Ryan Feltner
Ryan Feltner Set to return Saturday
Sat, May 30, 2026, 8:53 AM
Feltner (elbow) is expected to start Saturday's game against the Giants, MLB.com reports.
Analysis: Feltner has been sidelined since April 24 but is ready to return after making two rehab appearances. He worked five innings in his last outing with Triple-A Albuquerque, so he should be able to handle a relatively normal workload. The Rockies will still need to activate Feltner before Saturday's contest to make the move official.
Edouard Julien
Edouard Julien Two straight starts
Sat, May 30, 2026, 8:45 AM
Julien went 1-for-4 with a stolen base Friday against the Giants.
Analysis: Julien had slipped into a reserve role in the last week, but he started his second consecutive game Friday. He helped the Rockies take a 1-0 lead in the second inning, reaching base on a single and then executing a double steal with Ezequiel Tovar. Julien is hitting only .204 across 155 plate appearances, and his playing time will likely slip further once Mickey Moniak (ankle) is able to return.
Tyler Freeman
Tyler Freeman Four-game hitting streak
Sat, May 30, 2026, 8:35 AM
Freeman went 2-for-3 with a run scored and a walk Friday against the Giants.
Analysis: Freeman has gotten more consistent playing time with Mickey Moniak (ankle) sidelined, starting nine straight games. Freeman has hit .265 with two RBI and three runs scored in that span, and he's also in the midst of a four-game hitting streak. Freeman has occupied the second spot in the lineup in four of the last five contests, giving him some run-scoring upside if he continues to reach base at a strong clip.
Juan Mejia
Juan Mejia Struggles, still wins
Sat, May 30, 2026, 8:24 AM
Mejia (1-4) allowed two earned runs on three hits across one inning but still earned the win Friday against the Giants. He did not record a walk or a strikeout.
Analysis: Mejia was called upon to hold the Rockies' deficit to one run in the ninth inning, but he allowed four of the first six batters he faced to reach base. The offense bailed him out with a walk-off home run, but Mejia's recent struggles continued with the outing. He's allowed at least one earned run in three straight appearances, totaling five earned runs allowed across 2.2 innings. Mejia is still being used in high-leverage situations, though his potential share of save chances is murky.
Michael Lorenzen
Michael Lorenzen Goes 3.2 innings in no-decision
Fri, May 29, 2026, 11:20 PM
Lorenzen didn't factor into the decision Friday against the Giants, allowing three runs on five hits and two walks with two strikeouts across 3.2 innings.
Analysis: Lorenzen made relatively quick work of the Giants in the first two innings, but the wheels began to fall off the second time through the lineup. He allowed four of the first six batters to reach base in the top of the fourth before being yanked after 70 pitches. Lorenzen was on the hook for a sixth straight loss before the Colorado offense put up five runs in the bottom of the ninth to walk it off. On the season, Lorenzen has an ugly 7.22 ERA and 43:20 K:BB across 57.1 innings.
Undergoing season-ending surgery
Fri, May 29, 2026, 6:00 PM
Holliday will undergo surgery for a stress fracture in his left foot and miss the rest of the 2026 season, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports.
Analysis: Holliday underwent several examinations after being removed from Single-A Fresno's lineup last week due to a left foot injury. The injury is severe enough to require surgery and will sideline the 19-year-old prospect for the rest of the 2026 season. He'll end the season slashing .262/.395/.557 with one steal, two triples, nine home runs and 32 RBI across 152 plate appearances.
John Brebbia
John Brebbia Lands with Rox
Thu, May 28, 2026, 5:55 PM
Brebbia signed a minor-league contract with the Rockies on Thursday, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports.
Analysis: Brebbia inked an NRI deal with Colorado in December but failed to make the team out of spring training and was let go by the club shortly before Opening Day. Now back with the Rockies, the 35-year-old righty will look to make it back to the majors with an organization that doesn't boast much in terms of bullpen depth, though he will likely need to improve upon his 6.20 Triple-A ERA before drawing consideration for a promotion.
Jeff Criswell
Jeff Criswell Back from IL, staying in minors
Thu, May 28, 2026, 5:45 PM
The Rockies reinstated Criswell (elbow) from the 60-day injured list Thursday and optioned him to Triple-A Albuquerque, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports.
Analysis: Criswell has spent the entire season on the injured list while finishing up his recovery from a Tommy John procedure he underwent in March 2025. He's already made a handful of appearances in the minors while on a rehab assignment but has struggled to the tune of a 5.91 ERA and 1.50 WHIP over 10.2 innings split between three affiliates. The Rockies will keep him in the minors for now, but now that he's back on the organization's 40-man roster, he's a likely candidate to return to the majors at some point once Colorado needs a fresh bullpen arm.
Jose Quintana
Jose Quintana Moves to 60-day IL
Thu, May 28, 2026, 5:37 PM
The Rockies transferred Quintana (elbow) to the 60-day injured list Thursday, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports.
Analysis: Quintana landed on the 15-day IL on Monday with a sprained left elbow. MRI results determined that the southpaw's injury isn't severe enough to require surgery, but he is still set to remain sidelined until at least July 24 now that he's on the 60-day list. His 40-man roster spot will be given to Jeff Criswell (elbow), who returned from the injured list Thursday and was optioned to Triple-A Albuquerque.
Tanner Gordon
Tanner Gordon Making another start
Thu, May 28, 2026, 2:15 PM
Gordon is slated to start Sunday against the Giants at Coors Field.
Analysis: Gordon will receive another turn through the Colorado rotation after he was able to hold his own in his first start of the season Monday in a road matchup with the Dodgers. He limited one of the majors' top offenses to one run on six hits and one walk while striking out three over five innings, taking a no-decision in the Rockies' eventual 5-3 loss. The 28-year-old righty owns a 6.78 ERA and 1.55 WHIP over 142 career innings in the big leagues, so despite getting a favorable matchup versus a weak Giants lineup in his second start, he'll be tough to trust at hitter-friendly Coors Field.
Zach Agnos
Zach Agnos Lit up in return to bullpen
Thu, May 28, 2026, 10:44 AM
Agnos surrendered seven earned runs on six hits and one walk while striking out one batter over two innings of relief Tuesday in the Rockies' 15-6 loss to the Dodgers.
Analysis: Fresh off tossing five scoreless innings while allowing just one hit and one walk in his first MLB start May 21 in Arizona, Agnos shifted back to the bullpen this week, with the Rockies having Tanner Gordon replace him as their fifth starter. Despite being called upon in a low-pressure spot in the top of the fifth inning with the Rockies trailing by seven runs, Agnos did little to stop the bleeding. The gem of an outing against the Diamondbacks looks to be an extreme outlier performance for the 25-year-old righty, who now owns a 6.42 ERA and 1.46 WHIP over 45 career appearances in the big leagues.
Kyle Karros
Kyle Karros Resting Wednesday
Wed, May 27, 2026, 5:44 PM
Karros isn't in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Dodgers.
Analysis: Karros' three-run homer Tuesday extended his hitting streak to three games, but he'll grab a seat on the bench to begin Wednesday's series finale. Willi Castro will start at third base as a result, opening up second for Edouard Julien.
TJ Rumfield
TJ Rumfield In Wednesday's lineup
Wed, May 27, 2026, 5:40 PM
Rumfield (hand) will start at first base and bat third Wednesday against the Dodgers.
Analysis: Rumfield was hit on the hand by a pitch in Monday's contest and didn't play Tuesday, but he's been given the green light to return for Wednesday's series finale. The 26-year-old rookie has been one of the most productive members of Colorado's lineup this season and is slashing .345/.441/.517 with five RBI and four runs across his last 10 games.
Nicky Lopez
Nicky Lopez Inks MiLB deal with Rockies
Wed, May 27, 2026, 7:59 AM
The Rockies signed Lopez to a minor-league contract Tuesday.
Analysis: Lopez was outrighted off the Cubs' 40-man roster earlier this week. He elected free agency and has now landed a new deal with Colorado. He began the season at Triple-A Albuquerque in the Rockies organization before being traded to the Cubs in late April. The veteran infielder will provide an experienced, steady depth glove at Albuquerque.
Brett Sullivan
Brett Sullivan Goes yard in blowout loss
Wed, May 27, 2026, 2:02 AM
Sullivan went 1-for-2 with a solo home run in Tuesday's 15-6 loss to the Dodgers.
Analysis: With the game turning into a blowout early, Sullivan was brought in to give Hunter Goodman some rest. Sullivan then pitched a scoreless eighth inning, allowing one hit and no walks, before tacking on a run for the Rockies with his solo shot off position player Miguel Rojas in the ninth. This was Sullivan's first homer since the 2024 campaign with the Padres, and he's added nine RBI, four runs scored, six doubles and no stolen bases while batting .195 with a .553 OPS over 84 plate appearances this year.
Kyle Karros
Kyle Karros Adds late homer
Wed, May 27, 2026, 2:00 AM
Karros went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run in Tuesday's 15-6 loss to the Dodgers.
Analysis: Karros' homer came off position player Miguel Rojas in the ninth inning. They all count the same in the box score, and for Karros, this long ball ended a stretch of 29 contests without a homer and eight games without an extra-base hit. The third baseman is batting .208 with a .603 OPS, two homers, 14 RBI, 19 runs scored, seven doubles and two stolen bases over 52 games. That production is mostly similar to what he showed in his first 43 big-league contests last year.
Ryan Feltner
Ryan Feltner Builds up to five frames in minors
Tue, May 26, 2026, 1:33 PM
Feltner (elbow) struck out five and allowed one earned run on six hits and one walk across five innings Sunday in a rehab start for Triple-A Albuquerque.
Analysis: Making the second start of his rehab assignment, Feltner moved from Double-A Hartford to Albuquerque and was unfazed by the jump in competition. The 29-year-old pushed his pitch count up to 67 (44 strikes), and the efficient outing could set him up to slot back into the Colorado rotation as soon as this weekend's home series versus the Giants. According to MLB.com, Feltner -- who was placed on the 15-day injured list due to right ulnar nerve inflammation -- returned to Colorado on Monday for a medical checkup, and the Rockies should decide within the next day or two whether he'll make his next start with the big club or in the minors.
Goes on 7-day IL at Single-A
Tue, May 26, 2026, 11:49 AM
Single-A Fresno placed Holliday (foot) on its 7-day injured list Sunday.
Analysis: Holliday hasn't played in nearly a week due to a left foot injury, and the decision was finally made to put him on the IL. The Rockies haven't provided word on a specific diagnosis for Holliday, making it uncertain how much time the top prospect will miss. Holliday has impressed so far in his first full professional season, slashing .262/.395/.557 with nine home runs in 33 games with Fresno, though he's struck out at a 28.3 percent clip.
Tanner Gordon
Tanner Gordon Tames Dodgers in no-decision
Mon, May 25, 2026, 11:25 PM
Gordon completed five innings against the Dodgers on Monday, allowing one run on six hits and one walk while striking out three batters.
Analysis: Gordon had worked in relief in his previous five outings this season but was called upon to make a start against the back-to-back World Champions. Considering that context, Gordon did very well, holding Los Angeles to only one run despite giving up three doubles among the six hits he allowed. The right-hander notched just five whiffs and three punchouts, but he was in line for the win upon his departure, though the Dodgers ultimately staged a late comeback to nab the victory. Gordon may have earned himself another start with this performance, and if that is the case, he'd be lined up to next face San Francisco.
TJ Rumfield
TJ Rumfield X-rays return negative
Mon, May 25, 2026, 11:12 PM
X-rays on Rumfield's right hand came back negative, Patrick Saunders of The Denver Post reports.
Analysis: Rumfield, who was forced to depart Monday's matchup against the Dodgers after being hit on the hand by a fastball, appears to have avoided a significant injury. The team isn't sure at this time whether Rumfield will miss additional game action, and he can be considered day-to-day until further notice.
