Ryan Fernandez
Ryan Fernandez Eyeing rehab assignment this week
Mon, Jun 15, 2026, 3:43 PM
Fernandez (back) is on track to begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Memphis on Friday, Jeff Jones of the Belleville News-Democrat reports.
Analysis: Fernandez has thrown one successful bullpen session since going down with lower-back pain in early June, and he will throw off the mound again Wednesday. As long as that goes well, Fernandez would be cleared for a rehab assignment. Because his absence has been brief, Fernandez shouldn't require many rehab appearances before being reinstated.
Alec Burleson
Alec Burleson Pops solo shot Sunday
Sun, Jun 14, 2026, 5:15 PM
Burleson went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Sunday's 5-4 loss to the Twins.
Analysis: Burleson got the Cardinals on the board when he homered off Taj Bradley in the fourth inning. With a homer in five of his last six contests and an active 14-game hitting streak, Burleson is locked in. During the streak, he has gone 19-for-58 (.328) with 10 extra-base hits and 16 RBI. For the season, the slugger is up to 13 homers, 51 RBI, 39 runs scored, 17 doubles and two stolen bases while batting .287 with an .848 OPS through 68 games.
JJ Wetherholt
JJ Wetherholt Goes yard Sunday
Sun, Jun 14, 2026, 5:12 PM
Wetherholt went 2-for-5 with a two-run home run and an additional RBI in Sunday's 5-4 loss to the Twins.
Analysis: Wetherholt has gone 8-for-26 (.308) over seven games since returning from a brief absence due to groin soreness. The infielder played a big role in the Cardinals' offense Sunday, though it wasn't quite enough. He's now hitting .255 on the year while adding a .761 OPS, 10 homers, 31 RBI, 45 runs scored, seven doubles and seven stolen bases over 65 games.
Michael McGreevy
Michael McGreevy No-decision in quality start
Sun, Jun 14, 2026, 5:09 PM
McGreevy allowed two runs on seven hits and two walks while striking out two over six innings in a no-decision versus the Twins on Sunday.
Analysis: McGreevy left the game with a lead, but JoJo Romero and George Soriano combined to let it slip away over the seventh and eighth innings. This was McGreevy's third quality start in a row, and he's allowed six runs over 18 innings with an 8:4 K:BB in June. Overall, he has a 2.99 ERA, 1.11 WHIP and 51:19 K:BB through 78.1 innings over 14 starts. McGreevy never really showed much strikeout potential in his developmental years, but he continues to do fairly well at inducing groundballs and limiting walks. His next start is projected to be at Kansas City.
Jimmy Crooks
Jimmy Crooks Idle Sunday
Sun, Jun 14, 2026, 1:48 PM
Crooks is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Twins.
Analysis: Crooks will be held out of the lineup for the second straight day while the Cardinals go with Ivan Herrera behind the plate for the series finale, after Pedro Pages had handled catching duties in Saturday's 9-6 win. Since being called up from Triple-A Memphis on May 29, Crooks has gone 5-for-25 (.200 average) with one home run, four RBI and two runs.
Masyn Winn
Masyn Winn Taking seat Sunday
Sun, Jun 14, 2026, 1:46 PM
Winn is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Twins.
Analysis: Rookie JJ Wetherholt will slide over from his usual spot at second base to make his first MLB start at shortstop while Winn rests in the series finale. Winn had started in each of St. Louis' last five games, going 3-for-20 with a double, a stolen base, two walks, four runs and two RBI during that stretch.
Blaze Jordan
Blaze Jordan Belts first career homer
Sun, Jun 14, 2026, 6:07 AM
Jordan went 2-for-4 with a triple, a three-run home run and a second run scored in Saturday's 9-6 win over the Twins.
Analysis: After a 2-for-4 performance in his big-league debut Friday with a pair of singles, Jordan began flashing his power potential Saturday, leading off the second inning with a triple before crushing a Travis Adams fastball 418 feet to center field in the seventh inning to cap a five-run, three-homer frame for the Cardinals. Jordan was slashing .313/.373/.548 over 57 Triple-A games when he got the call to the majors, and the 23-year-old is making a strong early claim to the starting job at third base.
Ivan Herrera
Ivan Herrera Goes yard twice in Saturday's win
Sun, Jun 14, 2026, 6:01 AM
Herrera went 2-for-3 with a walk, two home runs and three RBI in Saturday's 9-6 win over the Twins.
Analysis: The 26-year-old catcher snapped an 18-game power drought with his first multi-homer performance of the season, as he launched a two-run homer off Connor Prielipp in the first inning and a solo blast in the seventh off Justin Lawrence. Herrera has been an on-base machine so far in June, batting .324 (12-for-37) over the last 10 games with a .479 OBP fueled by six walks and five HBPs. That surge has boosted his slash line on the season to .270/.400/.437 with nine homers, three steals, 31 RBI and 46 runs in 68 contests.
Matthew Liberatore
Matthew Liberatore Squanders early lead
Sun, Jun 14, 2026, 5:56 AM
Liberatore didn't factor into the decision in Saturday's 9-6 win over the Twins, giving up four runs on five hits -- including three home runs -- and a walk over 4.1 innings. He struck out four.
Analysis: The Cardinals gave the southpaw an early 4-0 lead after two innings, but Liberatore served up a trio of long balls in the third and fourth frames to tie it up, eventually getting lifted in the fifth after 70 pitches (46 strikes). It's the first time since April 25 he's been taken deep multiple times in a start, but Liberatore's been shaky over the last month even when keeping the ball in the yard, stumbling to a 5.65 ERA, 1.60 WHIP and 36:11 K:BB through 28.2 innings over his last six outings. He'll look to bounce back in his next start, which lines up to come on the road next week in Kansas City.
Jordan Walker
Jordan Walker Plates three runs Friday
Sat, Jun 13, 2026, 9:09 AM
Walker went 1-for-5 with a double and three RBI in Friday's loss to the Twins.
Analysis: Walker had only one knock in this game but it was a big one, as he broke a 4-4 tie in the top of the seventh with a bases-loaded double that scored JJ Wetherholt, Ivan Herrera and Alec Burleson. Walker has at least one RBI in six of his last seven games, a stretch in which he's hitting .364 with a 1.061 OPS. He's also riding a nine-game hitting streak.
Ryne Stanek
Ryne Stanek Gives up three homers Friday
Sat, Jun 13, 2026, 8:50 AM
Stanek (2-1) was charged with the loss and a blown save Friday against the Twins after allowing three runs on three hits (all home runs) across 1.1 innings. He struck out one.
Analysis: Stanek had given up just two home runs over 29 outings and 26 innings this season prior to Friday, but he was taken deep by Kody Clemens, Royce Lewis and Brooks Lee. Clemens was the first batter he faced with two outs and two men on base in the seventh inning, and the Minnesota utility man launched his 10th homer of the season to tie the game. Stanek never regained his composure, allowing solo shots to Lewis and Lee in the eighth frame. Despite this subpar outing, Stanek should continue to be a late-inning option for the Cardinals. He owns a 5.60 ERA but has 11 holds, although he's also gone 1-for-3 in save chances, so ninth-inning duties probably aren't on the horizon for him.
Kyle Leahy
Kyle Leahy No-decision Friday
Sat, Jun 13, 2026, 8:43 AM
Leahy didn't factor into the decision Friday against the Twins. He allowed four runs on eight hits and a walk across five innings while striking out five.
Analysis: Leahy tossed only 49 of his 77 pitches for strikes and wasn't involved in the decision for a fourth consecutive outing. He's given up at least three earned runs in three of those starts, so it's hard to rely on him in most fantasy formats, especially since he's also failed to pitch more than five innings in each of those aforementioned four outings. Leahy owns a 4.30 ERA with a 25:12 K:BB since the beginning of May and is slated to make his next start at home against the Padres.
Ramon Urias
Ramon Urias Moved to 60-day IL
Fri, Jun 12, 2026, 3:38 PM
The Cardinals transferred Urias (elbows) to the 60-day injured list Friday, Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
Analysis: The transaction frees up a spot on the 40-man roster for the addition of Blaze Jordan. Urias has been out since early May with tennis elbow in his right arm, and he had to be pulled off a rehab assignment last week after developing the same injury to his other elbow. There's no timetable for his return.
Chris Roycroft
Chris Roycroft Rejoins big-league bullpen
Fri, Jun 12, 2026, 3:32 PM
The Cardinals recalled Roycroft from Triple-A Memphis on Friday, Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
Analysis: Roycroft has been unscored upon in seven of his last eight outings at Memphis while showing an uptick in velocity, having averaged 96.8 mph with his sinker in his last appearance. He'll operate in middle relief for St. Louis.
Hunter Dobbins
Hunter Dobbins Jettisoned to minors
Fri, Jun 12, 2026, 3:28 PM
The Cardinals optioned Dobbins to Triple-A Memphis on Friday, Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
Analysis: Dobbins made a couple long-relief appearances and one start for the Cardinals during his stint in the majors. The club had left open the possibility of sticking with Dobbins as part of a six-man rotation for at least another turn, but ultimately it opted to revert back to a five-man setup. Dobbins holds a 3.63 ERA, 1.38 WHIP and 19:7 K:BB across 17.1 innings in the majors this season.
Nolan Gorman
Nolan Gorman Optioned following extended slump
Fri, Jun 12, 2026, 3:24 PM
The Cardinals optioned Gorman to Triple-A Memphis on Friday, Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
Analysis: Gorman is slashing a feeble .194/.279/.318 with a 32.3 percent strikeout rate this season, and he's gone 3-for-50 with a 5:27 BB:K over his last 17 contests. The 26-year-old will attempt to get his swing right at Memphis, but Gorman's days as a regular in St. Louis might be over.
Added to big-league roster
Fri, Jun 12, 2026, 3:20 PM
The Cardinals selected Jordan's contract from Triple-A Memphis on Friday, Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
Analysis: Jordan earned his first big-league promotion by slashing .313/.373/.548 with 11 home runs and a 19:29 BB:K over 57 games with Memphis. The 23-year-old has split time between first and third base at Memphis, and there's a clear opening at the hot corner in St. Louis that Jordan could fill. Jordan is starting at third base and batting eighth Friday in Minnesota in his major-league debut.
Jimmy Crooks
Jimmy Crooks Launches first home run
Fri, Jun 12, 2026, 6:53 AM
Crooks went 1-for-4 with a two-run homer in Thursday's 5-4 loss to the Mets.
Analysis: Crooks put the Cardinals ahead 4-3 in the second inning with his 374-foot blast off Christian Scott, his first long ball this season. Since he was called up May 29, Crooks has been part of a committee behind the plate with Ivan Herrera and Pedro Pages, going 4-for-22 (.182) with a .614 OPS across seven games. Crooks appeared in 15 games with St. Louis in 2025, slashing .133/.152/.244 with one home run.
Hunter Dobbins
Hunter Dobbins Goes 4.1 innings vs. Mets
Fri, Jun 12, 2026, 6:40 AM
Dobbins did not factor into the decision in Thursday's 5-4 loss to the Mets, allowing three runs on seven hits over 4.1 innings. He struck out five without walking a batter.
Analysis: The Mets got to Dobbins early, scoring three runs on a pair of first-inning homers by Bo Bichette and Jared Young, but the right-hander would manage to settle in and hold New York scoreless over his final 3.1 frames. Dobbins has made two starts and four appearances overall for St. Louis this season, posting a 3.63 ERA with a 1.38 WHIP and 19:7 K:BB across 17.1 innings. He would currently line up to face the Padres at home in his next outing, assuming the Cardinals stick with a six-man rotation.
Alec Burleson
Alec Burleson Homers in third straight game
Thu, Jun 11, 2026, 3:13 PM
Burleson went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Thursday's 5-4 loss to the Mets.
Analysis: With his 424-foot blast off Christian Scott in the first inning, Burleson extended his home-run streak to three games and his hit streak to 11. In those 11 games, Burleson has gone 16-for-45 (.356) with a 1.119 OPS. He's boosted his slash line to .290/.356/.486 across 284 plate appearances this year with 11 homers, 48 RBI and 35 runs scored.
