Chris Sale
Chris Sale Excellent again in fifth win
Sun, Apr 26, 2026, 7:27 PM
Sale (5-1) earned the win Sunday over the Phillies, allowing one hit and two walks over six scoreless innings. He struck out nine.
Analysis: It was another stellar outing from Sale, as he notched his fifth win and quality start while setting a new season high with nine punchouts. The veteran southpaw has allowed just two runs over 19 innings in his last three starts, lowering his ERA to 2.31 on the year with a 0.91 WHIP and 38:9 K:BB across 35 innings. Sale is tentatively lined up to face the Rockies at Coors Field his next time out.
JR Ritchie
JR Ritchie Set to start Wednesday
Sun, Apr 26, 2026, 5:04 PM
Ritchie will draw another start on the mound Wednesday against the Tigers, Mark Bowman of MLB.com reports.
Analysis: Ritchie was exceptional in his major-league debut Thursday against the Nationals, tossing seven innings of two-run ball while striking out seven batters. He will now stick around with the major-league rotation for the time being as Atlanta has decided to shift Reynaldo Lopez to bullpen in order to allow him to fix some mechanical issues. With Spencer Strider (oblique) on the cusp a return from the 15-day injured list, Ritchie will be looking to produce another impressive outing against Detroit in an attempt to remain with the big-league club moving forward.
Martin Perez
Martin Perez Tabbed to start Tuesday
Sun, Apr 26, 2026, 4:08 PM
Perez is scheduled to start Tuesday's game against the Tigers at Truist Park, Mark Bowman of MLB.com reports.
Analysis: The veteran left-hander has been impressive while working as both a starter and long reliever early this season, posting a 2.70 ERA, 0.94 WHIP and 14:6 K:BB over 23.1 innings. Perez will replace Reynaldo Lopez in the rotation Tuesday, though it'll likely be just a spot start since Spencer Strider (oblique) is due back from the injured list in the near future.
Reynaldo Lopez
Reynaldo Lopez Bumped to bullpen
Sun, Apr 26, 2026, 4:05 PM
Lopez will be utilized as a reliever going forward while working on some mechanical issues, Mark Bowman of MLB.com reports.
Analysis: The right-hander's 3.74 ERA through five starts this year looks solid, but his 1.43 WHIP and 20:11 K:BB tell a different story. Atlanta will soon be getting back Spencer Strider (oblique) from the injured list, and Martin Perez will pick up a spot start Tuesday versus Detroit before Strider likely enters the rotation next weekend.
Mike Yastrzemski
Mike Yastrzemski On bench Sunday
Sun, Apr 26, 2026, 10:35 AM
Yastrzemski is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Phillies.
Analysis: The veteran outfielder will typically sit versus left-handed starting pitchers, but his absence Sunday is his first of the year against a righty (Aaron Nola). Yastrzemski has yet to get on track at the plate this season with a .188/.266/.247 slash line in 94 plate appearances, and his 26.6 percent strikeout rate would be the worst of his eight-year MLB career.
Dominic Smith
Dominic Smith Sitting again Sunday vs. righty
Sun, Apr 26, 2026, 10:31 AM
Smith is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Phillies.
Analysis: It's the second straight contest on the bench for Smith, who saw a nine-game hit streak end Saturday when he struck out as a pinch hitter. The 30-year-old batted .364 (12-for-33) with two doubles, two homers and nine RBI during that stretch. Each of his past two absences have come versus right-handed starting pitchers as Atlanta prioritizes keeping Michael Harris' bat in the lineup at DH while he deals with a minor quad strain. The pending return of Sean Murphy (hip) from the IL presents a bigger obstacle to Smith's playing time in the long run.
Michael Harris II
Michael Harris II Back in action Saturday
Sat, Apr 25, 2026, 3:08 PM
Harris (quadriceps) is batting fifth and serving as the DH in Saturday's game against Philadelphia.
Analysis: Harris left Thursday's contest against Washington due to left quad tightness and was scratched from Friday's series opener against the Phillies after originally being penciled into the lineup. However, there never seemed to be a concern that the outfielder was dealing with a serious issue, and Harris even doubled as a pinch hitter Friday. Atlanta seems to still be taking a cautious approach by having Harris DH instead of take his usual spot in center field, but all signs point to the 25-year-old being good to go moving forward.
Robert Suarez
Robert Suarez Converts third save
Fri, Apr 24, 2026, 11:26 PM
Suarez earned the save Friday against the Phillies, allowing one hit and one walk with one strikeout in a scoreless ninth inning.
Analysis: Suarez put the tying run on base with a walk to Trea Turner and Adolis Garcia single but was able to get Brandon Marsh to ground out to end the game. With Raisel Iglesias (shoulder) on the injured list, Suarez has converted back-to-back saves this week and has big-time fantasy upside for however long Iglesias is sidelined. Suarez is a perfect 3-for-3 in save chances this season and owns a minuscule 0.77 ERA and 12:2 K:BB across 11.2 innings.
Grant Holmes
Grant Holmes Quality start in win Friday
Fri, Apr 24, 2026, 11:21 PM
Holmes (2-1) picked up the win Friday against the Phillies, allowing three runs on seven hits and three walks with four strikeouts across six innings.
Analysis: Holmes notched his third quality start of the season but has allowed multiple runs in five of six outings to begin the 2026 campaign. The right-hander was able to mostly limit the damage, surrendering a pair of homers to Trea Turner and Bryce Harper to account for the three runs. Holmes possesses average stuff and will carry a 3.62 ERA and 25:14 K:BB across 32.1 innings into his next start.
JR Ritchie
JR Ritchie Staying in majors for now
Fri, Apr 24, 2026, 4:07 PM
Atlanta manager Walt Weiss said Friday that Ritchie will remain in the majors for now because "we wanted him to be an option in the picture moving forward," Chad Bishop of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
Analysis: Ritchie was dynamite in his major-league debut Thursday versus the Nationals, yielding two runs over seven innings while notching seven strikeouts. Spencer Strider (oblique) is tentatively lined up to rejoin the Atlanta next week, which could leave Ritchie without a spot in the rotation. It's unclear whether the club is considering a six-man rotation for a turn, or if Ritchie could be used out of the bullpen. More clarity on the rookie's usage should be revealed in the coming days.
Raisel Iglesias
Raisel Iglesias On track for minimum IL stay
Fri, Apr 24, 2026, 4:01 PM
Atlanta manager Walt Weiss said Friday that Iglesias (shoulder) has yet to resume throwing, but the club is happy with his progress and hopes to activate him May 5 when he's first eligible, Grant McAuley of the Marietta Daily Journal reports.
Analysis: It will be tough to get a more accurate gauge on Iglesias' timeline until he is able to throw again without issue, but the club remains confident its closer won't be out long. Robert Suarez is filling in as Atlanta's ninth-inning man while Iglesias is on the mend from right shoulder inflammation.
Michael Harris II
Michael Harris II Scratched from lineup
Fri, Apr 24, 2026, 3:51 PM
Atlanta manager Walt Weiss said that Harris (quad) has been scratched from Friday's lineup against the Phillies, Grant McAuley of the Marietta Daily Journal reports.
Analysis: Harris had to leave Thursday's contest against the Nationals due to left quad tightness. He was in Atlanta's initial lineup Friday, but after testing the quad out pregame, the decision was made to hold him out. Weiss noted Friday that Harris is considered day-to-day and the team does not anticipate a stint on the injured list. Eli White replaced Harris in center field Friday and would be in line for regular playing time while Harris is out.
Ian Hamilton
Ian Hamilton Sent outright to Triple-A
Fri, Apr 24, 2026, 2:26 PM
Atlanta outrighted Hamilton to Triple-A Gwinnett on Friday, Chad Bishop of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
Analysis: Hamilton was removed from the 40-man roster after giving up three runs in his lone appearance in the majors. Since he's been outrighted previously, Hamilton has the ability to decline the assignment and become a free agent, but it's unclear what his plans are.
Michael Harris II
Michael Harris II Back in lineup Friday
Fri, Apr 24, 2026, 2:13 PM
Harris (quadriceps) will start in center field and bat fifth in Friday's game versus the Phillies.
Analysis: Harris had to be lifted from Thursday's contest against the Nationals due to left quad tightness, but he checked out fine and will not have to miss a game. The five spot in the lineup is the highest this season for Harris, who is slashing .447/.488/.895 with five home runs over his last 11 games.
Ozzie Albies
Ozzie Albies Homers, drives in four
Thu, Apr 23, 2026, 3:17 PM
Albies went 3-for-4 with with a homer, an additional run scored and four total RBI in Thursday's 7-2 win over the Nationals.
Analysis: It's the first multi-RBI game of the season for Albies -- he capped the scoring Thursday with his fifth homer of the season in the ninth inning off Julian Fernandez. Albies' big day also extended his hit streak to six games -- he's gone 9-for-23 (.391) in that span. The veteran second baseman has gotten off to a strong start this year, slashing .297/.342/.475 with 15 RBI and 18 runs scored across 111 plate appearances.
JR Ritchie
JR Ritchie Grabs win in debut
Thu, Apr 23, 2026, 2:50 PM
Ritchie (1-0) earned the win Thursday over the Nationals, allowing two runs on five hits and two walks over seven innings. He struck out seven.
Analysis: It was an impressive major-league debut for the 22-year-old Ritchie, who needed just 89 pitches to get through seven innings while holding Washington to a pair of solo home runs (one of which came on his first pitch of the game to James Wood). While Ritchie could return to the minors with Spencer Strider (oblique) expected to return next weekend, the rookie made a strong case for a longer look in the rotation. Ritchie posted a stellar 0.99 ERA with a 1.03 WHIP and 28:13 K:BB across five starts (27.1 innings) with Triple-A Gwinnett this season.
Michael Harris II
Michael Harris II Exits game with quad tightness
Thu, Apr 23, 2026, 2:17 PM
Harris was removed from Thursday's game against the Nationals in the seventh inning due to left quad tightness.
Analysis: Harris doubled in a run in the top of the seventh inning but was then seen stretching out his left leg after advancing to third base on a single. He was removed from the game before the bottom of the frame. Atlanta is saying Harris' exit was precautionary, and Harris said after the game that he expects to play Friday versus the Phillies, per Mark Bowman of MLB.com. Harris finished Thursday's tilt having gone 3-for-4 with two RBI, and he's batting .447 with five home runs across his last 11 games. If Harris misses some time, Eli White would receive an uptick in playing time.
Jonah Heim
Jonah Heim On base twice in Wednesday's start
Thu, Apr 23, 2026, 9:27 AM
Heim went 1-for-3 with a walk and a run scored in Wednesday's win over the Nationals.
Analysis: The 30-year-old got the start at catcher and hit ninth for Atlanta, and Heim did an effective job of flipping the lineup over in an 8-6 victory. Heim quietly has a six-game hitting streak dating back to April 7, batting .304 (7-for-23) over that stretch with three doubles, two RBI and a run. Heim isn't guaranteed to lose his spot on the 26-man roster when Sean Murphy (hip) gets healthy, given Atlanta's tendency to keep Drake Baldwin's bat in the lineup at DH when he isn't catching.
Matt Olson
Matt Olson Clubs seventh homer
Thu, Apr 23, 2026, 9:22 AM
Olson went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run in Wednesday's win over the Nationals.
Analysis: Atlanta racked up eight runs and four homers in the first four innings of the contest, all off Zack Littell, with Olson's fourth-inning blast capping the offensive eruption. The first baseman is up to seven long balls in 25 games on the season to go along with a .265/.348/.582 slash line, 20 runs and 22 RBI.
Drake Baldwin
Drake Baldwin Goes yard again Wednesday
Thu, Apr 23, 2026, 9:19 AM
Baldwin went 2-for-3 with a walk and a solo home run in Wednesday's win over the Nationals.
Analysis: The second-year backstop took Zack Littell deep in the first inning, kicking off an eight-run, four-homer barrage by Atlanta. Baldwin has left the yard in back-to-back games and seven times in his first 25 contests this season while compiling a stellar .320/.391/.563 slash line, 23 RBI and an MLB-leading 26 runs.
