Bryan Woo
Bryan Woo Pitches well but takes loss Tuesday
Tue, Apr 14, 2026, 11:23 PM
Woo (0-2) took the loss against San Diego on Tuesday, allowing three runs on eight hits and one walk while striking out three batters over seven innings.
Analysis: Woo gave up three runs in the third inning but was unscored upon during his other six frames. However, Seattle's offense managed just one run of support, resulting in Woo taking his second straight loss. The right-hander is still looking for his first win despite pitching to a 2.16 ERA over 25 innings across his first four starts. Woo will look for a better result -- and more run support -- in his next start, which lines up to be a home matchup versus the Rangers.
Blas Castano
Blas Castano DFA'd by Seattle
Tue, Apr 14, 2026, 2:01 PM
The Mariners designated Castano for assignment Tuesday.
Analysis: Castano failed to make Seattle's Opening Day roster and has now lost his place on the 40-man roster. Despite the DFA, the 27-year-old had a strong start to the campaign at Triple-A Tacoma, allowing one earned run with a 4:1 K:BB across 6.1 innings out of the bullpen.
Patrick Wisdom
Patrick Wisdom Contract selected
Tue, Apr 14, 2026, 1:51 PM
The Mariners selected Wisdom's contract from Triple-A Tacoma on Tuesday.
Analysis: The 34-year-old joined Seattle as a non-roster invitee in January after spending the 2025 campaign playing in the Korea Baseball Organization, and he'll get a look in the majors with Rob Refsnyder going on the paternity list. Wisdom has enjoyed a strong start to the campaign at Tacoma with nine homers and a 1.145 OPS in 15 games. He isn't likely to see significant playing time with the Mariners but could see some action against left-handed pitching.
Rob Refsnyder
Rob Refsnyder Heads to paternity list
Tue, Apr 14, 2026, 1:43 PM
The Mariners placed Refsnyder on the paternity list Tuesday.
Analysis: The 35-year-old will step away from the team for a few days in order to be with his growing family. Refsnyder, who is hitless through 16 at-bats this season, can spend up to three days on the paternity list and is likely to be back with the Mariners for Friday's series opener versus the Rangers. Patrick Wisdom is taking his place on the big-league roster.
Josh Naylor
Josh Naylor Snaps power drought with two homers
Mon, Apr 13, 2026, 10:29 PM
Naylor went 2-for-4 with two home runs and five RBI in Monday's 6-2 win over the Astros.
Analysis: It was the sixth career multi-homer effort by Naylor, who went deep for the first time this season with his first-inning three-run jack. Naylor also racked up at least five RBI for the seventh time in his career. The first baseman still has plenty of room for improvement, batting .127 with the aforementioned two homers, seven RBI and six walks across his first 63 at-bats.
George Kirby
George Kirby Continues to provide length in win
Mon, Apr 13, 2026, 5:51 PM
Kirby (2-2) earned the win Monday against the Astros, allowing two runs on seven hits and one walk in 7.2 innings. He struck out six.
Analysis: Kirby scattered seven singles Monday, pouring in 69 of his season-high 99 pitches for strikes as well. The star right-hander has been very steady for both the Mariners and fantasy managers alike to begin the new year, working at least six innings in each of his first four outings while recording at least six strikeouts in three of them. Kirby sports a 3.25 ERA, 0.94 WHIP and 22:6 K:BB over 27.2 frames ahead of his next scheduled matchup versus the division-rival Rangers over the weekend.
Bryce Miller
Bryce Miller Looks good in bullpen session
Mon, Apr 13, 2026, 1:51 PM
Mariners manager Dan Wilson said Monday that Miller (oblique) threw a bullpen session Sunday that went "very well," Daniel Kramer of MLB.com reports.
Analysis: Miller has been at extended spring training as he works his way back from a left oblique strain, but he is expected to rejoin the Mariners in Seattle this weekend to be reevaluated by the training staff. It's possible the trainers will deem Miller ready to begin a rehab assignment. The righty hasn't made a game appearance since February, so he will need a few rehab outings before Seattle evaluates his readiness to rejoin the big-league rotation.
Dominic Canzone
Dominic Canzone Out of Monday's lineup
Mon, Apr 13, 2026, 12:16 PM
Canzone is not in the lineup for Monday's game versus the Astros.
Analysis: Right-hander Mike Burrows will toe the rubber for the Astros, but the left-handed-hitting Canzone will be absent from the lineup for just the second time against a righty this season. Cal Raleigh is getting a start at designated hitter and Mitch Garver will do the catching for Seattle.
Luke Raley
Luke Raley Two doubles, two RBI in win
Sun, Apr 12, 2026, 8:22 PM
Raley went 3-for-5 with two doubles, two RBI and a run scored in Sunday's 6-1 win over the Astros.
Analysis: Raley doubled and scored in the third inning, singled in the fifth and smacked a two-run double in the sixth to extend Seattle's lead to 6-1. Raley is slashing .255/.314/.532 with four doubles, three homers, nine RBI, six runs scored and a 2:20 BB:K across 47 plate appearances. Raley homered in each of his first three games of the season but is now up to 11 games without one.
Julio Rodriguez
Julio Rodriguez Steals first base of season in win
Sun, Apr 12, 2026, 8:16 PM
Rodriguez went 2-for-4 with an RBI, one walk and a stolen base in Sunday's 6-1 win over the Astros.
Analysis: After hitting his first home run of the season Saturday, Rodriguez recorded his second straight multi-hit game and third of the season Sunday. He also recorded his first stolen base of the campaign, swiping second in the eighth inning. It's been a tough start to the season for multiple Mariners, including Rodriguez, who is slashing .194/.286/.258 with the one homer, five RBI, six runs scored, one steal and a 7:19 BB:K across 70 plate appearances.
Randy Arozarena
Randy Arozarena Reaches four times in win
Sun, Apr 12, 2026, 8:12 PM
Arozarena went 3-for-4 with an RBI, one walk and two runs scored in Sunday's 6-1 win over the Astros.
Analysis: Arozarena singled home Brendan Donovan to get the scoring started for Seattle in the bottom of the first inning. Arozarena singled and scored in the third and singled and scored again in the sixth. He later walked in the eighth, reaching base a total of four times Sunday. It was his first three-hit game of the season and his fourth multi-hit game. Arozarena is slashing .291/.426/.400 with one home run, seven RBI, 12 runs scored, three stolen bases and a 10:12 BB:K across 68 plate appearances.
Logan Gilbert
Logan Gilbert Strikes out seven to earn first win
Sun, Apr 12, 2026, 8:05 PM
Gilbert (1-2) earned the win against the Astros on Sunday, allowing one run on four hits and one walk with seven strikeouts across seven innings.
Analysis: Gilbert had a 5.40 ERA through his first three starts of the season but was able to get in the win column with a gem Sunday. The right-hander's only mistake was a solo homer allowed to Yainer Diaz in the top of the fifth inning. Gilbert needed just 85 pitches to breeze through seven frames and has lowered his ERA to 4.18 with a 25:4 K:BB across 23.2 innings. Gilbert is in line to next take the mound Friday at home against the Rangers.
Brendan Donovan
Brendan Donovan Rejoining lineup Sunday
Sun, Apr 12, 2026, 1:38 PM
Donovan (illness) will start at third base and bat leadoff Sunday against the Astros.
Analysis: Donovan has been out of the lineup since Wednesday due to the illness, though he also made an appearance off the bench in Saturday's 8-7 win, drawing a walk as a pinch hitter. The 29-year-old's Mariners career is off to a scorching start, as he has three home runs and a 1.040 OPS though 46 plate appearances.
Brendan Donovan
Brendan Donovan Sitting again Saturday
Sat, Apr 11, 2026, 5:38 PM
Donovan (illness) isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against Houston.
Analysis: Leo Rivas will pick up another start at the hot corner Saturday, but Donovan went through infield drills before the game and is expected to return to the lineup for Sunday's contest, per Daniel Kramer of MLB.com.
Brendan Donovan
Brendan Donovan Sitting with illness
Fri, Apr 10, 2026, 4:45 PM
Donovan isn't in the lineup for Friday's game against the Astros due to an illness, Daniel Kramer of MLB.com reports.
Analysis: After going 2-for-11 with a solo homer during Seattle's last series against the Rangers, Donovan will now take some time off to recover from his illness. Leo Rivas will start at third base and bat ninth Friday and is likely to continue to start at the hot corner until Donovan returns.
Miles Mastrobuoni
Miles Mastrobuoni Kicks off rehab assignment
Thu, Apr 9, 2026, 8:36 AM
Mastrobuoni (calf) went 0-for-2 with a pair of walks in his first rehab game with Triple-A Tacoma on Wednesday.
Analysis: Mastrobuoni has finally been cleared for games after suffering a right calf strain nearly a month ago. It's unclear how many rehab games the Mariners will ask the utility player to play, but it figures to at least be a handful.
Bryan Woo
Bryan Woo Stuck with first loss
Wed, Apr 8, 2026, 4:40 PM
Woo (0-1) took the loss Wednesday against the Rangers, allowing three runs (one earned) on five hits and two walks over five innings. He struck out two.
Analysis: Woo pitched well for the most part Wednesday, holding Texas off the board through four innings. However, he'd run into trouble in the fifth, allowing three consecutive one-out hits before allowing a pair of runs on a Connor Joe error. The Rangers would tack on a third run in the frame on a Corey Seager sacrifice fly. While he remains without a win through three starts, Woo's gotten off to another strong start in 2026, allowing just three earned runs on 10 hits and four walks while striking out 17 over 18 innings. He's tentatively scheduled to face the Padres on the road in his next outing.
Luke Raley
Luke Raley Idle against left-hander
Wed, Apr 8, 2026, 12:26 PM
Raley is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Rangers.
Analysis: After starting in each of the Mariners' last four games and going 3-for-14 with a double and a 1:8 BB:K, Raley will retreat to the bench for the series finale. Each of those four starts came against right-handed pitching, but the left-handed-hitting Raley will likely be held out of the lineup more often than not when Seattle faces southpaws. Rob Refsnyder will replace Raley in right field Wednesday while lefty MacKenzie Gore takes the hill for Texas.
Leo Rivas
Leo Rivas Playing time trending down
Wed, Apr 8, 2026, 12:23 PM
Rivas is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Rangers.
Analysis: Rivas had drawn starts at either shortstop or third base in 10 of the Mariners' first 11 games, but he'll remain on the bench for a second day in a row as Seattle closes out its series in Arlington. With J.P. Crawford recently returning from a stint on the injured list and expected to handle a near-everyday role at shortstop moving forward, Rivas' opportunities will likely be limited now that Seattle has all of its key infielders available.
Josh Naylor
Josh Naylor Handed off day Wednesday
Wed, Apr 8, 2026, 12:20 PM
Naylor is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Rangers.
Analysis: With southpaw MacKenzie Gore on the bump for Texas in an afternoon game after a night game, the Mariners will give the left-handed-hitting Naylor his first day off of the season. Connor Joe was called up from Triple-A Tacoma on Wednesday and will immediately enter the starting nine as Naylor's replacement at first base.
