Kody Clemens
Kody Clemens Goes yard in third straight game
Sat, Jul 4, 2026, 6:39 PM
Clemens went 2-for-4 with a walk, a home run, two runs scored and three RBI in Saturday's 11-4 win over the Yankees.
Analysis: The 30-year-old slugger homered for a third straight game when he took Brendan Beck deep for a two-run shot in the first inning, the first of six long balls by the Twins on the afternoon. Clemens is up to 16 home runs on the season, and five of them have come in his last eight contests -- a stretch in which he's batting .303 (10-for-33) with 10 runs and 12 RBI.
Josh Bell
Josh Bell Huge performance in win over Yanks
Sat, Jul 4, 2026, 6:35 PM
Bell went 3-for-5 with a double, two home runs and three RBI in Saturday's 11-4 win over the Yankees.
Analysis: The veteran DH led the charge in an 11-hit, six-homer barrage by the Twins, as Bell launched a solo shot off Ryan Yarbrough in the seventh inning and a two-run blast in the eighth off Camilo Doval. The 10 total bases were a season high, continuing a power surge that has seen Bell go yard four times in the last five games. Over his last 24 contests, he's batting .307 (27-for-88) with 15 extra-base hits including eight home runs, along with 15 runs and 26 RBI.
Byron Buxton
Byron Buxton Drives in two in return to lineup
Sat, Jul 4, 2026, 6:29 PM
Buxton went 1-for-3 with a walk, a double, a run scored and two RBI in Saturday's 11-4 rout of the Yankees.
Analysis: Returning to the lineup in center field after missing the prior four games due to a hip issue, Buxton immediately cleared up concerns about his health by ripping an RBI double off the wall in left field in his first plate appearance. The 32-year-old has suited up for 74 of the Twins' 90 contests so far this season, putting him on pace to top 130 games played for the first time since 2017, and he's compiled a .269/.326/.574 slash line with 25 homers, seven steals, 45 RBI and 57 runs.
Zebby Matthews
Zebby Matthews Exits game with foot injury
Sat, Jul 4, 2026, 2:47 PM
Matthews was removed during the fifth inning of Saturday's start against the Yankees due to a right foot laceration, Brendan Kuty of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: Matthews kept the Yankees off the board until getting tagged for a run in the fourth inning, before giving up another three runs in the fifth. Those struggles may have been due to his foot injury, and he'll end his day having allowed four runs on three hits (two homers) and four walks while striking out five across 4.2 innings. It's unclear whether the injury will prevent Matthews from making another turn in the rotation, with his next start slated for next weekend at home against the Angels.
Victor Caratini
Victor Caratini Idle Saturday
Sat, Jul 4, 2026, 9:43 AM
Caratini is not in the Twins' starting lineup against the Yankees on Saturday.
Analysis: Caratini will get a breather while Alex Jackson starts behind home plate and bats ninth while forming a battery with right-hander Zebby Matthews. Caratini has a 1.021 OPS with five home runs, 15 RBI and four doubles over 85 plate appearances since June 1.
Byron Buxton
Byron Buxton Back in action Saturday
Sat, Jul 4, 2026, 9:35 AM
Buxton (hip) will start in center field and bat second against the Yankees on Saturday.
Analysis: Buxton missed each of the Twins' last four games due to a right hip impingement, but the veteran outfielder has been given the green light to return to action Saturday. He finished the month of June with a .287/.330/.596 slash line with three steals, eight home runs and 16 RBI across 100 plate appearances.
Mike Paredes
Mike Paredes Still searching for first win
Sat, Jul 4, 2026, 6:50 AM
Paredes (0-2) took the loss Friday, giving up three runs on four hits and two walks over four innings as the Twins fell 5-2 to the Yankees. He struck out two.
Analysis: The right-hander's outing was split into two two-inning chunks thanks to a 53-minute rain delay, and Paredes was lifted after 81 pitches (49 strikes) having served up homers to Trent Grisham in the first inning and Ben Rice in the third to account for all the damage against him. Paredes has been taken deep five times in five starts and 22 innings since moving into the rotation while posting a 4.50 ERA and 1.36 WHIP, but he could be bumped to the bullpen or back to Triple-A St. Paul before getting another turn with Bailey Ober (elbow) currently finishing up a rehab assignment.
Ryan Jeffers
Ryan Jeffers Kicking off rehab assignment Friday
Fri, Jul 3, 2026, 2:19 PM
Jeffers (hand) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A St. Paul on Friday, Aaron Gleeman of AaronGleeman.com reports.
Analysis: Jeffers will be in the Saints' lineup as the designated hitter, roughly six weeks after undergoing surgery for a fractured left hamate bone. Prior to going down with the injury, Jeffers was enjoying a career-best season, slashing .295/.408/.541 with seven homers, 26 RBI, 26 runs scored, one stolen base and a 23:23 BB:K across 148 plate appearances. He could be back with the Twins before the All-Star break.
Byron Buxton
Byron Buxton Remains sidelined Friday
Fri, Jul 3, 2026, 1:43 PM
Buxton (hip) remains out of the lineup for Friday's game against the Yankees.
Analysis: Even after an off day Thursday, Buxton isn't ready to return to the starting lineup and will miss his fourth straight contest. Ryan Kreidler is manning center field again in his place and batting seventh against right-hander Gerrit Cole.
Day-to-day with hand injury
Thu, Jul 2, 2026, 10:39 AM
Culpepper was held out of the lineup Wednesday for Triple-A St. Paul's 3-2 loss to Buffalo due to an apparent left hand injury, Theodore Tollefson of ZoneCoverage.com reports.
Analysis: During Tuesday's contest, Culpepper was hit on the hand by a pitch in the first inning. He was able to take his base, but he was then lifted from the game ahead of the second inning. According to Tollefson, Culpepper is still awaiting the results of X-rays on his hand and is being viewed as day-to-day. Culpepper had recently recovered from a left hip strain, which kept him out of action at St. Paul for just over two weeks.
Connor Prielipp
Connor Prielipp Won't make start this week
Thu, Jul 2, 2026, 10:30 AM
Prielipp isn't listed among the Twins' probable starting pitchers for their three-game weekend series versus the Yankees in New York.
Analysis: The Twins will end up going with a four-man rotation during their six-game week, with Prielipp having his turn skipped after he struck out a career-high 10 batters over six innings in his last outing Sunday against the Rockies. Prielipp has covered six innings and tossed 90-plus pitches in four of his last five starts, so the Twins may simply be looking to manage the workload of the 25-year-old lefty, who previously underwent Tommy John surgery in 2021 and a UCL repair with an internal brace in July 2023. If he isn't used out of the bullpen over the weekend, Prielipp will likely re-enter the rotation at some point during the Twins' home series with the Guardians that runs Tuesday through Thursday.
Taj Bradley
Taj Bradley Fans 11 in win
Wed, Jul 1, 2026, 11:22 PM
Bradley (7-3) allowed one run on four hits and three walks while striking out 11 over five innings to earn the win over Houston on Wednesday.
Analysis: Bradley threw five solid innings, with his only hiccup in the first inning, and struck out his season high 11 batters. The righty has now pitched three straight good starts for the Twins where he has allowed only five runs in 17 innings to lower his ERA to 3.86. The 25-year-old is slated to pitch next week against the Guardians.
Recovers from broken arm
Wed, Jul 1, 2026, 1:37 PM
Single-A Fort Myers reinstated Barr (arm) from its 60-day injured list June 23 and assigned him to the rookie-level Florida Complex League.
Analysis: Barr opened the season on Fort Myers' IL after he developed a stress fracture in his right arm during spring training. He was cleared to begin a rehab assignment in the FCL on May 25 and looks like he'll end up sticking around with the affiliate for a little while longer before potentially moving back up to the Twins' Florida State League affiliate. Through six starts in the Complex League, Barr has turned in a 6.00 ERA, 1.50 WHIP and 12:9 K:BB in 12 innings.
Byron Buxton
Byron Buxton Out for third straight game
Wed, Jul 1, 2026, 12:46 PM
Buxton (hip) is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Astros.
Analysis: The Twins are viewing Buxton day-to-day while he recovers from a right hip impingement, which will keep him on the bench for a third consecutive game. Minnesota is off Thursday, so Buxton's condition will presumably be reassessed Friday, when the team opens a three-game series versus the Yankees. Ryan Kreidler will pick up another start in center field Wednesday in place of Buxton.
Luke Keaschall
Luke Keaschall Receiving break Tuesday
Tue, Jun 30, 2026, 5:56 PM
Keaschall is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Astros.
Analysis: After making his first 72 starts of the season at second base, Keaschall moved to right field for his last four starts. Though Keaschall will give way to Austin Martin on Tuesday, the Twins appear committed to giving the 23-year-old an extended look at the new position, so he could soon gain outfield eligibility in fantasy leagues. That said, Keaschall may need to improve his all-around production before managers in shallower leagues can feel comfortable including him in lineups at any position. While he's stayed healthy throughout the season and has been a solid source of speed with 12 stolen bases, Keaschall's numbers are lacking in just about every other category (.245 average, two home runs, 40 runs, 24 RBI).
Byron Buxton
Byron Buxton Sitting again Tuesday
Tue, Jun 30, 2026, 3:29 PM
Buxton (hip) is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Astros, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.
Analysis: It's the second straight absence from the lineup for Buxton, who is considered day-to-day after an MRI revealed a right hip impingement. The center fielder appears to have avoided a serious injury, though it wouldn't be surprising if the Twins also hold him out for Wednesday's series finale in Houston since the club has a team day off Thursday.
Byron Buxton
Byron Buxton Day-to-day with hip issue
Mon, Jun 29, 2026, 10:35 PM
Buxton is being considered day-to-day due to a right hip impingement, Dan Hayes of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: It initially look as though Buxton was set to receive a scheduled night off Monday, but skipper Derek Shelton stated after the game that the star center fielder was sent for an MRI, which showed a right hip issue. This appears to be a minor injury for Buxton, who will likely be re-evaluated Tuesday to determine his status for the second game of the series.
Cody Laweryson
Cody Laweryson Back in big-league bullpen
Mon, Jun 29, 2026, 4:18 PM
The Twins recalled Laweryson from Triple-A St. Paul on Monday.
Analysis: He's taking the roster spot vacated by Anthony Banda (lat), who was moved to the injured list. Laweryson holds a 5.06 ERA and 18:7 K:BB over 16 covering 14 appearances during his time with the Twins this season.
Anthony Banda
Anthony Banda Shelved by strained lat
Mon, Jun 29, 2026, 4:16 PM
The Twins placed Banda on the 15-day injured list Monday with a left lat strain.
Analysis: Banda logged a hold in Sunday's win over the Rockies but evidently came out of the appearance with an injury. Manager Derek Shelton said Monday that Banda's strain is significant, and the reliever will be sidelined for months, not weeks, Matthew Leach of MLB.com reports.
Byron Buxton
Byron Buxton Receiving night off
Mon, Jun 29, 2026, 4:02 PM
Buxton is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Astros.
Analysis: Buxton had started every game dating back to June 9, so the Twins may have decided that he was due for a night off. Ryan Kreidler will receive the start in center field in place of Buxton, who could probably benefit from a break after going hitless in three of his last four games.
