Zach Brzykcy
Zach Brzykcy Getting sent back down
Thu, Jun 25, 2026, 5:07 PM
The Marlins are going to option Brzykcy to Triple-A Jacksonville prior to Friday's game versus the Cardinals, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.
Analysis: Brzykcy was recalled to the Marlins on Monday, but did not appear in any games. It is the second time during the 2026 season that the right-hander will have been brought up by the Marlins and did not appear in any games before being sent back down. A corresponding move is yet to be revealed, but it is expected to be Max Meyer coming off of the bereavement list to start in Friday's series opener versus the Cardinals.
Connor Norby
Connor Norby Heading to Triple-A
Thu, Jun 25, 2026, 5:00 PM
The Marlins are going top option Norby to Triple-A Jacksonville prior to Friday's game versus the Cardinals, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.
Analysis: Norby has had a dismal June with a .194/.306/.290 slash line across 36 plate appearances. The utility fielder had been seeing a decrease in playing time in June, and now he will try to reset in Triple-A. A corresponding move is yet to be revealed.
John King
John King Pockets fourth win in June
Thu, Jun 25, 2026, 10:08 AM
King (5-1) was credited with the win Wednesday against the Rangers, allowing one hit and striking out one in a scoreless inning of relief.
Analysis: Eury Perez worked 4.2 innings in his return from the IL, and King got the final out in the fifth inning with the game tied 1-1 before the Marlins took the lead for good in the bottom of the frame. King has made nine appearances in June and come away with a win in four of them while producing a stellar 0.93 WHIP, 0.83 WHIP and 7:0 K:BB in 9.2 innings. The 31-year-old southpaw will be hard-pressed to maintain that pace, but King's hardly alone this season in racking up reliever wins at an impressive rate -- Milwaukee's Aaron Ashby leads all MLB pitchers with 10 victories, and Colorado's Antonio Senzatela has eight wins in just 23 relief outings.
Otto Lopez
Otto Lopez Powers offense in Wednesday's win
Wed, Jun 24, 2026, 5:18 PM
Lopez went 2-for-3 with a walk, a two-run home run and a second run scored in Wednesday's 4-2 win over the Rangers.
Analysis: The breakout shortstop ended up supplying the game-winning hit when he took Cole Winn deep in the eighth inning. Lopez has reeled off three straight multi-hit efforts as part of a six-game hit streak, and his .340 batting average on the season continues to pace the majors. At the 80-game mark, he's also delivered six homers, 16 steals, 35 RBI and 51 runs.
Pete Fairbanks
Pete Fairbanks Collects 12th save
Wed, Jun 24, 2026, 5:15 PM
Fairbanks recorded his 12th save of the season Wednesday in a 4-2 win over the Rangers, giving up one run on one hit. He didn't walk or strike out a batter.
Analysis: The right-hander was taken deep by Joc Pederson for a second straight day, but Fairbanks otherwise cruised through the ninth inning on 13 pitches (10 strikes). Despite his success in save chances -- he's converted six straight and is 12-for-14 on the year -- Fairbanks has looked shaky in June, serving up three homers and getting scored upon in four of 10 appearances while compiling a 5.58 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and 11:4 K:BB over 9.2 innings.
Eury Perez
Eury Perez Limited workload in return
Wed, Jun 24, 2026, 5:09 PM
Perez didn't factor into the decision in Wednesday's 4-2 win over the Rangers, allowing one run on three hits over 4.2 innings. He struck out one without walking a batter.
Analysis: Activated from the IL earlier in the day after recovering from a thigh injury that had sidelined him since May 27, Perez was limited to 68 pitches (44 strikes) and fell one out short of qualifying for the victory, as Miami took the lead for good in the bottom of the fifth. The 23-year-old right-hander carries a 4.41 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and 73:28 K:BB through 67.1 innings on the season, but he's given up one earned run or fewer in his last three trips to the mound, and he could be poised for a monster second half if he can stay healthy. Perez should get stretched out to a more normal workload in his next outing, which is set to come on the road early next week in Colorado.
Owen Caissie
Owen Caissie Swats ninth homer
Wed, Jun 24, 2026, 9:59 AM
Caissie went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run in Tuesday's win over the Rangers.
Analysis: He also struck out two more times, but Caissie provided what proved to be crucial insurance runs in the fifth inning when he took Jose Corniell deep on a first-pitch changeup that caught way too much of the plate. Caissie's up to nine homers on the season, and four of them have come over 17 contests in June -- a stretch in which he's slashing .191/.273/.489 with six runs, 14 RBI and a 32.7 percent strikeout rate.
Pete Fairbanks
Pete Fairbanks Stumbles in non-save situation
Wed, Jun 24, 2026, 9:54 AM
Fairbanks gave up two runs on two hits in the ninth inning of Tuesday's 6-4 win over the Rangers. He struck out one.
Analysis: Called in to protect a 6-2 lead, Fairbanks made things interesting by serving up a two-out solo shot to Joc Pederson before hitting Wyatt Langford with a pitch and giving up an RBI triple to Brandon Nimmo. Josh Jung then nearly tied the game on a hanging slider, but instead the ball came up a couple feet short of the fence in center field for the final out. Fairbanks has had a bumpy June, posting a 5.19 ERA, 1.27 WHIP and 11:4 K:BB in 8.2 innings, but he's gone a perfect 5-for-5 in save chances this month while adding a win and a hold in nine appearances.
Dax Fulton
Dax Fulton Headed back to Triple-A
Wed, Jun 24, 2026, 9:50 AM
The Marlins optioned Fulton to Triple-A Jacksonville on Wednesday.
Analysis: Fulton's stay with the Marlins lasted just one week, with the lefty striking out three batters and allowing no hits and one walk over three scoreless innings between his two relief appearances. He'll head back to Jacksonville and will likely move back into the rotation while he gives up his spot on the Marlins' 26-man active roster to right-hander Eury Perez (gracilis), who was reinstated from the 15-day injured list ahead of his start Wednesday against the Rangers.
Javier Sanoja
Javier Sanoja Out of lineup Wednesday
Wed, Jun 24, 2026, 9:34 AM
Sanoja is absent from the lineup for Wednesday's game versus the Rangers.
Analysis: It's a routine day off for Sanoja, who picked up two hits in Tuesday's win over Texas. Leo Jimenez will handle third base for the Marlins in Sanoja's stead.
Joe Mack
Joe Mack Getting breather Wednesday
Wed, Jun 24, 2026, 9:31 AM
Mack is not in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Rangers.
Analysis: He'll receive a well-earned day of rest after starting at catcher in each of the last six contests. Brian Navarreto will grab a start behind the plate in Wednesday's matinee while Mack gets a breather.
Eury Perez
Eury Perez Reinstated ahead of start
Wed, Jun 24, 2026, 9:26 AM
The Marlins reinstated Perez (gracilis) from the 15-day injured list ahead of his scheduled start Wednesday against the Rangers.
Analysis: Though Miami manager Clayton McCullough said that Perez would likely be shelved for around eight weeks after being diagnosed with a right gracilis strain May 29, the right-hander will wind up returning to the big club in just under a month. During his lone rehab start last week with Triple-A Jacksonville, Perez covered 3.2 innings and tossed 51 pitches, so he'll likely be somewhat limited from a workload perspective as he rejoins the big-league rotation. Perez should be ready to handle a more typical starter's workload following Wednesday's outing.
Joe Mack
Joe Mack Homers in win
Tue, Jun 23, 2026, 9:45 PM
Mack went 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBI in Tuesday's 6-4 win over the Rangers.
Analysis: Mack gave the Marlins a lead they wouldn't relinquish with a solo shot in the fourth inning before adding an RBI single in the fifth. The rookie has now gone deep in three of his past eight games, a stretch in which he's hit safely in six contests to go along with five RBI and seven runs scored. He's certainly held his own so far, slashing .259/.317/.405 with four homers, 18 RBI and 18 runs scored across 116 major-league plate appearances.
Heriberto Hernandez
Heriberto Hernandez Goes deep in win
Tue, Jun 23, 2026, 9:35 PM
Hernandez 2-for-3 with a solo home run, a double, a walk and two runs scored in Tuesday's 6-4 win over the Rangers.
Analysis: Hernandez was a consistent contributor all game, highlighted by a solo homer that put the Marlins on the board in the second inning. It continued a strong June for the 26-year-old, who's tallied six of his eight home runs for the year through 16 games this month. On the season, he's slashing .235/.306/.425 with 29 RBI, 17 runs scored and five steals to go along with the aforementioned eight long balls across 170 plate appearances.
Sandy Alcantara
Sandy Alcantara Makes club history in win
Tue, Jun 23, 2026, 9:28 PM
Alcantara (8-4) earned the win against the Rangers on Tuesday, allowing one run on five hits and three walks with four strikeouts over 6.2 innings.
Analysis: Alcantara allowed a run in the second inning and cruised from there, logging his fifth straight quality-start victory in the process. Per Christina De Nicola of MLB.com, he passed Ricky Nolasco to become the Marlins' all-time strikeout leader (1,002) in the seventh frame. The 30-year-old Alcantara will carry a 4.01 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and 81:27 K:BB across 110 innings this season into a road matchup against the Rockies next week.
Max Meyer
Max Meyer Expected back for Friday's start
Tue, Jun 23, 2026, 3:10 PM
Meyer (bereavement) is expected to start Friday in St. Louis, Daniel Alvarez-Montes of ElExtraBase.com reports.
Analysis: Meyer was placed on the bereavement list Monday, but it will not cost him a turn in the Marlins' rotation, as he'll be taking the ball on five days' rest Friday. The righty has had a breakout season in Miami, going 8-0 while collecting a 2.80 ERA and 102:34 K:BB over 90 innings covering 16 starts.
Eury Perez
Eury Perez Confirmed to return Wednesday
Tue, Jun 23, 2026, 3:00 PM
Perez (gracilis) will rejoin the Marlins' rotation with a start Wednesday versus the Rangers, Stephen Strom of Marlins Radio Network reports.
Analysis: Manager Clayton McCullough indicated Monday that Perez would return from the 15-day injured list to start Wednesday as long as he bounced back from a pitch design session with no issues, and that has happened. Perez's absence due to a right gracilis muscle strain lasted four weeks, which is half of the initial projected timetable. He threw 51 pitches in his lone rehab start, so Perez's workload will be relatively limited Wednesday.
Calvin Faucher
Calvin Faucher Tagged with loss Monday
Tue, Jun 23, 2026, 10:42 AM
Faucher (4-4) took the loss Monday against the Rangers, giving up two runs on two hits and a walk in the eighth inning. He failed to strike out a batter.
Analysis: With the game tied 2-2, Faucher got the call but served up doubles to Brandon Nimmo and Alejandro Osuna, with a free pass to Jake Burger sandwiched in between. It's the first time in June that Faucher came away with runs on his ledger, as he began the month with eight straight scoreless appearances. On the season, the 30-year-old right-hander has a 3.58 ERA, 1.56 WHIP and 34:24 K:BB through 32.2 innings with a save and nine holds in 33 games, in addition to his four wins.
Otto Lopez
Otto Lopez Swipes 16th bag
Tue, Jun 23, 2026, 10:39 AM
Lopez went 2-for-3 with a walk, a double, a run scored and a stolen base in Monday's loss to the Rangers.
Analysis: The 27-year-old shortstop swiped his third bag in the last four games and his 16th of the season as he continues to march toward a career-best campaign. Through 19 games in June, Lopez is slashing a sizzling .351/.393/.506 with a homer, six steals, eight RBI and 16 runs, and he leads MLB with a .336 batting average and 103 hits on the year.
Tyler Phillips
Tyler Phillips Logs first quality start
Mon, Jun 22, 2026, 10:06 PM
Phillips took a no-decision Monday against the Rangers, allowing two runs on five hits and three walks in six innings. He struck out four.
Analysis: It was Phillips' finest showing as a starter this year, as he turned in his first quality start Monday. The 28-year-old right-hander also threw a season-high 89 pitches, suggesting he's just about fully stretched out and ready to handle a traditional starter's workload going forward. Phillips, who has a 3.09 ERA, 1.37 WHIP and 49:30 K:BB over 58.1 innings, tentatively lines up to take at least one more turn through Miami's rotation in St. Louis over the weekend.
