Drake Baldwin
Drake Baldwin Plates two in win
Mon, Apr 20, 2026, 10:02 PM
Baldwin went 2-for-4 with a double, two RBI, two runs scored and a walk in Monday's 9-4 win over Washington.
Analysis: Baldwin's two-RBI double in the sixth inning gave Atlanta a lead it would not relinquish in a road win. Monday marked the 25-year-old's 10th multi-hit effort of the young campaign, as he's slashing .313/.377/.510 with five homers, four doubles, 21 RBI and 23 runs, with the latter two figures ranking tied for first and first in MLB, respectively. Early on, Baldwin has performed not just like one of the top catchers in the league, but one of the sport's most productive hitters overall.
Matt Olson
Matt Olson Slugs homer in win
Mon, Apr 20, 2026, 9:57 PM
Olson went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run and an additional RBI in Monday's victory over Washington.
Analysis: Olson walloped a Jake Irvin sinker over the center-field fence to tie the game at 2-2 in the fourth inning, and a five-run sixth inning carried Atlanta to the win. The first baseman has been outstanding all season, hitting safely in 12 of his past 13 games and in 20 of 23 contests overall in 2026. He's slashing .278/.365/.589 with six homers, 10 doubles, 19 RBI and 19 runs, continuing to assert his status as one of the most productive hitters in the National League.
Bryce Elder
Bryce Elder Picks up third win
Mon, Apr 20, 2026, 9:38 PM
Elder (3-1) earned the win Monday, allowing four runs (three earned) on three hits and two walks over 6.2 innings against the Nationals. He struck out six.
Analysis: Elder worked through a two-run first inning and pitched into the seventh frame to earn his third win of the season. After making 28 starts and posting a 5.30 ERA and 1.39 WHIP across 156.1 innings last year, expectations were minimal for the right-hander entering 2026, but he has delivered strong results with a 1.50 ERA and 0.97 WHIP through five outings (30 innings). Elder's next start is lined up to come Saturday against the Phillies.
Ronald Acuna Jr.
Ronald Acuna Jr. Considered day-to-day
Mon, Apr 20, 2026, 7:57 PM
Acuna (hand), who was removed from Monday's game against Washington after being hit by a pitch twice, is being considered day-to-day after X-rays returned negative.
Analysis: Acuna appeared to be in pain after being hit by a pitch on his left hand during the top of the sixth inning, and he was removed from the matchup in the bottom half of the frame. His status will be worth keeping a close eye on leading up to the second game of the series Tuesday. At this point, there's no plan to send Acuna for an MRI, per Mark Bowman of MLB.com.
Ronald Acuna Jr.
Ronald Acuna Jr. Lifted early Monday
Mon, Apr 20, 2026, 7:47 PM
Acuna exited Monday's game against the Nationals with an undisclosed injury, Mark Bowman of MLB.com reports.
Analysis: Acuna was hit by a pitch twice before leaving the game. The more concerning HBP took place in the top of the sixth inning, when he was struck on the left hand, though he managed to remain in the game to run the bases after being examined by the club's medical staff. Acuna will presumably be sent for further tests to determine the severity of his injury.
Mauricio Dubon
Mauricio Dubon Handed day off Monday
Mon, Apr 20, 2026, 2:49 PM
Dubon is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Nationals.
Analysis: Jorge Mateo will receive the nod at shortstop while Dubon receives a well-deserved rest after he had started in 19 consecutive games. With a strong .299/.341/.455 slash line through 82 plate appearances on the season, Dubon should remain an everyday player for Atlanta before likely moving into a utility role once Ha-Seong Kim (finger) is ready to return from the injured list around mid-May.
Michael Harris II
Michael Harris II Stays hot in win
Sun, Apr 19, 2026, 10:32 PM
Harris went 3-for-3 with a solo home run, a walk and a second run scored in Sunday's 4-2 win over Philadelphia.
Analysis: This was Harris' second three-hit effort over the last three days. He's also logged four multi-hit performances over his last seven games, a span that includes three of his four homers on the year. The outfielder is batting .290 with an .816 OPS, two stolen bases, nine RBI and nine runs scored over 20 contests. Harris still regularly hits at the bottom of the order, but that's not as much of a problem with Atlanta's offense humming along from top to bottom early in 2026.
Raisel Iglesias
Raisel Iglesias Converts save Sunday
Sun, Apr 19, 2026, 10:25 PM
Iglesias (shoulder) allowed a hit and a walk while striking out one over a scoreless inning to earn the save in Sunday's 4-2 win over Philadelphia.
Analysis: Iglesias was deemed unavailable Saturday after sleeping on his shoulder wrong. The issue was not believed to be serious, and while he wasn't all that sharp Sunday, it's a positive sign he was able to get back on the mound. He threw 13 of 21 pitches for strikes in this outing and escaped with his fifth save of the season. The veteran closer has yet to give up a run over 8.2 innings, and the walk he issued Sunday was the first he's given up all season. He's added 11 strikeouts and looks locked in as Atlanta's primary closer, though the team's bullpen has been a strength in general so far with four relievers sporting an ERA under 2.00.
Grant Holmes
Grant Holmes Falls short of five-inning mark
Sun, Apr 19, 2026, 10:20 PM
Holmes allowed two runs on four hits and a walk while striking out four over 4.2 innings in a no-decision versus Philadelphia on Sunday.
Analysis: Holmes threw 50 of 81 pitches for strikes. He was pulled before having to face Kyle Schwarber a third time in the contest after Schwarber hit a two-run blast off Holmes in the first inning. This was Holmes' second straight start where he fell short of the five-inning mark, denying him a chance to collect his second win of the year. Through five starts, he has a 3.42 ERA, 1.10 WHIP and 21:11 K:BB through 26.1 innings. The right-hander's next start is projected to be a rematch at home versus the Phillies.
Sean Murphy
Sean Murphy Shifting rehab to Triple-A
Sun, Apr 19, 2026, 3:45 PM
Murphy (hip) is slated to move his rehab assignment from High-A Rome to Triple-A Gwinnett on Tuesday, Chad Bishop of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
Analysis: Murphy went 0-for-9 with a walk and two strikeouts during his time at Rome, but more important than his results at the plate was the fact that his surgically repaired right hip held up fine while he made three starts at catcher and one at designated hitter. The veteran backstop could be reinstated from the 10-day injured list when Atlanta kicks off a homestand Friday, but the club may want to give Murphy some more time in minors to knock off rust before activating him.
Didier Fuentes
Didier Fuentes Could get promoted this week
Sun, Apr 19, 2026, 3:43 PM
Fuentes had his start with Triple-A Gwinnett skipped Sunday, Mark Bowman of MLB.com reports.
Analysis: Atlanta is currently in the midst of a stretch of 10 games in 10 days, so holding Fuentes back gives the team the option to call him up either for a spot start to buy the rest of the rotation some rest, or to work in long relief. Even if Fuentes doesn't get promoted, having a start skipped allows Atlanta to keep the 20-year-old right-hander's workload in check, as he has yet to throw more than 75.2 innings in a season. Fuentes has had an outstanding start to the campaign, posting a combined 24:7 K:BB over 20.2 innings between Triple-A and the majors with a 2.18 ERA and 0.82 WHIP. With Spencer Strider (oblique) closing in on his 2026 debut, however, Atlanta doesn't have a permanent spot available in the rotation for Fuentes just yet.
Spencer Strider
Spencer Strider Moving rehab to Triple-A
Sun, Apr 19, 2026, 3:40 PM
Strider (oblique) is scheduled to make the second start of his rehab assignment Tuesday at Triple-A Gwinnett, Chad Bishop of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
Analysis: He'll be making the jump to Gwinnett from High-A Rome along with rehabbing catcher Sean Murphy (hip), who was behind the plate last Thursday in Strider's first minor-league outing. Strider spotted 27 of his 50 pitches for strikes in his start with Rome, recording three punchouts while yielding one hit and two walks over 3.1 scoreless frames. The right-hander will get further stretched out further Tuesday in what's expected to be the second of three total starts in the minors before he returns from the 15-day injured list and slots back into the Atlanta rotation.
Robert Suarez
Robert Suarez Picks up save Saturday
Sat, Apr 18, 2026, 10:06 PM
Suarez earned the save in Saturday's 3-1 win over the Phillies, striking out two in a perfect ninth inning
Analysis: With Raisel Iglesias unavailable after sleeping on his shoulder wrong, Suarez was called upon with a two-run lead in the ninth and slammed the door on 14 pitches. The 35-year-old has been stellar so far this season, posting a 1.04 ERA, 0.92 WHIP and 10:1 K:BB across 8.2 innings. If Iglesias remains unavailable in the near term, Suarez would clearly be the top option for saves in the Atlanta bullpen.
Raisel Iglesias
Raisel Iglesias Unavailable Saturday
Sat, Apr 18, 2026, 9:40 PM
Iglesias was not available to pitch Saturday due to shoulder discomfort, Mark Bowman of MLB.com reports.
Analysis: The positive news is that the injury isn't related to throwing, as Iglesias slept on his shoulder wrong. He could be available Sunday, though his status still isn't very clear. Robert Suarez picked up a save Saturday night in Iglesias's absence.
Chris Sale
Chris Sale Goes seven strong for fourth win
Sat, Apr 18, 2026, 9:19 PM
Sale (4-1) earned the win against the Phillies on Saturday, allowing one run on five hits and one walk with seven strikeouts over seven innings.
Analysis: Sale surrendered a solo homer in the second inning but was otherwise dominant, throwing 73 of 101 pitches for strikes and logging six scoreless frames. Aside from a six-run clunker April 6, the veteran southpaw has yielded just three earned runs across four quality starts. He'll carry a 2.79 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and 29:7 K:BB across 29 innings into a road matchup against the Nationals next week.
Ha-Seong Kim
Ha-Seong Kim Taking batting practice
Sat, Apr 18, 2026, 4:49 PM
Manager Walt Weiss said Saturday that Kim (finger) has resumed taking batting practice, Chad Bishop of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
Analysis: Kim has been on the shelf since the beginning of the season as he finishes up his rehab from offseason finger surgery. Atlanta's skipper said that the team plans to have the 30-year-old shortstop begin playing in sim games Thursday, and he'll likely be sent out on a minor-league rehab assignment shortly afterward.
Michael Harris II
Michael Harris II Three hits including homer in rout
Sat, Apr 18, 2026, 10:20 AM
Harris went 3-for-4 with a solo home run and a second run scored in Friday's win over the Phillies.
Analysis: The center fielder capped a strong performance by taking Orion Kerkering deep in the eighth inning. It was Harris' third homer of the season, and over four games since returning from paternity leave he's collected five hits, boosting his slash line to .258/.290/.409 with two steals, seven runs and eight RBI.
Dominic Smith
Dominic Smith Swats fourth homer
Sat, Apr 18, 2026, 10:17 AM
Smith went 1-for-5 with a solo home run in Friday's win over the Phillies.
Analysis: The 30-year-old got hold of a splitter up in the zone from Taijuan Walker in the third inning, giving Smith his fourth homer of the season. He's put together a blistering start to the season as Atlanta's primary DH against right-handed pitching, slashing .362/.380/.660 over 50 plate appearances with 10 runs and 16 RBI, but Smith's playing time will shrink once Sean Murphy (hip) is cleared to come off the IL.
Jose Suarez
Jose Suarez Nabs three-inning save
Sat, Apr 18, 2026, 10:13 AM
Suarez gave up two hits and a walk over three scoreless innings Friday to record his first save of the season in a win over the Phillies.
Analysis: Atlanta waltzed to a 9-0 victory, and Suarez finished out the shutout after Martin Perez had tossed six innings. Suarez has filled a swingman role to begin the season, posting a 6.35 ERA, 1.94 WHIP and 12:5 K:BB in 11.1 innings over five appearances (one start), but he could lose his spot on the 26-man roster once Spencer Strider (oblique) is ready for his 2026 debut.
Austin Riley
Austin Riley Powers rout with two homers
Sat, Apr 18, 2026, 9:12 AM
Riley went 2-for-5 with two home run and five RBI in Friday's 9-0 win over the Phillies.
Analysis: The third baseman went 18 games without a long ball to begin the season, but Riley has now gone yard three times in the last two contests after he launched a couple opposite-field homers Friday -- a three-run shot off a Taijuan Walker cutter in the third inning, and a solo blast on a Chase Shugart fastball in the ninth. Riley also has five multi-hit performances in the last nine games, a stretch in which he's slashing .316/.381/.632 with three doubles, two steals, 10 runs and 11 RBI.
