Adrian Morejon
Adrian Morejon Notches seventh victory
Mon, Jul 13, 2026, 11:58 AM
Morejon (7-2) earned the win over Toronto on Sunday, allowing one run on two hits and one walk while striking out one batter over two innings.
Analysis: Morejon entered in the seventh frame with the score tied 3-3. The lefty reliever retired the side in order in his first inning but allowed a run on two singles and a walk in the top of the eighth. However, the Padres rallied for a pair of runs in the bottom of that frame to move Morejon into position for the victory. Despite being used strictly as a reliever this season, Morejon leads San Diego with seven wins, and he also ranks second on the club with 15 holds. He's compiled a 3.42 ERA, 1.10 WHIP and 58:12 K:BB over 50 innings spanning a team-high 44 appearances.
Ty France
Ty France Drawing third straight start
Sun, Jul 12, 2026, 2:51 PM
France will start at first base and bat sixth in Sunday's game against the Blue Jays.
Analysis: France will receive a third consecutive start and appears to have leapfrogged Miguel Andujar for the final opening in the Padres' regular lineup versus right-handed pitching. Since the beginning of July, France is hitting .250 with three extra-base hits, three RBI and two runs over eight games.
Miguel Andujar
Miguel Andujar Staying on bench Sunday
Sun, Jul 12, 2026, 2:47 PM
Andujar is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Blue Jays.
Analysis: After a run of three consecutive starts against right-handed pitchers during which he went 3-for-9 with three doubles, a walk, two runs and two RBI, Andujar has now been left on the bench for the Padres' ensuing two contests, both of which have also come against righties. The 31-year-old may have to settle for a short-side platoon role while the Padres are seemingly prioritizing Ty France and Sung-Mun Song ahead of him in matchups versus righties.
Luis Campusano
Luis Campusano Scratched Sunday
Sun, Jul 12, 2026, 2:29 PM
Campusano was scratched from the lineup for Sunday's game against the Blue Jays due to abdominal soreness, Jeff Sanders of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.
Analysis: The 28-year-old was penciled in to start behind the plate Sunday but was instead replaced by Rodolfo Duran due to the injury. Campusano will now have five full days to recover before the Padres start the second half of the season Friday in Kansas City.
Ty France
Ty France Pops homer in Saturday's win
Sat, Jul 11, 2026, 11:24 PM
France went 2-for-3 with a solo home run, a second RBI and two total runs scored in Saturday's 8-7 win over the Blue Jays.
Analysis: France hit a sacrifice fly during the first inning and added his solo shot to put the Padres ahead for good in the sixth. This was his sixth multi-hit effort over his last 13 games, a span in which he has gone 15-for-44 (.341) with six extra-base hits. For the season, the first baseman is batting .265 with an .811 OPS, 11 homers, 32 RBI, 23 runs scored, nine doubles, two triples and one stolen base over 69 games.
Mason Miller
Mason Miller Logs 24th save
Sat, Jul 11, 2026, 11:22 PM
Miller allowed a hit and struck out two over a scoreless inning to earn the save in Saturday's 8-7 win over the Blue Jays.
Analysis: Miller was able to lock things down in a game that saw some back-and-forth scoring in the early innings. He's a perfect 24-for-24 in save conversions after this outing. Miller has added a superb 0.93 ERA, 0.80 WHIP and 71:13 K:BB across 38.2 innings.
Walker Buehler
Walker Buehler Short start Saturday
Sat, Jul 11, 2026, 11:18 PM
Buehler allowed four runs on three hits and four walks while striking out one over two innings in a no-decision versus the Blue Jays on Saturday.
Analysis: Buehler and Trey Yesavage both labored in the early innings of this contest. Buehler ended up throwing just 65 pitches (31 strikes) in his shortest start of the season. He heads into the All-Star break on a wicked skid, having allowed 20 runs and six home runs over his last 11 innings. Overall, he has a 5.36 ERA, 1.44 WHIP and 81:35 K:BB through 89 innings over 19 starts.
Heads to San Diego
Sat, Jul 11, 2026, 6:23 PM
The Padres selected Conover with the No. 134 overall pick in the 2026 First-Year Player Draft.
Analysis: A 20-year-old outfielder from Oklahoma State, Conover slashed .357/.476/.625 with 14 home runs and 16 steals in 58 games this spring. He also had as many walks (44) as strikeouts and reportedly has great makeup. Conover is well rounded and could break out in pro ball if he can cut his grounders and pull more flyballs.
Goes to Friars in fourth
Sat, Jul 11, 2026, 5:52 PM
The Padres selected Lavey with the No. 124 overall pick in the 2026 First-Year Player Draft.
Analysis: Lavey, a catcher from George Washington, has a decent chance to catch and has an above-average arm. The lefty-hitting backstop slashed .339/.462/.526 with eight home runs and more walks than strikeouts this spring.
Popped by Royals
Sat, Jul 11, 2026, 5:19 PM
The Royals selected Lynch with the No. 97 overall pick in the 2026 First-Year Player Draft.
Analysis: Lynch has a quality slider and is up to 99 mph with his fastball. A 6-foot-3, 215-pound righty out of North Carolina, Lynch began as a reliever and moved to the rotation this spring. He'll be given every chance to start but could end up making it as a multi-inning reliever.
Matt Waldron
Matt Waldron Activated from IL
Sat, Jul 11, 2026, 4:51 PM
The Padres reinstated Waldron (forearm) from the injured list Saturday.
Analysis: A forearm strain has kept Waldron on the injured list since mid-May, but he has been playing in rehab games at Triple-A El Paso since June 14. The 29-year-old gave up four earned runs while striking out 10 batters in 15 innings across five appearances during his time in the minors. The Padres don't currently have a spot open for him in the rotation, so he figures to work out of the bullpen as a long reliever for the time being.
Jhony Brito
Jhony Brito Sent down to El Paso
Sat, Jul 11, 2026, 4:45 PM
The Padres optioned Brito to Triple-A El Paso on Saturday.
Analysis: Brito joined the active roster Tuesday after spending the first few months of the season on the injured list, but he'll now be pushed back to Triple-A in order to make room for Matt Waldron's (forearm) return from the IL. Brito conceded two earned runs in 4.1 innings during his two appearances with the big club, and he could be an option to return to San Diego later in the season to provide length out of the bullpen.
Canadian goes in Round 2
Sat, Jul 11, 2026, 4:08 PM
The Padres selected Lascelles with the No. 60 overall pick in the 2026 First-Year Player Draft.
Analysis: The lefty-swinging middle infielder is considered one of the top Canadian position players in the 2026 draft. He has an unorthodox setup in the batter's box and there is uncertainty regarding how much power he'll generate with his legs.
First prep righty selected
Sat, Jul 11, 2026, 2:25 PM
The Padres selected Borthwick with the No. 21 overall pick in the 2026 First-Year Player Draft.
Analysis: Borthwick has significant upside as a 6-foot-6 righty starter, although he was a notable hitter as well in high school. He had a strong commitment to Auburn but figures to turn pro after getting selected in the first round. He gets his mid-90s fastball up to 98 mph with good life and also boasts a plus slider. Borthwick was the first righty from the prep ranks off the board in this year's draft.
Jake Cronenworth
Jake Cronenworth Getting rest Friday
Fri, Jul 10, 2026, 5:12 PM
Cronenworth isn't in the lineup for Friday's game against Toronto.
Analysis: Cronenworth will get a break Friday after going 4-for-15 while collecting a homer, three RBI and two runs during San Diego's previous series against the D-backs. Miguel Andujar will serve as the DH and bat seventh in Cronenworth's absence.
Sung-Mun Song
Sung-Mun Song Resting up Friday
Fri, Jul 10, 2026, 5:09 PM
Song isn't in the lineup for Friday's game against the Blue Jays.
Analysis: After going just 1-for-13 with an RBI and two runs scored in four games against the Diamondbacks, Song will take a seat to begin Friday's series opener against Toronto. Fernando Tatis will move to second base as a result, opening up right field for Jase Bowen.
Luis Campusano
Luis Campusano Sitting Friday
Fri, Jul 10, 2026, 5:06 PM
Campusano isn't in the lineup for Friday's game against the Blue Jays.
Analysis: Campusano will retreat to the bench Friday after going 4-for-8 with a homer and two runs scored during San Diego's last series against Arizona. Rodolfo Duran will fill in behind the plate and bat ninth.
Manny Machado
Manny Machado Back in starting nine
Thu, Jul 9, 2026, 4:36 PM
Machado (foot) will start at third base and bat fourth Thursday against the Diamondbacks.
Analysis: Machado received a day off Wednesday after fouling a ball off his foot in Tuesday's game, but he now seems to be feeling better ahead of Thursday's series finale. The 34-year-old slugger has struggled at the plate for most of the season but has begun to heat up recently, slashing .234/.372/.594 with six homers, 15 RBI and 11 runs scored over the past three weeks.
German Marquez
German Marquez Making another start Sunday
Thu, Jul 9, 2026, 11:28 AM
Marquez is slated to start Sunday's game against the Blue Jays at Petco Park.
Analysis: Though he had been expected to be deployed as more of an opener during his previous start Tuesday against the Diamondbacks, Marquez ended up working five innings and tossing 82 pitches in the Padres' 4-1 win. The veteran right-hander yielded just one unearned run in the victory, striking out four while scattering three hits and three walks. His overall numbers on the season (5.02 ERA, 1.43 WHIP and 24:18 K:BB in 37.2 innings) still leave much to be desired, so despite coming off of a strong performance, Marquez won't make for the most dependable streaming option Sunday.
Freddy Fermin
Freddy Fermin Begins rehab assignment
Thu, Jul 9, 2026, 8:50 AM
Fermin (head) began a rehab assignment with Triple-A El Paso on Wednesday, going 1-for-4 with an RBI.
Analysis: Fermin served as the Chihuahuas' designated hitter, contributing an RBI single in one of his four trips to the dish. The 31-year-old is working his way back from a head bruise and is tracking toward being activated at the start of the second half.
