Signs tender
Thu, Jun 11, 2026, 7:38 PM
Hickman signed his restricted free-agent tender with the Browns on Thursday, Dominic Pagura of SI.com reports.
Analysis: The move keeps the safety in Cleveland for at least 2026. Hickman broke out last season, finishing with 103 tackles (51 solo) and seven pass breakups, including two interceptions. He should play a starting role again in the coming campaign.
Jerry Jeudy
Jerry Jeudy Held out of team drills
Thu, Jun 11, 2026, 4:55 PM
Jeudy (hamstring) didn't participate in team drills Thursday, Ashley Bastock of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.
Analysis: Per Mary Kay Cabot of The Cleveland Plain Dealer, coach Todd Monken noted that Jeudy felt something in his hamstring Thursday, and as a result the Browns erred on the side of caution with the wideout on the final day of their mandatory minicamp. Jeudy -- who logged 50-602-2 line on 106 targets in 17 regular-season games last season -- should be past the issue by the time training camp starts, and looking ahead he'll continue to lead a Cleveland WR corps that's been bolstered by the addition of promising 2026 draftees KC Concepcion (Rd.1) and Denzel Boston (Rd.2).
Quinshon Judkins
Quinshon Judkins Looks explosive at OTAs
Thu, Jun 11, 2026, 10:56 AM
Browns head coach Todd Monken said Wednesday that Judkins (ankle) has looked confident and explosive at OTAs, Chris Easterling of the Akron Beacon Journal reports.
Analysis: Judkins has been a full participant in spring practices by all accounts, despite suffering a dislocated right ankle and fractured fibula in Week 16 last season. Year-after results have often been poor for players with similar injuries, but most of them (including Tampa Bay's Chris Godwin) suffered damage lower down their leg/ankle. Judkins' injury was higher up on the ankle, which seemingly helped him avoid significant ligament damage and set up a rehab process that's not as tricky as Godwin's (or Cam Skattebo's). Monken is pleased with Judkins' progress this offseason, but the Browns' new head coach did qualify his statements to a degree, telling reporters, "we'll just see when [Judkins] gets the pads on."
Shedeur Sanders
Shedeur Sanders Continues to share first-team reps
Tue, Jun 9, 2026, 7:59 PM
Sanders and Deshaun Watson are slated to continue splitting first-team QB reps during the Browns' current mandatory minicamp, Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.
Analysis: Sanders took first-team reps Tuesday, while Watson will Wednesday. The two are then in line to split those reps Thursday. The report indicates that coach Todd Monken had hoped to have a more established QB pecking order by now, but he acknowledged Tuesday that he's unlikely to name a starter by the end of the minicamp, which concludes Thursday. Cabot suggests that early on in the competition Watson appeared to have the advantage, but now notes that that Sanders has "made it a game." Per Monken, "they both played well enough to earn out the right to compete to start," and as a result this is a job battle that figures to carry into training camp.
Not doing team drills at minicamp
Tue, Jun 9, 2026, 7:51 PM
Ward (neck) did not participate in full team drills during the Browns' minicamp Tuesday, Daniel Oyefusi of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: After missing voluntary OTAs recently, Ward is at least back in Cleveland's facility for mandatory minicamp. It's not clear at this point if his limitations are due to the neck injury he suffered during last year's season finale at Cincinnati or if they're related to a contract dispute, but it's possible a new deal could be in Ward's near future regardless.
In walking boot
Tue, Jun 9, 2026, 6:43 PM
Graham (lower leg) was not participating during the Browns' minicamp Tuesday, Daniel Oyefusi of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: It's unclear precisely why the walking boot on Graham's right foot is needed, but it's something to keep an eye on as training camp approaches. While Graham is out, free agent acquisition Kalia Davis could see increased reps on the defensive line with the first team.
Deshaun Watson
Deshaun Watson Starting QB decision not imminent
Tue, Jun 9, 2026, 5:36 PM
Coach Todd Monken acknowledged Tuesday that he's unlikely to name a starting QB (between Watson and Shedeur Sanders) by the conclusion of the team's current minicamp, which runs through Thursday, Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.
Analysis: The report notes that Monken had hoped to have a better idea of the team's QB pecking order by the end of the minicamp, but it looks like the competition will carry into training camp. With that in mind, Monken said that thus far Watson and Sanders have "both played well enough to earn out the right to compete to start." While Sanders took all the Browns' first-team QB reps during Tuesday's practice, Watson will take them Wednesday, and on Thursday the two will split those reps.
Harold Fannin Jr.
Harold Fannin Not practicing this spring
Tue, Jun 9, 2026, 1:23 PM
Fannin (undisclosed) hasn't practiced during OTAs or minicamp this spring, Zac Jackson of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: Fannin dealt with a groin injury at the end of the 2025 season, but it's unclear if his continued absence this spring is related. He did take part in a voluntary workout back in April, but the tight end has been off to the side working with the training staff for the past several weeks. Fannin's current issue doesn't appear to be serious, but it's unclear if he'll be ready for the start of training camp next month. He's expected to be a focal point of the Browns' passing offense in 2026 after he posted 72 catches for 731 yards and six touchdowns on 107 targets across 16 regular-season appearances during his rookie campaign.
Lands on reserve/retired list
Tue, Jun 2, 2026, 9:21 PM
The Browns placed Watts (undisclosed) on the reserve/retired list Tuesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Analysis: Watts is retiring despite having just signed with the Browns earlier this year. The 26-year-old finished his career with 13 tackles (six solo), including 1.5 sacks, across 22 games, all with the Buccaneers.
Officially traded to Browns
Mon, Jun 1, 2026, 2:08 PM
The Rams officially traded Verse, a 2027 first-round pick, a 2028 second-round pick and a 2029 third-round pick to Cleveland in exchange for Myles Garrett on Monday.
Analysis: Verse is entering Year 3 of his NFL career as a two-time Pro Bowler and fresh off a 2025 campaign in which he tallied 58 tackles (35 solo), including 7.5 sacks, a pass defensed and three forced fumbles over 17 regular-season games. He now replaces Garrett as the clear leader of the Browns' pass-rush corps, joining a young defense that also features LB Carson Schwesinger (ankle), the reigning Defensive Rookie of the Year. While Verse, the 2024 Defensive Rookie of the Year, won't have the benefit of lining up alongside Byron Young in 2026, he will have every opportunity to take the next step forward in his development under DC Mike Rutenberg.
Trade to Rams being finalized
Mon, Jun 1, 2026, 12:27 PM
The Browns are finalizing a trade Monday that will send Garrett to the Rams, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Analysis: Garrett, who tallied a career-high 23.0 sacks across 17 regular-season appearances in 2025, reportedly will be dealt to Los Angeles with Cleveland receiving edge rusher Jared Verse, a 2027 first-round pick and other draft compensation in return. The transaction is a substantial all-in maneuver by the Rams, as the team works to maximize the competitive window of veteran quarterback Matthew Stafford, who inked a one-year extension in mid-May. Garrett remains one of the most impactful defensive players in the league and will arguably see his IDP fantasy prospects rise even further once the trade is finalized.
Reverts to Browns' IR
Wed, May 27, 2026, 6:59 PM
Nicholson (undisclosed) reverted from waivers to the Browns' injured reserve list Wednesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Analysis: It's not immediately clear what kind of injury Nicholson is working through, but he's now on track to spend the entire 2026 season on IR unless he's able to negotiate an injury settlement with the team. For now, his absence could free up additional opportunities for fellow rookie undrafted free agent cornerbacks Nate Evans and Michael Coats.
Sustains leg injury
Wed, May 27, 2026, 2:48 PM
Hall was helped off the field by trainers after sustaining a right leg injury during Cleveland's OTAs on Wednesday, Chris Easterling of the Akron Beacon Journal reports.
Analysis: The 2024 second-round pick from Ohio State has appeared in 17 games across his two seasons in the NFL, recording 25 total tackles, including 2.5 sacks, while playing 405 defensive snaps. Once Hall returns to full health, he's expected to operate as one of the Browns' top rotational interior defensive linemen.
Played through broken rib
Wed, May 20, 2026, 3:49 PM
Graham told reporters Wednesday that he played through a broken rib at the end of the 2025 season, Dan Labbe of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.
Analysis: Despite dealing with a broken rib, Graham appeared in all 17 of the Browns' contests during his rookie campaign, recording 49 total tackles, including 0.5 sacks, and four passes defensed. Heading into his second NFL season, the Michigan product is likely to remain an integral portion of Cleveland's defensive front.
Shedeur Sanders
Shedeur Sanders Splitting first-team reps with Watson?
Wed, May 20, 2026, 2:05 PM
Shedeur and Deshaun Watson split first-team reps for most of Wednesday's practice, but Watson then took all the reps at the end in a simulated hurry-up drill, Daniel Oyefusi of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Reports from Cleveland beat writers are slightly conflicting, but there seems to be agreement that Watson went first through the rotation in early practice periods, before Sanders took the first snap in full-team drills. Watson then handled the special period at the end of practice. It sounds like Dillon Gabriel and Taylen Green didn't get much first-team work, if any, but the rotation could look different as soon as the next practice. Head coach Todd Monken has mentioned his preference for naming a starting QB before the start of training camp, though he eased off his prior statements Wednesday, telling reporters, "we'll have it set for [Week 1 at Jacksonville]," per Daniel Oyefusi of ESPN.com.
Deshaun Watson
Deshaun Watson First QB through drills
Wed, May 20, 2026, 12:38 PM
Watson was the first QB through the rotation at Wednesday's practice, Chris Easterling of the Akron Beacon Journal reports.
Analysis: Watson took the first snap in individual drills and 7-on-7s, but Sanders then went first in 11-on-11s, per Zac Jackson of The Athletic. The two split first-team snaps for the rest of the session, with Watson then taking over at the end for a hurry-up simulation. For individual drills, Sanders was second through the rotation, with Dillon Gabriel going third and Taylen Green predictably last. It's more or less what was expected, given that Watson has 72 NFL starts to his name and is competing with a trio of mid-round picks from the past two drafts. What's less clear is if the initial position means anything beyond deference to age/experience. Browns head coach Todd Monken seems to take Sanders seriously as a candidate for the starting job, and it wouldn't be surprising to see Gabriel (or even Green) take some first-team reps as well.
Quinshon Judkins
Quinshon Judkins Taking 11-on-11 reps
Wed, May 20, 2026, 12:19 PM
Judkins (ankle) is taking carries in 11-on-11s, Chris Easterling of the Akron Beacon Journal reports.
Analysis: Five months removed from surgery on a broken leg and a dislocated ankle, Judkins is already sprinting and making cuts during team drills at OTAs. While this rapid progress doesn't automatically mean he'll be a full participant when contact work begins in late July, it proves he is ahead of schedule in his rehab and on track for a Week 1 start. The Browns have shaky depth behind him in the backfield, rostering 2025 fourth-round pick Dylan Sampson and a quartet of undrafted young players.
Aaron Anderson
Aaron Anderson Headed to Cleveland
Tue, May 19, 2026, 7:09 PM
The Browns signed Anderson as an undrafted free agent Tuesday.
Analysis: Anderson spent his entire collegiate career at LSU, catching 106 passes for 1,341 yards and five touchdowns across three seasons. He will spend the remainder of the offseason competing for a spot on Cleveland's final roster.
Claimed by Browns
Fri, May 8, 2026, 7:39 PM
The Browns claimed Chatman off waivers from the Giants on Friday.
Analysis: Chatman played 22 games for the Giants over the previous two seasons, recording 24 tackles and 1.0 sacks. The 25-year-old will compete for a depth role on Cleveland's stout defensive line.
Kole Wilson
Kole Wilson Joining Cleveland
Fri, May 8, 2026, 1:47 PM
The Browns signed Wilson as an undrafted free agent Friday.
Analysis: Wilson ended his collegiate career at Baylor, where he totaled 44 receptions for 591 yards and five touchdowns over 12 games. The wide receiver also fielded 30 kickoff returns for 705 yards during the 2025 season. The Browns selected both KC Concepcion and Denzel Boston in the 2026 NFL Draft, meaning any path to playing time for Wilson is likely to come through the special-teams unit as a returner.
