Enmanuel De Jesus
Enmanuel De Jesus Looks sharp in long outing
Tue, Jun 2, 2026, 9:25 PM
De Jesus pitched four scoreless innings of relief in Tuesday's 8-0 win over the Rays. He didn't allow any hits or walks while striking out four.
Analysis: Jack Flaherty started the game with five scoreless innings of his own to finally earn his first win of the year, but De Jesus still looked excellent in his longest outing of the season, and he needed only 35 pitches to cruise through his four perfect frames. The lefty lowered his ERA nearly a whole run from 5.91 down to 4.97, and he's up to 25 strikeouts across 25.1 innings. De Jesus could earn more opportunities in a long relief role due to his effectiveness Tuesday.
Riley Greene
Riley Greene Goes deep again Tuesday
Tue, Jun 2, 2026, 9:18 PM
Greene went 1-for-4 with a walk and a solo home run in Tuesday's 8-0 win over the Rays.
Analysis: Greene has now gone deep on consecutive days to begin June, and he's up to six home runs this season across 62 games to go along with a strong .859 OPS. He has a lot of work to do if he wants to match his regular-season total of 36 homers from last year, but the 25-year-old is off to a great start this month, and he should remain locked into fantasy lineups as Detroit's primary offensive catalyst.
Wenceel Perez
Wenceel Perez Continues power surge Tuesday
Tue, Jun 2, 2026, 9:13 PM
Perez went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run and an additional run scored in Tuesday's 8-0 win over the Rays.
Analysis: That's now four home runs in eight games for Perez, which has pushed him up to six long balls for the season. The outfielder isn't providing much in terms of batting average, but he's worth a look right now while his power stroke is this locked in. Perez has also been seeing fairly consistent playing time lately, though the recent return of Kerry Carpenter from the injured list could cut into the former's role. Carpenter was out of the lineup Tuesday with Tampa Bay starting lefty Steven Matz.
Gleyber Torres
Gleyber Torres Homers early in return
Tue, Jun 2, 2026, 9:08 PM
Torres went 1-for-4 with a walk and a solo home run in Tuesday's 8-0 win over the Rays.
Analysis: Playing in his first game in a month, Torres wasted little time getting back into the swing of things as he hit his third home run of the season to lead off the game for the Tigers. The veteran second baseman was on the shelf due to an oblique strain, and Detroit may ease him back into action somewhat, but Torres should once again occupy a spot near the top of the lineup most days. His return should give the entire offense a boost due to his ability to consistently get on base.
Trey Sweeney
Trey Sweeney Shut down
Tue, Jun 2, 2026, 5:50 PM
Sweeney (shoulder) is dealing with a rotator cuff issue and has been shut down from baseball activities to be evaluated, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports.
Analysis: Sweeney has been on the shelf all season due to a shoulder strain he sustained at the start of spring training, and the rotator cuff issue will extend his absence. It's not clear how much longer the 25-year-old will be sidelined, but he seems unlikely to be rejoining the Tigers anytime soon.
Justin Verlander
Justin Verlander Rehab start set
Tue, Jun 2, 2026, 5:12 PM
Verlander (hip) reported to Triple-A Toledo on Tuesday for a rehab assignment, Emily Waldon of Baseball America reports.
Analysis: The 43-year-old has been building up his arm in extended sessions of live batting practice rather than full rehab games, but he'll head to Triple-A for at least one minor-league outing. Verlander threw 66 pitches across four innings during his last session, and he should continue to build up from there with Toledo. If all goes well Tuesday, Verlander's next game appearance could come with the Tigers.
Hao-Yu Lee
Hao-Yu Lee Sent to Triple-A
Tue, Jun 2, 2026, 3:57 PM
The Tigers optioned Lee to Triple-A Toledo on Tuesday.
Analysis: The 23-year-old has been up in the majors since mid-April but will return to Triple-A with Gleyber Torres (oblique) coming off the injured list Tuesday. In his first taste of the big leagues, Lee posted a .205/.241/.337 slash line with two home runs, nine RBI and six runs in 32 games.
Gleyber Torres
Gleyber Torres Reinstated, batting leadoff Tuesday
Tue, Jun 2, 2026, 3:05 PM
The Tigers activated Torres (oblique) from the 10-day injured list, and he's starting at second base and batting leadoff Tuesday against the Rays.
Analysis: The 29-year-old has been on the shelf for the past month due to an oblique strain, but he's ready to rejoin the Tigers after a two-game rehab assignment.
Jake Miller
Jake Miller Ready for rehab assignment
Tue, Jun 2, 2026, 2:31 PM
Miller (hips) will begin a rehab assignment with Single-A Lakeland on Tuesday, Evan Woodbery of MLive.com reports.
Analysis: Miller missed most of 2025 and has gotten a late start to the 2026 season as he works his way back from surgery on both hips. He's finally ready for game action and will eventually move up to the rotation either at Double-A Erie or Triple-A Toledo.
Kevin McGonigle
Kevin McGonigle Getting rare day off Tuesday
Tue, Jun 2, 2026, 10:25 AM
Tigers manager A.J. Hinch said on MLB Network Radio that McGonigle will not be in the lineup for Tuesday's game versus the Rays, Jason Beck of MLB.com reports.
Analysis: It's the first day off since May 4 for McGonigle, who is slashing only .238/.350/.295 since the beginning of May. The Rays are starting southpaw Steven Matz on Tuesday, and the left-handed-hitting McGonigle is sporting a .698 OPS versus lefties (as compared to an .838 OPS against righties).
Gleyber Torres
Gleyber Torres Slated for activation Tuesday
Tue, Jun 2, 2026, 10:18 AM
Tigers manager A.J. Hinch confirmed on MLB Network Radio that Torres (oblique) will be activated from the 10-day injured list before Tuesday's game against the Rays, Jason Beck of MLB.com reports.
Analysis: Torres has been sidelined since early May while battling a left oblique strain, but he's been cleared to return to action after playing two rehab games with Triple-A Toledo. Hao-Yu Lee and Zach McKinstry have shared the Tigers' second-base job since Torres went down, but with Torres returning to the active roster, McKinstry will likely shift to a super-utility role and Lee could be demoted back to Triple-A Toledo.
Dillon Dingler
Dillon Dingler Powers offense with two home runs
Mon, Jun 1, 2026, 9:42 PM
Dingler went 4-for-5 with a double, two home runs, two additional runs scored and four total RBI in Monday's 10-9 win over the Rays.
Analysis: Dingler led the charge Monday with his best all-around game of the season, hitting two of Detroit's five home runs as a team in the offensive showcase. The catcher is now up to 13 long balls for the year, which ties his tally from the entire 2025 regular season. Dingler has struggled to make consistent contact recently with a .189 batting average over his last 15 games before Monday, but his power potential certainly helps offset that. Among MLB catchers, Dingler is second in home runs behind Shea Langeliers, who has gone deep 14 times.
Will Vest
Will Vest Allows run but secures first save
Mon, Jun 1, 2026, 9:30 PM
Vest allowed a run on two hits across 1.2 innings of relief but managed to secure the save in Monday's 10-9 win over the Rays. He struck out two.
Analysis: With Kyle Finnegan recording a blown save in four of his last nine appearances and Kenley Jansen (pelvis) on the injured list, the Tigers turned to Vest to close things out Monday. The veteran righty allowed at least one run for the third time in his last five games and now has an unsightly 7.23 ERA, but he still managed to shut the door for his first save of the year. Finnegan worked earlier in the contest, and both he and Vest could continue to get save opportunities for however long Jansen is out, making this a tricky bullpen for fantasy purposes.
Hao-Yu Lee
Hao-Yu Lee Hits second home run Monday
Mon, Jun 1, 2026, 9:22 PM
Lee went 2-for-5 with a solo home run and an additional run scored in Monday's 10-9 win over the Rays.
Analysis: Lee's second home run at the MLB level was one of five long balls hit by Detroit in the high-scoring contest. The 23-year-old infielder is off to a fairly slow start with a .205 batting average and .578 OPS across his first 32 games in the majors, though he's seeing more playing time at second base with Gleyber Torres (oblique) on the injured list. However, Torres could be back as soon as Tuesday, which would likely push Lee back to the bench or down to the minors.
Riley Greene
Riley Greene Homers, drives in three in win
Mon, Jun 1, 2026, 9:15 PM
Greene went 3-for-4 with a walk, a double, a solo home run and three total RBI in Monday's 10-9 win over the Rays.
Analysis: Greene was right in the middle of Detroit's offensive onslaught Monday, as he lifted one of the team's five home runs. The talented outfielder only has five long balls through 61 games, putting him well behind last year's pace, when he blasted a career-high 36 homers in 157 regular-season games. However, Greene has otherwise been excellent with a .309/.399/.450 slash line, and the batting average and on-base percentage would both be new career bests.
Kerry Carpenter
Kerry Carpenter Homers in three-hit game
Mon, Jun 1, 2026, 9:10 PM
Carpenter went 3-for-5 with a double, a solo home run and two total RBI in Monday's 10-9 win over the Rays.
Analysis: Carpenter was one of four Detroit players to go deep in an offensive explosion Monday. The outfielder just returned from the injured list Sunday after missing about three weeks due to an AC joint sprain in his left shoulder, and the long ball was his first since April 24. Carpenter is still looking to hit his stride this year, and the injury certainly disrupted his momentum, but the 28-year-old is capable of heating up in a hurry.
Ty Madden
Ty Madden Lifted early in return
Mon, Jun 1, 2026, 9:02 PM
Madden took a no-decision Monday against the Rays, allowing two runs on three hits and two walks in 3.1 innings. He struck out four.
Analysis: After missing about two weeks with a right forearm contusion, Madden got a very quick hook Monday in a subpar outing. The 26-year-old right-hander made his first start of the season following three relief appearances, and he threw only 48 pitches (28 strikes) before his evening came to a close. Madden, who has a 3.07 ERA, 0.95 WHIP and 16:4 K:BB over 14.2 innings, could be headed back to Detroit's bullpen when Justin Verlander (hip) is ready to rejoin the rotation.
Matt Vierling
Matt Vierling Bowing out of starting nine
Mon, Jun 1, 2026, 2:32 PM
Vierling is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Rays, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports.
Analysis: He'll head to the bench after starting in each of Detroit's last four games while going 2-for-13 with two walks and a run. Wenceel Perez will cover center field in Vierling's place in the series opener.
Ty Madden
Ty Madden Activated ahead of Monday's start
Mon, Jun 1, 2026, 2:31 PM
The Tigers activated Madden (forearm) from the 15-day injured list Monday.
Analysis: Madden is set to start Monday's game against the Rays after missing the last couple weeks with a right forearm contusion. The right-hander threw 4.1 innings and 70 pitches in his lone rehab start and should be capable of stretching out to 80 pitches or so Monday in Tampa Bay.
Ricky Vanasco
Ricky Vanasco Sent back to minors
Mon, Jun 1, 2026, 2:28 PM
The Tigers optioned Vanasco to Triple-A Toledo on Monday.
Analysis: Vanasco has made five appearances for the Tigers this season and has been torched for 12 runs (11 earned) over 6.1 innings. He's clearing off the roster to make space for the return of Ty Madden (forearm), who will start Monday in Tampa Bay.
