Luke Raley
Luke Raley Remaining on bench Tuesday
Tue, Jun 30, 2026, 6:18 PM
Raley (forearm) is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Angels.
Analysis: Raley will stay on the bench for a third straight game while he continues to deal with soreness in his non-throwing forearm. Weston Wilson will pick up the start in right field in Raley's stead.
Josh Simpson
Josh Simpson Returns to Tacoma
Tue, Jun 30, 2026, 5:32 PM
The Mariners optioned Simpson to Triple-A Tacoma on Tuesday, Adam Jude of The Seattle Times reports.
Analysis: Simpson will head back to the minors after coughing up one run on two hits and a walk in just two-thirds of an inning during his lone appearance Sunday. Cole Wilcox was recalled from Tacoma to fill the open bullpen spot.
Cole Wilcox
Cole Wilcox Back in big leagues
Tue, Jun 30, 2026, 5:29 PM
The Mariners recalled Wilcox from Triple-A Tacoma on Tuesday, Adam Jude of The Seattle Times reports.
Analysis: Wilcox was sent down to Triple-A in early May and has since turned in a 5.03 ERA and 1.30 WHIP alongside a 24:6 K:BB over 19.2 innings. Despite his subpar performance, he'll return to the big leagues to replace Josh Simpson and add a fresh arm to the Mariners' bullpen.
Dominic Canzone
Dominic Canzone Idle Tuesday
Tue, Jun 30, 2026, 4:18 PM
Canzone is not in the lineup versus Angels on Tuesday.
Analysis: Canzone is absent from the lineup after starting in Monday's 6-2 win against the Angels, in which he went 1-for-4 with a home run. Randy Arozarena has the start as the designated hitter while Victor Robles gets the start in left field Tuesday.
Brendan Donovan
Brendan Donovan Could begin rehab after homestand
Mon, Jun 29, 2026, 5:53 PM
Donovan (groin) ran sprints on the field Monday and will be re-evaluated after the Mariners' homestand to determine whether he's ready to begin a rehab assignment, Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times reports.
Analysis: The Mariners' homestand runs through Sunday, so Donovan is at least a week from playing in games. That timeline seemingly rules him out for a return before the All-Star break, though he could conceivably be ready for the start of the second half if all goes well. Donovan has been limited to just 25 games this season due to a recurring groin injury.
Luke Raley
Luke Raley Remaining out of lineup
Mon, Jun 29, 2026, 5:45 PM
Raley (forearm) remains out of the lineup for Monday's contest versus the Angels.
Analysis: It's the second straight start Raley has missed as he deals with soreness in his left (non-throwing) forearm. He is considered day-to-day. Victor Robles will grab another start in right field for the Mariners while Raley rests.
Dominic Canzone
Dominic Canzone Back in Seattle lineup
Mon, Jun 29, 2026, 5:42 PM
Canzone (hamstring) will start at designated hitter and bat third in Monday's game against the Angels.
Analysis: Canzone missed Sunday's game versus the Guardians while nursing a sore right hamstring. He's still not 100 percent but is feeling well enough to serve as the Mariners' DH, per Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times. Canzone leads Mariners regulars this season with an .891 OPS.
Rob Refsnyder
Rob Refsnyder Lands on IL with knee injuries
Mon, Jun 29, 2026, 5:25 PM
The Mariners placed Refsnyder (knees) on the 10-day injured list Monday, Adam Jude of The Seattle Times reports.
Analysis: Refsnyder has gone 1-for-17 over his last seven games, and his poor performance at the plate may have been partially due to injuries to both of his knees. A minimum stint on the IL has the veteran outfielder in line to return to the majors July 9, though it's unclear whether he'll be back in action before or after the All-Star break. Buddy Kennedy -- who the Mariners acquired from the Giants on Sunday -- will take Refsnyder's spot on the 26-man roster.
Victor Robles
Victor Robles Swipes three bags Sunday
Mon, Jun 29, 2026, 7:18 AM
Robles went 2-for-5 with three stolen bases and a run scored in Sunday's 6-5 loss to the Guardians.
Analysis: Robles doubled his stolen-base count for the season with his three steals Sunday -- he swiped just one bag over 12 games coming into the day while going 4-for-27 (.148). Robles has been limited to the short side of a platoon since returning from the IL in late May, though he could see more playing time in the short term with both Luke Raley (elbow) and Dominic Canzone (hamstring) dealing with injuries. Overall, Robles is slashing .242/.275/.273 with no home runs, two RBI and five runs scored across 69 plate appearances this year.
Buddy Kennedy
Buddy Kennedy Headed to Seattle
Sun, Jun 28, 2026, 9:40 PM
Kennedy was traded from the Giants to the Mariners in return for cash Sunday, Justice delos Santos of The San Jose Mercury News reports.
Analysis: Kennedy was designated for assignment by San Francisco earlier in the day, and he will now join the Mariners organization. The 27-year-old went 0-for-7 with a walk and three strikeouts over seven contests with the Giants in early June. Kennedy has posted a far more impressive .321 average with eight home runs, 33 RBI, 40 runs scored and five stolen bases over 184 at-bats across 48 contests with Triple-A Sacramento, and he'll likely report to Triple-A Tacoma with his new squad.
Emerson Hancock
Emerson Hancock Rebounds in no-decision
Sun, Jun 28, 2026, 6:30 PM
Hancock did not factor into the decision Sunday against the Guardians, allowing one run on five hits and three walks while striking out six over 5.2 innings.
Analysis: Hancock bounced back nicely after consecutive five-run outings, holding Cleveland to just one hit through his first four innings. The Guardians finally broke through in the fifth, opening the frame with three straight singles before a sacrifice fly accounted for the lone run against the right-hander. Hancock exited in line for the win, but Seattle's bullpen surrendered five runs in the eighth inning to erase the lead. He now owns a 3.47 ERA, 1.05 WHIP and 87:22 K:BB across 90.2 innings and is lined up to have his next outing at home against Toronto.
Mitch Garver
Mitch Garver Catching while Raleigh serves as DH
Sun, Jun 28, 2026, 12:38 PM
Garver will start at catcher and bat eighth in Sunday's game against the Guardians.
Analysis: Garver and Jhonny Pereda had been splitting time behind the dish from about mid-May through mid-June while Cal Raleigh was on the injured list, but Garver ended up sticking around with the big club once Raleigh returned from the shelf. Though he'll crack the lineup Sunday while Raleigh serves as the Mariners' designated hitter, Garver is unlikely to see more than a start or two per week in his role as the No. 2 catcher.
Dominic Canzone
Dominic Canzone Resting hamstring Sunday
Sun, Jun 28, 2026, 11:57 AM
Canzonze is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Guardians in order to rest his ailing right hamstring, Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times reports.
Analysis: Canzone missed one game after sustaining the right hamstring injury last Sunday versus Boston, but he returned Wednesday and started three of the past four games. He doesn't appear to have suffered a setback and is instead just resting the hamstring, so Canzone will most likely return to the lineup Monday against the Angels.
Luke Raley
Luke Raley Out Sunday with elbow discomfort
Sun, Jun 28, 2026, 10:28 AM
Raley is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Guardians due to elbow discomfort, Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times reports.
Analysis: Though he played the full nine innings while going 0-for-3 with a walk over four plate appearances Saturday, Raley reportedly tweaked his elbow on a swing at some point during the contest. The Mariners will give him at least one game off to rest, clearing the way for Victor Robles to pick up a start in right field.
Randy Arozarena
Randy Arozarena Leads offense in loss Saturday
Sat, Jun 27, 2026, 11:13 PM
Arozarena went 2-for-4 with a three-run home run in a loss to the Guardians on Saturday.
Analysis: Seattle was being shut out until Arozarena connected for a three-run blast in the eighth inning to bring his team to within a run. He absorbed a hit-by-pitch in the following frame to put the tying run on second base, but the Mariners ultimately fell short. Saturday's long ball was Arozarena's first in five contests since being activated from the IL on June 23. He's gone 4-for-17 since his return.
Logan Gilbert
Logan Gilbert Goes seven innings in loss
Sat, Jun 27, 2026, 10:59 PM
Gilbert (6-5) allowed four runs on seven hits and no walks while striking out seven batters over seven innings in a loss against Cleveland on Saturday.
Analysis: All of the runs Gilbert allowed came over the fourth and fifth innings, when the Guardians racked up six of their seven hits against him. The right-hander ultimately retired the final seven batters he faced, but the earlier damage was enough to send him to his first loss since May 16. The four runs Gilbert allowed were also his most since that May 16 outing versus San Diego. He came into Saturday on a dominant roll, pitching to a 1.49 ERA, 0.80 WHIP and 43:10 K:BB over his previous six appearances covering 36.1 frames. Gilbert will look to get back into the win column his next time out, which lines up to be a home matchup against Toronto.
Josh Simpson
Josh Simpson Back with M's
Sat, Jun 27, 2026, 2:35 PM
The Mariners recalled Simpson from Triple-A Tacoma on Saturday.
Analysis: Simpson has coughed up two earned runs in just 2.1 innings with the Mariners this year, but he's turned in a 2.92 ERA and 1.22 WHIP over 12.1 Triple-A frames since making his last big-league appearance May 13. He'll provide Seattle's bullpen with a fresh low-leverage arm, replacing Alex Hoppe.
Alex Hoppe
Alex Hoppe Optioned to Tacoma
Sat, Jun 27, 2026, 2:33 PM
The Mariners optioned Hoppe to Triple-A Tacoma on Saturday.
Analysis: Hoppe will lose his place in Seattle's bullpen after giving up multiple runs in each of his last two appearances, elevating his ERA to 6.38 through 24 innings. Josh Simpson was recalled from Triple-A in a corresponding move.
Emerson Hancock
Emerson Hancock Starting Sunday
Sat, Jun 27, 2026, 12:26 PM
Hancock will start Sunday's game against the Guardians, Shannon Drayer of SeattleSports.com reports.
Analysis: Hancock was originally scheduled to work as the back half of a piggyback plan with Logan Gilbert on Saturday, but the former will now get the opportunity to make a traditional start during Sunday's series finale. George Kirby will be pushed back to Monday's game against the Angels as a result, and it's unknown which two of Seattle's six starters will be used in the team's next piggyback game.
Logan Gilbert
Logan Gilbert Working alone Saturday
Sat, Jun 27, 2026, 12:20 PM
Gilbert will no longer be piggybacked by Emerson Hancock during Saturday's game against the Guardians, Shannon Drayer of SeattleSports.com reports.
Analysis: The Mariners reportedly didn't want to disrupt the rhythm that Gilbert has developed recently, per Adam Jude of The Seattle Times, so they will allow the 29-year-old to make a traditional start Saturday. Hancock is now set to start Sunday's series finale, pushing George Kirby back to Monday's series opener against the Angels. The Mariners' piggyback-laden rotation plans remain very unpredictable and warrant close monitoring through the All-Star break.
