Max Meyer
Max Meyer No-decision against Seattle
Tue, Jul 7, 2026, 9:32 PM
Meyer did not factor into Tuesday's decision against the Mariners, allowing two runs on four hits and two walks while striking out four across five innings.
Analysis: Meyer opened his start nicely by striking out three of the first four batters he faced. He faced the minimum number of batters through four innings before giving up two runs in the fifth, but his stat line could have looked far worse after loading the bases with no outs in the sixth. Luckily for Meyer, his night ended at two earned runs after Michael Petersen came in and got the Marlins out of the bases-loaded jam. Meyer has given up two earned runs or less in seven consecutive starts, going 4-1 with a 1.96 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and 34:13 K:BB in 41.1 innings over that span. He's slated to start this weekend at home against the Guardians in what figures to be Meyer's last turn in the rotation before the All-Star break.
Owen Caissie
Owen Caissie Goes deep against Seattle
Tue, Jul 7, 2026, 9:27 PM
Caissie went 1-for-2 with a solo home run and a walk during Miami's 6-5 extra-inning win over Seattle on Tuesday.
Analysis: Caissie opened Tuesday's scoring with a 418-foot solo home run to right-center field off Mariners right-hander Bryan Woo. It was the 12th home run of the season for Caissie, who has gone deep in three of his last six games. He has a .239 batting average over 246 plate appearances this season, but Caissie has been better at the plate as of late, going 12-for-38 (.316) with one steal, four homers and 11 RBI over his last 15 games.
Heriberto Hernandez
Heriberto Hernandez Pinch-hit homer Tuesday
Tue, Jul 7, 2026, 9:22 PM
Hernandez went 1-for-2 with a solo home run in the Marlins' 6-5 extra-inning win over the Mariners on Tuesday.
Analysis: Hernandez pinch-hit for Griffin Conine in the eighth inning, and the former answered the call with a game-tying solo home run off Gabe Speier. It was the 12th long ball of the season for Hernandez, four of which have come over his last four games. He has gone 8-for-20 (.400) with six RBI, six runs scored and seven extra-base hits over his last seven games.
Out with broken wrist
Tue, Jul 7, 2026, 9:21 PM
Double-A Pensacola placed Lewis on its 7-day injured list June 27 due to a broken hamate bone in his wrist, FishOnFirst.com reports.
Analysis: The Marlins haven't issued a target date Lewis' return, but the typical timeline for hamate fractures is 6-to-8 weeks. With that in mind, Lewis appears likely to be sidelined through at least mid-August, with his absence potentially extending into September. Before going down with the injury, the 23-year-old outfielder slashed .240/.315/.512 with 17 home runs and 14 stolen bases over 66 games.
Jakob Marsee
Jakob Marsee Walks off Seattle
Tue, Jul 7, 2026, 9:19 PM
Marsee went 2-for-4 with two RBI during the Marlins' 6-5 extra-inning win over the Mariners on Tuesday.
Analysis: Marsee extended Miami's lead to 3-0 with an RBI single in the third inning, but he made his biggest contribution in the 10th with a long, towering single that brought Xavier Edwards home for the game-winning run. It was the fifth time this season that Marsee logged at least two RBI and he's reached base safely in each of his last five games, going 5-for-15 with one home run, three RBI and four runs scored over that span.
Janson Junk
Janson Junk Hits 60-pitch mark in rehab
Tue, Jul 7, 2026, 8:24 PM
Junk (shin) struck out three and allowed one earned run on five hits and no walks across three innings Saturday in a rehab start for Triple-A Jacksonville.
Analysis: The right-hander made his second rehab appearance at Triple-A after he was sent to the 15-day injured list May 31 due to right shin bone inflammation. He built up to 61 pitches (37 strikes) in Saturday's outing and averaged 93.8 mph with his four-seam fastball, about a half-tick behind his season-long average prior to landing on the shelf. Per Kevin Barral of FishonFirst.com, Junk completed a pitch-design session in front of the Marlins' coaching and training staff Tuesday, and if he checks out fine following that workout, he could fill the opening in the Miami rotation in Thursday's series finale versus the Mariners.
Jakob Marsee
Jakob Marsee In Miami lineup Tuesday
Tue, Jul 7, 2026, 1:53 PM
Marsee (knee) will start in center field and bat seventh in Tuesday's game versus the Mariners.
Analysis: Marsee had to be lifted from Sunday's game against the Athletics with a right knee contusion, but he will not have to miss a start, as Miami's team off day Monday evidently afforded the outfielder enough rest. The 25-year-old is slashing a disappointing .192/.316/.296 this season but does have five home runs and 18 stolen bases.
Xavier Edwards
Xavier Edwards On base four times Sunday
Mon, Jul 6, 2026, 9:58 AM
Edwards went 2-for-4 with two walks in Sunday's win over the A's.
Analysis: The second baseman somehow came away with no runs or RBI despite being part of a nine-run, 16-hit Marlins attack, but it was still an impressive individual showing for Edwards. He's reached base safely in 25 straight starts dating back to June 6, producing a .289/.378/.333 slash line over that stretch with three steals, eight runs and 15 RBI.
Esteury Ruiz
Esteury Ruiz Swipes bag Sunday
Sun, Jul 5, 2026, 9:15 PM
Ruiz went 1-for-3 with a double, walk, a hit-by-pitch, a stolen base and a run scored in Sunday's 9-8 win over the Athletics.
Analysis: Ruiz is up to 18 steals on the season, though his cold bat has decreased his opportunities on the bases lately. He has gone just 3-for-17 with one walk and five strikeouts over his last 11 contests, though he still has four steals in that span. The outfielder is batting .244 with an .838 OPS, four home runs, nine RBI, 23 runs scored, eight doubles and one triple over 106 plate appearances this season. Ruiz could get a longer runway in center field if Jakob Marsee (knee) misses time after exiting Sunday's contest early.
Leo Jimenez
Leo Jimenez Smacks homer in win
Sun, Jul 5, 2026, 9:12 PM
Jimenez went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run and a walk in Sunday's 9-8 win over the Athletics.
Analysis: Jimenez went yard in the third inning off Gage Jump. Jimenez had started July going 0-for-9 over three games after hitting just .205 over 14 contests in June. He continues to occupy a part-time role in the Marlins' infield, and he hasn't shown enough consistency to carve out a larger share of playing time. Jimenez is hitting .202 with a .571 OPS, one homer, six RBI, 10 runs scored, four doubles and a stolen base over 114 plate appearances.
Otto Lopez
Otto Lopez Stays hot Sunday
Sun, Jul 5, 2026, 9:10 PM
Lopez went 3-for-4 with a solo home run, a double, a walk, three total RBI and two runs scored in Sunday's 9-8 win over the Athletics.
Analysis: Lopez is sizzling with a trio of three-hit games over his last four contests. He's also homered in consecutive games and has at least one extra-base hit in five of his last eight games. For the season, the shortstop is batting .346 with an .896 OPS, nine homers, 43 RBI, 59 runs scored, 25 doubles, five triples and 17 stolen bases through 89 contests.
Heriberto Hernandez
Heriberto Hernandez Two homers in Sunday's win
Sun, Jul 5, 2026, 9:08 PM
Hernandez went 3-for-4 with a pair of solo home runs, a double and two walks in Sunday's 9-8 win over the Athletics.
Analysis: Hernandez homered in the first and sixth innings. This was his second multi-homer game of the season, and he's hit nine of his 11 long balls since the start of June. The outfielder is batting .234 with a .771 OPS, 34 RBI, 22 runs scored, six doubles, one triple and five stolen bases over 207 plate appearances this season. Hernandez continues to battle with Griffin Conine for playing time in the corner outfield spots.
Eury Perez
Eury Perez Perfect for seven innings
Sun, Jul 5, 2026, 9:04 PM
Perez (5-6) struck out eight over seven perfect innings to earn the win over the Athletics on Sunday.
Analysis: Perez didn't get a chance to go for history, as manager Clayton McCullough pulled the right-hander at 92 pitches (56 strikes). Lake Bachar then made a mess of things in the eighth inning, and Pete Fairbanks struggled in the ninth, but the Marlins had just enough of a cushion to escape with the win. Perez has allowed just two runs over 17 innings across three starts since he returned from a right gracilis muscle strain. He's at a 3.84 ERA, 1.10 WHIP and 89:32 K:BB through 79.2 innings over 15 starts this season. Perez is projected to make his next start at home versus the Guardians.
Jakob Marsee
Jakob Marsee Exits game with knee contusion
Sun, Jul 5, 2026, 6:04 PM
Marsee was removed from Sunday's game against the Athletics due to a right knee contusion, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.
Analysis: Marsee was hit in the right kneecap by a pitch from Gage Jump in the third inning. Marsee initially stayed in the game to run the bases but was replaced by Griffin Conine in the bottom of the frame. The good news for Marsee is that X-rays came back negative, and with the Marlins having an off-day Monday, he may not miss time and could be in the lineup for Tuesday's series opener against the Mariners.
Owen Caissie
Owen Caissie Heading to bench vs. lefty
Sun, Jul 5, 2026, 3:18 PM
Caissie is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Athletics.
Analysis: Miami will keep Caissie and fellow left-handed hitters Kyle Stowers, Joe Mack and Griffin Conine on the bench for the series finale in Sacramento while southpaw Gage Jump takes the hill for the Athletics. Caissie started in right field or at designated hitter in the Marlins' last five games and went 3-for-15 with two home runs, six RBI and an additional run.
Griffin Conine
Griffin Conine Idle against southpaw
Sun, Jul 5, 2026, 3:17 PM
Conine is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Athletics.
Analysis: Miami will keep Conine and fellow left-handed hitters Kyle Stowers, Joe Mack and Owen Caissie on the bench for the series finale in Sacramento while southpaw Gage Jump takes the hill for the Athletics. Conine went 0-for-10 with a 4:6 BB:K while starting in Miami's past three games, bringing his season-long batting line down to .233/.352/.433 over 71 plate appearances.
Kyle Stowers
Kyle Stowers Resting up against lefty
Sun, Jul 5, 2026, 3:15 PM
Stowers is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Athletics.
Analysis: Miami will keep Stowers and fellow left-handed hitters Griffin Conine, Joe Mack and Owen Caissie on the bench for the series finale in Sacramento while southpaw Gage Jump takes the hill for the Athletics. Liam Hicks will fill in at first base in place of Stowers, who produced a monstrous 1.235 OPS while starting in each of Miami's last 16 games.
Joe Mack
Joe Mack Taking seat against southpaw
Sun, Jul 5, 2026, 3:13 PM
Mack is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Athletics.
Analysis: Miami will keep Mack and fellow left-handed hitters Griffin Conine, Kyle Stowers and Owen Caissie on the bench for the series finale in Sacramento while southpaw Gage Jump takes the hill for the Athletics. Brian Navarreto will fill in for Mack behind the dish and will bat ninth.
Finding form after return
Sat, Jul 4, 2026, 5:27 PM
Alderman sports a .286/.375/.486 slash line over his last 10 games for Triple-A Jacksonville with two home runs, one steal, eight runs and eight RBI.
Analysis: The 23-year-old outfield prospect missed about a month of action after suffering a wrist injury in mid-May, but Alderman returned to the lineup for the Jumbo Shrimp on June 16. After striking out eight times in 13 plate appearances during his first three games back, he's quickly regained his form. Alderman has mainly played right field this season while seeing some action in left field and at first base as well, and a big-league debut in the second half remains possible if he keeps his strikeouts in check.
Owen Caissie
Owen Caissie Belts 11th homer
Sat, Jul 4, 2026, 9:03 AM
Caissie went 1-for-5 with a two-run home run in Friday's win over the A's.
Analysis: The Marlins took advantage of a trip to Sutter Health Park in Sacramento by launching five homers on the night, including Caissie's 390-foot shot the other way to left-center field in the ninth inning off Mason Barnett. Five of Caissie's 11 homers on the season have come in his last 15 games, a stretch in which he's slashing an impressive .357/.396/.762 with 10 runs and 14 RBI.
