Cleared for return
Mon, Apr 27, 2026, 9:50 PM
Emerson (wrist) went 1-for-4 with a double, two walks and one run scored Sunday against Triple-A Oklahoma City.
Analysis: Emerson had been slowed by a wrist injury suffered earlier in the month, but he managed to return to the starting lineup for Triple-A Tacoma on Friday and has played in three consecutive games. The untimely wrist injury may have prevented him from being promoted to the big-league club after Brendan Donovan (groin) hit the 10-day injured list. However, now that Emerson has returned to health, a call to the major leagues could be on the horizon.
Luke Raley
Luke Raley On bench against southpaw
Mon, Apr 27, 2026, 4:05 PM
Raley is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Twins.
Analysis: Raley will hit the bench for the third time in six games, with each of his absences coming while the Mariners have faced left-handed starting pitchers. He'll cede his spot in the lineup Monday to Rob Refsnyder, who starts in right field and occupies the leadoff spot while Seattle faces off against southpaw Connor Prielipp.
Dominic Canzone
Dominic Canzone Taking seat against southpaw
Mon, Apr 27, 2026, 4:03 PM
Canzone is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Twins.
Analysis: Canzone will hit the bench for the third time in six games, with each of his absences coming while the Mariners have faced left-handed starting pitchers. He'll cede his spot in the lineup Monday to Mitch Garver, who starts at catcher while Cal Raleigh serves as Seattle's designated hitter.
Josh Naylor
Josh Naylor Ready to rejoin starting nine
Mon, Apr 27, 2026, 3:07 PM
Naylor (quadriceps) will start at first base and bat cleanup in Monday's game against the Twins.
Analysis: Naylor didn't play in Sunday's 3-2 win over the Cardinals while he managed a tight quad, but the one day off appears to be all the slugging first baseman needed to overcome the issue. Before taking a seat Sunday, Naylor had been on fire at the dish, having gone 12-for-25 (.480 average) with one home run, two doubles, four stolen bases, four RBI and three runs over his previous seven starts.
Mitch Garver
Mitch Garver Hitless in win
Mon, Apr 27, 2026, 12:46 PM
Garver went 0-for-1 in his lone plate appearance Sunday in the 3-2 win against the Cardinals.
Analysis: Garver came in as a pinch-hitter in the ninth and struck out right after his teammate Rob Refsnyder hit the go-ahead home run. The 2019 Silver Slugger is operating as the primary backup catcher to Cal Raleigh, and has gotten most of his starts against left-handed pitching. The 35-year-old had a rough last two seasons for the Mariners but won the backup catcher job out of spring training, but will not see a ton of playing time due to Raleigh's superior defense behind the plate.
Eduard Bazardo
Eduard Bazardo Earns win in relief
Mon, Apr 27, 2026, 12:04 PM
Bazardo got his first win of the season Sunday when he pitched 1.1 scoreless innings with one strikeout in the 3-2 win over the Cardinals.
Analysis: Bazardo was a revelation out of the bullpen for the Mariners last season ending the year with 73 appearances and a 2.52 ERA and a 82:27 K:BB over 78.2 frames. The right-hander already has appeared in 13 games so far in 2026 despite a bullpen that boasts a lot of big names such as Anthony Munoz and Gabe Speier. So far, Bazardo has been thrown into high-leverage situations accumulating three holds and a win and a loss this season.
Jose A. Ferrer
Jose A. Ferrer Nabs rare save Sunday
Sun, Apr 26, 2026, 6:22 PM
Ferrer notched the save Sunday against the Cardinals, throwing a clean ninth inning.
Analysis: Closer Andres Munoz worked each of the first two games of this series against St. Louis, opening the door for Ferrer on Sunday to claim his first save of the season. The southpaw is likely to continue serving in occasional high-leverage situations as needed, posting a 1.93 ERA, 1.57 WHIP and 10:3 K:BB with two holds over 14 innings.
Emerson Hancock
Emerson Hancock Strong start continues Sunday
Sun, Apr 26, 2026, 6:14 PM
Hancock took a no-decision Sunday against the Cardinals, allowing two runs on seven hits and two walks in six innings. He struck out four.
Analysis: While the right-hander did serve up a pair of home runs and throw only 53 of his 94 pitches for strikes, he still delivered a strong performance overall Sunday. Hancock pitched at least five frames in his sixth consecutive start to open the campaign, and he still hasn't given up more than three runs in any outing yet. Hancock is filling in admirably for the injured Bryce Miller (oblique), producing a 2.86 ERA, 0.98 WHIP and 32:6 K:BB through 34.2 innings, and he'll be looking to continue his success against the Royals next weekend.
Josh Naylor
Josh Naylor Dealing with quad issue
Sun, Apr 26, 2026, 11:57 AM
Naylor is managing quad tightness, Adam Jude of The Seattle Times reports.
Analysis: This explains why Naylor was left out of Sunday's starting lineup against the Cardinals. It's unclear at this point if he's at risk of missing additional time or if he's available off the bench Sunday. Connor Joe is starting at first base in Naylor's stead.
Josh Naylor
Josh Naylor Taking seat Sunday
Sun, Apr 26, 2026, 11:19 AM
Naylor isn't in Seattle's starting lineup Sunday versus St. Louis.
Analysis: Naylor has been heating up of late, slashing .480/.533/.680 with one home run, four RBI and four stolen bases over his past seven games. He fouled a ball off his foot Friday but remained in the lineup Saturday, so for the time being his absence from the lineup Sunday appears to be a routine rest day. Connor Joe is making a start at first base in Naylor's stead.
Bryce Miller
Bryce Miller Completes second rehab start
Sun, Apr 26, 2026, 9:08 AM
Miller (oblique) struck out six and gave up one hit and one walk over three scoreless innings Friday in a rehab start with High-A Everett.
Analysis: After recording just five outs on 33 pitches in his first rehab appearance with Triple-A Tacoma on April 18, Miller moved down a couple levels for his second minor-league start and delivered a much more efficient performance. During Friday's outing, he spotted 35 of his 47 pitches for strikes and induced eight swings and misses while sporting a fastball that sat between 96 and 98 miles per hour. Per MLB.com, Miller is tentatively trending toward a return from the 15-day injured list May 17, which suggests he'll need three more rehab starts prior to being activated. The right-hander has been on the shelf all season while recovering from a left oblique strain.
Josh Naylor
Josh Naylor Swipes two bags Saturday
Sat, Apr 25, 2026, 6:01 PM
Naylor went 2-for-5 with two stolen bases in Saturday's 11-9 win over the Cardinals.
Analysis: He was one of only two Mariners starters who failed to produce either a run or an RBI in the wild victory, but Naylor still found some fantasy value on the basepaths. The first baseman is doing his best to show that his 30-steal campaign in 2025 was no fluke, and through 26 games this season he's gone a perfect 4-for-4 on stolen base attempts. Naylor's also putting a quiet start to the year at the plate behind him, batting .357 (15-for-42) over his last 11 games with three homers, five runs and nine RBI.
Julio Rodriguez
Julio Rodriguez Productive in wild win
Sat, Apr 25, 2026, 5:56 PM
Rodriguez went 3-for-6 with a two-run home run, a second run scored and a stolen base in Saturday's 11-9 win over the Cardinals.
Analysis: The two teams combined for eight homers on the afternoon, and Rodriguez got the fireworks started by crushing a Matthew Liberatore slider into the second deck in left field at Busch Stadium in the first inning. Rodriguez had a sluggish start to the season, but he's quickly shaken it off and over the last 14 games he's batting .352 (19-for-54) with two homers, three steals, seven runs and eight RBI.
Andres Munoz
Andres Munoz Notches save No. 5
Sat, Apr 25, 2026, 5:52 PM
Munoz walked one and struck out one in a scoreless ninth inning Saturday to record his fifth save of the season in an 11-9 win over the Cardinals.
Analysis: The right-hander fired only seven of his 14 pitches for strikes, but Munoz escaped taking any damage after a leadoff walk by getting Nathan Church to ground into a double play. Munoz has blown only one save chance so far this season, but a couple shaky appearances have left him with a 6.55 ERA and 1.45 WHIP through 11 innings despite an 18:6 K:BB. Should he falter at all as Seattle's closer, Matt Brash -- who picked up the win Saturday -- has yet to allow an earned run in 2026 and would be the next man up.
Bryan Woo
Bryan Woo Hammered in no-decision
Sat, Apr 25, 2026, 5:44 PM
Woo didn't factor into the decision in Saturday's 11-9 win over the Cardinals, surrendering seven runs on nine hits -- including four home runs -- over three innings. He struck out one without walking a batter.
Analysis: The two teams combined for eight homers in total, and Woo accounted for half of them before getting the hook after only 53 pitches (39 strikes). The right-hander came into the game having not served up a homer in his first 32 innings of 2026, but a correction was likely overdue considering he got tagged for 26 long balls in 186.2 innings last season. Woo will take a 3.86 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and 27:6 K:BB through 35 frames into his next start, which is scheduled to come at home next weekend against the Royals.
Leo Rivas
Leo Rivas Getting rest Saturday
Sat, Apr 25, 2026, 11:14 AM
Rivas isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Cardinals.
Analysis: Rivas has been starting regularly since Brendan Donovan (groin) went on the IL, but the former has gone just 2-for-23 with a pair of RBI across his last seven games. He'll get a chance to reset with a day off Saturday; meanwhile, Will Wilson will start at the hot corner and bat ninth.
Matt Brash
Matt Brash Extends scoreless run
Sat, Apr 25, 2026, 10:35 AM
Brash delivered a perfect seventh inning in Friday's 3-2 win over the Cardinals.
Analysis: Brash has now held opponents without an earned run through his first 11 appearances (9.1 innings) this season, allowing just three hits and two walks. While his strikeout numbers are down (five total punchouts and one in his last 5.1 frames), Brash has proven to be a trustworthy late-inning option ahead of Andres Munoz in the Mariners' bullpen. Brash's four holds are tied with Gabe Speier for the team lead.
Josh Naylor
Josh Naylor Homer, steal in win
Fri, Apr 24, 2026, 10:49 PM
Naylor went 1-for-3 with a solo home run, a walk, a stolen base and two total runs scored in Friday's 3-2 win over the Cardinals.
Analysis: Naylor's starting to come around, hitting safely in five of his last six games. He's gone 10-for-20 (.500) in that span, which includes both of his stolen bases on the season. He still has some work to do to improve his overall numbers -- his cold start to the year is still weighing him down at a .198 average and .591 OPS across 25 contests. He's added three homers, 11 RBI, seven runs scored and two doubles. Naylor also isn't being as aggressive on the basepaths, which was expected after he went 30-for-32 on steal attempts in the 2025 regular season after previously never having more than 13 attempts in a campaign.
Andres Munoz
Andres Munoz Bounces back with save
Fri, Apr 24, 2026, 10:45 PM
Munoz allowed a hit and struck out two without walking a batter in a scoreless inning to earn the save in Friday's 3-2 win over the Cardinals.
Analysis: Munoz took his first blown save of the year Wednesday versus the Athletics, but he bounced back by converting his next opportunity. He got the job done on 14 pitches (10 strikes) to earn his fourth save in five chances this season. Munoz's season numbers are skewed by a couple of ugly outings -- he's at a 7.20 ERA, 1.50 WHIP and 17:5 K:BB over 10 innings. He hasn't been as dominant as last year, but he's still relatively unchallenged for closing duties at this stage of the season.
George Kirby
George Kirby Collects fourth win
Fri, Apr 24, 2026, 10:41 PM
Kirby (4-2) allowed two runs on five hits, a walk and a hit batsman while striking out two over six innings to earn the win over the Cardinals on Friday.
Analysis: Kirby came away with his fourth quality start in six outings this season, as well as his third straight win. A two-run single by Masyn Winn in the fourth inning was the extent of the damage. Kirby's two strikeouts represented a season low, but this was the second time he's avoided giving up a home run. He's pitched to a strong 2.97 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and 29:9 K:BB across 39.1 innings. The right-hander is projected to make his next start at Minnesota as he looks to keep the good times rolling.
