JR Ritchie
JR Ritchie Looks good in long relief
Sat, Jun 13, 2026, 9:47 AM
Ritchie gave up two hits and two walks over five scoreless relief innings in Friday's loss to the Mets. He struck out five.
Analysis: The rookie right-hander finished out the game after Spencer Strider (forearm) was pulled following a leadoff walk to MJ Melendez in the bottom of the fourth inning while showing greatly diminished velocity. Strider has already been placed on the IL and is being sent for an MRI on Saturday, and Ritchie's impressive relief performance over 73 pitches (42 strikes) makes him the logical candidate to move into the rotation. Over 30.2 innings in the majors this season, Ritchie has a 3.82 ERA, 1.34 WHIP and 26:18 K:BB.
Matt Olson
Matt Olson Clubs homer No. 20
Sat, Jun 13, 2026, 9:41 AM
Olson went 1-for-5 with a solo home run in Friday's loss to the Mets.
Analysis: The first baseman took Cionel Perez deep in the fifth inning, Olson's third homer in the last three games and his 20th of the season -- tying him for fourth in MLB behind Yordan Alvarez (24), Kyle Schwarber (24) and Byron Buxton (21). Through nine games to begin June, Olson's batting .333 (12-for-36) with four home runs, six RBI and nine runs.
Anthony Molina
Anthony Molina Recalled from Gwinnett
Sat, Jun 13, 2026, 9:12 AM
Atlanta recalled Molina from Triple-A Gwinnett on Saturday.
Analysis: Molina will return to the majors to give Atlanta's bullpen some extra depth as Spencer Strider (elbow) moves to the injured list. Molina pitched two shutout innings during his lone appearance with the big club May 1 but still carries a 6.82 ERA and 1.59 WHIP across his MLB career.
Spencer Strider
Spencer Strider Lands on IL
Sat, Jun 13, 2026, 9:08 AM
Atlanta placed Strider on the 15-day injured list Saturday with right elbow inflammation.
Analysis: Strider was forced to make an early exit from his start Friday due to arm soreness, and although he's now been confirmed to be dealing with an elbow injury, it remains unknown whether his inflammation is the result of a structural issue. He'll sit out for at least a couple of weeks, and a more accurate return timeline should come out once the team determines the severity of his injury. In the meantime, Anthony Molina will come up from Triple-A Gwinnett to give Atlanta some extra bullpen depth until a fifth starter is needed.
Spencer Strider
Spencer Strider Exits with trainer
Fri, Jun 12, 2026, 9:06 PM
Strider was removed from Friday's game against the Mets due to right arm soreness.
Analysis: Strider gave up six runs across the first two innings of the game and was displaying diminished velocity at the start of the fourth, prompting Atlanta's training staff to take him out of the game. It remains unknown what exactly the 27-year-old righty is dealing with, but the team should provide some clarity in the near future.
Hurston Waldrep
Hurston Waldrep Reinstated, sent to Triple-A
Fri, Jun 12, 2026, 3:21 PM
Atlanta activated Waldrep (elbow) from the 60-day injured list Friday and subsequently optioned him to Triple-A Gwinnett.
Analysis: The right-hander has been working his way back from offseason elbow surgery and made his third minor-league rehab start Thursday -- surrendering four runs across 3.2 innings with Double-A Columbus -- so it's an interesting decision by Atlanta to activate him now rather than simply continuing his rehab assignment in the minors. Waldrep posted a 2.88 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and 55:22 K:BB across 56.1 regular-season frames in the big leagues last year and should get another look with Atlanta at some point this summer.
Drake Baldwin
Drake Baldwin Starting rehab assignment
Fri, Jun 12, 2026, 1:06 PM
Baldwin (oblique) will report to Triple-A Gwinnett on Saturday to begin a rehab assignment, Barrett Sallee of 680 The Fan Atlanta reports.
Analysis: The 25-year-old catcher was able to progress to taking live batting practice this week and has now been cleared for game action after recovering from the oblique strain that sent him to the injured list in mid-May. Assuming all goes well with Gwinnett, Baldwin could be back in Atlanta for the start of the team's next homestand, which begins Tuesday versus the Giants.
Martin Perez
Martin Perez Game postponed due to weather
Thu, Jun 11, 2026, 7:47 PM
Perez will have his next start pushed back a day after Thursday's contest against the White Sox was postponed due to rain.
Analysis: Perez will likely toe the rubber in Friday's series opener on the road against the Mets. The southpaw has posted a 3.45 ERA and 1.21 WHIP with nine strikeouts over 15.2 innings in his last three outings, and he owns a 4-0 record and 3.09 ERA over 43.2 career innings against the Mets.
Connor Thomas
Connor Thomas Returns from internal brace surgery
Thu, Jun 11, 2026, 4:53 PM
Thomas (elbow) has posted an 0.79 ERA, 0.62 WHIP and 6:3 K:BB over 11.1 innings across six appearances (one start) with Triple-A Gwinnett since being reinstated from the 7-day injured list May 22.
Analysis: Thomas made his MLB debut last season with Milwaukee, which selected him in the 2024 Rule 5 Draft. The 28-year-old southpaw made just two appearances for the Brewers before hitting the shelf with an elbow injury that he ultimately addressed with a season-ending internal brace surgery in late July. After electing free agency over the winter, Thomas joined Atlanta on a minor-league deal in November and has gotten off to a nice start with his new organization since finishing up his rehab from surgery.
Returns from IL
Thu, Jun 11, 2026, 4:45 PM
Carey (heel) has gone 1-for-7 with a double and an 0:4 BB:K in two games since being reinstated from High-A Rome's 7-day injured list Tuesday.
Analysis: Carey had been on the shelf for just under two months due to a heel injury before being cleared to return to the Rome lineup after completing a six-game rehab assignment in the rookie-level Florida Complex League. The 19-year-old outfielder is slashing .250/.316/.423 with one home run and one stolen base over 57 plate appearances in the South Atlantic League this season.
Jhancarlos Lara
Jhancarlos Lara Moved off 40-man roster
Wed, Jun 10, 2026, 1:45 PM
Atlanta designated Lara for assignment Wednesday.
Analysis: Lara was a roster casualty with Atlanta needing to clear a 40-man spot for first baseman/designated hitter Rowdy Tellez, who was promoted from Triple-A Gwinnett in a corresponding move. A 23-year-old righty, Lara was up with Atlanta for a brief spell last September but didn't get the chance to make his big-league debut. He had pitched exclusively for Double-A Columbus thus far in 2026, logging an 8.22 ERA, 2.65 WHIP and 21:29 K:BB in 15.1 innings.
Rowdy Tellez
Rowdy Tellez Back in big leagues with Atlanta
Wed, Jun 10, 2026, 1:42 PM
Atlanta selected Tellez's contract from Triple-A Gwinnett on Wednesday.
Analysis: Atlanta placed star outfielder Ronald Acuna (hamstring) on the 10-day injured list, and as a result Tellez, an eight-year big-league veteran, will reach the majors for the first time in 2026. Though the 31-year-old Tellez showed during his time at Gwinnett that he can still hit for power (.483 slugging percentage) and get on base at a steady clip, he likely won't have a path to regular playing time while he's up with Atlanta. Unless Atlanta shows a willingness to use Dominic Smith in the corner outfield while Acuna is on the shelf, Tellez will likely be limited to a pinch-hitting role while Smith and Matt Olson are ahead of him on the depth chart at designated hitter and first base, respectively.
Ronald Acuna Jr.
Ronald Acuna Jr. Lands on IL with strained hamstring
Wed, Jun 10, 2026, 1:42 PM
Atlanta placed Acuna on the 10-day injured list Wednesday with a strained left hamstring.
Analysis: Acuna injured his hamstring during Tuesday's loss to the White Sox while trying to beat out an infield single. The outfielder missed a little over two weeks of action in May with a Grade 1 left hamstring strain, though it's unclear what the grade of strain is this time around. Atlanta could use Mauricio Dubon more in the outfield while Acuna is shelved, and Eli White should also see a boost in playing time.
JR Ritchie
JR Ritchie Returning to big leagues
Wed, Jun 10, 2026, 9:40 AM
Atlanta recalled Ritchie from Triple-A Gwinnett on Wednesday.
Analysis: Ritchie had an up-and-down first stint in the majors, posting a 4.91 ERA and 21:16 K:BB over 25.2 innings in his five starts. It appears he will operate in a relief role this time around, providing the team with a bullpen arm capable of covering multiple innings.
Tyler Kinley
Tyler Kinley Shelved with inflamed elbow
Wed, Jun 10, 2026, 9:34 AM
Atlanta placed Kinley on the 15-day injured list Wednesday due to right elbow inflammation.
Analysis: The transaction is retroactive to Monday, so Kinley could have a chance at returning to the Atlanta bullpen when first eligible June 23 if his elbow inflammation proves to be mild and he's able to resume throwing within the next few days. The right-hander has been a key part of the bridge to the ninth inning for Atlanta this season, notching four wins and 10 holds while pitching to a 3.18 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and 31:10 K:BB across 28.1 frames.
Carlos Carrasco
Carlos Carrasco DFA'd by Atlanta again
Wed, Jun 10, 2026, 9:33 AM
Atlanta designated Carrasco for assignment Wednesday.
Analysis: Carrasco has been removed from Atlanta's 40-man roster before re-signing on three occasions this season, and the two parties could link back up again after he clears waivers. The veteran hurler holds a 3.00 ERA and 4:1 K:BB over nine innings with the big club this season.
James Karinchak
James Karinchak Contract selected
Wed, Jun 10, 2026, 9:29 AM
Atlanta selected Karinchak's contract from Triple-A Gwinnett on Wednesday.
Analysis: Karinchak will get a look with the big club after putting up a 2.45 ERA and 38:10 K:BB over 25.2 innings with Gwinnett. The 30-year-old has not appeared in the majors since 2023 and will likely work in low-leverage spots initially.
Drake Baldwin
Drake Baldwin Closing in on rehab assignment
Wed, Jun 10, 2026, 8:39 AM
Baldwin (oblique) is slated to take live batting practice Thursday and Friday and could be cleared to begin a rehab assignment at Triple-A Gwinnett over the weekend, 680 The Fan Atlanta reports.
Analysis: Baldwin still has a couple more boxes to check in his recovery from a Grade 1 right oblique strain, but Atlanta still appears to be earmarking him for a return from the 10-day injured list for the start of their six-game homestand, which begins next Tuesday. Assuming all goes well during his upcoming pair of live BP sessions, Baldwin will likely catch at least one game with Gwinnett over the weekend to prove that the oblique strain is behind him. The reigning National League Rookie of the Year had gotten off to a hot start to his sophomore campaign before getting hurt, slashing .303/.389/.543 with 13 home runs, one stolen base, 38 RBI and 39 runs over 48 games.
Ronald Acuna Jr.
Ronald Acuna Jr. Deemed day-to-day
Tue, Jun 9, 2026, 10:27 PM
Manager Walt Weiss said after Tuesday's game against the White Sox that Acuna is day-to-day with left hamstring tightness, Barrett Sallee of 680 The Fan Atlanta reports.
Analysis: Acuna went on the injured list in early May due to a left hamstring strain, though Weiss noted that his latest injury doesn't seem to be as severe. Eli White entered Tuesday's contest as Acuna's replacement and could be in line for additional starts if the latter needs to miss another game or two.
Ronald Acuna Jr.
Ronald Acuna Jr. Exits early with injury
Tue, Jun 9, 2026, 7:55 PM
Acuna exited Tuesday's contest against the White Sox in the fourth inning due to left hamstring tightness.
Analysis: Acuna was busting it down the line in an attempt to secure an infield single in the top of the fourth inning, but he pulled up lame as he approached first base. The outfielder appeared to have tweaked his left leg in the process, and he was subsequently removed from the game. More information on Acuna's status will likely be provided in the near future, but in the meantime, Eli White has taken over in right field versus Chicago.
