Colt Emerson
Colt Emerson Drives in two, swipes first bag
Thu, Jun 18, 2026, 9:15 PM
Emerson went 1-for-2 with a walk, two RBI and a stolen base in Thursday's 3-0 win over Baltimore.
Analysis: In his first plate appearance, Emerson lined a two-run single as part of a three-run frame that ultimately accounted for the game's only scoring. He also swiped his first base of the season in the first inning. The young infielder is batting 5-for-22 (.227) since returning to the lineup on June 11. On the season, Emerson is slashing .235/.309/.529 with six home runs, five doubles, a triple, 16 RBI and 13 runs across 26 contests.
Andres Munoz
Andres Munoz Collects 12th save
Thu, Jun 18, 2026, 8:24 PM
Munoz earned the save Thursday against the Orioles, allowing two walks while striking out one in a scoreless ninth inning.
Analysis: Munoz was handed a three-run lead in the ninth and made things a bit interesting. The right-hander issued walks to Gunnar Henderson and Samuel Basallo, bringing the tying run to the plate, but ultimately closed out the victory to secure his 12th save in 17 opportunities. He's recorded consecutive scoreless appearances for the first time since May 22. Munoz now owns a 5.47 ERA, 1.44 WHIP and a 39:13 K:BB across 26.1 innings.
Bryan Woo
Bryan Woo Dominates Orioles with nine K's
Thu, Jun 18, 2026, 7:36 PM
Woo (6-5) earned the win Thursday against the Orioles, allowing three hits and one walk while striking out nine over seven scoreless innings.
Analysis: Woo turned in one of his best starts of the season, tossing 61 of his 89 pitches for strikes while generating 12 whiffs. The right-hander was overpowering Thursday, striking out five consecutive batters during one stretch and allowing just two baserunners through his first seven innings of work. He returned for the eighth but issued a leadoff walk and surrendered a single, prompting his exit before any damage could be done. The outing continued a boom-or-bust stretch for Woo, who has recorded three starts of six or more scoreless innings over his last six appearances but has also allowed a combined 16 runs in the other three. The 26-year-old now owns a 3.49 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and 88:16 K:BB across 89 innings and should be lined up for a road start against Pittsburgh next time out.
Julio Rodriguez
Julio Rodriguez Taking seat Thursday
Thu, Jun 18, 2026, 1:21 PM
Rodriguez (hamstring) isn't in the lineup for Thursday's game against Baltimore.
Analysis: Rodriguez was forced to make an early exit from Wednesday's game due to hamstring spasms, and he'll take a day off Thursday to recover. With both Rodriguez and Luke Raley (back) sitting with injuries, the Mariners will start Miles Mastrobuoni, Victor Robles and Dominic Canzone across the outfield.
Luke Raley
Luke Raley Expected back Friday
Thu, Jun 18, 2026, 1:16 PM
Raley isn't in the lineup for Thursday's game against the Orioles due to the flu, Daniel Kramer of MLB.com reports.
Analysis: Mariners manager Dan Wilson said that Raley is over the back tightness that caused him to miss the last two games, but the outfielder has since caught a flu bug. Raley is expected back in the lineup Friday. In the meantime, Miles Mastrobuoni, Victor Robles and Dominic Canzone will form Seattle's outfield trio Thursday.
Josh Naylor
Josh Naylor Back in lineup
Thu, Jun 18, 2026, 1:12 PM
Naylor (shin/wrist) will start at first base and bat third Thursday against the Orioles.
Analysis: Naylor missed the Mariners' last two games while dealing with a bruised shin and sore wrist, but both issues appear to have subsided ahead of Thursday's series finale. The 28-year-old has been heating up this month, slashing .250/.308/.500 with three homers, eight RBI and seven runs scored over 12 games since June 1.
Weston Wilson
Weston Wilson Catches on with Seattle
Thu, Jun 18, 2026, 11:25 AM
The Mariners signed Wilson to a minor-league contract Sunday and assigned him to Triple-A Tacoma.
Analysis: Wilson has gotten off to a hot start at the plate since reporting to Tacoma earlier this week, going 6-for-9 with a double, a walk and a pair of stolen bases in his first two games. The 31-year-old had previously spent the start of the season with the Orioles, slashing .231/.348/.333 over 46 plate appearances in 21 games before being pushed off the 40-man roster earlier this month and electing free agency upon clearing waivers.
Bryce Miller
Bryce Miller Part of piggyback plan Friday
Thu, Jun 18, 2026, 9:08 AM
Mariners general manager Justin Hollander said Tuesday that Miller will start Friday's game against the Red Sox and will be piggybacked by Luis Castillo, Adam Jude of The Seattle Times reports.
Analysis: Miller and Castillo both made standalone starts in their last two appearances as part of a six-man rotation, but the two will be deployed in tandem Friday while Seattle shifts back to a five-man setup. The Mariners previously used Miller and Castillo in a piggyback arrangement on three other occasions back in May, with Miller working between five and 5.2 innings in those contests while logging a 1.15 ERA and 0.57 WHIP. Expect Miller to handle a similar workload Friday, as Jude notes that the right-hander will be limited to around 75-to-80 pitches before turning the ball over to Castillo. Hollander relayed that all six of the team's starters will rotate through and have one piggyback outing until the All-Star break, so Miller and Castillo will likely be separated and make traditional starts when their turn in the pitching schedule comes up again next week.
Julio Rodriguez
Julio Rodriguez Removed with injury
Wed, Jun 17, 2026, 10:24 PM
Rodriguez was removed from Wednesday's game against the Orioles with an apparent injury, Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times reports.
Analysis: Rodriguez went 1-for-3 with a run scored and two strikeouts before leaving the game in the seventh inning. The details of his injury remain unknown, but the Mariners should provide some clarity in the near future.
Josh Naylor
Josh Naylor Out again Wednesday
Wed, Jun 17, 2026, 4:16 PM
Naylor (shin/wrist) isn't in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Orioles.
Analysis: As expected, Naylor will miss a second consecutive start following his removal from Sunday's game while he continues to recover from shin and wrist injuries. However, manager Dan Wilson said Wednesday that he expects Naylor to return to the lineup Thursday, per Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times, so the first baseman doesn't seem to be at risk of spending time on the IL. Miles Mastrobuoni will start at first Wednesday and bat ninth.
Luke Raley
Luke Raley Out for Wednesday's game
Wed, Jun 17, 2026, 4:15 PM
Raley (back) is out of the lineup for Wednesday's matchup against Baltimore.
Analysis: Raley will sit for the second consecutive game versus the Orioles since his back tightness has yet to be relieved. The outfield will consist of Connor Joe in left, Julio Rodriguez in center and Victor Robles in right for Wednesday's contest.
Curtis Washington Jr.
Curtis Washington Jr. Sent back to High-A
Wed, Jun 17, 2026, 3:07 PM
The Mariners optioned Washington High-A Everett on Wednesday.
Analysis: Likely because of Everett's proximity to Seattle more than anything else, the Mariners opted to call up Washington from High-A ahead of Tuesday's game against the Orioles to provide the club with some emergency depth in outfield after Randy Arozarena (hamstring) was placed on the injured list shortly before first pitch. Washington didn't get the chance to make his MLB debut in the Mariners' 3-1 win and will now head back to Everett after Connor Joe arrived from Triple-A Tacoma to fill the spot on the active roster that had belonged to Arozarena. Given that he's 26 years old and has produced a modest .674 OPS at the High-A level this season, Washington will likely be designated for assignment the next time Seattle needs to open up a 40-man roster spot.
Connor Joe
Connor Joe Summoned to big leagues
Wed, Jun 17, 2026, 2:18 PM
The Mariners recalled Joe from Triple-A Tacoma on Wednesday.
Analysis: Joe will rejoin the Mariners' active roster as a replacement for Curtis Washington, who was summoned from High-A Everett on an emergency basis to give the team another option in the outfield after Randy Arozarena (hamstring) went on the 10-day injured list. In addition to bolstering the Mariners' depth in the corner outfield while Arozarena is shelved, Joe could factor into the mix for playing time at first base while Josh Naylor (wrist) is day-to-day. Joe played in 18 games for Seattle earlier this season, slashing .182/.308/.333 with one home run and two stolen bases across 39 plate appearances.
Carlos Vargas
Carlos Vargas Likely out until early August
Wed, Jun 17, 2026, 8:20 AM
Mariners general manager Justin Hollander said Tuesday that Vargas (lat) recently began a throwing program and could be ready to return from the 60-day injured list around the Aug. 3 trade deadline, Zac Hereth of 710 AM Seattle Sports reports.
Analysis: Vargas has been on the shelf all season while recovering from a right lat strain, which he sustained in spring training. Even though Vargas projects to serve as a middle reliever and won't need to get stretched out for more than an inning or two, the Mariners are content to have him move through his throwing program slowly. A more definitive target date for his return should become available once he's ready to head out on a rehab assignment.
Will Wilson
Will Wilson Moves to 60-day IL
Wed, Jun 17, 2026, 8:00 AM
The Mariners transferred Wilson (thumb) from the 10-day injured list to the 60-day IL on Tuesday.
Analysis: Wilson has been on the shelf since May 2 due to a fractured left thumb, but he appeared to be closing in on a return after kicking off a rehab assignment earlier this month and going 6-for-16 with two doubles, three walks and a stolen base in five games between High-A Everett and Triple-A Tacoma. He hasn't played since Friday, however, and was pulled off his assignment with Tacoma after experiencing pain in his finger, per MLB.com. He's set to meet with a specialist in the coming days before a decision is made regarding whether he'll require season-ending surgery to address the injury. Even if Wilson avoids a procedure and is able to treat the injury with rest and rehab, he won't be eligible to return to action for the Mariners until June 29 after being shifted to the 60-day IL.
Selected from High-A
Tue, Jun 16, 2026, 8:03 PM
The Mariners selected Washington's contract from High-A Everett on Tuesday, Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times reports.
Analysis: With Randy Arozarena (hamstring) and Luke Raley (back) both sitting out Tuesday with injuries, the Mariners will promote Washington from High-A all the way to the majors to give depth to their outfield unit. The 26-year-old has slashed just .190/.280/.394 at Everett this season and is unlikely to play outside of an emergency.
Randy Arozarena
Randy Arozarena Placed on injured list
Tue, Jun 16, 2026, 7:54 PM
The Mariners placed Arozarena on the 10-day injured list Tuesday with left hamstring inflammation, Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times reports.
Analysis: The Mariners originally anticipated Arozarena would return to the starting lineup as soon as Wednesday. However, an MRI on his hamstring revealed more inflammation than the team was expecting, so he will have to spend time on the injured list. Rob Refsnyder is a likely candidate to receive more playing time while Arozarena is out, and the Mariners will select Curtis Washington from High-A Everett to provide emergency bench depth.
Connor Joe
Connor Joe Expected to be called up Wednesday
Tue, Jun 16, 2026, 7:54 PM
Joe is expected to be called up from Triple-A Tacoma on Wednesday, Adam Jude of The Seattle Times reports.
Analysis: Joe was scratched from Tacoma's lineup Tuesday as he prepares to return to the major-league roster after being sent down to Triple-A on May 22. The outfielder will help replace Randy Arozarena (hamstring) after Arozarena was placed on the 10-day injured list Tuesday. Joe has posted a .182 average with one home run, three RBI, two runs scored and two stolen bases over 33 at-bats in 18 contests with Seattle so far this year.
Cooper Criswell
Cooper Criswell Targeting early-August return
Tue, Jun 16, 2026, 7:40 PM
Criswell was diagnosed with a Grade 1-plus pectoral strain Tuesday, Daniel Kramer of MLB.com reports.
Analysis: Criswell initially landed on the injured list last Tuesday with a shoulder strain, but further testing determined the issue to be in his pec. He's scheduled to undergo another MRI in 3-to-4 weeks, at which point he may be cleared to begin a throwing program. If all goes according to plan, the Mariners expect to activate the 29-year-old reliever sometime around the Aug. 3 trade deadline.
Brendan Donovan
Brendan Donovan Starts running progression
Tue, Jun 16, 2026, 7:21 PM
Donovan (groin) began a running progression Tuesday, Daniel Kramer of MLB.com reports.
Analysis: Donovan has been sidelined since suffering a left groin strain in mid-May, and he's now set to start running again. Based on the injury, the running program is the largest hurdle for the 29-year-old to clear, and it's expected to last between 10 days and two weeks. If all goes well, Donovan would then be in a position to begin a minor-league rehab assignment.
