jesse Scholtens
Jesse Scholtens Following Jax on Sunday
Sat, Apr 25, 2026, 6:45 PM
Scholtens will operate in a bulk relief role in Sunday's series finale against the Twins, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Analysis: The Rays will opt to use Griffin Jax as the opener for Sunday's contest, with Scholtens following suit. Scholtens made his first start of the season against the Reds this past Monday, when he took the loss after allowing five runs while striking out six across 5.2 innings without issuing a walk. The 32-year-old right-hander has a 2.93 ERA, 0.98 WHIP and 13:3 K:BB across 15.1 innings this season.
Griffin Jax
Griffin Jax Serving as Sunday's opener
Sat, Apr 25, 2026, 6:42 PM
Jax will serve as the Rays' opener for Sunday's series finale against the Twins, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Analysis: Jesse Scholtens was originally slated to start in Sunday's game, but he'll instead follow Jax in a bulk relief role. Jax has given up at least one earned run in two of his last three outings and has an 8.00 ERA, 1.89 WHIP two holds and a 10:7 K:BB across nine innings this season.
Taylor Walls
Taylor Walls Idle Saturday
Sat, Apr 25, 2026, 12:53 PM
Walls isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against Minnesota, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Analysis: Walls will get a day to clear his head after going just 1-for-21 at the plate with nine strikeouts over his last six games. Ben Williamson will take over at shortstop Saturday and bat sixth.
Jake Fraley
Jake Fraley Back in lineup
Sat, Apr 25, 2026, 12:51 PM
Fraley (shin) will start in right field and bat fifth Saturday against the Twins, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Analysis: Fraley missed the Rays' last two games after fouling a pitch off his leg Tuesday, but he's now feeling well enough to return to the starting nine. The 30-year-old outfielder has collected a hit in six of his last eight games and is slashing .261/.320/.435 with a homer, two RBI and two runs in that span.
Jonathan Aranda
Jonathan Aranda Slugs two homers in win
Fri, Apr 24, 2026, 11:25 PM
Aranda went 2-for-4 with two solo home runs during Friday's 6-2 win over the Twins.
Analysis: Aranda hit homers in the fourth and sixth innings as part of his first multi-homer game of the season. It was just the second multi-hit game for the 27-year-old over his last 13 games after having four in his first 12 games. Regardless, he has been one of the Rays' best run-producers on the season, notching 21 RBI through 25 games played while slashing .236/.366/.483.
Jacob Melton
Jacob Melton Out several weeks with ankle sprain
Fri, Apr 24, 2026, 11:00 PM
Melton (ankle) is expected to be out of action for at least four weeks, MLB.com reports.
Analysis: Melton suffered a Grade 2 left ankle sprain in a minor-league game Wednesday, and he could be sidelined for as many as six weeks. The timetable for a return likely means the 25-year-old outfielder will be on the shelf until at least some point in late May. Melton, one of Tampa Bay's top prospects, was slashing .231/.346/.431 with 10 extra-base hits, 10 RBI, 13 runs scored and 17 stolen bases over 82 plate appearances for Triple-A Durham before going down.
Junior Caminero
Junior Caminero Stays hot with two homers
Fri, Apr 24, 2026, 10:52 PM
Caminero went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and a two-run home run during Friday's 6-2 win over the Twins.
Analysis: Caminero extended his hitting streak out to nine games in a big way, hitting two home runs as part of a three-RBI day. He didn't waste too much time, hitting a massive 450-foot home run in the first inning and then adding the two-run shot in the seventh to add a couple of insurance runs. Over the course of his hit streak, the 22-year-old is 11-for-36 (.306 batting average) with six home runs and 11 RBI/
Edwin Uceta
Edwin Uceta Shifts to 60-day IL
Fri, Apr 24, 2026, 5:47 PM
The Rays transferred Uceta (shoulder) to the 60-day injured list Friday, Ryan Bass of Rays.tv reports.
Analysis: Uceta has been on the injured list all season due to a right shoulder impingement, and he was recently shut down for another 2-to-3 weeks due to strain of the same shoulder. The move to the 60-day IL is hardly a surprise given that development, and Uceta now won't be eligible to be reinstated until late May at the earliest.
Jake Fraley
Jake Fraley Sitting again Friday
Fri, Apr 24, 2026, 3:40 PM
Fraley (shin) is out of the lineup for Friday's game against the Twins, Ryan Bass of Rays.tv reports.
Analysis: Fraley will remain on the bench Friday for a second straight game after fouling a pitch off himself during Tuesday's game against the Reds. Jonny DeLuca is starting in right field and batting fifth against Minnesota righty and former teammate Taj Bradley.
Casey Legumina
Casey Legumina Sent to Tampa Bay
Fri, Apr 24, 2026, 12:10 PM
The Rays acquired Legumina from the Mariners on Friday in exchange for Ty Cummings, Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: Legumina was designated for assignment by Seattle earlier this week after posting a 4.63 ERA, 1.54 WHIP and 9:3 K:BB across 11.2 innings out of the Mariners' bullpen. The right-hander owns a career 5.83 ERA spanning 83.1 innings.
Yandy Diaz
Yandy Diaz Keeps up hot hitting in win
Wed, Apr 22, 2026, 4:46 PM
Diaz 3-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored in Wednesday's 6-1 win over the Reds.
Analysis: It was Diaz's third three-hit attack of the campaign and his eighth multi-hit effort so far this year. There had been some initial concern that the first baseman's production might take a hit in 2026, with the Rays moving back to pitcher-friendly Tropicana Field, but Diaz has quelled those fears to this point. Through 108 plate appearances, he's slashing a potent .340/.426/.489 with seven extra-base hits, 18 RBI, 13 runs scored and one stolen base.
Junior Caminero
Junior Caminero Belts sixth homer
Wed, Apr 22, 2026, 3:40 PM
Caminero went 1-for-4 with a home run and two RBI in Wednesday's 6-1 win over the Reds.
Analysis: The third baseman lofted a Brandon Williamson two-seamer 404 feet the other way in the third inning for a solo shot, and Tampa Bay's only extra-base hit of the contest. Caminero has hit safely in eight straight games, batting .306 (11-for-36) over that stretch with four of his six homers on the season along with eight runs and eight RBI.
Nick Martinez
Nick Martinez Sharp in revenge start against Reds
Wed, Apr 22, 2026, 3:36 PM
Martinez (1-1) picked up the win Wednesday, allowing one run on five hits and a walk over eight innings in a 6-1 victory over Cincinnati. He struck out six.
Analysis: Facing the team he spent the last two seasons with in a swingman role, Martinez made a very strong statement about his ability to be a regular member of a big-league rotation. The veteran right-hander fired 71 strikes among his 95 pitches over a career-best eight frames, and Martinez now has three quality starts among his first five trips to the mound for the Rays. He'll take a 2.10 ERA, 1.10 WHIP and 20:8 K:BB through 30 innings into his next outing, which is set to come on the road early next week in Cleveland.
Ben Williamson
Ben Williamson Fading into platoon role
Wed, Apr 22, 2026, 10:19 AM
Williamson will start at second base and bat sixth in Wednesday's game against the Reds, Ryan Bass of Rays.tv reports.
Analysis: Williamson had been on the bench for each of the last four games while the Rays faced right-handed starting pitchers, but he'll slot back into the lineup at the keystone as lefty Brandon Williamson takes the hill for the Reds. The Rays had previously been running more of a timeshare at second base through the first few weeks of the season, but Williamson since appears to have moved into the short side of a platoon at the position with the left-handed-hitting Richie Palacios.
Richie Palacios
Richie Palacios Idle against lefty
Wed, Apr 22, 2026, 10:17 AM
Palacios is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Reds, Ryan Bass of Rays.tv reports.
Analysis: Palacios had started in each of the last five games and went 3-for-13 with a double, two walks and two runs over that stretch, but he'll hit the bench Wednesday while the Reds send southpaw Brandon Williamson to the bump. Palacios appears to have settled into the strong side of a platoon at second base with Ben Williamson, who will occupy the keystone in the series finale.
Cedric Mullins
Cedric Mullins Idle against lefty
Wed, Apr 22, 2026, 10:10 AM
Mullins is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Reds, Ryan Bass of Rays.tv reports.
Analysis: Mullins had started in each of the Rays' last seven games, but the left-handed-hitting outfielder will take a seat for the series finale while the Reds send southpaw Brandon Williamson to the mound. Over 20 plate appearances against lefties this season, Mullins has slashed .176/.263/.176.
Jake Fraley
Jake Fraley Not starting Wednesday
Wed, Apr 22, 2026, 10:04 AM
Fraley (shin) is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Reds, Ryan Bass of Rays.tv reports.
Analysis: Fraley was lifted early in Tuesday's 12-6 loss after bruising his right shin when he fouled a pitch off himself. According to Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times, manager Kevin Cash said that Fraley is still feeling sore a day later, but the left-handed-hitting outfielder wasn't in line to start Wednesday anyway while Cincinnati sends southpaw Brandon Williamson to the bump. Cash is hopeful that Fraley will be ready to rejoin the lineup for Friday's series opener versus the Twins following a team off day Thursday.
