Luis Peralta
Luis Peralta Claimed by Cardinals
Mon, Apr 27, 2026, 2:50 PM
The Cardinals claimed Peralta off waivers from the Rockies on Monday.
Analysis: The younger brother of Freddy Peralta, Luis has spent all of this season at Triple-A Albuquerque, where he's been bludgeoned for 14 runs with a 14:13 K:BB over 7.1 frames. The left-hander has collected a 6.03 ERA and 30:23 K:BB in 31.1 innings during his chances at the big-league level. Peralta boasts a 30.2 percent strikeout rate in the minors but also a 13.9 percent walk rate. He will report to Triple-A Memphis.
Victor Scott II
Victor Scott II Heading to bench for series opener
Mon, Apr 27, 2026, 2:15 PM
Scott is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Pirates.
Analysis: After another 0-for-3 performance in Sunday's 3-2 loss to Seattle dropped his season average to .191, Scott will take a seat for the series opener in Pittsburgh. Nathan Church will fill in as the Cardinals' center fielder in place of Scott, who could be at risk of falling into more of a part-time role if he's unable to get going offensively over his next handful of starts.
Pedro Pages
Pedro Pages Checking back into lineup
Mon, Apr 27, 2026, 2:11 PM
Pages (hamstring) will start at catcher and bat ninth in Monday's game against the Pirates.
Analysis: A sore left hamstring knocked Pages out of Saturday's 11-9 loss to the Mariners and kept him from playing in Sunday's series finale, but the lone day off appears to be all that the backstop needed to overcome the issue. Pages will step back in behind the dish Monday in Pittsburgh, and while he may continue to operate as St. Louis' main catcher, he'll likely continue to cede at least a couple starts per week to Ivan Herrera.
Ryne Stanek
Ryne Stanek Dominant in appearance
Mon, Apr 27, 2026, 1:31 PM
Stanek pitched a perfect inning while striking out the side in a 3-2 loss to Seattle on Sunday.
Analysis: After entering the game in the eighth inning, Stanek retired the top three Mariners hitters, J.P. Crawford, Cal Raleigh and Julio Rodriguez, in order. The veteran right-hander pitched back-to-back scoreless outings against Seattle. The 34-year-old has been shaky this season with 10 earned runs allowed in just 11.2 innings pitched, while recording 17 strikeouts as well.
JoJo Romero
JoJo Romero Hits rough patch
Mon, Apr 27, 2026, 12:38 PM
Romero took the loss in Sunday's game against the Mariners, serving up tiebreaking solo home run in the top of the ninth inning.
Analysis: Romero initially had Rob Refsnyder struck out on a called strike three, but Refsnyder successfully had the call overturned and then proceeded to club his second home run of the season. After being unscored upon in his first 10 appearances of the season, Romero has yielded a total of six runs over 2.1 frames covering his last three outings. The left-hander has notched seven holds this season and will remain the Cardinals' primary left-handed setup man, despite the recent rough stretch.
Yohel Pozo
Yohel Pozo Hitless in loss
Mon, Apr 27, 2026, 12:31 PM
Pozo went 0-for-1 in his lone plate appearance Sunday in the 3-2 loss to the Mariners.
Analysis: Pozo came in as a pinch-hitter in the ninth and grounded out for the second put-out of the inning. The right-hander, who is operating as the secondary backup catcher and designated hitter, has gotten some playing time this season with Pedro Pages (hamstring) out a couple of games. The 28-year-old has only started in two games so far this season and has mostly come on as a pinch-hitter or defensive replacement at catcher.
Michael McGreevy
Michael McGreevy Fans six in six strong innings
Sun, Apr 26, 2026, 6:05 PM
McGreevy took a no-decision Sunday against the Mariners, allowing one run on five hits and no walks in six innings. He struck out six.
Analysis: The right-hander put together one of his best starts on the young season, fanning a season-high six while matching a season most in innings. McGreevy has provided fairly consistent length for the Cardinals as well, firing at least five frames in all but one of his first six starts in 2026. Although he boasts a 2.97 ERA, 0.90 WHIP and 21:5 K:BB across 33.1 innings so far, a daunting task versus the Dodgers awaits McGreevy in his next scheduled outing.
Hunter Dobbins
Hunter Dobbins Set for start Thursday
Sun, Apr 26, 2026, 4:27 PM
Dobbins (knee) is expected to start on the mound for Cardinals on Thursday in Pittsburgh, Jeff Jones of the Belleville News-Democrat reports.
Analysis: Dobbins appears to be on track to make his return from the 15-day injured list in the team's series finale against the Pirates. The right-hander has yet to make his 2026 major-league debut after opening the season sidelined while continuing to recover from a torn ACL in his right knee that he suffered in July of 2025. Dobbins has made five starts with Triple-A Memphis during his minor-league rehab assignment, producing a 4.37 ERA and 1.35 WHIP with 19 punchouts over 22.2 innings.
Pedro Pages
Pedro Pages Held out of Sunday's lineup
Sun, Apr 26, 2026, 11:56 AM
Pages (hamstring) is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Mariners.
Analysis: Pages exited Saturday's contest due to left hamstring soreness and will miss at least one game. According to Lynn Worthy of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, the 27-year-old backstop said that medical imaging came back clean, so he could rejoin the lineup for Monday's series opener in Pittsburgh. Ivan Herrera will step behind the plate Sunday as Ramon Urias enters the starting nine.
Ivan Herrera
Ivan Herrera Extends hitting streak with homer
Sat, Apr 25, 2026, 6:31 PM
Herrera went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Saturday's 11-9 loss to the Mariners.
Analysis: The 25-year-old went back-to-back with JJ Wetherholt in the bottom of the first inning off Bryan Woo, as Herrera extended his hitting streak to eight games. He was also hit by two more pitches, boosting his painful league-leading total to eight. Herrera was back at DH on Saturday after playing his 10th game of the season Friday, gaining eligibility at the position in most fantasy formats, but he could see a bigger workload behind the plate in the short term if Pedro Pages ends up missing significant time after exiting Saturday's loss with hamstring tightness.
Nathan Church
Nathan Church Goes yard twice in Saturday's loss
Sat, Apr 25, 2026, 6:26 PM
Church went 2-for-4 with two home runs and four RBI in Saturday's 11-9 loss to the Mariners.
Analysis: The two teams combined for eight long balls in the wild, back-and-forth affair, and Church swung the biggest bat by slugging a solo shot off Bryan Woo in the first inning and a two-run homer off Cooper Criswell in the seventh, with a sacrifice fly in between. Church missed a chance to play hero in the ninth, however, grounding into a game-ending double play. The 25-year-old outfielder has four home runs on the season, and three of them have come in the last four games, boosting his slash line to .254/.300/.460 with three steals, 11 runs and 12 RBI in 23 contests.
Riley O'Brien
Riley O'Brien Blows second save
Sat, Apr 25, 2026, 6:21 PM
O'Brien (3-1) blew the save and took the loss Saturday as the Cardinals fell 11-9 to the Mariners, giving up two runs on four hits and a walk in an inning of work. He struck out one and also hit a batter with a pitch.
Analysis: There weren't many St. Louis pitchers who had success Saturday, and O'Brien wasn't immune to the malaise. The right-hander entered the game in the eighth inning with one out and runners on second and third to protect a 9-7 lead, but a Connor Joe single tied things up and stuck O'Brien with his second blown save of the year in nine chances. He then came back out for the ninth and loaded the bases, before a Leo Rivas single put Seattle in the lead for good. The earned runs on O'Brien's ledger were his first of 2026, and despite the stumble he still boasts a 1.26 ERA, 0.77 WHIP and 16:1 K:BB through 14.1 innings.
Matthew Liberatore
Matthew Liberatore Can't keep ball in yard Saturday
Sat, Apr 25, 2026, 6:16 PM
Liberatore came away with a no-decision in Saturday's 11-9 loss to the Mariners, coughing up five runs on eight hits -- including three home runs -- and a walk over 3.1 innings. He struck out three.
Analysis: The two teams combined for eight homers on the afternoon, with Liberatore doing his part to fuel the offensive eruption before getting the hook after 64 pitches (47 strikes). It was the first time this season the southpaw has failed to last at least five innings in a start, but he's served up eight long balls in total over just 30.1 innings, leaving him with a 4.75 ERA, 1.55 WHIP and 19:11 K:BB. Liberatore will look for his first win of 2026 in his next outing, which lines up to come at home next weekend against the Dodgers.
Pedro Pages
Pedro Pages Exits with hamstring injury
Sat, Apr 25, 2026, 4:14 PM
Pages was removed from Saturday's game against the Mariners with left hamstring tightness, Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
Analysis: Pages went 3-for-3 with a two-run homer and a walk before his hamstring forced him out of the game in the seventh inning. The Cardinals haven't provided any information on the severity of his injury, though they could be waiting for imaging results before sharing those details. Ivan Herrera and Yohel Pozo would be contenders to pick up starts behind the plate if Pages has to miss any additional starts.
Andre Pallante
Andre Pallante Racks up eight strikeouts in loss
Fri, Apr 24, 2026, 10:37 PM
Pallante (2-2) allowed three runs on four hits and three walks while striking out eight over 5.1 innings to take the loss versus the Mariners on Friday.
Analysis: Pallante had a fine performance, but the solo home run he gave up to Josh Naylor in the sixth inning ended up being the difference. The eight strikeouts were a season high for Pallante, but he's also walked at least three batters in four of his five starts, and he's yet to complete six frames in any outing this year. That puts him at a 4.26 ERA, 1.42 WHIP and 20:14 K:BB through 25.1 innings. If Pallante keeps limiting damage, he's a fine back-end starter, but that will be tough to do if the walk rate remains at a lofty 5.0 BB/9. The right-hander's next start is projected to be on the road in Pittsburgh.
Victor Scott II
Victor Scott II Not in Friday's lineup
Fri, Apr 24, 2026, 2:23 PM
Scott is absent from the lineup for Friday's game versus the Mariners.
Analysis: Scott has been in an extended slump at the plate, as he's hitless across his last seven games and is just 5-for-45 at the dish since the calendar flipped to April. Nathan Church will slide over to start in center field, while Jose Fermin gets the call in left field for the Cardinals.
Masyn Winn
Masyn Winn Regular treatment for back issues
Thu, Apr 23, 2026, 9:00 AM
Winn "continues to undergo preventative care" for a lower-back issue, Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
Analysis: Winn spent some time on the injured list last season with back spasms, and he's also missed time this year with hip and shin issues. The shortstop isn't currently hurt, but the Cardinals "are seeking ways for him to reduce mileage," which could mean more days off like he had Wednesday in Miami. Winn got off to a slow start offensively this season but has been superb lately, slashing .387/.429/.645 during an eight-game hitting streak.
Ivan Herrera
Ivan Herrera Swats third homer
Wed, Apr 22, 2026, 2:52 PM
Herrera went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Wednesday's 4-1 loss to the Marlins.
Analysis: The 25-year-old spoiled Miami's combined shutout bid by taking Lake Bachar deep in the ninth inning. Herrera's bat is heating up -- he's hit safely in eight of the last 10 games, batting .263 (10-for-38) with all three of his long balls on the season along with six RBI and seven runs. He needs one more game played at catcher to reach 10 and gain eligibility at the position in common fantasy formats. That could happen as soon as Friday with Andre Pallante taking the mound versus Seattle, with Herrera having caught his four previous starts this year.
Kyle Leahy
Kyle Leahy Sunk by Marlins
Wed, Apr 22, 2026, 2:46 PM
Leahy (2-3) took the loss Wednesday, giving up four runs on eight hits and three walks over five innings as the Cardinals fell 4-1 to the Marlins. He struck out two.
Analysis: All eight hits off the right-hander were singles as Miami batters played small ball, but Leahy also helped create some of his own problems as he walked home a run in the second inning. He exited the mound after 89 pitches (50 strikes) and has failed to finish six frames in his first five starts of the year. Leahy will take a 5.63 ERA, 1.67 WHIP and 15:11 K:BB through 24 innings into his next start, which lines up to come on the road early next week in Pittsburgh.
Hunter Dobbins
Hunter Dobbins In line to serve as sixth starter
Wed, Apr 22, 2026, 2:08 PM
The Cardinals are likely to insert Dobbins (knee) as part of a six-man rotation during their stretch of 17 games without an off day that begins Friday, Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
Analysis: Coming back from last year's ACL surgery, Dobbins is slated to make a fifth rehab start with Triple-A Memphis on Saturday. That would put him in line to make his Cardinals debut as soon as April 30 in Pittsburgh, and he appears likely to receive multiple turns as the club looks to keep their rotation members rested. Acquired over the offseason from the Red Sox in the Willson Contreras trade, Dobbins holds a 3.86 ERA and 16:4 K:BB over 18.2 frames covering his first four rehab outings with Memphis.
