Present for minicamp
Mon, Jun 15, 2026, 12:03 PM
Pearce was present for his physical Monday prior to the Falcons' mandatory minicamp, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Analysis: The report notes that Pearce has entered a diversion program to resolve to his legal matter stemming from a Feb. 7 incident which included being charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon. NFL spokesperson Brian McCarthy indicated to ESPN on Monday that Pearce's situation "remains under review of the (league's) personal conduct policy." As a rookie last year, Pearce -- who is expected to take the field during this week's minicamp -- recorded 26 tackles, including 10.5 sacks, in 17 regular-season games.
Moves to reserve/PUP list
Thu, Jun 11, 2026, 7:58 PM
Norton (foot) was placed on the reserve/PUP list by the Falcons on Thursday, Will McFadden of the team's official site reports.
Analysis: The offensive tackle missed the 2025 campaign due to a foot injury and appears to still be dealing with it. Norton returned from surgery last October and practiced for three weeks, but he was never activated from injured reserve. Atlanta has an opening at tackle after the retirement of Kaleb McGary, though former Chief Jawaan Taylor is expected to fill it.
Heading to Atlanta
Thu, Jun 11, 2026, 7:00 PM
Morris was traded to the Falcons by the Chiefs on Thursday, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: The 2023 third-round pick started 16 regular-season games across three seasons with Kansas City, but he found himself on the outside looking in at KC's starting lineup for 2026. Jake Matthews and Jawaan Taylor project as Atlanta's starting tackles for the upcoming season, but Morris might have a chance to compete for time.
Michael Penix Jr.
Michael Penix Team reps at minicamp TBD
Tue, Jun 9, 2026, 12:50 PM
Falcons head coach Kevin Stefanski declined to announce Monday whether or not Penix (knee) will be ready to handle 11-on-11 reps during mandatory minicamp next week, Marc Raimondi of ESPN reports.
Analysis: Stefanski said during OTAs in May that clearance for Penix to handle team reps would be "coming soon" and that the quarterback has impressed in 7-on-7 drills, but it remains to be seen whether the 2024 first-round pick will be on the field for full-team activities during minicamp. The 26-year-old had a scheduled day off Monday, and Stefanski said he is "hitting every milestone he's supposed to hit" in his rehab. Penix is recovering from mid-November surgery to repair a partially torn left ACL. Stefanski also noted that Atlanta's quarterback competition between Penix and Tua Tagovailoa will not truly begin until both players are available for full-team reps.
Zachariah Branch
Zachariah Branch Standing out at OTAs
Thu, Jun 4, 2026, 4:19 PM
Branch is making an impression with his speed and explosiveness at OTAs, according to Will McFadden of atlantafalcons.com.
Analysis: New Falcons QB Tua Tagovailoa said Thursday that Branch "kind of reminds me of [Jaylen] Waddle." High praise, though the Falcons would settle for less after taking Branch in the third round of the 2026 NFL Draft, 79th overall. He joins a WR room where nothing is certain beyond Drake London, leaving Branch to compete for playing time with Jahan Dotson, Olamide Zaccheaus and others. Branch ran a 4.35-second 40-yard dash at the 2026 Scouting Combine, but he's on the small side (5-foot-9, 177 pounds) even for a slot receiver. If nothing else, the Falcons figure to use Branch as a gadget player and return specialist. ESPN.com's Mark Schlabach reports that Georgia prosecutors recently dropped misdemeanor charges against Branch, who was arrested April 19 after failing "to comply with multiple verbal lawful commands" to not block a sidewalk outside of a crowded bar. It doesn't sound like anything that would warrant NFL discipline.
Drake London
Drake London Inks extension with Falcons
Tue, Jun 2, 2026, 5:28 PM
London has agreed to a four-year extension with the Falcons, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Analysis: Per Adam Schefter of ESPN, London's new deal is a four-year $141 million pact worth up to $150 million that includes $100 million guaranteed. The 2022 first-rounder, who is coming off a 2025 campaign during which he recorded a 68-919-7 receiving line across 12 contests, is thus under contract with the Falcons through the 2030 campaign. Looking ahead, the 24-year-old will continue to see plenty of volume in a pass-catching corps that also includes fellow WRs Jahan Dotson, Olamide Zaccheaus and Zachariah Branch, as well as TE Kyle Pitts. However, at this stage it remains to seen who ends up throwing them the ball come Week 1, with Michael Penix and Tua Tagovailoa slated to compete for Atlanta's top QB job.
Out of boot
Wed, May 27, 2026, 2:25 PM
Head coach Kevin Stefanski told reporters Wednesday that Daniels is "good to go" and "out of the boot" that he was in last week, Marc Raimondi of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Daniels, a 2026 fourth-round pick from Oklahoma, appeared to have picked up a lower-leg injury during Atlanta's OTAs. However, it appears he's already moved past the issue. During his final collegiate season, the 23-year-old posted 53 total tackles, including nine tackles for loss, and three passes defensed over 13 contests. Expect Daniels to play a depth role in the Falcons' linebacker corps during his rookie campaign.
Michael Penix Jr.
Michael Penix Not yet cleared for full-team drills
Wed, May 27, 2026, 11:11 AM
Falcons head coach Kevin Stefanski said Wednesday that Penix (ACL) has not yet been cleared for 11-on-11 drills at OTAs, Marc Raimondi of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Penix took part in non-contact 7-on-7 drills and individual work during OTAs in mid-May, but he's not yet ready to ramp up his participation level to 11-on-11 activities. In the meantime, the full allotment of such reps will go the way of Tua Tagovailoa. Once Penix is fully recovered from the surgery he underwent in mid-November of the 2025 season to repair a partially torn left ACL, however, he and Tagovailoa will be slated to compete for No. 1 reps. Stefanski declined to offer a specific assessment of Penix's rehab progress to date, per Raimondi, though he said the 2024 first-round pick is doing "outstanding" and is "exactly where he needs to be" despite not yet being "100 percent."
Has been participating in OTAs
Sat, May 23, 2026, 2:57 PM
Verdon (shoulder) has been taking part in Atlanta's OTAs.
Analysis: Verdon signed with the Falcons as an undrafted free agent last May but didn't see any time during his rookie campaign. He began the season on the reserve/non-football injury list, and though he was designated to return in mid-November, Verdon ultimately wasn't activated. Verdon now appears to be back to health and will have a chance during the preseason to compete for a depth spot in the Falcons' secondary.
Has been taking part in OTAs
Sat, May 23, 2026, 2:48 PM
Dorlus (hamstring) has been participating in the Falcons' OTAs.
Analysis: Dorlus hurt his hamstring in Week 17 of last season and missed Atlanta's Week 18 matchup versus New Orleans. He was a key contributor for the team's defense prior to getting hurt, starting nine of the 15 games in which he played and tallying 27 tackles, including 8.5 sacks. Dorlus appears to be fully healthy again and is slated to have a big role for the Falcons again in 2026.
Cash Jones
Cash Jones Pushing for roster spot
Thu, May 21, 2026, 6:25 PM
Jones is pushing for a spot on the Falcons' roster as a gadget player, Josh Kendall of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: Jones is officially listed as a running back, but the undrafted rookie out of Georgia has been frequently working with the wide receivers during the offseason program. Head coach Kevin Stefanski has lauded Jones for his versatility and intelligence, and the team is cooking up ways to use him on special teams. The latter part is key, as Jones will need to excel on offense and special teams to carve out a role in the regular season.
Recovering well from injury
Tue, May 19, 2026, 7:42 PM
Head coach Kevin Stefanski said that Bowman is recovering well from his Achilles injury, Tori McElhaney of the Falcons' official site reports.
Analysis: Bowman is closer to being at full health after suffering a torn Achilles last November. While the 23-year-old will be available for Atlanta's walkthroughs, he still isn't healthy enough to be a full participant in practice.
Michael Penix Jr.
Michael Penix Taking part in 7-on-7s
Tue, May 19, 2026, 11:32 AM
Penix (knee) will participate in 7-on-7s and individual drills Tuesday, Marc Raimondi of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Practices in May are no-contact, and mostly at less than full speed. It's nonetheless a good sign for Penix to be on the field in any fashion less than six months removed from surgery to repair the third ACL tear of his football career. Falcons coach Kevin Stefanski hinted at a return to full-team drills in the not-so-distant future, but that doesn't necessarily mean Penix will be cleared for contact during training camp in late July. Stefanski also mentioned that the team will be "very intentional" about splitting reps between Penix and Tua Tagovailoa, per Tori McElhaney of the team's official site. The Falcons have made it clear they signed Tagovailoa to compete for the starting job, even if Penix clears all medical hurdles long before Week 1.

Michael Penix Taking part in throwing drills
Wed, May 13, 2026, 9:31 AM
The Falcons shared a video Tuesday showing Penix (knee - ACL) throwing to Drake London during spring offseason workouts, Marc Raimondi of ESPN reports.
Analysis: Penix is six months into his recovery from a partially torn left ACL suffered in mid-November of the 2025 season, his third such injury in the last eight years, so his participation in throwing drills is an encouraging sign. Atlanta has confirmed that the third-year QB is taking part in Phase 2 of the offseason program, which includes individual and group work but not yet 7-on-7 or 11-on-11 team drills. Beyond continuing his rehab and meeting the expected trajectory of Year 3 development, Penix also faces the challenge of learning new head coach Kevin Stefanski's offense while competing for the starting job with fellow southpaw Tua Tagovailoa, who signed a one-year, $1.3 million deal with Atlanta this offseason. Penix has offered optimism that he will be ready for Week 1, though the Falcons haven't provided an official timetable for his recovery.
Latches on with Atlanta
Thu, May 7, 2026, 9:04 PM
The Falcons signed Marion as an undrafted free agent Thursday, Tori McElhaney of the team's official site reports.
Analysis: Marion finished his collegiate career with Miami-Fla. in 2025, securing 57 of 77 targets for 746 yards and two touchdowns over 16 contests while also adding 293 yards on 12 kickoff returns. The wide receiver will likely have to impress as a special-teams option in order to crack Atlanta's 53-man roster in 2026.
Cash Jones
Cash Jones Signs with Atlanta
Thu, May 7, 2026, 8:54 PM
The Falcons signed Jones as an undrafted free agent Thursday, Tori McElhaney of the team's official site reports.
Analysis: Jones was scarcely used during his five-year collegiate career with Georgia, most recently turning 13 carries into 15 yards while also reeling in 20 of 25 targets for 195 yards and a touchdown over 13 contests in 2025. The running back will look to impress at Atlanta's rookie minicamp in an attempt to potentially stick around for the 2026 season.
Jack Velling
Jack Velling Secures contract with Atlanta
Thu, May 7, 2026, 8:47 PM
The Falcons signed Velling as an undrafted free agent Thursday, Tori McElhaney of the team's official site reports.
Analysis: Velling wrapped his collegiate career with Michigan State in 2025, reeling in 36 of 45 targets for 359 yards and three touchdowns. The tight end possesses a 6-foot-5, 245-pound frame, and he'll look to compete with Charlie Woerner, Joshua Simon and Brandon Frazier for a reserve role on Atlanta's 53-man roster in 2026.
Vinny Anthony II
Vinny Anthony Signs deal with Atlanta
Thu, May 7, 2026, 8:41 PM
The Falcons signed Anthony as an undrafted free agent Thursday, Tori McElhaney of the team's official site reports.
Analysis: Anthony caught 31 of 54 targets for 391 yards and a touchdown while also adding 27 yards and two scores on five carries over 12 contests at Wisconsin in 2025. More notably, the wide receiver compiled 446 yards and a touchdown on 16 kickoff returns, and his best path towards making the Falcons' 53-man roster is likely as a special-teams asset.
Jack Strand
Jack Strand Inks deal with Atlanta
Thu, May 7, 2026, 8:18 PM
The Falcons signed Strand as an undrafted free agent Thursday, Tori McElhaney of the team's official site reports.
Analysis: Strand compiled 3,546 passing yards and 42 touchdowns through the air while completing 63 percent of his passes over 11 contests during his senior campaign with Minnesota State-Moorhead before going undrafted in April's draft. The quarterback will look to compete with Trevor Siemian for Atlanta's No. 3 QB role in 2026.
Heads to Atlanta
Thu, May 7, 2026, 8:00 PM
The Falcons signed Brockington as an undrafted free agent Thursday, Tori McElhaney of the team's official site reports.
Analysis: Brockington led Minnesota with 484 receiving yards as a senior, adding four touchdowns along the way. The 5-foot-10, 199-pound wide receiver likely needs to make an impact on special teams to earn a role on the 53-man roster.
