Connor Norby
Connor Norby Out of Monday's lineup
Mon, May 25, 2026, 3:20 PM
Norby (elbow) is not in the lineup for Monday's contest in Toronto.
Analysis: Norby had to be lifted from Sunday's game versus the Mets after being hit in the left elbow by a pitch. He is considered day-to-day. With Norby resting, Esteury Ruiz will draw a start for the Marlins in Monday's series opener.
Heriberto Hernandez
Heriberto Hernandez Crushes walk-off grand slam
Mon, May 25, 2026, 9:56 AM
Hernandez went 2-for-2 with a grand slam in Sunday's 4-0 win over the Mets.
Analysis: The 26-year-old outfielder pinch hit for Owen Caissie in the seventh inning of a 0-0 tie and stayed in the game in left field, becoming the hero when he got hold of a Devin Williams changeup in the bottom of the ninth and sent it sailing 416 feet over the center-field fence. It was Hernandez's first career grand slam and his second homer of 2026, and since being called back up to the majors May 7 he's batting .280 (7-for-25) in sporadic action with two home runs, one steal, two runs and eight RBI. With Caissie struggling badly (42.0 percent strikeout rate and a .635 OPS in 46 games), Hernandez could carve out a bigger role if he keeps coming up big.
Pete Fairbanks
Pete Fairbanks Banks second win
Mon, May 25, 2026, 9:49 AM
Fairbanks (2-2) picked up the win Sunday against the Mets, giving up a hit and a walk in a scoreless ninth inning. He struck out one.
Analysis: The Marlins closer did his part to maintain a 0-0 tie in the top of the ninth, and Fairbanks was rewarded for his efforts when Heriberto Hernandez walked it off with a grand slam. Both of Fairbanks' wins this season have come in four appearances since he was activated from the IL a little over a week ago, but on the season the right-hander has a shaky 7.62 ERA, 1.46 WHIP and 20:7 K:BB in 13 innings while converting six of eight save chances.
Hits shelf with wrist injury
Sun, May 24, 2026, 8:05 PM
Triple-A Jacksonville placed Alderman on the 7-day injured list Tuesday due to a left wrist injury, Michael Germanese of Roundtable.io reports.
Analysis: The Marlins haven't provided word on the severity of Alderman's injury, but he may have suffered a fractured wrist after he was involved in a collision at first base with a baserunner last Sunday, per FishOnFirst.com. Prior to leaving that game, Alderman smacked two home runs, bringing his slash line up to .303/.376/.526 over 170 plate appearances on the season. The 23-year-old appeared to be building a case for a call-up to the big leagues, but the wrist issue will take a promotion off the table for the foreseeable future.
Working through shoulder issue
Sun, May 24, 2026, 7:49 PM
President of baseball operations Peter Bendix said Sunday that White is recovering from "a bit of a shoulder thing," Kyle Sielaff of Marlins.tv reports.
Analysis: Triple-A Jacksonville placed White on its 7-day injured list, but Bendix indicated that the injury isn't a long-term concern for the 21-year-old lefty, who is regarded as one of the organization's top pitching prospects. Assuming he's able to rebound quickly from the shoulder issue, White will have plenty of time to build momentum for a potential promotion to the big leagues later on this season. White had compiled a 4.34 ERA, 1.48 WHIP and 25:9 K:BB in 18.2 innings through his first five starts with Jacksonville prior to landing on the IL.
Tyler Phillips
Tyler Phillips Effective in first start
Sun, May 24, 2026, 6:54 PM
Phillips took a no-decision Sunday against the Mets, allowing no runs on two hits and two walks in 3.2 innings. He struck out four.
Analysis: Phillips fared well in his first start of the season, matching a season high in punchouts in his longest outing of the year. The 28-year-old right-hander also worked rather efficiently, throwing 37 of his 59 pitches for strikes, and he'll be trying to reach the 60-pitch marker for the first time in 2026 in a scheduled rematch with the Mets on the road next weekend. Phillips has a 1.07 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 31:18 K:BB over 33.2 innings, but he might be tough to justify as a viable fantasy streamer until his workload increases.
Connor Norby
Connor Norby Leaves with elbow discomfort
Sun, May 24, 2026, 4:10 PM
The Marlins announced that Norby was removed ahead of the sixth inning of Sunday's 4-0 win over the Mets due to left elbow discomfort, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports. He went 0-for-1 at the plate prior to his departure.
Analysis: After being struck in the left elbow by a pitch in the bottom of the fourth, Norby took his base and played an inning in the field before the Marlins opted to pull him from the contest. X-rays appear to have ruled out any structural damage to Norby's elbow, but he could be dealing with enough soreness and swelling that the Marlins opt to hold him out of the lineup for Monday's series opener in Toronto.
Connor Norby
Connor Norby Exits early after HBP
Sun, May 24, 2026, 2:19 PM
Norby went 0-for-1 before leaving Sunday's game against the Mets in the top of the sixth inning after being hit near his left elbow by a pitch earlier in the contest, Kevin Barral of FishonFirst.com reports.
Analysis: Norby was in obvious discomfort after being plunked, but he took his base and proceeded to play an inning at first base before he was replaced by Graham Pauley to begin the sixth. The Marlins will evaluate Norby further before providing additional word on his status heading into the club's three-game series in Toronto that begins Monday.
Javier Sanoja
Javier Sanoja Drawing fourth start in five games
Sun, May 24, 2026, 12:02 PM
Sanoja will start at third base and bat ninth in Sunday's game against the Mets.
Analysis: Sanoja will remain in the lineup for the fourth time in five games and will occupy the hot corner for the second time during that stretch. Third base has been a bit of a revolving door for Miami of late, but Sanoja is still likely to need a sustained run of success at the dish in order to hold off the recently recalled Graham Pauley for playing time at the position. Over 113 plate appearances on the season, Sanoja has produced a modest .250/.310/.346 slash line with one home run and three stolen bases.
Joe Mack
Joe Mack Taking seat Sunday
Sun, May 24, 2026, 11:58 AM
Mack is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Mets.
Analysis: The Marlins will give Mack a break for Sunday's matinee after he started behind the plate in each of the team's previous three games. In Mack's stead, Liam Hicks will receive a turn behind the dish and will form a battery with starting pitcher Tyler Phillips.
Liam Hicks
Liam Hicks Posts first career multi-homer game
Sat, May 23, 2026, 10:22 PM
Hicks went 2-for-4 with a two solo home runs in Saturday's 4-1 win over the Mets.
Analysis: Hicks recorded the first multi-homer game of his career Saturday, taking Mets right-hander Freddy Peralta deep on both long balls. The big flies were also the 26-year-old catcher's first since May 7, snapping a 14-game drought. It's been a breakout year overall for Hicks, who's batting .279 with 11 homers, four doubles and 44 RBI over 186 plate appearances.
Max Meyer
Max Meyer Delivers gem in fifth win
Sat, May 23, 2026, 10:16 PM
Meyer (5-0) earned the win Saturday against the Mets, allowing no runs on one hit and three walks in seven innings. He struck out eight.
Analysis: The 27-year-old right-hander was brilliant on the hill Saturday, permitting a lone innocuous single to Mark Vientos in the second inning. It was already the second time this year that Meyer spun seven frames of one-hit ball, and he fanned at least seven for the fourth time in his past seven outings. Meyer is scheduled to face the Mets again next weekend in Queens, where he'll look to remain unbeaten on the year and build on an impressive 2.52 ERA, 1.05 WHIP and 68:22 K:BB over 60.2 innings.
Tyler Phillips
Tyler Phillips Starting Sunday
Sat, May 23, 2026, 6:23 PM
Phillips will start Sunday's game against the Mets, Stephen Strom of Marlins Radio Network reports.
Analysis: The Marlins sent Braxton Garrett down after just two starts, and it will be Phillips who gets the next shot at replacing Robby Snelling (elbow) in the rotation. The right-hander has pitched well in 2026 with a 1.20 ERA, 1.27 WHIP and 27:16 K:BB over 30 innings, but he has not thrown more than three innings in an appearance this season, so it would be a stretch to think he could get to the five innings necessary to qualify for the win in his first start of the campaign.
Christopher Morel
Christopher Morel Taking seat Saturday
Sat, May 23, 2026, 12:18 PM
Morel isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Mets.
Analysis: Morel has slashed just .163/.212/.204 across 52 plate appearances this month, so the Marlins will keep him on the bench Saturday against tough righty Freddy Peralta. While Morel sits, Liam Hicks will work as Miami's designated hitter, putting Connor Norby at first base and Graham Pauley at third.
Andrew Nardi
Andrew Nardi Pockets seventh hold
Sat, May 23, 2026, 9:56 AM
Nardi struck out two in a perfect inning of relief Friday to record his seventh hold of the season in a win over the Mets.
Analysis: With the Marlins ahead 2-1, Nardi took the ball from Eury Perez with one out in the seventh inning and got Juan Soto to ground out before fanning Mark Vientos and Tyrone Taylor. Nardi's seven holds lead Miami, a benefit of being the top southpaw in the bullpen, and over nine appearances in May he's delivered a 3.00 ERA, 0.89 WHIP and 11:2 K:BB through nine innings.
Michael Petersen
Michael Petersen Picks up fifth hold
Sat, May 23, 2026, 9:53 AM
Petersen gave up a hit and struck out one in a scoreless two-thirds of an inning Friday to record his fifth hold of the season in a win over the Mets.
Analysis: The right-hander got the final two outs in the eighth inning with the Marlins clinging to a 2-1 lead, before he handed the ball off to closer Pete Fairbanks for the ninth. Petersen's five holds are second on the team behind lefty Andrew Nardi's seven, and Petersen has a 3.93 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and 19:7 K:BB through 18.1 innings on the year over 17 appearances.
Esteury Ruiz
Esteury Ruiz Productive night at plate in win
Fri, May 22, 2026, 9:37 PM
Ruiz went 2-for-3 with a double, a triple, one stolen base and two runs scored in Friday's 2-1 win over the Mets.
Analysis: Ruiz doubled in the bottom of the second inning and manufactured the Marlins' first run of the game by stealing third base before scoring on a groundout. It was Ruiz's eighth stolen base of the season. He then tripled and scored in the fourth, accounting for both of Miami's runs in the low-scoring affair. The speedy outfielder is hitting just .216 with a .231 on-base percentage but has a team-high .514 slugging percentage in 39 trips to the plate this season. He has three doubles, one triple and two homers to go with five RBI, 10 runs scored and the eight steals.
Pete Fairbanks
Pete Fairbanks Secures save Friday
Fri, May 22, 2026, 9:31 PM
Fairbanks picked up the save in Friday's 2-1 win over the Mets, issuing one walk with two strikeouts in a hitless and scoreless ninth inning.
Analysis: It's been a rough start to the season for Miami's closer, as he entered Friday having allowed at least one run in three straight outings and at least three runs in three of nine appearances since the beginning of April. Fairbanks struck out the first two batters he faced Friday and closed it with a flyout from Bo Bichette. It was Fairbanks' sixth save of the season to go with an 8.25 ERA and 19:6 K:BB across 12 innings.
Eury Perez
Eury Perez Snaps losing streak with win Friday
Fri, May 22, 2026, 9:25 PM
Perez (3-6) earned the win Friday against the Mets, allowing one run on two hits and no walks with five strikeouts across 6.1 innings.
Analysis: Perez's lone blemish was a first-inning solo homer allowed to Juan Soto. The right-hander faced the minimum the rest of the way before being pulled with one out in the seventh. It was the first time Perez recorded more than 18 outs in a start since Opening Day, and it was just his third quality start of the season. Perez has undeniably electric stuff, but he's been hurt by walks and homers this season, and he came into Friday having lost five straight starts. Friday was his first start of 2026 without issuing a free pass. With the strong outing, Perez lowered his ERA to 4.91 with a 63:28 K:BB across 58.2 innings this season. The 23-year-old will look to build on the performance with a road date in Toronto next week.
Robby Snelling
Robby Snelling Undergoes internal brace surgery
Fri, May 22, 2026, 3:20 PM
Snelling underwent internal brace surgery Friday to repair a torn UCL in his left elbow.
Analysis: The Marlins had indicated previously that Snelling would require Tommy John surgery, so it's a pleasant surprise that he needed an internal brace procedure instead. The operation Snelling had comes with a timetable of 10-to-12 months, which gives him a good chance to be a contributor for Miami at some point next season.
