Michael Harris II
Michael Harris II Seventh career multi-homer game
Wed, Apr 22, 2026, 10:07 PM
Harris went 2-for-4 with two home runs and three RBI in Wednesday's 8-6 win over the Nationals.
Analysis: It was the seventh career multi-homer performance by Harris, who continues to tear the cover off the ball following a sluggish start to the year. The center fielder has smashed five long balls in his last 10 outings, during which Harris is slashing a ridiculous .412/.459/.882 with nine RBI and one stolen base covering 37 plate appearances to raise his OPS for the year to .880.
Robert Suarez
Robert Suarez Secures second save
Wed, Apr 22, 2026, 9:58 PM
Suarez picked up the save Wednesday against the Nationals, allowing no runs on one hit and no walks in the ninth inning.
Analysis: Though he did allow the potential tying run to get to the plate, Suarez quickly shut down any possible Washington rally while throwing seven of his eight pitches for strikes. The hard-throwing right-hander looks to be assuming closing duties in Raisel Iglesias' (shoulder) stead and should be rostered in all fantasy leagues, posting a 0.84 ERA, 0.84 WHIP and 11:1 K:BB through 10.2 innings while converting each of his two save chances.
Martin Perez
Martin Perez Serves up two homers in long relief
Wed, Apr 22, 2026, 9:53 PM
Perez didn't factor into the decision Wednesday against Washington, allowing two runs on three hits (two home runs) and no walks in three innings. He struck out four.
Analysis: Although he was slated to start Thursday's game against the Nationals, Perez ended up being needed as a bulk reliever behind the struggling Didier Fuentes on Wednesday. It was the shortest outing of the year for Perez, who still owns an excellent 2.70 ERA, 0.94 WHIP and 14:6 K:BB over his first 23.1 frames. The veteran southpaw is lined up to take the bump against the Tigers next week, but Spencer Strider (oblique) appears to be closing in on a return and might take Perez's place in the rotation beyond that.
Carlos Carrasco
Carlos Carrasco Returning to majors
Wed, Apr 22, 2026, 9:24 PM
Atlanta is expected to select Carrasco's contract from Triple-A Gwinnett on Thursday, Barrett Sallee of 680 The Fan Atlanta reports.
Analysis: Carrasco has made four starts at Triple-A Gwinnett this year and owns a 1.71 ERA and 1.19 WHIP with an 18:5 K:BB through 21 innings. He's now set to make his return to the big leagues but will likely operate in a long-relief role, as Atlanta will have an opening in it's bullpen once Dylan Dodd (back) is officially placed on the injured list.
Dylan Dodd
Dylan Dodd Bound for IL
Wed, Apr 22, 2026, 9:19 PM
Atlanta will place Dodd on the 15-day injured list Thursday with a back strain, Barrett Sallee of 680 The Fan Atlanta reports.
Analysis: Dodd was summoned from Triple-A Gwinnett on Tuesday and gave up an earned run in his appearance against Washington, but he seems to have come away from his outing with a back issue. He'll spend at least a couple of weeks on the injured list as a result, and Carlos Carrasco will come up from Triple-A to round out Atlanta's bullpen.
Didier Fuentes
Didier Fuentes Heading back to minors
Wed, Apr 22, 2026, 9:15 PM
Atlanta will option Fuentes to Triple-A Gwinnett on Thursday, Barrett Sallee of 680 The Fan Atlanta reports.
Analysis: Fuentes was recalled from the minors to start Wednesday's game against Washington and will now head back down after giving up four earned runs on seven hits and a walk while striking out seven batters over three innings. The 20-year-old righty owns a 2.16 ERA at Triple-A and is viewed as one of the top prospects in Atlanta's farm system, so he will likely receive more opportunities to showcase his talents at the major-league level this season. JR Ritchie is slated to come up from Triple-A in a corresponding move.
Dominic Smith
Dominic Smith Hitting bench Wednesday
Wed, Apr 22, 2026, 2:35 PM
Smith is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Nationals.
Analysis: Atlanta is giving Drake Baldwin a day off from catching but keeping his bat in the lineup at designated hitter, so Smith will be the odd man out of the starting nine. A non-roster invitee in spring training, Smith secured a spot on the Opening Day squad coming out of camp and has been a pleasant surprise for Atlanta early on, slashing .345/.362/.600 with four home runs, 17 RBI and 10 runs over 18 games.
Spencer Strider
Spencer Strider Notches eight Ks in rehab start
Wed, Apr 22, 2026, 11:38 AM
Strider (oblique) struck out eight and permitted one hit and one walk over 4.1 scoreless innings in his rehab start Tuesday with Triple-A Gwinnett.
Analysis: After tossing 3.1 scoreless frames for High-A Rome during his first rehab start last Thursday, Strider moved up a couple levels for his second minor-league outing but was unfazed by the jump in competition. The right-hander pumped in 46 of his 65 pitches for strikes, topping out at 98.1 miles per hour with his fastball and inducing 15 swinging strikes, 10 of which came via his slider. Strider will look to build up to the 80-pitch mark his next time out in what will likely be his final rehab outing in the minors before Atlanta brings him back from the 15-day injured list. He tentatively lines up to make his 2026 MLB debut during Atlanta's three-game series in Colorado next weekend.
Martin Perez
Martin Perez Drawing another start Thursday
Wed, Apr 22, 2026, 8:48 AM
Perez is slated to start Thursday's game against the Nationals in Washington, Mark Bowman of MLB.com reports.
Analysis: After being re-signed last week, Perez slotted back into the Atlanta rotation for his third start of the season and delivered a gem in last Friday's 9-0 win over the Phillies, tossing six scoreless frames. The veteran lefty is now holding down a 2.21 ERA and 0.93 WHIP over 20.1 innings on the season, but he could soon be moved out of the rotation with Spencer Strider (oblique) trending toward a potential return from the injured list next weekend. How Perez fares Thursday could decide whether he receives another start before Strider returns or shifts into a long-relief role.
Ian Hamilton
Ian Hamilton DFA'd by Atlanta
Wed, Apr 22, 2026, 8:33 AM
Atlanta designated Hamilton for assignment Wednesday.
Analysis: Hamilton was knocked around for three runs in an inning of work Tuesday versus the Nationals in his lone appearance with the big club. The 30-year-old has often been an effective middle reliever in the past, so it's possible there's interest in him via waivers.
Didier Fuentes
Didier Fuentes Recalled to start Wednesday's game
Wed, Apr 22, 2026, 8:31 AM
Atlanta recalled Fuentes from Triple-A Gwinnett and will have him start Wednesday in Washington.
Analysis: Wednesday had been Martin Perez's turn in the Atlanta rotation, but he will be pushed back a day. Fuentes was due for another chance at the major-league level, having tossed four innings of one-run ball in a long-relief outing earlier this season and boasting a 2.16 ERA and 20:6 K:BB in 16.2 frames with Gwinnett. With Spencer Strider (oblique) due back from the injured list soon, Fuentes could be in line for just one start with Atlanta, though he could make that decision difficult if he pitches well Wednesday.
Drake Baldwin
Drake Baldwin Smacks sixth homer in loss
Tue, Apr 21, 2026, 11:26 PM
Baldwin went 1-for-4 with a solo home run, walk and two runs scored in Tuesday's 11-4 loss to the Nationals.
Analysis: Baldwin tagged lefty Foster Griffin for a solo shot in the third inning, snapping a 12-game homer-less drought for the catcher. It was Baldwin's sixth long ball of the season and his second off a left-handed pitcher. The 25-year-old is now slashing .310/.378/.530 with six homers, 22 RBI, 25 runs scored and a 9:20 BB:K across 111 trips to the plate.
Reynaldo Lopez
Reynaldo Lopez Records just three outs in defeat
Tue, Apr 21, 2026, 11:20 PM
Lopez (1-1) took the loss Tuesday against the Nationals, allowing four runs on five hits and three walks with one strikeout across one inning.
Analysis: Lopez allowed three runs on three hits and three walks in a 46-pitch first inning, as the Nationals batted around. James Wood then led off the second inning with a solo shot ahead of a Luis Garcia single, and Lopez's night was done after 58 pitches. It was Lopez's shortest start since going 0.2 innings in July of 2020. The right-hander now owns a 3.74 ERA and 20:11 K:BB across 21.2 innings to begin the 2026 campaign. Lopez is tentatively scheduled to next take the mound Sunday at home against the Phillies.
Raisel Iglesias
Raisel Iglesias MRI confirms no structural damage
Tue, Apr 21, 2026, 4:02 PM
An MRI on Iglesias's right shoulder Tuesday confirmed that he is not dealing with structural damage, Chad Bishop of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
Analysis: Iglesias first experienced right shoulder discomfort over the weekend and on Tuesday was placed on the 15-day injured list. The good news is he's merely dealing with inflammation, which could give him a chance to return when eligible in early May or shortly thereafter. Robert Suarez will handle the closer role for Atlanta while Iglesias is sidelined.
Ronald Acuna Jr.
Ronald Acuna Jr. Good to go Tuesday
Tue, Apr 21, 2026, 1:53 PM
Acuna (hand) is starting in right field and batting leadoff Tuesday against the Nationals.
Analysis: Acuna exited Monday's contest after being struck in the left hand by a pitch, but he's back in the lineup a day later after X-rays came back negative. The 28-year-old outfielder has a .304/.418/.500 slash line with four doubles, a triple, a homer, two steals, three RBI and nine runs in his past 12 games as he's bounced back from a slow start to the campaign.
Aaron Bummer
Aaron Bummer Nabs third hold
Tue, Apr 21, 2026, 10:15 AM
Bummer retired the only batter he faced Monday to record his third hold of the season in a win over the Nationals.
Analysis: The southpaw got the final out of the seventh inning after Bryce Elder was lifted following 98 pitches, getting James Wood to ground out with Atlanta ahead 7-4. Bummer already has more holds than he did in either 2025 or 2024, and while his 4.76 ERA and 1.59 WHIP through 5.2 innings look shaky, he's been tagged with runs in only one of his nine appearances. He's become the newest incarnation of a LOOGY, working less than an inning in six of those outings while frequently being called in for the final out or two of an inning against left-handed hitters.
Robert Suarez
Robert Suarez Likely to close sans Iglesias
Tue, Apr 21, 2026, 9:26 AM
Suarez is the leading candidate to take over as Atlanta's closer after Raisel Iglesias (shoulder) was placed on the 15-day injured list Tuesday, Grant McAuley of the Marietta Daily Journal reports.
Analysis: Iglesias has notched five of Atlanta's nine saves on the season, but Suarez has provided value in his setup role, notching a save of his own to go with two wins and four holds, plus a 0.93 ERA, 0.83 WHIP and 11:1 K:BB over 9.2 innings. Though a timeline for Iglesias' return has yet to be established, Suarez is a must-roster player in fantasy leagues while he has a clear path to closing duties. The right-hander has plenty of experience in the role, having converted 76 saves for the Padres over the previous two seasons.
Dylan Dodd
Dylan Dodd Summoned from minors
Tue, Apr 21, 2026, 9:23 AM
Atlanta recalled Dodd from Triple-A Gwinnett on Tuesday.
Analysis: Dodd picked up a three-inning save in his lone appearance out off the Atlanta bullpen earlier this month. He'll provide the team's relief corps with some length.
Raisel Iglesias
Raisel Iglesias Lands on IL with shoulder injury
Tue, Apr 21, 2026, 9:21 AM
Atlanta placed Iglesias on the 15-day injured list Tuesday with right shoulder inflammation.
Analysis: Iglesias was unavailable Saturday versus the Phillies after sleeping on his shoulder wrong. He converted a save Sunday but now finds himself on the IL. Iglesias could be back when first eligible May 5 if he's indeed just dealing with inflammation, though Atlanta has not revealed a target date for its closer's return. Robert Suarez will assume closer duties for Atlanta while Iglesias is sidelined.
Drake Baldwin
Drake Baldwin Plates two in win
Mon, Apr 20, 2026, 10:02 PM
Baldwin went 2-for-4 with a double, two RBI, two runs scored and a walk in Monday's 9-4 win over Washington.
Analysis: Baldwin's two-RBI double in the sixth inning gave Atlanta a lead it would not relinquish in a road win. Monday marked the 25-year-old's 10th multi-hit effort of the young campaign, as he's slashing .313/.377/.510 with five homers, four doubles, 21 RBI and 23 runs, with the latter two figures ranking tied for first and first in MLB, respectively. Early on, Baldwin has performed not just like one of the top catchers in the league, but one of the sport's most productive hitters overall.
