J.P. Crawford
J.P. Crawford Homers in win
Thu, Apr 30, 2026, 6:48 AM
Crawford went 2-for-3 with a pair of walks and a solo home run in Wednesday's 5-3 victory over the Twins.
Analysis: Crawford opened the scoring in the third inning with his two-out homer off Taj Bradley, his second this year. It was also the first multi-hit game for Crawford since April 22 -- he'd gone just 2-for-17 in five games prior to Wednesday. The veteran infielder is now slashing .200./366/.313 with seven RBI, 13 runs scored and a stolen base across 101 plate appearances this season.
Cole Young
Cole Young Three more RBI in Wednesday's win
Wed, Apr 29, 2026, 6:45 PM
Young went 2-for-4 with a double, a run scored, three RBI and a stolen base in Wednesday's 5-3 win over the Twins.
Analysis: The 22-year-old second baseman extended his RBI streak to six games with some late-inning heroics, as he brought home Dominic Canzone with a seventh-inning double before putting Seattle in the lead for good with a two-run single in the top of the ninth. Young's surge has boosted his slash line on the season to .286/.357/.420 through 32 contests with three homers, two steals, 19 RBI and 20 runs.
Andres Munoz
Andres Munoz Nails down sixth save
Wed, Apr 29, 2026, 6:41 PM
Munoz struck out two in a perfect ninth inning Wednesday to record his sixth save of the season in a 5-3 win over the Twins.
Analysis: The Mariners were down 3-2 heading into the ninth, but a three-run rally in the top of the frame set Munoz up with the lead. The right-hander has had a couple stumbles this season, but he's been scored upon in only three of his 13 appearances, posting a 6.00 ERA, 1.33 WHIP and 20:6 K:BB through 12 innings while converting six of seven save chances.
George Kirby
George Kirby Settles for no-decision Wednesday
Wed, Apr 29, 2026, 6:36 PM
Kirby didn't factor into the decision in Wednesday's 5-3 win over the Twins, allowing two runs on eight hits and two walks over 5.2 innings. He struck out five.
Analysis: The right-hander got the hook after 97 pitches (64 strikes) just shy of his fifth quality start of the season, but Kirby was headed for his third loss until the Mariners rallied late. Kirby will take a 3.00 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and 34:11 K:BB through 45 innings into his next outing, which is set to come at home early next week against Atlanta.
Matt Brash
Matt Brash Dealing with side discomfort
Wed, Apr 29, 2026, 4:32 PM
Brash was taken out of Wednesday's game against the Twins due to side discomfort, Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times reports.
Analysis: Brash threw just two pitches in the eighth inning during his appearances Wednesday before leaving the game alongside a trainer. It doesn't seem like the 27-year-old righty is dealing with anything serious, and he'll have a day off Thursday to recover before the Mariners begin their next series against the Royals on Friday.
Matt Brash
Matt Brash Exits appearance with injury
Wed, Apr 29, 2026, 3:23 PM
Brash was removed from an appearance Wednesday against the Twins in the eighth inning with an undisclosed injury, Daniel Kramer of MLB.com reports.
Analysis: Brash threw only two pitches, the second of which that was a changeup that was spiked into the dirt. After a conversation with the Mariners trainer and manager Dan Wilson, Brash walked off the field. Seattle should have more on his status soon. Brash entered action Wednesday having allowed only one unearned run with an 8:2 K:BB over 11.1 innings this season.
Leo Rivas
Leo Rivas Exiting starting nine Wednesday
Wed, Apr 29, 2026, 10:08 AM
Rivas is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Twins.
Analysis: Will Wilson will receive the nod at third base in place of Rivas in the series finale. Rivas had started in nine of Seattle's last 10 games, batting just .129 with zero home runs or steals, four RBI and one run during that stretch. Even while he continues to see steady playing time in the absence of Brendan Donovan (groin), Rivas will hold limited fantasy appeal.
Brendan Donovan
Brendan Donovan Nearing return
Tue, Apr 28, 2026, 5:30 PM
Manager Dan Wilson said Tuesday that Donovan (groin) is expected to return from the injured list during the Mariners' upcoming homestand, Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times reports.
Analysis: Donovan is eligible to return from the IL as of Tuesday, but the M's will give him a few extra days to recover before activating him. The 29-year-old infielder has been going through workouts and baseball activities back in Seattle for the past few days, which suggests he could be ready for the start of the team's weekend series against the Royals.
Cole Wilcox
Cole Wilcox Allows run in loss
Tue, Apr 28, 2026, 4:19 PM
Wilcox threw 1.1 innings and gave up one run on three hits and two walks with one strikeout Monday in the 11-4 loss to the Twins.
Analysis: Wilcox has now surrendered at least one run in his last four appearances on the mound. Carlos Vargas (lat) got moved to the 60-day injured list recently, which clears a path for Wilcox to stay in the majors for longer. The right-hander has been used to pitch multiple innings in five out of his nine appearances this year in more low-leverage situations.
Cleared for return
Mon, Apr 27, 2026, 9:50 PM
Emerson (wrist) went 1-for-4 with a double, two walks and one run scored Sunday against Triple-A Oklahoma City.
Analysis: Emerson had been slowed by a wrist injury suffered earlier in the month, but he managed to return to the starting lineup for Triple-A Tacoma on Friday and has played in three consecutive games. The untimely wrist injury may have prevented him from being promoted to the big-league club after Brendan Donovan (groin) hit the 10-day injured list. However, now that Emerson has returned to health, a call to the major leagues could be on the horizon.
Luke Raley
Luke Raley On bench against southpaw
Mon, Apr 27, 2026, 4:05 PM
Raley is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Twins.
Analysis: Raley will hit the bench for the third time in six games, with each of his absences coming while the Mariners have faced left-handed starting pitchers. He'll cede his spot in the lineup Monday to Rob Refsnyder, who starts in right field and occupies the leadoff spot while Seattle faces off against southpaw Connor Prielipp.
Dominic Canzone
Dominic Canzone Taking seat against southpaw
Mon, Apr 27, 2026, 4:03 PM
Canzone is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Twins.
Analysis: Canzone will hit the bench for the third time in six games, with each of his absences coming while the Mariners have faced left-handed starting pitchers. He'll cede his spot in the lineup Monday to Mitch Garver, who starts at catcher while Cal Raleigh serves as Seattle's designated hitter.
Josh Naylor
Josh Naylor Ready to rejoin starting nine
Mon, Apr 27, 2026, 3:07 PM
Naylor (quadriceps) will start at first base and bat cleanup in Monday's game against the Twins.
Analysis: Naylor didn't play in Sunday's 3-2 win over the Cardinals while he managed a tight quad, but the one day off appears to be all the slugging first baseman needed to overcome the issue. Before taking a seat Sunday, Naylor had been on fire at the dish, having gone 12-for-25 (.480 average) with one home run, two doubles, four stolen bases, four RBI and three runs over his previous seven starts.
Mitch Garver
Mitch Garver Hitless in win
Mon, Apr 27, 2026, 12:46 PM
Garver went 0-for-1 in his lone plate appearance Sunday in the 3-2 win against the Cardinals.
Analysis: Garver came in as a pinch-hitter in the ninth and struck out right after his teammate Rob Refsnyder hit the go-ahead home run. The 2019 Silver Slugger is operating as the primary backup catcher to Cal Raleigh, and has gotten most of his starts against left-handed pitching. The 35-year-old had a rough last two seasons for the Mariners but won the backup catcher job out of spring training, but will not see a ton of playing time due to Raleigh's superior defense behind the plate.
Eduard Bazardo
Eduard Bazardo Earns win in relief
Mon, Apr 27, 2026, 12:04 PM
Bazardo got his first win of the season Sunday when he pitched 1.1 scoreless innings with one strikeout in the 3-2 win over the Cardinals.
Analysis: Bazardo was a revelation out of the bullpen for the Mariners last season ending the year with 73 appearances and a 2.52 ERA and a 82:27 K:BB over 78.2 frames. The right-hander already has appeared in 13 games so far in 2026 despite a bullpen that boasts a lot of big names such as Anthony Munoz and Gabe Speier. So far, Bazardo has been thrown into high-leverage situations accumulating three holds and a win and a loss this season.
Jose A. Ferrer
Jose A. Ferrer Nabs rare save Sunday
Sun, Apr 26, 2026, 6:22 PM
Ferrer notched the save Sunday against the Cardinals, throwing a clean ninth inning.
Analysis: Closer Andres Munoz worked each of the first two games of this series against St. Louis, opening the door for Ferrer on Sunday to claim his first save of the season. The southpaw is likely to continue serving in occasional high-leverage situations as needed, posting a 1.93 ERA, 1.57 WHIP and 10:3 K:BB with two holds over 14 innings.
Emerson Hancock
Emerson Hancock Strong start continues Sunday
Sun, Apr 26, 2026, 6:14 PM
Hancock took a no-decision Sunday against the Cardinals, allowing two runs on seven hits and two walks in six innings. He struck out four.
Analysis: While the right-hander did serve up a pair of home runs and throw only 53 of his 94 pitches for strikes, he still delivered a strong performance overall Sunday. Hancock pitched at least five frames in his sixth consecutive start to open the campaign, and he still hasn't given up more than three runs in any outing yet. Hancock is filling in admirably for the injured Bryce Miller (oblique), producing a 2.86 ERA, 0.98 WHIP and 32:6 K:BB through 34.2 innings, and he'll be looking to continue his success against the Royals next weekend.
Josh Naylor
Josh Naylor Dealing with quad issue
Sun, Apr 26, 2026, 11:57 AM
Naylor is managing quad tightness, Adam Jude of The Seattle Times reports.
Analysis: This explains why Naylor was left out of Sunday's starting lineup against the Cardinals. It's unclear at this point if he's at risk of missing additional time or if he's available off the bench Sunday. Connor Joe is starting at first base in Naylor's stead.
Josh Naylor
Josh Naylor Taking seat Sunday
Sun, Apr 26, 2026, 11:19 AM
Naylor isn't in Seattle's starting lineup Sunday versus St. Louis.
Analysis: Naylor has been heating up of late, slashing .480/.533/.680 with one home run, four RBI and four stolen bases over his past seven games. He fouled a ball off his foot Friday but remained in the lineup Saturday, so for the time being his absence from the lineup Sunday appears to be a routine rest day. Connor Joe is making a start at first base in Naylor's stead.
Bryce Miller
Bryce Miller Completes second rehab start
Sun, Apr 26, 2026, 9:08 AM
Miller (oblique) struck out six and gave up one hit and one walk over three scoreless innings Friday in a rehab start with High-A Everett.
Analysis: After recording just five outs on 33 pitches in his first rehab appearance with Triple-A Tacoma on April 18, Miller moved down a couple levels for his second minor-league start and delivered a much more efficient performance. During Friday's outing, he spotted 35 of his 47 pitches for strikes and induced eight swings and misses while sporting a fastball that sat between 96 and 98 miles per hour. Per MLB.com, Miller is tentatively trending toward a return from the 15-day injured list May 17, which suggests he'll need three more rehab starts prior to being activated. The right-hander has been on the shelf all season while recovering from a left oblique strain.
