Randy Arozarena
Randy Arozarena Leads offense in loss Saturday
Sat, Jun 27, 2026, 11:13 PM
Arozarena went 2-for-4 with a three-run home run in a loss to the Guardians on Saturday.
Analysis: Seattle was being shut out until Arozarena connected for a three-run blast in the eighth inning to bring his team to within a run. He absorbed a hit-by-pitch in the following frame to put the tying run on second base, but the Mariners ultimately fell short. Saturday's long ball was Arozarena's first in five contests since being activated from the IL on June 23. He's gone 4-for-17 since his return.
Logan Gilbert
Logan Gilbert Goes seven innings in loss
Sat, Jun 27, 2026, 10:59 PM
Gilbert (6-5) allowed four runs on seven hits and no walks while striking out seven batters over seven innings in a loss against Cleveland on Saturday.
Analysis: All of the runs Gilbert allowed came over the fourth and fifth innings, when the Guardians racked up six of their seven hits against him. The right-hander ultimately retired the final seven batters he faced, but the earlier damage was enough to send him to his first loss since May 16. The four runs Gilbert allowed were also his most since that May 16 outing versus San Diego. He came into Saturday on a dominant roll, pitching to a 1.49 ERA, 0.80 WHIP and 43:10 K:BB over his previous six appearances covering 36.1 frames. Gilbert will look to get back into the win column his next time out, which lines up to be a home matchup against Toronto.
Josh Simpson
Josh Simpson Back with M's
Sat, Jun 27, 2026, 2:35 PM
The Mariners recalled Simpson from Triple-A Tacoma on Saturday.
Analysis: Simpson has coughed up two earned runs in just 2.1 innings with the Mariners this year, but he's turned in a 2.92 ERA and 1.22 WHIP over 12.1 Triple-A frames since making his last big-league appearance May 13. He'll provide Seattle's bullpen with a fresh low-leverage arm, replacing Alex Hoppe.
Alex Hoppe
Alex Hoppe Optioned to Tacoma
Sat, Jun 27, 2026, 2:33 PM
The Mariners optioned Hoppe to Triple-A Tacoma on Saturday.
Analysis: Hoppe will lose his place in Seattle's bullpen after giving up multiple runs in each of his last two appearances, elevating his ERA to 6.38 through 24 innings. Josh Simpson was recalled from Triple-A in a corresponding move.
Emerson Hancock
Emerson Hancock Starting Sunday
Sat, Jun 27, 2026, 12:26 PM
Hancock will start Sunday's game against the Guardians, Shannon Drayer of SeattleSports.com reports.
Analysis: Hancock was originally scheduled to work as the back half of a piggyback plan with Logan Gilbert on Saturday, but the former will now get the opportunity to make a traditional start during Sunday's series finale. George Kirby will be pushed back to Monday's game against the Angels as a result, and it's unknown which two of Seattle's six starters will be used in the team's next piggyback game.
Logan Gilbert
Logan Gilbert Working alone Saturday
Sat, Jun 27, 2026, 12:20 PM
Gilbert will no longer be piggybacked by Emerson Hancock during Saturday's game against the Guardians, Shannon Drayer of SeattleSports.com reports.
Analysis: The Mariners reportedly didn't want to disrupt the rhythm that Gilbert has developed recently, per Adam Jude of The Seattle Times, so they will allow the 29-year-old to make a traditional start Saturday. Hancock is now set to start Sunday's series finale, pushing George Kirby back to Monday's series opener against the Angels. The Mariners' piggyback-laden rotation plans remain very unpredictable and warrant close monitoring through the All-Star break.
Andres Munoz
Andres Munoz Tallies 15th save
Sat, Jun 27, 2026, 11:26 AM
Munoz struck out two batters in a perfect ninth inning to pick up his 15th save of the season in Friday's 3-1 win over Cleveland.
Analysis: Munoz struck out Kyle Manzardo and Brayan Rocchio to lead off the final frame before inducing a groundout from Kahlil Watson to end the game. With a 4.91 ERA through 29.1 innings, the 27-year-old hasn't been as reliable this year compared to past seasons, but he's now thrown five consecutive scoreless innings and earned a save in each of his last five appearances.
Luis Castillo
Luis Castillo Quality start in win
Sat, Jun 27, 2026, 11:18 AM
Castillo (3-6) earned the win against the Guardians on Friday, giving up one earned run on four hits and a walk while striking out four batters across six innings.
Analysis: A first-inning RBI double from Kahlil Watson gave the Guardians an early 1-0 lead, but that ended up being the only run Cleveland would score against Castillo, who allowed just three additional baserunners before departing the game after six innings. Friday marked the 33-year-old's first win since the end of May, as well as his first quality start since his season debut March 30. He'll take a 4.93 ERA and 1.36 WHIP into his next start against the Angels, who have turned in a .758 OPS since the beginning of June.
Bryce Miller
Bryce Miller Strikes out 11 in defeat
Thu, Jun 25, 2026, 2:55 PM
Miller (3-2) took the loss Thursday against the Pirates, allowing three runs on five hits over 5.2 innings. He struck out 11.
Analysis: Miller turned in another excellent outing Thursday, logging a season high 11 strikeouts. However, he'd give up three runs on a pair of homers which proved to be enough to stick Miller with the loss in an eventual 3-1 defeat. Miller now has at least seven strikeouts in each of his last four starts and he's yet to give up more than three runs in any of his first eight outings. Overall, Miller's ERA sits at a pristine 1.97 with a 0.72 WHIP and 54:5 K:BB across 45.2 innings. He's currently in line to face the Angels at home his next time out.
Miles Mastrobuoni
Miles Mastrobuoni Outrighted to Tacoma
Thu, Jun 25, 2026, 12:40 PM
Mastrobuoni cleared waivers Thursday and was sent outright to Triple-A Tacoma.
Analysis: Mastrobuoni was DFA'd by Seattle after going 5-for-23 with 10 strikeouts in eight games with the big club, and he'll officially remain in the organization after passing through waivers unclaimed. The 30-year-old has posted just a .649 OPS at Triple-A this season and will likely spend the vast majority of what's left of the season in the minors.
Dominic Canzone
Dominic Canzone Absent from lineup
Thu, Jun 25, 2026, 9:00 AM
Canzone is not in the lineup for Thursday's contest in Pittsburgh.
Analysis: Canzone returned to the lineup Wednesday following a one-day absence with a right hamstring injury, but he'll be back on the bench Thursday. He did not suffer any known setback Wednesday, so the Mariners are likely just giving Canzone a break for Thursday's matinee. Cal Raleigh is in the designated-hitter slot, and Mitch Garver will grab a start at catcher.
Bryan Woo
Bryan Woo Stumbles vs. Pirates
Wed, Jun 24, 2026, 8:27 PM
Woo (6-6) took the loss Wednesday against the Pirates, allowing five runs on six hits and two walks over four innings. He stuck out four.
Analysis: After holding Pittsburgh hitless through three innings, Woo unraveled in the fourth, where he'd give up four runs on six hits, including two doubles and a triple. It's been a streaky year overall for Woo -- the right-hander has held opponents scoreless across seven innings in two of his last five starts, though he's given up 17 runs over 15.1 innings in his other three outings in that span. Woo's ERA now sits at 4.26 through 16 starts (93 innings) this season with a 1.04 WHIP and 92:18 K:BB. He'll look to rebound his next time out, tentatively slated to come next week at home against the Angels.
Victor Robles
Victor Robles Playing time likely to take hit
Wed, Jun 24, 2026, 3:33 PM
Robles is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Pirates.
Analysis: He had started in eight of Seattle's last nine games, but Robles' run of regular playing time looks to have come to an end. Robles benefited from Randy Arozarena (hamstring), Julio Rodriguez (hamstring), Luke Raley (illness) and Dominic Canzone (hamstring) all missing time of late, but the four players will all be included in the same lineup Wednesday for the first time since June 12. Moving forward, Robles will likely draw most of his starts versus left-handed pitching while filling the short side of a platoon with either Raley or Canzone.
Dominic Canzone
Dominic Canzone Checking back into starting nine
Wed, Jun 24, 2026, 2:10 PM
Canzone (hamstring) will start at designated hitter and bat sixth Wednesday against the Pirates.
Analysis: He'll check back into the starting nine after a right hamstring injury kept him from playing in Tuesday's 3-2 win. The 29-year-old has been holding down a strong-side platoon role at DH for the Mariners this season and has torched right-handed pitching to the tune of a .288/.348/.581 slash line with 11 home runs in 178 plate appearances.
Cole Young
Cole Young Blasts go-ahead homer
Wed, Jun 24, 2026, 8:48 AM
Young went 1-for-3 with a two-run homer in Tuesday's 3-2 win over the Pirates.
Analysis: The seventh-inning homer, Young's seventh of the year, proved to be the decisive blow in Seattle's one-run victory. After a hot start to the month, Young had cooled off at the plate coming into Tuesday's matchup -- he'd gone just 3-for-20 in his previous six games. Overall, the second baseman is slashing .253/.319/.372 with 34 runs scored, 37 RBI and two stolen bases across 321 plate appearances this season.
Cal Raleigh
Cal Raleigh Ends power drought Tuesday
Wed, Jun 24, 2026, 8:43 AM
Raleigh went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Tuesday's 3-2 win over the Pirates.
Analysis: Raleigh got Seattle on the board with his fourth-inning blast off Mitch Keller, his eighth homer this year and first since April 27. Prior to Tuesday, Raleigh had gone just 3-for-18 with no extra-base hits in six games since returning from a month-long stint on the IL. It's been a disappointing season overall for Raleigh after his breakout 2025 campaign -- he's now slashing .164/.258/.317 with 21 RBI and 18 runs scored over 209 plate appearances.
Andres Munoz
Andres Munoz Nails down 14th save
Wed, Jun 24, 2026, 8:39 AM
Munoz struck out the side in a perfect ninth inning Tuesday to record his 14th save of the season in a 3-2 win over the Pirates.
Analysis: The right-hander was at his dominant best, firing 12 of 16 pitches for strikes and popping triple digits on the radar gun with half his offerings, topping out at 102 mph. Munoz has been erratic this season, but he may be finding his form -- he's converted saves in four straight scoreless appearances while delivering a 7:2 K:BB in four innings.
George Kirby
George Kirby Back in win column Tuesday
Wed, Jun 24, 2026, 8:34 AM
Kirby (6-7) picked up the win Tuesday, allowing two runs (one earned) on eight hits and two walks over six innings in a 3-2 victory over the Pirates. He struck out five.
Analysis: The right-hander produced his ninth quality start of the season on 91 pitches (65 strikes), but it took a Cole Young two-run homer in the top of the seventh inning to finally get Kirby back in the win column. He'd gone 0-5 over his prior six starts, stumbling to a 6.27 ERA, 1.58 WHIP and 33:7 K:BB in 33 innings during the losing streak. With that monkey off his back, Kirby will look to build on Tuesday's performance in his next outing, which is set to come on the road this weekend in Cleveland.
Luke Raley
Luke Raley Back in action Tuesday
Tue, Jun 23, 2026, 2:56 PM
Raley (illness) is starting in right field and batting sixth Tuesday against the Pirates.
Analysis: Raley is in the starting lineup for the first time since June 14, as he missed all three games versus Baltimore last week due to back tightness and the flu before the Red Sox started three straight left-handed pitchers over the weekend. The veteran outfielder has been productive this year with 14 homers, 35 RBI, 24 runs and an .801 OPS in 211 plate appearances, but he's racked up just 17 plate appearances versus southpaws and should continue operate as a strong-side platoon player in right field.
Dominic Canzone
Dominic Canzone Not starting Tuesday
Tue, Jun 23, 2026, 2:51 PM
Canzone (hamstring) is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Pirates.
Analysis: Canzone will miss at least one start after departing Sunday's game against the Red Sox due to a hamstring injury. The severity of the injury isn't clear, but the 28-year-old should be considered day-to-day until more information is available. Randy Arozarena (hamstring) is serving as the DH in his return from the injured list.
