Drake Baldwin
Drake Baldwin Smacks sixth homer in loss
Tue, Apr 21, 2026, 11:26 PM
Baldwin went 1-for-4 with a solo home run, walk and two runs scored in Tuesday's 11-4 loss to the Nationals.
Analysis: Baldwin tagged lefty Foster Griffin for a solo shot in the third inning, snapping a 12-game homer-less drought for the catcher. It was Baldwin's sixth long ball of the season and his second off a left-handed pitcher. The 25-year-old is now slashing .310/.378/.530 with six homers, 22 RBI, 25 runs scored and a 9:20 BB:K across 111 trips to the plate.
Reynaldo Lopez
Reynaldo Lopez Records just three outs in defeat
Tue, Apr 21, 2026, 11:20 PM
Lopez (1-1) took the loss Tuesday against the Nationals, allowing four runs on five hits and three walks with one strikeout across one inning.
Analysis: Lopez allowed three runs on three hits and three walks in a 46-pitch first inning, as the Nationals batted around. James Wood then led off the second inning with a solo shot ahead of a Luis Garcia single, and Lopez's night was done after 58 pitches. It was Lopez's shortest start since going 0.2 innings in July of 2020. The right-hander now owns a 3.74 ERA and 20:11 K:BB across 21.2 innings to begin the 2026 campaign. Lopez is tentatively scheduled to next take the mound Sunday at home against the Phillies.
Raisel Iglesias
Raisel Iglesias MRI confirms no structural damage
Tue, Apr 21, 2026, 4:02 PM
An MRI on Iglesias's right shoulder Tuesday confirmed that he is not dealing with structural damage, Chad Bishop of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
Analysis: Iglesias first experienced right shoulder discomfort over the weekend and on Tuesday was placed on the 15-day injured list. The good news is he's merely dealing with inflammation, which could give him a chance to return when eligible in early May or shortly thereafter. Robert Suarez will handle the closer role for Atlanta while Iglesias is sidelined.
Ronald Acuna Jr.
Ronald Acuna Jr. Good to go Tuesday
Tue, Apr 21, 2026, 1:53 PM
Acuna (hand) is starting in right field and batting leadoff Tuesday against the Nationals.
Analysis: Acuna exited Monday's contest after being struck in the left hand by a pitch, but he's back in the lineup a day later after X-rays came back negative. The 28-year-old outfielder has a .304/.418/.500 slash line with four doubles, a triple, a homer, two steals, three RBI and nine runs in his past 12 games as he's bounced back from a slow start to the campaign.
Aaron Bummer
Aaron Bummer Nabs third hold
Tue, Apr 21, 2026, 10:15 AM
Bummer retired the only batter he faced Monday to record his third hold of the season in a win over the Nationals.
Analysis: The southpaw got the final out of the seventh inning after Bryce Elder was lifted following 98 pitches, getting James Wood to ground out with Atlanta ahead 7-4. Bummer already has more holds than he did in either 2025 or 2024, and while his 4.76 ERA and 1.59 WHIP through 5.2 innings look shaky, he's been tagged with runs in only one of his nine appearances. He's become the newest incarnation of a LOOGY, working less than an inning in six of those outings while frequently being called in for the final out or two of an inning against left-handed hitters.
Robert Suarez
Robert Suarez Likely to close sans Iglesias
Tue, Apr 21, 2026, 9:26 AM
Suarez is the leading candidate to take over as Atlanta's closer after Raisel Iglesias (shoulder) was placed on the 15-day injured list Tuesday, Grant McAuley of the Marietta Daily Journal reports.
Analysis: Iglesias has notched five of Atlanta's nine saves on the season, but Suarez has provided value in his setup role, notching a save of his own to go with two wins and four holds, plus a 0.93 ERA, 0.83 WHIP and 11:1 K:BB over 9.2 innings. Though a timeline for Iglesias' return has yet to be established, Suarez is a must-roster player in fantasy leagues while he has a clear path to closing duties. The right-hander has plenty of experience in the role, having converted 76 saves for the Padres over the previous two seasons.
Dylan Dodd
Dylan Dodd Summoned from minors
Tue, Apr 21, 2026, 9:23 AM
Atlanta recalled Dodd from Triple-A Gwinnett on Tuesday.
Analysis: Dodd picked up a three-inning save in his lone appearance out off the Atlanta bullpen earlier this month. He'll provide the team's relief corps with some length.
Raisel Iglesias
Raisel Iglesias Lands on IL with shoulder injury
Tue, Apr 21, 2026, 9:21 AM
Atlanta placed Iglesias on the 15-day injured list Tuesday with right shoulder inflammation.
Analysis: Iglesias was unavailable Saturday versus the Phillies after sleeping on his shoulder wrong. He converted a save Sunday but now finds himself on the IL. Iglesias could be back when first eligible May 5 if he's indeed just dealing with inflammation, though Atlanta has not revealed a target date for its closer's return. Robert Suarez will assume closer duties for Atlanta while Iglesias is sidelined.
Drake Baldwin
Drake Baldwin Plates two in win
Mon, Apr 20, 2026, 10:02 PM
Baldwin went 2-for-4 with a double, two RBI, two runs scored and a walk in Monday's 9-4 win over Washington.
Analysis: Baldwin's two-RBI double in the sixth inning gave Atlanta a lead it would not relinquish in a road win. Monday marked the 25-year-old's 10th multi-hit effort of the young campaign, as he's slashing .313/.377/.510 with five homers, four doubles, 21 RBI and 23 runs, with the latter two figures ranking tied for first and first in MLB, respectively. Early on, Baldwin has performed not just like one of the top catchers in the league, but one of the sport's most productive hitters overall.
Matt Olson
Matt Olson Slugs homer in win
Mon, Apr 20, 2026, 9:57 PM
Olson went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run and an additional RBI in Monday's victory over Washington.
Analysis: Olson walloped a Jake Irvin sinker over the center-field fence to tie the game at 2-2 in the fourth inning, and a five-run sixth inning carried Atlanta to the win. The first baseman has been outstanding all season, hitting safely in 12 of his past 13 games and in 20 of 23 contests overall in 2026. He's slashing .278/.365/.589 with six homers, 10 doubles, 19 RBI and 19 runs, continuing to assert his status as one of the most productive hitters in the National League.
Bryce Elder
Bryce Elder Picks up third win
Mon, Apr 20, 2026, 9:38 PM
Elder (3-1) earned the win Monday, allowing four runs (three earned) on three hits and two walks over 6.2 innings against the Nationals. He struck out six.
Analysis: Elder worked through a two-run first inning and pitched into the seventh frame to earn his third win of the season. After making 28 starts and posting a 5.30 ERA and 1.39 WHIP across 156.1 innings last year, expectations were minimal for the right-hander entering 2026, but he has delivered strong results with a 1.50 ERA and 0.97 WHIP through five outings (30 innings). Elder's next start is lined up to come Saturday against the Phillies.
Ronald Acuna Jr.
Ronald Acuna Jr. Considered day-to-day
Mon, Apr 20, 2026, 7:57 PM
Acuna (hand), who was removed from Monday's game against Washington after being hit by a pitch twice, is being considered day-to-day after X-rays returned negative.
Analysis: Acuna appeared to be in pain after being hit by a pitch on his left hand during the top of the sixth inning, and he was removed from the matchup in the bottom half of the frame. His status will be worth keeping a close eye on leading up to the second game of the series Tuesday. At this point, there's no plan to send Acuna for an MRI, per Mark Bowman of MLB.com.
Ronald Acuna Jr.
Ronald Acuna Jr. Lifted early Monday
Mon, Apr 20, 2026, 7:47 PM
Acuna exited Monday's game against the Nationals with an undisclosed injury, Mark Bowman of MLB.com reports.
Analysis: Acuna was hit by a pitch twice before leaving the game. The more concerning HBP took place in the top of the sixth inning, when he was struck on the left hand, though he managed to remain in the game to run the bases after being examined by the club's medical staff. Acuna will presumably be sent for further tests to determine the severity of his injury.
Mauricio Dubon
Mauricio Dubon Handed day off Monday
Mon, Apr 20, 2026, 2:49 PM
Dubon is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Nationals.
Analysis: Jorge Mateo will receive the nod at shortstop while Dubon receives a well-deserved rest after he had started in 19 consecutive games. With a strong .299/.341/.455 slash line through 82 plate appearances on the season, Dubon should remain an everyday player for Atlanta before likely moving into a utility role once Ha-Seong Kim (finger) is ready to return from the injured list around mid-May.
Michael Harris II
Michael Harris II Stays hot in win
Sun, Apr 19, 2026, 10:32 PM
Harris went 3-for-3 with a solo home run, a walk and a second run scored in Sunday's 4-2 win over Philadelphia.
Analysis: This was Harris' second three-hit effort over the last three days. He's also logged four multi-hit performances over his last seven games, a span that includes three of his four homers on the year. The outfielder is batting .290 with an .816 OPS, two stolen bases, nine RBI and nine runs scored over 20 contests. Harris still regularly hits at the bottom of the order, but that's not as much of a problem with Atlanta's offense humming along from top to bottom early in 2026.
Raisel Iglesias
Raisel Iglesias Converts save Sunday
Sun, Apr 19, 2026, 10:25 PM
Iglesias (shoulder) allowed a hit and a walk while striking out one over a scoreless inning to earn the save in Sunday's 4-2 win over Philadelphia.
Analysis: Iglesias was deemed unavailable Saturday after sleeping on his shoulder wrong. The issue was not believed to be serious, and while he wasn't all that sharp Sunday, it's a positive sign he was able to get back on the mound. He threw 13 of 21 pitches for strikes in this outing and escaped with his fifth save of the season. The veteran closer has yet to give up a run over 8.2 innings, and the walk he issued Sunday was the first he's given up all season. He's added 11 strikeouts and looks locked in as Atlanta's primary closer, though the team's bullpen has been a strength in general so far with four relievers sporting an ERA under 2.00.
Grant Holmes
Grant Holmes Falls short of five-inning mark
Sun, Apr 19, 2026, 10:20 PM
Holmes allowed two runs on four hits and a walk while striking out four over 4.2 innings in a no-decision versus Philadelphia on Sunday.
Analysis: Holmes threw 50 of 81 pitches for strikes. He was pulled before having to face Kyle Schwarber a third time in the contest after Schwarber hit a two-run blast off Holmes in the first inning. This was Holmes' second straight start where he fell short of the five-inning mark, denying him a chance to collect his second win of the year. Through five starts, he has a 3.42 ERA, 1.10 WHIP and 21:11 K:BB through 26.1 innings. The right-hander's next start is projected to be a rematch at home versus the Phillies.
Sean Murphy
Sean Murphy Shifting rehab to Triple-A
Sun, Apr 19, 2026, 3:45 PM
Murphy (hip) is slated to move his rehab assignment from High-A Rome to Triple-A Gwinnett on Tuesday, Chad Bishop of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
Analysis: Murphy went 0-for-9 with a walk and two strikeouts during his time at Rome, but more important than his results at the plate was the fact that his surgically repaired right hip held up fine while he made three starts at catcher and one at designated hitter. The veteran backstop could be reinstated from the 10-day injured list when Atlanta kicks off a homestand Friday, but the club may want to give Murphy some more time in minors to knock off rust before activating him.
Didier Fuentes
Didier Fuentes Could get promoted this week
Sun, Apr 19, 2026, 3:43 PM
Fuentes had his start with Triple-A Gwinnett skipped Sunday, Mark Bowman of MLB.com reports.
Analysis: Atlanta is currently in the midst of a stretch of 10 games in 10 days, so holding Fuentes back gives the team the option to call him up either for a spot start to buy the rest of the rotation some rest, or to work in long relief. Even if Fuentes doesn't get promoted, having a start skipped allows Atlanta to keep the 20-year-old right-hander's workload in check, as he has yet to throw more than 75.2 innings in a season. Fuentes has had an outstanding start to the campaign, posting a combined 24:7 K:BB over 20.2 innings between Triple-A and the majors with a 2.18 ERA and 0.82 WHIP. With Spencer Strider (oblique) closing in on his 2026 debut, however, Atlanta doesn't have a permanent spot available in the rotation for Fuentes just yet.
Spencer Strider
Spencer Strider Moving rehab to Triple-A
Sun, Apr 19, 2026, 3:40 PM
Strider (oblique) is scheduled to make the second start of his rehab assignment Tuesday at Triple-A Gwinnett, Chad Bishop of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
Analysis: He'll be making the jump to Gwinnett from High-A Rome along with rehabbing catcher Sean Murphy (hip), who was behind the plate last Thursday in Strider's first minor-league outing. Strider spotted 27 of his 50 pitches for strikes in his start with Rome, recording three punchouts while yielding one hit and two walks over 3.1 scoreless frames. The right-hander will get further stretched out further Tuesday in what's expected to be the second of three total starts in the minors before he returns from the 15-day injured list and slots back into the Atlanta rotation.
