Josh Naylor Sticking with Seattle
Sun, Nov 16, 2025, 7:42 PM
Naylor and the Mariners are finalizing a five-year contract Sunday, pending a physical, Jeff Passan of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Naylor will remain with Seattle after being traded to the team from Arizona in late July. The first baseman compiled a .295/.353/.462 slash line while producing 20 home runs, 92 RBI, 81 runs scored and a career-high 30 stolen bases over 147 regular-season contests with the Diamondbacks and Mariners in 2025. Naylor registered a .299 average with nine homers and 33 RBI in 54 regular-season games with Seattle. The 28-year-old will now hold down the first-base position for the team for a half-decade moving forward.
Randy Dobnak
Randy Dobnak Gets NRI pact from Seattle
Tue, Nov 11, 2025, 1:46 PM
The Mariners signed Dobnak to a minor-league contract with an invitation to spring training Tuesday, Jeff Passan of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Dobnak became a free agent last week after the Tigers declined his option for 2026, and he's now headed to the Pacific Northwest. The 30-year-old spent nearly all of 2025 at the Triple-A level, holding a 5.84 ERA over 18 starts and eight relief appearances. Dobnak will likely begin the 2026 season in the rotation at Triple-A Tacoma.
Ryan Loutos
Ryan Loutos Claimed by Mariners
Thu, Nov 6, 2025, 2:13 PM
The Mariners claimed Loutos off waivers from the Washington Nationals on Thursday.
Analysis: Loutos, a 26-year-old right-hander, made 12 MLB appearances during the 2025 season, split between stints with the Dodgers and Nationals. He posted a 12.75 ERA and a 2.33 WHIP with an 8:8 K:BB over 12 innings. He fared significantly better with the Nationals' Triple-A affiliate in Rochester, posting a 4.32 ERA and a 27:13 K:BB across 25 innings. He'll join the Mariners' 40-man roster.
Cole Wilcox
Cole Wilcox Dealt to Seattle
Wed, Nov 5, 2025, 2:10 PM
The Mariners acquired Wilcox from the Rays on Wednesday in exchange for cash considerations.
Analysis: Wilcox had been designated for assignment by the Rays earlier this week and will now join a new 40-man roster. The 26-year-old spent most of the 2025 season at Triple-A Durham, holding a 3.71 ERA and 57:24 K:BB over 51 innings. It was his first year as a full-time reliever, and Wilcox is likely to begin the 2026 campaign in the bullpen at Triple-A Tacoma.
Andres Munoz
Andres Munoz Club option for 2026 exercised
Tue, Nov 4, 2025, 11:06 AM
The Mariners exercised Munoz's $6 million option for 2026, Francys Romero of BeisbolFR.com reports.
Analysis: Munoz saved 38 regular-season games while posting a 1.73 ERA and 83:28 K:BB over 62.1 innings, so the Mariners made the easy decision to retain him at a bargain rate in 2026. The club also has an $8 million option for 2027 and $10 million option for 2028 on Munoz. The hard-throwing reliever should be one of the best closers in baseball again next season.
Bryce Miller
Bryce Miller Could receive injection for elbow
Thu, Oct 30, 2025, 11:53 AM
Miller will have a follow-up appointment soon with Dr. Keith Meister to determine the next steps for treatment of a small bone spur in his right elbow, Adam Jude of the Seattle Times reports.
Analysis: Miller received a platelet-rich plasma injection in early June after being diagnosed with a bone spur in his pitching elbow. He returned in August and was healthy for the rest of the regular season and playoffs, saying "the best I felt all year" was at the end of the season. Miller is not expected to require surgery, but he could be given a cortisone injection during his follow-up appointment and perhaps an additional one at the start of spring training. The 27-year-old had a disappointing regular season for the Mariners, posting a 5.68 ERA and 74:34 K:BB over 90.1 innings covering 18 starts.
Victor Robles
Victor Robles Getting start in ALCS Game 7
Mon, Oct 20, 2025, 3:32 PM
Robles will start in right field and bat ninth in Monday's ALCS Game 7 in Toronto.
Analysis: It's the first start since ALCS Game 3 for Robles, who is 1-for-12 with a 1:4 K:BB during the series. Dominic Canzone will retreat to the bench for the Mariners in Monday's winner-take-all contest.
Dominic Canzone
Dominic Canzone Exiting starting nine
Mon, Oct 20, 2025, 3:27 PM
Canzone is absent from the lineup for Monday's ALCS Game 7 against the Blue Jays.
Analysis: The left-handed-hitting Canzone had been in the lineup all nine times the Mariners went up against a righty this postseason, but he's just 3-for-27 during the playoffs and will take a seat Monday as the Blue Jays sent right-hander Shane Bieber to the bump. Victor Robles will play right field and bat ninth for the Mariners.
Logan Gilbert
Logan Gilbert Ineffective in Game 6 of ALCS
Sun, Oct 19, 2025, 10:23 PM
Gilbert was tagged with a loss after he pitched four innings, surrendering five runs (four earned) on seven hits and a walk, while striking out three batters in Sunday's 6-2 defeat to the Blue Jays in Game 6 of the ALCS.
Analysis: Gilbert gave up two runs in the bottom of the second inning before later giving up a two-run home run to Addison Barger in the following frame and a solo shot to Vladimir Guerrero in the fifth. The right-hander has now posted a 4.20 ERA and 1.47 WHIP with 14 strikeouts over 15 innings in four appearances, including three starts, with Seattle in the playoffs so far.
Josh Naylor

Sun, Oct 19, 2025, 10:19 PM
Naylor went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Sunday's 6-2 loss to the Blue Jays in Game 6 of the ALCS.
Analysis: Naylor notched a single in the top of the fourth inning before he later launched a two-out solo home run off Trey Yesavage in the top of the sixth. The first baseman is now batting .341 with three home runs, four RBI, seven runs scored and two stolen bases over 44 at-bats in 11 games so far in the postseason.
Logan Gilbert
Logan Gilbert Gets ball for Game 6
Sat, Oct 18, 2025, 3:25 PM
Gilbert will start Game 6 of the ALCS against the Blue Jays on Sunday, Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times reports.
Analysis: As expected, Gilbert will toe the rubber in Toronto on Sunday after giving up three runs (two earned) over three innings in Monday's Game 2 start. Gilbert has a 2.45 ERA, 1.27 WHIP and 11 strikeouts in 11 innings across three appearances this postseason. Trey Yesavage will be starting Game 6 for Toronto.
Julio Rodriguez
Julio Rodriguez Elevated to leadoff spot for Game 5
Fri, Oct 17, 2025, 1:58 PM
Rodriguez will start in center field and bat leadoff in Friday's ALCS Game 5 versus the Blue Jays.
Analysis: The Mariners tweaked their lineup in Game 4 and are shaking it up further for Game 5 after the Blue Jays evened the series Thursday. It's the first time since late July that Rodriguez has batted leadoff for Seattle. Randy Arozarena -- who had batted leadoff in every one of his starts since July 31 -- has been bumped down to the No. 5 spot.
Leo Rivas
Leo Rivas Another start at second base
Fri, Oct 17, 2025, 1:50 PM
Rivas will start at second base and bat ninth in Friday's ALCS Game 5 versus the Blue Jays.
Analysis: For the second straight game, the Mariners are going with Rivas at second base, Jorge Polanco in the designated hitter spot and Dominic Canzone in right field, with Victor Robles retreating to the bench. Rivas went 0-for-2 with a walk in Thursday's Game 4 loss.
Bryan Woo
Bryan Woo Available in relief for Game 5
Thu, Oct 16, 2025, 3:45 PM
Woo will be available out of the bullpen Friday in Game 5 of the ALCS versus the Blue Jays, Tim Booth of The Seattle Times reports.
Analysis: Woo had been a candidate to start Game 5, but the Mariners will instead turn to Bryce Miller for their final home game of the series. The 25-year-old Woo has not appeared in a game since Sept. 19 due to right pectoral inflammation, but he's healthy now and will give Seattle some length in relief, if needed.
Bryce Miller
Bryce Miller Slated for Game 5 start
Thu, Oct 16, 2025, 3:42 PM
Miller will start Friday's Game 5 of the ALCS against the Blue Jays, Tim Booth of The Seattle Times reports.
Analysis: The Mariners will turn to Miller again after he tossed six innings of one-run ball on short rest in Game 1. He will be taking the ball on regular rest Friday and will have Bryan Woo available out of the bullpen behind him to provide length, if needed. The Blue Jays are expected to counter with Kevin Gausman as their Game 5 starter.
Victor Robles
Victor Robles Idle for Game 4
Thu, Oct 16, 2025, 3:33 PM
Robles isn't in the lineup Thursday for Game 4 of the ALCS against the Blue Jays.
Analysis: Robles has gone just 3-for-26 (.115) in the postseason so far, so the Mariners will keep him on the bench Thursday. Dominic Canzone will take over in right field, moving Jorge Polanco into the DH spot and opening up second base for Leo Rivas.
Logan Gilbert
Logan Gilbert Gives up three in brief ALCS start
Mon, Oct 13, 2025, 7:59 PM
Gilbert didn't factor into the decision during Monday's 10-3 win in Game 2 of the American League Championship Series against the Blue Jays. He allowed three runs (two earned) on five hits and one walk while striking out two across three innings.
Analysis: Gilbert dealt with plenty of traffic on the bases in the bottom of the first inning, giving two runs back after his offense spotted him a three-run lead in the top half of the frame. The right-hander would surrender another run in the bottom of the second on an RBI single by Nathan Lukes. Gilbert hurled 58 pitches before his removal, likely indicating that he'll be available either out of the bullpen or for another start later in the series if needed.
Jorge Polanco
Jorge Polanco Puts M's ahead for good in Game 2
Mon, Oct 13, 2025, 7:56 PM
Polanco went 2-for-5 with a three-run home run in Monday's 10-3 victory over the Blue Jays in Game 2 of the American League Championship Series.
Analysis: Polanco proved yet again to be a clutch hitter for the Mariners this postseason, launching a three-run homer in the top of the fifth inning to put his club ahead 6-3. This marks his third long ball of the playoffs, with his previous two coming against Detroit ace Tarik Skubal in Game 2 of the ALDS.
Bryan Woo
Bryan Woo Tentatively in line for Game 5
Mon, Oct 13, 2025, 1:35 PM
Woo (pectoral) is tentatively lined up to start Game 5 of the ALCS against the Blue Jays, Adam Jude of The Seattle Times reports.
Analysis: Woo was not on the Mariners' ALDS roster as he works his way back from right pectoral inflammation, but he is on the ALCS roster and had a successful live batting practice session Monday that he referred to as "a huge positive." If he recovers well from live BP, it sounds as though Woo will start on Friday in Game 5, if necessary. If that happens, he will have gone nearly a month between starts, as Woo's last appearance came Sept. 19 against the Astros.
Andres Munoz
Andres Munoz Notches save in Game 1 of ALCS
Sun, Oct 12, 2025, 11:16 PM
Munoz pitched a perfect ninth inning on his way to a save in Sunday's 3-1 win over the Blue Jays in Game 1 of the ALCS.
Analysis: Munoz was called upon to protect the team's two-run lead in the bottom of the ninth, throwing seven of his eight pitches for strikes while setting down the side in order. The right-hander has now pitched 6.1 scoreless innings, allowing two walks and no hits, while striking out five batters and notching two saves over five appearances this postseason.
