Michael Harris II Extends hit streak to seven games
Fri, May 15, 2026, 9:43 PM
Harris went 1-for-4 with a solo homer in Friday's 3-2 extra-inning win against Boston.
Analysis: Harris extended Atlanta's lead to 2-0 in the fourth after smacking a solo homer off Connelly Early. It was Harris' first home run since May 1 against the Rockies and seventh of the season. The long ball also extended his hit streak to seven games, and over that span he has gone 10-for-28 (.357) with two RBI and four runs scored.
Drake Baldwin
Drake Baldwin Goes deep vs. Boston
Fri, May 15, 2026, 9:41 PM
Baldwin went 2-for-4 with a solo homer during Atlanta's 3-2 extra-inning win against the Red Sox on Friday.
Analysis: Baldwin put Atlanta on the board early with a solo homer off southpaw Connelly Early in the first inning. Baldwin has smacked a solo homer in three of his last five games and is up to 12 home runs on the season, which is tied for fourth-most in the National League and ranks second on Atlanta behind Matt Olson (14). Baldwin is slashing .298/.377/.530 with one steal, 34 RBI and 38 runs scored across 204 innings.
Mike Yastrzemski
Mike Yastrzemski Comes up clutch vs. Boston
Fri, May 15, 2026, 9:37 PM
Yastrzemski went 1-for-2 with an RBI double during Atlanta's 3-2 extra-inning win against the Red Sox on Friday.
Analysis: Yastrzemski pinch-hit for Jose Azocar in the seventh inning and struck out, but the former made up for it in the 10th with an RBI double that brought home the winning run. Yastrzemski is slashing .221/.286/.311 with one home run and 11 RBI across 133 plate appearances this season.
Spencer Strider
Spencer Strider Gives up just one run vs. Boston
Fri, May 15, 2026, 9:16 PM
Strider did not factor into the decision of Atlanta's 3-2 extra-inning win against Boston on Friday. He allowed one run on three hits and three walks while striking out four across 5.1 innings.
Analysis: Strider kept the Red Sox in check in Friday's start, with his lone blemish coming in the sixth inning, when he gave up an RBI single to Michael Gasper. Unfortunately for Strider, his Atlanta teammates weren't able to generate enough runs for the right-hander to be in line for the win. Regardless, he has overcome his shaky 2026 debut against the Rockies on May 3 to pitch two consecutive strong starts. Strider is lined up to face the Marlins in Miami next week.
Ronald Acuna Jr.
Ronald Acuna Jr. Could need another week
Fri, May 15, 2026, 4:05 PM
Atlanta manager Walt Weiss said Friday that Acuna (hamstring) likely wouldn't be activated from the 10-day injured list until he can play the outfield, Mark Bowman of MLB.com reports.
Analysis: Weiss had already previously ruled out the possibility of Acuna returning this weekend. Bowman speculates that the club could be targeting May 22 -- which is the beginning of a brief three-game homestand -- for Acuna's return. The star outfielder has been sidelined since early May with a Grade 1 left hamstring strain.
Eli White
Eli White On track for Monday return
Fri, May 15, 2026, 9:57 AM
White (concussion) is expected to come off the injured list when first eligible May 18, Jesus Cano of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: The 31-year-old outfielder last played May 10, when he crashed into the outfield wall to rob the Dodgers' Max Muncy of a bases-loaded extra-base hit and came away with a concussion. White is slashing .237/.258/.390 through 62 plate appearances this season with two homers, eight runs and 10 RBI, and his return will give Atlanta another option to help fill in for Ronald Acuna (hamstring).
Chris Sale
Chris Sale Takes tough-luck loss Thursday
Thu, May 14, 2026, 9:53 PM
Sale (6-3) took the loss against the Cubs on Thursday, allowing an unearned run on five hits and two walks while striking out eight batters over six innings.
Analysis: Sale was excellent Thursday, with the only run against him coming as the result of an error in a hitless sixth inning. However, Atlanta's offense was shut down by five Chicago pitchers, so that unearned run was enough to tag Sale with his second straight defeat. Despite the loss, Sale lowered his ERA to a sterling 1.96, which ranks ninth in MLB among qualified starters. The veteran lefty has complemented that excellent mark with a 0.91 WHIP (seventh-best) and 64 strikeouts (tied for fifth-most) over 55 innings spanning nine starts.
Makes season debut
Thu, May 14, 2026, 4:14 PM
Sinnard (abdomen) struck out one and allowed one run on two hits and one walk over three innings Tuesday in his start for Atlanta's rookie-level Florida Complex League affiliate.
Analysis: Sinnard was cleared to make his 2026 debut Tuesday, after he had been shut down to begin the minor-league season due to an abdominal strain that surfaced in spring training. The 23-year-old right-hander made 16 starts between Single-A Augusta and High-A Rome in 2025, so he likely won't have to wait long to join a full-season affiliate now that he's healthy again.
Out of action at Single-A
Thu, May 14, 2026, 4:10 PM
Single-A Augusta placed Essenburg on its 7-day injured list April 14 due to an unspecified injury.
Analysis: The 19-year-old outfielder saw action in eight games prior to landing on the shelf, hitting .207/.395/.414 with three extra-base hits and a stolen base across 38 plate appearances.
Shelved at Double-A
Thu, May 14, 2026, 4:04 PM
Double-A Columbus placed Hernandez on its 7-day injured list May 2 due to an unspecified injury.
Analysis: Columbus deactivated Hernandez just two days after he delivered his best start of the season -- a seven-inning, nine-strikeout gem in which he allowed just one hit and no walks. For the season, Hernandez has compiled a 1.83 ERA, 1.30 WHIP and 29:12 K:BB across 19.2 frames.
Martin Perez
Martin Perez Drawing start Monday
Thu, May 14, 2026, 3:50 PM
Perez will start Monday's game in Miami, Mark Bowman of MLB.com reports.
Analysis: Perez has been terrific while bouncing back-and-forth between the rotation and bullpen, collecting a 2.31 ERA, 0.97 WHIP and 26:11 K:BB over 35 innings covering five starts and three relief outings. It could be just a spot start for Perez as Atlanta keeps the lefty's role flexible. However, Perez is an option to grab J.R. Ritchie's spot at some point if the rookie isn't able to rein in his recent control problems.
Martin Perez
Martin Perez Used in relief Wednesday
Thu, May 14, 2026, 10:20 AM
Perez struck out two over an inning of relief Wednesday in Atlanta's 4-1 win over the Cubs.
Analysis: After making his last two appearances as a starter, Perez has shifted back to the bullpen while Atlanta has scaled back its rotation from six to five men. Perez may not have to wait long for his next look in the rotation, however; rookie JR Ritchie endured another shaky start Wednesday, needing 87 pitches to record 13 outs. Though Ritchie maintains a shiny 3.32 ERA through his first four big-league outings, most of his other ratios (1.43 WHIP, 2.2 K-BB%) are poor and suggest that he's benefited from some good fortune thus far in terms of run prevention. If Ritchie's control problems persist in future outings, it wouldn't be surprising if Atlanta turned back to Perez as its fifth starter. The veteran has been a steady performer throughout the season with a 2.31 ERA, 0.97 WHIP and 10.9 K-BB% over his eight appearances (five starts).
Drake Baldwin
Drake Baldwin Goes deep against Imanaga
Wed, May 13, 2026, 8:58 PM
Baldwin went 1-for-4 with a solo home run during Atlanta's 4-1 win over the Cubs on Wednesday.
Analysis: Baldwin was responsible for the game's first run after taking Shota Imanaga deep to center field in the fourth inning. It was the 11th home run of the season for Baldwin, which is tied for 11th most in the National League this season. He is slashing .295/.378/.520 with one steal, 33 RBI and 37 runs scored across 196 plate appearances this season.
JR Ritchie
JR Ritchie No-decision vs. Cubs
Wed, May 13, 2026, 8:50 PM
Ritchie did not factor into Wednesday's decision against the Cubs, allowing one run on two hits and three walks while striking out four across 4.1 innings.
Analysis: Ritchie kept the Cubs off the board through the first four innings of Wednesday's game. He allowed two baserunners in the fifth before being replaced by Tyler Kinley, with the latter giving up an RBI single to Michael Hoerner for the Cubs' first run of the game. Ritchie ran up his pitch count to 87 while tossing 53 strikes (60.9 percent strike rate), and he sits at a 3.32 ERA and 1.43 WHIP across 21.2 innings this season. His next start is slated for next week on the road against the Marlins.
Raisel Iglesias
Raisel Iglesias Needs eight pitches for eighth save
Wed, May 13, 2026, 8:46 PM
Iglesias collected the save against the Cubs on Wednesday, issuing one walk in a scoreless ninth.
Analysis: Iglesias came out of the bullpen for a second consecutive night, tasked with protecting Atlanta's 4-1 lead. His leadoff walk to Michael Busch was negated by Michael Conforto's groundball double play, and Iglesias needed just one more pitch to get Pete Crow-Armstrong to pop out, securing Atlanta's 30th win of the season. Iglesias has converted all eight of his save opportunities this season and has not given up a run across 12.2 innings.
Mike Yastrzemski
Mike Yastrzemski Pinch-hit double vs. Cubs
Wed, May 13, 2026, 8:43 PM
Yastrzemski went 1-for-1 with an RBI double in Wednesday's 4-1 win over the Cubs.
Analysis: Yastrzemski pinch-hit for Jose Azocar in the eighth inning with runners on first and second. Yastrzemski answered the call, lacing a double to right field to bring home Michael Harris before crossing home plate himself on a two-run homer from Mauricio Dubon. Yastrzemski has gone 7-for-21 with one home run, four RBI and five runs scored over his last nine games.
Mauricio Dubon
Mauricio Dubon Clubs clutch two-run homer
Wed, May 13, 2026, 8:40 PM
Dubon went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run during Atlanta's 4-1 win over the Cubs on Wednesday.
Analysis: Mike Yastrzemski gave Atlanta a 2-1 lead with an RBI double in the eighth inning, and on the very next at-bat, Dubon extended the team's lead to three runs with a 383-foot homer to left field. It was Dubon's third home run of the season (first since April 6) and his ninth multi-RBI game. He is slashing .263/.321/414 with 19 runs scored and 25 RBI across 165 plate appearances this season.
Joe Jimenez
Joe Jimenez Undergoes another knee surgery
Wed, May 13, 2026, 4:07 PM
Atlanta manager Walt Weiss revealed Wednesday that Jimenez underwent another surgery on his left knee 3-to-4 weeks ago, Grant McAuley of the Marietta Daily Journal reports.
Analysis: Jimenez has now had three surgeries on the knee since November 2024. Weiss noted Wednesday that Jimenez feels better after this recent procedure than he has previously about pitching again, though the right-hander is without a timeline for a return. Jimenez is already on the 60-day injured list and will be a free agent after this season.
Ronald Acuna Jr.
Ronald Acuna Jr. Not returning this week
Wed, May 13, 2026, 3:37 PM
Manager Walt Weiss said Wednesday that Acuna (hamstring) won't be activated from the 10-day injured list during Atlanta's homestand, which runs through Sunday, Grant McAuley of the Marietta Daily Journal reports.
Analysis: Acuna hasn't hit any snags in his recovery from the Grade 1 left hamstring strain that sent him to the IL on May 3; Atlanta is seemingly just exercising some caution in bringing the prized outfielder back from the injury. Per Barrett Sallee of 680 The Fan Atlanta, Weiss emphasized that Acuna has looked great during running drills and checked out fine while sprinting at a little more than 50 percent speed during a pregame workout Wednesday. Atlanta plans on re-evaluating Acuna after the homestand concludes before deciding if he'll return for the team's four-game road series in Miami next week, or if he'll perhaps head out on a brief rehab assignment prior to being activated from the IL.
Austin Riley
Austin Riley Belts sixth homer
Wed, May 13, 2026, 11:32 AM
Riley went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Tuesday's win over the Cubs.
Analysis: The third baseman took Colin Rea deep in the fifth inning as part of a four-run frame for Atlanta that swung the game. Three of Riley's six homers on the season have come in May, and over 10 games this month he's slashing .316/.341/.579 with eight RBI, albeit with a 34.1 percent strikeout rate. Riley has a history of warming up with the weather, with July (.927 OPS) and August (.859 OPS) being the best months over his career, but May isn't far behind at an .841 OPS.
