Cole Young
Cole Young Swipes first bag in win
Sat, Apr 18, 2026, 10:48 PM
Young went 2-for-3 with a walk, two RBI, one run scored and a stolen base in Saturday's 7-3 win over the Rangers.
Analysis: Young came on strong late, driving in two runs, stealing his first base of the season and scoring a run all in the eighth inning. The 22-year-old has now hit safely in three straight games after going hitless in his previous four. On the season, he's slashing .243/.349/.378 with two home runs, 11 RBI, 14 runs scored and a stolen base across 86 plate appearances.
Luke Raley
Luke Raley Homers in win
Sat, Apr 18, 2026, 10:43 PM
Raley went 1-for-3 with a solo home run, a walk and two additional runs scored in Saturday's 7-3 win over the Rangers.
Analysis: Raley scored a season-high three runs, highlighted by a solo homer in the sixth inning. It continued a torrid start to the season for the 31-year-old, who's now slashing .318/.375/.636 with 10 extra-base hits, 13 RBI and 11 runs scored across 72 plate appearances while drawing his starts against right-handed pitching.
George Kirby
George Kirby Battles for third win
Sat, Apr 18, 2026, 10:30 PM
Kirby (3-2) earned the win against the Rangers on Saturday, allowing one run on seven hits and two walks with five strikeouts over 5.2 innings.
Analysis: Kirby opened with five scoreless frames despite laboring at times and departed an out shy of a quality start after allowing a run in the sixth. It marked the first time in five outings that the 28-year-old failed to complete six innings, and he yielded three earned runs or fewer in four of those contests. Kirby owns a 2.97 ERA, 1.05 WHIP and 27:8 K:BB across 33.1 innings and is slated to face the Cardinals on the road next weekend.
Andres Munoz
Andres Munoz Secures one-out save
Sat, Apr 18, 2026, 10:11 PM
Munoz earned the save in Saturday's 7-3 win over the Rangers, striking out the only batter he faced in the ninth inning.
Analysis: Munoz was summoned in the ninth after Cole Wilcox allowed two runs and loaded the bases, and he struck out Brandon Nimmo on four pitches to quickly slam the door. The 27-year-old surrendered five runs in a non-save situation Wednesday, but he's now kept opponents off the board in six of eight appearances this season. Overall, Munoz owns a 9.00 ERA, 1.86 WHIP and 11:5 K:BB across seven innings but has converted both of his save opportunities in the early going.
Brendan Donovan
Brendan Donovan Considered day-to-day
Sat, Apr 18, 2026, 2:58 PM
Donovan is day-to-day due to left hip discomfort, Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times reports.
Analysis: Donovan tweaked his left hip during Friday's game against the Rangers, which prompted his removal in the fourth inning. He's not in the Mariners' lineup for Saturday's contest, with Leo Rivas starting at third base and batting ninth.
Brendan Donovan
Brendan Donovan Removed early Friday
Fri, Apr 17, 2026, 10:03 PM
Donovan was removed from Friday's game against the Rangers with an apparent injury, Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times reports.
Analysis: Donovan went 0-for-2 at the plate Friday before being replaced at third base in the fourth inning. It's currently unclear what he is dealing with, but the Mariners should provide more details on his status in the near future. Leo Rivas entered as Donovan's replacement and would likely take over as Seattle's third baseman if the latter had to miss a start.
Rob Refsnyder
Rob Refsnyder Back from paternity leave
Fri, Apr 17, 2026, 6:05 PM
The Mariners reinstated Refsnyder from the paternity list Friday, Shannon Drayer of SeattleSports.com reports.
Analysis: After spending three days away from the team to welcome a new addition to his family, Refsnyder will return to the Mariners and resume working as bench depth. The 35-year-old has yet to record his first base hit through 16 at-bats this season.
Patrick Wisdom
Patrick Wisdom Lands on IL with oblique injury
Fri, Apr 17, 2026, 6:04 PM
The Mariners placed Wisdom on the 10-day injured list Friday due to a left oblique strain, retroactive to Wednesday.
Analysis: Wisdom may have picked up the injury during his last outing Tuesday against the Padres, when he struck out in his lone plate appearance. Wisdom is eligible to be activated from the IL in late April, though oblique injuries tend to take more time to recover from. Rob Refsnyder (personal) was activated from the Mariners' paternity list in a corresponding move.
Bryce Miller
Bryce Miller Beginning rehab assignment Saturday
Fri, Apr 17, 2026, 5:59 PM
Miller (oblique) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Tacoma on Saturday, Daniel Kramer of MLB.com reports.
Analysis: General manager Justin Hollander said Miller will likely need the full 30 days to build his arm up, according to Kramer. The plan for Saturday is for Miller to throw two innings or 30 pitches. The right-hander missed almost the entirety of spring training and has been throwing for the last couple weeks. It sounds like he could rejoin the Mariners later next month.
Cal Raleigh
Cal Raleigh Two hits, plates run Thursday
Fri, Apr 17, 2026, 6:26 AM
Raleigh went 2-for-4 with an RBI and a strikeout in Thursday's loss to the Padres.
Analysis: Raleigh is enduring a tough start to the season with just two homers and a .539 OPS through his first 20 games. However, he seems to be seeing the ball better of late with five hits over his last 17 at-bats. He's hitting .294 with a .686 OPS over that stretch, and while it's a small sample size, he might be on the verge of turning things around. The star catcher, who blasted 60 homers last season, is simply too good of a hitter to continue struggling as much as he has in the first three weeks of the season.
Luis Castillo
Luis Castillo Tagged with loss Thursday
Fri, Apr 17, 2026, 6:08 AM
Castillo (0-1) was tagged with the loss Thursday against the Padres, allowing four runs (one earned) on seven hits and three walks across 5.1 innings. He struck out three.
Analysis: Castillo came just two outs away from notching a quality start, but the veteran right-hander continues to struggle. After opening the season with six scoreless innings and seven Ks in a no-decision March 30, Castillo has given up 15 runs (11 earned) on 23 hits with a 10:5 K:BB across 12.1 frames in April. He's scheduled to make his next start next week at home against the A's.
J.P. Crawford
J.P. Crawford Resting Wednesday
Wed, Apr 15, 2026, 4:38 PM
Crawford isn't in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Padres.
Analysis: Crawford will grab a seat on the bench Wednesday after going 0-for-3 with a hit-by-pitch during Tuesday's series opener. Leo Rivas will fill the void at shortstop and bat ninth.
Victor Robles
Victor Robles Doing light baseball work
Wed, Apr 15, 2026, 12:32 PM
Robles (pectoral) is participating in light baseball activities, Daniel Kramer of MLB.com reports.
Analysis: The 28-year-old landed on the shelf last week due to a right pectoral strain, and the Mariners are building him back up slowly since it's an injury to his throwing arm. Robles will be eligible to be reinstated Friday but seems likely to require a longer stint on the IL.
Bryan Woo
Bryan Woo Pitches well but takes loss Tuesday
Tue, Apr 14, 2026, 11:23 PM
Woo (0-2) took the loss against San Diego on Tuesday, allowing three runs on eight hits and one walk while striking out three batters over seven innings.
Analysis: Woo gave up three runs in the third inning but was unscored upon during his other six frames. However, Seattle's offense managed just one run of support, resulting in Woo taking his second straight loss. The right-hander is still looking for his first win despite pitching to a 2.16 ERA over 25 innings across his first four starts. Woo will look for a better result -- and more run support -- in his next start, which lines up to be a home matchup versus the Rangers.
Blas Castano
Blas Castano DFA'd by Seattle
Tue, Apr 14, 2026, 2:01 PM
The Mariners designated Castano for assignment Tuesday.
Analysis: Castano failed to make Seattle's Opening Day roster and has now lost his place on the 40-man roster. Despite the DFA, the 27-year-old had a strong start to the campaign at Triple-A Tacoma, allowing one earned run with a 4:1 K:BB across 6.1 innings out of the bullpen.
Patrick Wisdom
Patrick Wisdom Contract selected
Tue, Apr 14, 2026, 1:51 PM
The Mariners selected Wisdom's contract from Triple-A Tacoma on Tuesday.
Analysis: The 34-year-old joined Seattle as a non-roster invitee in January after spending the 2025 campaign playing in the Korea Baseball Organization, and he'll get a look in the majors with Rob Refsnyder going on the paternity list. Wisdom has enjoyed a strong start to the campaign at Tacoma with nine homers and a 1.145 OPS in 15 games. He isn't likely to see significant playing time with the Mariners but could see some action against left-handed pitching.
Rob Refsnyder
Rob Refsnyder Heads to paternity list
Tue, Apr 14, 2026, 1:43 PM
The Mariners placed Refsnyder on the paternity list Tuesday.
Analysis: The 35-year-old will step away from the team for a few days in order to be with his growing family. Refsnyder, who is hitless through 16 at-bats this season, can spend up to three days on the paternity list and is likely to be back with the Mariners for Friday's series opener versus the Rangers. Patrick Wisdom is taking his place on the big-league roster.
Josh Naylor
Josh Naylor Snaps power drought with two homers
Mon, Apr 13, 2026, 10:29 PM
Naylor went 2-for-4 with two home runs and five RBI in Monday's 6-2 win over the Astros.
Analysis: It was the sixth career multi-homer effort by Naylor, who went deep for the first time this season with his first-inning three-run jack. Naylor also racked up at least five RBI for the seventh time in his career. The first baseman still has plenty of room for improvement, batting .127 with the aforementioned two homers, seven RBI and six walks across his first 63 at-bats.
George Kirby
George Kirby Continues to provide length in win
Mon, Apr 13, 2026, 5:51 PM
Kirby (2-2) earned the win Monday against the Astros, allowing two runs on seven hits and one walk in 7.2 innings. He struck out six.
Analysis: Kirby scattered seven singles Monday, pouring in 69 of his season-high 99 pitches for strikes as well. The star right-hander has been very steady for both the Mariners and fantasy managers alike to begin the new year, working at least six innings in each of his first four outings while recording at least six strikeouts in three of them. Kirby sports a 3.25 ERA, 0.94 WHIP and 22:6 K:BB over 27.2 frames ahead of his next scheduled matchup versus the division-rival Rangers over the weekend.
Bryce Miller
Bryce Miller Looks good in bullpen session
Mon, Apr 13, 2026, 1:51 PM
Mariners manager Dan Wilson said Monday that Miller (oblique) threw a bullpen session Sunday that went "very well," Daniel Kramer of MLB.com reports.
Analysis: Miller has been at extended spring training as he works his way back from a left oblique strain, but he is expected to rejoin the Mariners in Seattle this weekend to be reevaluated by the training staff. It's possible the trainers will deem Miller ready to begin a rehab assignment. The righty hasn't made a game appearance since February, so he will need a few rehab outings before Seattle evaluates his readiness to rejoin the big-league rotation.
