Hunter Stratton
Hunter Stratton Designated for assignment
Wed, Jun 17, 2026, 5:20 PM
Atlanta designated Stratton for assignment Wednesday.
Analysis: Stratton will lose his place on the 40-man roster to make room for Jair Camargo, who was added to the active roster to work as the 27th man Wednesday. Stratton pitched a scoreless inning during his lone appearance with Atlanta this season but owns a 4.38 ERA and 1.65 WHIP across 24.2 frames at Triple-A Gwinnett.
Spencer Strider
Spencer Strider Transferred to 60-day IL
Wed, Jun 17, 2026, 5:18 PM
Atlanta transferred Strider (elbow) to the 60-day injured list Wednesday.
Analysis: Strider landed on the 15-day IL on June 13 with right elbow inflammation, and it was later deemed that he would be shut down for at least four weeks. Although the 27-year-old avoided any structural damage to his elbow, Atlanta made the decision to transfer him to the 60-day IL in order to make room on the 40-man roster for Carlos Carrasco. Strider has only appeared in eight games this season for Atlanta after having the start of his campaign delayed due to an oblique injury that sidelined him until May 3.
Michael Harris II
Michael Harris II Not starting Wednesday
Wed, Jun 17, 2026, 5:11 PM
Harris (back) is not in the lineup for Wednesday's game against San Francisco.
Analysis: After being removed early from Tuesday's game against the Giants due to lower-back tightness, Harris will sit out Wednesday for Atlanta. On the season, the 25-year-old has posted a .306/.340/.514 with 14 homers and 41 RBI in 245 plate appearances. Mauricio Dubon will replace Harris in center field and atop the lineup.
Ronald Acuna Jr.
Ronald Acuna Jr. 'Long way' from returning
Wed, Jun 17, 2026, 3:42 PM
Atlanta manager Walt Weiss said Wednesday that Acuna (hamstring) is a "long way" from returning from the 10-day injured list, Mark Bowman of MLB.com reports.
Analysis: Acuna missed nearly three weeks of action in May with a left hamstring strain and landed back on the IL one week ago with the same injury. Because the strain is in the same spot, Weiss noted that the club will be more cautious this time around with the star outfielder. With the All-Star break less than four weeks away, Atlanta could choose to hold Acuna out until the second half.
Jair Camargo
Jair Camargo Added to roster
Wed, Jun 17, 2026, 3:37 PM
Atlanta selected Camargo's contract from Triple-A Gwinnett on Wednesday, Chad Bishop of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
Analysis: Camargo will serve as a third catcher for Atlanta. The 26-year-old has a .581 OPS with two home runs and a 4:57 BB:K at Gwinnett this season.
Carlos Carrasco
Carlos Carrasco Back in big leagues again
Wed, Jun 17, 2026, 3:31 PM
Atlanta selected Carrasco's contract from Triple-A Gwinnett on Wednesday, Chad Bishop of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
Analysis: It marks the fourth stint in the big leagues this season for Carrasco, who has yielded three runs with a 4:1 K:BB over nine innings. He will provide some length in the Atlanta bullpen.
Anthony Molina
Anthony Molina Sent back to minors
Wed, Jun 17, 2026, 3:28 PM
Atlanta optioned Molina to Triple-A Gwinnett on Wednesday, Chad Bishop of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
Analysis: Molina logged two innings Wednesday versus the Giants in the completion of Tuesday's suspended game, allowing a couple runs. Atlanta will add Carlos Carrasco as Molina's roster replacement.
Michael Harris II
Michael Harris II Exits early Tuesday
Tue, Jun 16, 2026, 6:57 PM
Harris was removed from Tuesday's game against the Giants with lower-back tightness.
Analysis: The severity of Harris' injury remains unknown, but Atlanta may provide more details following Tuesday's contest. Eli White entered Tuesday's game as Harris' replacement and could be in line for more playing time if the latter needs to miss additional games.
Drake Baldwin
Drake Baldwin Returns to starting lineup
Tue, Jun 16, 2026, 2:28 PM
Baldwin (oblique) is back in the starting lineup and batting leadoff for Tuesday's matchup against the Giants.
Analysis: Baldwin has not been in action since he was placed on the injured list May 19 and will make his first start back for Tuesday's series opener. Before landing on the injured list, the 25-year-old slashed .303/.389/.543 with 13 homers and 38 RBI. Atlanta's catching depth is already razor-thin with Sean Murphy on the 60-day IL, so Baldwin provides them a very big relief.
Brewer Hicklen
Brewer Hicklen Added to 40-man roster, optioned
Tue, Jun 16, 2026, 10:26 AM
Atlanta selected Hicklen's contract and optioned him to Triple-A Gwinnett on Tuesday, Lindsay Crosby of BravesToday.com reports.
Analysis: Hicklen likely had an opt-out clause in his minor-league contract, and Atlanta has chosen to add him to its 40-man roster to prevent the outfielder from leaving the organization. The 30-year-old has mashed at Gwinnett in 2026, slashing .316/.381/.519 with 11 home runs and 21 stolen bases. Hicklen could get an opportunity with the big club if Ronald Acuna's hamstring injury lingers, but he'll remain at Gwinnett for the time being.
Austin Wynns
Austin Wynns Outrighted to Triple-A
Mon, Jun 15, 2026, 3:34 PM
Atlanta outrighted Wynns to Triple-A Gwinnett on Monday.
Analysis: Drake Baldwin (oblique) is back from the injured list, and Atlanta has elected to keep Sandy Leon over Wynns as Baldwin's backup catcher. Wynns will remain in the organization as experienced catching depth at Gwinnett.
Drake Baldwin
Drake Baldwin Reinstated from injured list
Mon, Jun 15, 2026, 3:27 PM
Atlanta activated Baldwin (oblique) from the 10-day injured list Monday.
Analysis: Atlanta is idle Monday, so Baldwin will return to the lineup during Tuesday's series opener at home against the Giants. Baldwin has missed almost a month of action while rehabilitating a strained oblique, but he will cleared to rejoin the active roster after playing one rehab contest with Triple-A Sacramento. The 25-year-old was looking like an MVP candidate before getting hurt, having slashed .303/.389/.543 with 13 home runs over 48 games.
Returns from IL
Mon, Jun 15, 2026, 1:53 PM
Triple-A Gwinnett reinstated Burkhalter (back) from its 7-day injured list Monday and assigned him to Double-A Columbus.
Analysis: Burkhalter had been stuck on the IL since the end of spring training due to back spasms, but he's been given a clean bill of health after making four rehab appearances in the lower rungs of the minors. He could eventually rejoin the Gwinnett bullpen later this season, but Burkhalter will first look to knock off some rust in the Southern League.
Spencer Strider
Spencer Strider Facing four-week shutdown period
Mon, Jun 15, 2026, 1:41 PM
Atlanta announced that Strider (elbow) will be shut down from throwing for four weeks following a consultation Monday with Dr. Keith Meister.
Analysis: After he was forced out of his start Friday against the Mets, Strider was diagnosed with right elbow inflammation and landed on the injured list a day later. While an MRI cleared Strider of any structural damage to his twice-surgically-repaired elbow, he'll still need a prolonged period of rest for the inflammation to calm down. Strider will be scheduled to undergo a follow-up MRI in mid-July, and if his scan is clear at that time, he'll be able to begin a throwing progression around the All-Star break. Even if his recovery from the elbow injury goes smoothly, Strider looks unlikely to join the Atlanta rotation until early-to-mid-August in a best-case scenario, which could make it tough to justify holding him in most redraft leagues.
Maverick Handley
Maverick Handley Back with Atlanta on minors deal
Mon, Jun 15, 2026, 1:33 PM
Atlanta re-signed Handley to a minor-league contract Saturday.
Analysis: Atlanta released Handley on Friday, but he was a free agent for just one day before opting to return to the organization. He'll serve as catching depth at Triple-A Gwinnett while Austin Wynns and Sandy Leon are needed at the big-league level until Drake Baldwin (oblique) and Sean Murphy (finger) return from the injured list.
JR Ritchie
JR Ritchie Entering rotation Wednesday
Mon, Jun 15, 2026, 12:32 PM
Ritchie is slated to start Wednesday's game against the Giants in Atlanta, Chad Bishop of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
Analysis: After being recalled from Triple-A Gwinnett, Ritchie joined the Atlanta bullpen and made just his second relief appearance since entering the professional ranks in 2022. He ended up piggybacking injured starter Spencer Strider (elbow) in Friday's loss to the Mets, striking out five batters and scattering two hits and two walks over five innings. With Strider landing on the injured list a day later, Ritchie will now be called upon to fill the open spot in the rotation. Strider lacks a clear timeline for a return, so Ritchie should be in line for multiple starts with the big club.
Carlos Carrasco
Carlos Carrasco Re-ups with Atlanta again
Mon, Jun 15, 2026, 11:57 AM
Atlanta re-signed Carrasco to a minor-league contract Monday.
Analysis: Carrasco has been designated for assignment by Atlanta four times this season, only to stick around in the organization on a new contract. The 39-year-old holds a 3.00 ERA and 4:1 K:BB over nine innings with the big club this season and will report to Triple-A Gwinnett.
Spencer Strider
Spencer Strider Avoids ligament damage to elbow
Mon, Jun 15, 2026, 11:04 AM
An MRI on Strider's right elbow revealed no ligament damage, and he'll meet with Dr. Keith Meister later Monday before a timeline for his return from the 15-day injured list is established, Mark Bowman of MLB.com reports.
Analysis: The MRI result comes as welcome news, as Strider looks set to avoid another operation on his elbow after requiring Tommy John surgery while in college in 2019 and an internal brace surgery in April 2024. Dr. Meister -- who performed the latter procedure -- will review the MRI results before providing Strider with a road map for his next steps in his recovery from elbow inflammation. Atlanta is expected to have another update on the right-hander's status Tuesday, and a potential timetable for his return from the 15-day injured list could also be provided at that point.
Bryce Elder
Bryce Elder Falls to the Mets
Sun, Jun 14, 2026, 3:52 PM
Elder (5-4) took the loss Sunday against the Mets, allowing six runs on 10 hits and two walks over four innings. He struck out two.
Analysis: The Mets jumped on Elder for four runs in the first inning before the right-hander gave up back-to-back home runs to A.J. Ewing and Marcus Semien to open the fifth. It's the first time that Elder has given up more than one homer in a start this season -- he'd also allow season-highs in both runs and hits. Elder's ERA now sits at 3.15 through 15 starts (88.2 innings) this season with a 1.14 WHIP and 73:27 K:BB. He'll look to bounce back in his next outing, tentatively scheduled to come at home next weekend against the Brewers.
Spencer Strider
Spencer Strider Still being evaluated
Sun, Jun 14, 2026, 2:11 PM
Manager Walt Weiss said Sunday that there's "nothing definitive" on Strider's inflamed right elbow, and he's scheduled to be evaluated by Dr. Keith Meister at some point this week, Chad Bishop of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
Analysis: Strider has some familiarity with Meister, who performed his UCL brace procedure in 2024, per Grant McAuley of the Marietta Daily Journal, so this is a concerning development even though Atlanta has yet to provide any injury specifics beyond the initial diagnosis. The right-hander landed on the injured list Saturday after exiting Friday's start against the Mets, and his outlook will remain up in the air as he continues to be evaluated.
