Mickey Moniak
Mickey Moniak Two hits Saturday
Sun, Jul 12, 2026, 8:58 AM
Moniak went 2-for-4 on Saturday against the Giants.
Analysis: Moniak was the only Rockies hitter to reach base multiple times, and he tallied his fifth multi-hit effort across his last eight starts. He's also hitting .406 with six RBI, seven runs scored and two home runs across 10 appearances since the start of July, helping him build upon his breakout 2025 season. Moniak is pacing for a career-high home run total despite missing a month, and he's also maintained a .283 batting average across 223 plate appearances.
Kyle Freeland
Kyle Freeland Mixed results in eighth loss
Sat, Jul 11, 2026, 9:06 PM
Freeland (2-8) took the loss Saturday against the Giants, allowing four runs on six hits and no walks in six innings. He struck out nine.
Analysis: Freeland was working on producing one of his best starts of the season, as he did fan a season-high nine, but Casey Schmitt launched a three-run home run in the sixth inning to leave a big dent on the hurler's line. The 33-year-old left-hander still turned in his fourth outing of the year with at least six frames, but he's now given up multiple runs in 13 consecutive appearances. Freeland has struggled to offer much fantasy viability in 2026, posting a career-worst 7.36 ERA and 1.57 WHIP despite an otherwise encouraging 79:18 K:BB over 88 innings.
Coors bound as fourth-round pick
Sat, Jul 11, 2026, 5:41 PM
The Rockies selected Davis with the No. 104 overall pick in the 2026 First-Year Player Draft.
Analysis: Davis added a couple ticks as a senior at Mississippi State, giving him a high-end combination of velocity and movement on his fastball. However, the expectation is that Davis will remain a reliever as he moves through the professional ranks.
Heading to Coors
Sat, Jul 11, 2026, 4:56 PM
The Rockies selected Natili with the No. 76 overall pick in the 2026 First-Year Player Draft.
Analysis: Natili is a righty-hitting catcher from Cincinnati who impressed at the combine. He joins Daniel Jackson as a second catcher selected by the Rockies early in this draft. He struck out over 20 percent of the time both years in college, but he hit 19 homers this spring.
Plucked by Rockies
Sat, Jul 11, 2026, 3:23 PM
The Rockies selected Jackson with the No. 37 overall pick in the 2026 First-year Player Draft.
Analysis: Jackson transferred from Wofford to Georgia after his freshman season and really broke out this spring, hitting 32 homers with 26 steals in 67 games for the Bulldogs as a junior. He had a worrying 29.7 percent strikeout rate and .240 average as a sophomore but cut the strikeout rate to 20.1 percent while hitting .379 this year. He is fairly new to catching but projects to stick behind the plate thanks to above-average athleticism and a strong arm. The righty-hitting Jackson has huge power to all fields and could easily be a 20-homer/10-steal catcher if he hits enough to play regularly. Even though Jackson cut the Ks this spring, there is still more swing and miss in his game than with most of the college hitters selected in this range of the draft.
Drafted by Rockies
Sat, Jul 11, 2026, 3:22 PM
The Rockies selected Reddemann with the No. 38 overall pick in the 2026 First-Year Player Draft.
Analysis: Reddemann transferred from San Diego to UCLA for his junior year, and saw his stuff tick up across the board before he was shut down after his April 17 start with arm fatigue. Known for his strike throwing ability at USD, Reddemann stayed stingy with the walks (4.7 BB%) after the jump in competition while also dominating with a 35.7 K% - way up from 23.2 K% as a sophomore. The 6-foot-2, 185-pound righty sits in the mid-90s with his fastball and leaned heavily on his upper-80s cutter (touches 91 mph) this spring. He also boasts a quality changeup but his curveball and slider lag behind. Reddemann's health status is up in the air, but before he was shut down he demonstrated mid-rotation starter traits, thanks largely to his plus control.
Jeff Criswell
Jeff Criswell Back with Rockies
Sat, Jul 11, 2026, 1:40 PM
The Rockies recalled Criswell from Triple-A Albuquerque on Saturday.
Analysis: Criswell has put up a 6.87 ERA and 1.82 WHIP in 18.1 innings with the Isotopes, but he's fired two shutout innings with the big club this year. He'll fill the void in Colorado's bullpen left by TJ Shook and figures to work in middle relief.
TJ Shook
TJ Shook Demoted to ABQ
Sat, Jul 11, 2026, 1:36 PM
The Rockies optioned Shook to Triple-A Albuquerque on Saturday.
Analysis: Shook will lose his place in Colorado's bullpen after giving up four earned runs in two innings during Thursday's loss to the Giants. He owns a 2.89 ERA and 1.19 WHIP through 37.1 Triple-A frames in the hitter-friendly Pacific Coast League, so he could make it back into the Rockies' bullpen down the line if he returns to form at Albuquerque. Jeff Criswell was recalled in a corresponding move.
Headed to Coors Field
Sat, Jul 11, 2026, 1:27 PM
The Rockies selected Bell with the No. 10 overall pick in the 2026 First-Year Player Draft.
Analysis: The Rays selected Bell as an Illinois prepster in the second round in 2024 but he chose to spend the next two years at Kentucky, where he was solid as a freshman (101 wRC+) before excelling as a draft-eligible sophomore. This spring, he slashed .343/.510/.608 with nine home runs, 10 steals, a 15.5 percent walk rate and an 18.6 percent strikeout rate in 41 games, all while nursing a torn labrum in his non-throwing shoulder that will require surgery and sideline him initially after signing. Despite being a draft-eligible sophomore, Bell turned 21 in June, so he's only slightly younger than many of the juniors who were selected in the first round. He may not have a plus tool, but his hitting, power and speed are all at least average and could get to above-average or better. He plays a sound shortstop and also has experience at second base and third base while with Team USA and in the Cape Cod League, where he logged an .883 OPS in five games with a wood bat last summer.
Cole Carrigg
Cole Carrigg Riding pine Saturday
Sat, Jul 11, 2026, 12:22 PM
Carrigg isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Giants.
Analysis: Carrigg will get a chance to regroup Saturday after going 0-for-10 with six strikeouts across his last three games. Mickey Moniak, Jake McCarthy and Troy Johnston will form Colorado's outfield trio while Carrigg is on the bench.
Hunter Goodman
Hunter Goodman Back in action Thursday
Thu, Jul 9, 2026, 5:34 PM
Goodman (wrist) will serve as the designated hitter and bat fourth Thursday against the Giants.
Analysis: Goodman missed two starts while tending to a wrist injury he suffered Monday, though he was able to enter Wednesday's game off the bench and is now ready to return to the starting nine for Thursday's contest. The 26-year-old backstop has been playing exceptionally well as of late, slashing .333/.386/.846 with six homers, 12 RBI and 10 runs scored across his last 10 games prior to getting hurt.
John Brebbia
John Brebbia Re-signs with Rockies
Thu, Jul 9, 2026, 5:17 PM
Brebbia signed a minor-league contract with the Rockies on Thursday, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports.
Analysis: Brebbia elected free agency after being DFA'd by the Rockies last week, and after testing his value in the open market, he's now back in the organization on a minor-league deal. The 36-year-old righty will report to Triple-A Albuquerque, where he has thrown nine shutout innings while striking out 10 batters without conceding a walk.
Domingo Acevedo
Domingo Acevedo Gets 80-game PED suspension
Thu, Jul 9, 2026, 1:01 PM
Acevedo was given an 80-game PED suspension by Major League Baseball on Wednesday, Bob Nightengale of USA Today reports.
Analysis: Acevedo tested positive for the steroid Stanozolol. The 32-year-old holds a 5.81 ERA and 35:19 K:BB over 31 innings this season with Triple-A Albuquerque in the Rockies organization. The suspension goes into effect immediately.
Hunter Goodman
Hunter Goodman Sitting again Wednesday
Wed, Jul 8, 2026, 5:27 PM
Goodman (wrist) isn't in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Dodgers.
Analysis: Goodman was a late scratch from the lineup Tuesday due to a jammed wrist suffered during a play at the plate Monday, and the injury will now officially cost him another start. Brett Sullivan will fill in at catcher and bat ninth Wednesday.
Ryan Feltner
Ryan Feltner Next start coming Thursday
Wed, Jul 8, 2026, 10:52 AM
Feltner is slated to make his next start Thursday against the Giants in San Francisco, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports.
Analysis: Feltner was initially slated to get the ball for Wednesday's game against the Dodgers, but Colorado will instead use the series finale in Los Angeles to break rookie Gabriel Hughes into the rotation as a replacement for the injured Tomoyuki Sugano (back). As a result of the change, Feltner now lines up for a rematch with the Giants, whom he limited to three runs (two earned) over six innings at Coors Field his last time out Friday. Since returning from the injured list in late May, Feltner has arguably been the Rockies' most dependable starter, going 2-1 with a 3.23 ERA, 1.08 WHIP and 27:12 K:BB in 39 innings across seven outings.
Gabriel Hughes
Gabriel Hughes First MLB start on tap
Wed, Jul 8, 2026, 10:10 AM
Hughes will start Wednesday's game against the Dodgers in Los Angeles, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports.
Analysis: Following his call-up from Triple-A Albuquerque last week, Hughes made his MLB debut out of the bullpen Friday, collecting a save while allowing three baserunners over three scoreless frames. The 24-year-old righty will now get the chance to make his first big-league start, joining the Colorado rotation as a replacement for the injured Tomoyuki Sugano (back). Prior to his promotion, Hughes had been working out of the Albuquerque rotation and posted a strong 48:11 K:BB in 40.2 innings, though pitching in the hitter-friendly Pacific Coast League inflated his ERA (5.31) and WHIP (1.29).
Hunter Goodman
Hunter Goodman Scratched Tuesday
Tue, Jul 7, 2026, 6:59 PM
Goodman was scratched from the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Dodgers due to a wrist injury, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports.
Analysis: Goodman said that he jammed his wrist during a play at the plate during Monday's game, and although the severity of his injury remains unknown, it will prevent him from playing in Tuesday's game. His absence will enable TJ Rumfield to join the starting nine and bat third.
Cole Carrigg
Cole Carrigg Continues to impress
Tue, Jul 7, 2026, 3:46 AM
Carrigg went 3-for-5 with two doubles, three runs and two RBI in an extra-innings loss to the Dodgers on Monday.
Analysis: Carrigg showed no signs of intimidation in his first career game against the reigning back-to-back champs, as he logged his first MLB three-hit performance. The talented rookie also came through in the clutch, clubbing a two-run double with two outs in the top of the ninth inning off Dodgers closer Tanner Scott to tie the score. Carrigg has been outstanding as a big-leaguer so far, slashing .309/.385/.593 with four home runs, five doubles, three triples, 21 runs, 21 RBI, two stolen bases and an 11:19 BB:K through 25 games.
Kyle Freeland
Kyle Freeland Drilled by Dodgers
Tue, Jul 7, 2026, 3:30 AM
Freeland allowed six runs on nine hits and no walks while striking out two batters over five innings in a no-decision against the Dodgers on Monday.
Analysis: Freeland kept Los Angeles out of the scoring column for two frames until Shohei Ohtani tagged him for a two-run homer in the third. That began a rough stretch for the left-handed hurler, who gave up four more runs on five hits in the fourth. Freeland departed after five innings in line for the loss, but a late Colorado rally took him off the hook. Nonetheless, it was the third time across Freeland's past five starts that he's surrendered six runs, and he's posted an ugly 6.83 ERA with a 1.45 WHIP despite a sterling 25:2 K:BB over that span.
Edouard Julien
Edouard Julien Heading to bench versus lefty
Mon, Jul 6, 2026, 3:52 PM
Julien is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Dodgers.
Analysis: Though he'll head to the bench for the second time in three games while the Rockies face off against another lefty starter (Eric Lauer), the left-handed-hitting Julien appears to have earned himself a regular spot in the lineup versus righties. Over his last six games, Julien has reached base at a .481 clip while recording five hits, eight walks and nine runs and two RBI.
