Jordan Walker
Jordan Walker Plates three runs Friday
Sat, Jun 13, 2026, 9:09 AM
Walker went 1-for-5 with a double and three RBI in Friday's loss to the Twins.
Analysis: Walker only had one knock in this game but it was a big one, as he broke a 4-4 tie in the top of the seventh with a bases-loaded double that scored JJ Wetherholt, Ivan Herrera and Alec Burleson. Walker has at least one RBI in six of his last seven games, a stretch in which he's hitting .364 with a 1.061 OPS. He's also riding a nine-game hitting streak.
Ryne Stanek
Ryne Stanek Gives up three homers Friday
Sat, Jun 13, 2026, 8:50 AM
Stanek (2-1) was charged with the loss and a blown save Friday against the Twins after allowing three runs on three hits (all home runs) across 1.1 innings. He struck out one.
Analysis: Stanek had given up just two home runs over 29 outings and 26 innings this season prior to Friday, but he was taken deep by Kody Clemens, Royce Lewis and Brooks Lee. Clemens was the first batter he faced with two outs and two men on base in the seventh inning, but he launched his 10th homer of the season to tie the game, and Stanek never regained his composure, allowing solo shots to Lewis and Lee in the eighth frame. Despite this subpar outing, Stanek should continue to be a reliable late-inning option for the Cardinals. He owns a 5.60 ERA but has 11 holds already, although he's also gone 1-for-3 in save chances, so any ninth-inning duty isn't probably on the horizon for him.
Kyle Leahy
Kyle Leahy No-decision Friday
Sat, Jun 13, 2026, 8:43 AM
Leahy didn't factor into the decision Friday against the Twins. He allowed four runs on eight hits and a walk across five innings while striking out five.
Analysis: Leahy only tossed 49 of his 77 pitches for strikes and wasn't involved in the decision for a fourth consecutive outing. He's given up at least three earned runs in three of those starts, so it's hard to rely on him in most formats, especially since he's also failed to pitch more than five innings in each of those aforementioned four outings. Leahy owns a 4.30 ERA with a 25:12 K:BB since the beginning of May and is slated to make his next start at home against the Padres.
Ramon Urias
Ramon Urias Moved to 60-day IL
Fri, Jun 12, 2026, 3:38 PM
The Cardinals transferred Urias (elbows) to the 60-day injured list Friday, Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
Analysis: The transaction frees up a spot on the 40-man roster for the addition of Blaze Jordan. Urias has been out since early May with tennis elbow in his right arm, and he had to be pulled off a rehab assignment last week after developing the same injury to his other elbow. There's no timetable for his return.
Chris Roycroft
Chris Roycroft Rejoins big-league bullpen
Fri, Jun 12, 2026, 3:32 PM
The Cardinals recalled Roycroft from Triple-A Memphis on Friday, Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
Analysis: Roycroft has been unscored upon in seven of his last eight outings at Memphis while showing an uptick in velocity, having averaged 96.8 mph with his sinker in his last appearance. He'll operate in middle relief for St. Louis.
Hunter Dobbins
Hunter Dobbins Jettisoned to minors
Fri, Jun 12, 2026, 3:28 PM
The Cardinals optioned Dobbins to Triple-A Memphis on Friday, Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
Analysis: Dobbins made a couple long-relief appearances and one start for the Cardinals during his stint in the majors. The club had left open the possibility of sticking with Dobbins as part of a six-man rotation for at least another turn, but ultimately it opted to revert back to a five-man setup. Dobbins holds a 3.63 ERA, 1.38 WHIP and 19:7 K:BB across 17.1 innings in the majors this season.
Nolan Gorman
Nolan Gorman Optioned following extended slump
Fri, Jun 12, 2026, 3:24 PM
The Cardinals optioned Gorman to Triple-A Memphis on Friday, Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
Analysis: Gorman is slashing a feeble .194/.279/.318 with a 32.3 percent strikeout rate this season, and he's gone 3-for-50 with a 5:27 BB:K over his last 17 contests. The 26-year-old will attempt to get his swing right at Memphis, but Gorman's days as a regular in St. Louis might be over.
Added to big-league roster
Fri, Jun 12, 2026, 3:20 PM
The Cardinals selected Jordan's contract from Triple-A Memphis on Friday, Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
Analysis: Jordan earned his first big-league promotion by slashing .313/.373/.548 with 11 home runs and a 19:29 BB:K over 57 games with Memphis. The 23-year-old has split time between first and third base at Memphis, and there's a clear opening at the hot corner in St. Louis that Jordan could fill. Jordan is starting at third base and batting eighth Friday in Minnesota in his major-league debut.
Jimmy Crooks
Jimmy Crooks Launches first home run
Fri, Jun 12, 2026, 6:53 AM
Crooks went 1-for-4 with a two-run homer in Thursday's 5-4 loss to the Mets.
Analysis: Crooks put the Cardinals ahead 4-3 in the second inning with his 374-foot blast off Christian Scott, his first long ball this season. Since he was called up May 29, Crooks has been part of a committee behind the plate with Ivan Herrera and Pedro Pages, going 4-for-22 (.182) with a .614 OPS across seven games. Crooks appeared in 15 games with St. Louis in 2025, slashing .133/.152/.244 with one home run.
Hunter Dobbins
Hunter Dobbins Goes 4.1 innings vs. Mets
Fri, Jun 12, 2026, 6:40 AM
Dobbins did not factor into the decision in Thursday's 5-4 loss to the Mets, allowing three runs on seven hits over 4.1 innings. He struck out five without walking a batter.
Analysis: The Mets got to Dobbins early, scoring three runs on a pair of first-inning homers by Bo Bichette and Jared Young, but the right-hander would manage to settle in and hold New York scoreless over his final 3.1 frames. Dobbins has made two starts and four appearances overall for St. Louis this season, posting a 3.63 ERA with a 1.38 WHIP and 19:7 K:BB across 17.1 innings. He would currently line up to face the Padres at home in his next outing, assuming the Cardinals stick with a six-man rotation.
Alec Burleson
Alec Burleson Homers in third straight game
Thu, Jun 11, 2026, 3:13 PM
Burleson went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Thursday's 5-4 loss to the Mets.
Analysis: With his 424-foot blast off Christian Scott in the first inning, Burleson extended his home-run streak to three games and his hit streak to 11. In those 11 games, Burleson has gone 16-for-45 (.356) with a 1.119 OPS. He's boosted his slash line to .290/.356/.486 across 284 plate appearances this year with 11 homers, 48 RBI and 35 runs scored.
Jordan Walker
Jordan Walker Breakout campaign continues
Wed, Jun 10, 2026, 9:30 PM
Walker went 2-for-5 with a three-run home run and an additional RBI in Wednesday's 9-2 win over the Mets.
Analysis: Walker extended his hitting streak to seven games and his RBI streak to five outings Wednesday. The 24-year-old right fielder has five multi-hit efforts during that former stretch as well. Walker has blossomed into a five-category fantasy producer in 2026, slashing .303/.360/.566 with 17 homers, 52 RBI, 10 stolen bases and 45 runs scored over 275 plate appearances.
Andre Pallante
Andre Pallante Continues to provide length
Wed, Jun 10, 2026, 9:23 PM
Pallante (7-4) earned the win Wednesday against the Mets, allowing two runs on three hits and two walks in six innings. He struck out five.
Analysis: Pallante kept the Mets off balance throughout the evening, inducing an impressive nine groundouts. The 27-year-old right-hander continues to be a strong source of length in the Cardinals' rotation, working at least five innings in all but one of his 13 starts so far. Pallante will try to further improve on a quality 3.88 ERA, 1.26 WHIP and 56:25 K:BB over 69.2 frames in his next scheduled outing against the Padres.
Bryan Torres
Bryan Torres Losing out on playing time
Wed, Jun 10, 2026, 4:30 PM
Torres is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Mets.
Analysis: Torres will hit the bench for the second game in a row and looks like he may have to settle for a fourth-outfielder role along with a backup gig at second base following the recent returns of Lars Nootbaar and Nathan Church from the injured list. Like Nootbaar and Church, Torres bats from the left side of the plate, so he won't make for a viable platoon partner for either outfielder.
Nolan Gorman
Nolan Gorman Heading to bench Wednesday
Wed, Jun 10, 2026, 4:27 PM
Gorman is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Mets.
Analysis: Gorman reached base on a pair of walks in Tuesday's 7-0 win in the series opener, but he remains stuck in prolonged dry spell at the dish. Dating back to May 20, Gorman has gone just 3-for-47 (.064 average) with one extra-base hit (a solo home run) while striking out at a 48.1 percent clip. The Cardinals will continue to shield Gorman from left-handed pitching, and he could be at risk of falling into more of a part-time role versus right-handers if he's unable to get going soon.
Jimmy Crooks
Jimmy Crooks Exiting lineup Wednesday
Wed, Jun 10, 2026, 4:24 PM
Crooks is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Mets.
Analysis: Andre Pallante has worked in a battery with Ivan Herrera for all but one of his 12 starts this season, so Crooks will take a seat while Herrera steps in behind the plate for the middle game of the series. Since being called up from Triple-A Memphis on May 29, Crooks has started in five of the Cardinals' ensuing 11 games while going 3-for-18 with a double, two walks and two RBI.
Ivan Herrera
Ivan Herrera Reaches base five times
Wed, Jun 10, 2026, 11:50 AM
Herrera went 3-for-3 with a double and three runs scored in Tuesday's win over the Mets.
Analysis: Herrera was hit by a Freddy Peralta pitch in both of his first two trips to the plate before later adding two singles and a double. The 26-year-old's hard-hit rate, barrel rate and average exit velocity are all down year-over-year. However, Herrera boasts a 12 percent walk rate and a 16.5 percent strikeout rate, and he is on pace to score more than 100 runs.
Nathan Church
Nathan Church Activated from injured list
Tue, Jun 9, 2026, 2:30 PM
The Cardinals activated Church (shoulder) from the injured list Tuesday, Jim Hayes of FanDuel Sports Network Midwest reports.
Analysis: After landing on the IL on May 22, Church will return to St. Louis having missed over two weeks of action. Before hitting the injured list, the 25-year-old slashed .247/.282/.390 with five homers and 18 RBI. St. Louis optioned Victor Scott in order to make room for Church, who will play center field and bat ninth for the Cardinals on Tuesday.
Injury confirmed
Tue, Jun 9, 2026, 2:20 PM
Peete is dealing with a concussion at High-A Peoria, Geoff Pontes of Baseball America reports.
Analysis: It appeared Peete injured his hand on a slide May 13, but this latest report clears up the diagnosis. The 20-year-old outfielder has always been young for his levels and was in the midst of his best stretch above rookie ball (117 wRC+) despite a career-high 31.4 percent strikeout rate.
Victor Scott II
Victor Scott II Officially optioned back to minors
Tue, Jun 9, 2026, 8:19 AM
The Cardinals optioned Scott to Triple-A Memphis on Monday.
Analysis: Scott remains an elite defensive center fielder, but his bat has become untenable, as he's slashing just .194/.276/.258 across 61 games this season. Nathan Church (shoulder) will be activated from the 10-day injured list to grab Scott's roster spot and is also the favorite to see the bulk of the playing time in center field.
