Chase DeLauter
Chase DeLauter Hit streak at 10 games
Wed, Jul 1, 2026, 5:24 PM
DeLauter went 3-for-5 with a double, a run scored, an RBI and a stolen base in Wednesday's 9-4 win over the Rangers.
Analysis: The rookie right fielder paced the Guardians' 11-hit attack on the afternoon, as DeLauter extended his hit streak to 10 games -- a streak that began in early June, prior to a two-week stint on the IL due to a rib injury. Over four contests since coming off the IL, the 24-year-old has gone 8-for-18 (.444) with three doubles, three runs and four RBI.
Joey Cantillo
Joey Cantillo Nabs win despite shaky control
Wed, Jul 1, 2026, 5:20 PM
Cantillo (7-3) picked up the win in Wednesday's 9-4 victory over the Rangers, allowing two runs on three hits and five walks over five innings. He struck out four.
Analysis: The five free passes were a season-worst performance from Cantillo, who tossed just 53 of 93 pitches for strikes, but the left-hander was able to limit the damage as all three hits off him were singles. He's won three of his last four starts while not giving up more than two runs in any of those outings, posting a 1.88 ERA, 0.96 WHIP and 25:8 K:BB through 24 innings over that stretch. Cantillo will look to tighten things up in his next trip to the mound, which lines up to come on the road early next week in Minnesota.
Moves up to Double-A
Wed, Jul 1, 2026, 2:13 PM
The Guardians promoted Doughty from High-A Lake County to Double-A Akron on Tuesday.
Analysis: Cleveland will bump Doughty up to Double-A after he submitted a 3.02 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 74:11 K:BB in 59.2 innings with Lake County. As reflected in his minuscule 4.3 percent walk rate, the 20-year-old righty boasts plus control and leans heavily on his curveball to make bats miss.
Shelved with oblique strain
Wed, Jul 1, 2026, 2:08 PM
Double-A Akron placed Hill on its 7-day injured list Tuesday due to a right oblique strain.
Analysis: Hill hadn't played since last Wednesday due to the injury, and Akron could opt to hold him out through the All-Star break to give him extra time to heal. The 22-year-old has slashed .224/.288/.388 with one home run and three stolen bases over 73 plate appearances at Akron since receiving a promotion from High-A Lake County on June 2.
Cooper Ingle
Cooper Ingle Bound for bench Wednesday
Wed, Jul 1, 2026, 9:00 AM
Ingle is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Rangers.
Analysis: Ingle will join fellow left-handed hitters Travis Bazzana and Steven Kwan on the bench while southpaw MacKenzie Gore takes the hill for the Rangers. David Fry will draw the start in left field in place of Ingle, who has gone 1-for-11 with three walks, two RBI and one run in his first four MLB games since being called up from Triple-A Columbus last week. The rookie also committed a mental error Tuesday that allowed the winning run to score in a 4-2 victory for Texas.
Travis Bazzana
Travis Bazzana Day off amid rough patch
Wed, Jul 1, 2026, 8:59 AM
Bazzana is not in the lineup for Wednesday's contest versus the Rangers.
Analysis: Bazzana has gone just 2-for-29 with a 1:10 BB:K over his last seven games. Additionally, the Rangers are starting southpaw MacKenzie Gore, presenting a good opportunity for the left-swinging Bazzana to get a break during the afternoon contest. Daniel Schneemann will fill in for the Guardians at second base.
Steven Kwan
Steven Kwan Sitting against southpaw Wednesday
Wed, Jul 1, 2026, 8:59 AM
Kwan is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Rangers.
Analysis: The Guardians will hold the left-handed-hitting Kwan out of the starting nine for the series finale while southpaw MacKenzie Gore takes the bump for Texas. Kahlil Watson will slide over from his usual spot in right field to replace Kwan in center.
Patrick Bailey
Patrick Bailey Hitting bench Wednesday
Wed, Jul 1, 2026, 8:57 AM
Bailey is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Rangers.
Analysis: Bailey will get a breather for the Wednesday afternoon game after playing nine innings behind the plate in a 4-2 loss Tuesday night. Austin Hedges will handle catching duties for the Guardians.
Tanner Bibee
Tanner Bibee Stuck with loss in quality start
Wed, Jul 1, 2026, 7:38 AM
Bibee (2-9) took the loss Tuesday as the Guardians fell 4-2 to the Rangers, allowing three runs (two earned) on five hits over seven innings. He struck out two without walking a batter.
Analysis: The right-hander lasted seven innings for the third time in five June outings en route to his 10th quality start of the season, but Bibee got victimized by a mental error in left field from rookie Cooper Ingle -- with a runner on second and one out, Ingle caught a routine flyball that he thought was the final out of the seventh inning. When he threw the ball to a fan, Ezequiel Duran was able to dash home for the game-winning run. Bibee finishes with a 1.89 ERA, 0.72 WHIP and 23:7 K:BB over 33.1 innings in June, and he's lined up for a home matchup this weekend against the White Sox.
Kyle Manzardo
Kyle Manzardo Supplies offense in loss
Wed, Jul 1, 2026, 7:13 AM
Manzardo went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run in Tuesday's 4-2 loss to Texas.
Analysis: Manzardo put the Guardians up early with his two-run shot in the first inning off Jacob deGrom. It was the 10th homer of the season for the 25-year-old first baseman, whose bat has come around after a slow start to the season. Manzardo, who posted a .186/.268/.244 slash line through the end of April, has slashed .257/.351/.486 with nine homers and 22 RBI over 48 games since May 1.
Jose Ramirez
Jose Ramirez Stitches removed
Wed, Jul 1, 2026, 7:02 AM
Ramirez had stitches removed from his left hand Tuesday and could soon begin swinging a bat as the next step in his rehab process, Tim Stebbins of MLB.com reports.
Analysis: Ramirez previously had begun gripping a bat, going through fielding drills and throwing out to 140 feet before Tuesday's milestone. Cleveland manager Stephen Vogt indicated the 33-year-old third baseman is still on the same 5-to-7 week timeline. Ramirez underwent surgery on his left hamate two weeks ago.
Brayan Rocchio
Brayan Rocchio Getting breather Tuesday
Tue, Jun 30, 2026, 2:26 PM
Rocchio is absent from the lineup for Tuesday's game versus the Rangers.
Analysis: It's the first day off since May 23 for Rocchio, who has slowed in June with a .225/.276/.326 slash line. Daniel Schneemann will start at shortstop for the Guardians.
Brayan Rocchio
Brayan Rocchio Remains in upper third of order
Tue, Jun 30, 2026, 6:32 AM
Rocchio batted second and went 2-for-5 with a stolen base and a run scored in Monday's 6-3 loss to the Rangers.
Analysis: Rocchio, who extended a hit streak to five games, has held his own since being promoted from ninth in the order to the upper third. He's hit safely in nine of the last 11 contests, going 14-for-47 (.298) with four doubles, two RBI, two steals and four runs scored during that stretch. While those aren't flashy numbers, the shortstop has helped the Guardians navigate their way without key regulars Angel Martinez (foot) and Jose Ramirez (hand). Chase DeLauter was also out for the last two weeks due to a rib injury but returned Sunday.
Chase DeLauter
Chase DeLauter Making immediate impact off IL
Tue, Jun 30, 2026, 6:20 AM
DeLauter went 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI in Monday's 6-3 loss to Texas.
Analysis: DeLauter gave the Guardians a 2-1 lead in the fifth inning when he roped a line-drive RBI double. The outfielder has been limited to DH duties in his two games back from a rib injury, but DeLauter is making an impact with the bat. He's gone 4-for-9 with three RBI and a run scored since coming off the injured list, including a clutch two-out, two-run single in Sunday's comeback win over Seattle.
Yorman Gomez
Yorman Gomez Activated from MiLB IL
Mon, Jun 29, 2026, 8:12 PM
Gomez (shoulder) was activated from the 7-day injured list June 20.
Analysis: Gomez missed nearly two months of action while on the mend from a right shoulder strain. He's made two appearances for Triple-A Columbus since being activated, surrendering two runs on five hits and two walks while striking out 14 over eight innings.
Cooper Ingle
Cooper Ingle Exiting lineup Monday
Mon, Jun 29, 2026, 2:28 PM
Ingle is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Rangers.
Analysis: Ingle will head to the bench for the first time since he was called up from Triple-A Columbus on Friday. While making two starts at designated hitter and one in left field during the Guardians' weekend series versus Seattle, Ingle went 1-for-7 with three walks, two RBI and one run.
Kyle Manzardo
Kyle Manzardo Heading to bench Monday
Mon, Jun 29, 2026, 2:20 PM
Manzardo is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Rangers.
Analysis: Rhys Hoskins will draw the start at first base while southpaw Tyler Alexander opens the game for Texas, but the left-handed-hitting Manzardo could replace Hoskins at some point later in the contest once the Rangers send a right-hander to the bump. Manzardo had started each of the Guardians' last 12 games but went just 8-for-42 (.190 average) with 15 strikeouts during that stretch.
Gabriel Arias
Gabriel Arias Claiming third straight start
Mon, Jun 29, 2026, 2:14 PM
Arias will start at third base and bat eighth in Monday's game against the Rangers.
Analysis: After returning to the active roster June 14 following an extended stint on the injured list, Arias got off to a rough start while filling a utility role for the Guardians, slashing just .182/.182/.227 with 13 strikeouts in seven games. With Daniel Schneemann having endured an even longer dry spell at the plate, the Guardians appear to have turned third base over to Arias while the club awaits the return of Jose Ramirez (hand) from the injured list. Arias will draw a third consecutive start after going 2-for-5 with a stolen base and a run over the final two games of the Guardians' weekend series versus the Mariners.
Patrick Bailey
Patrick Bailey Taking seat Monday
Mon, Jun 29, 2026, 2:07 PM
Bailey is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Rangers.
Analysis: Bailey made three straight starts behind the dish before being left out of the lineup in Sunday's 6-5 win over Seattle. He ended up entering Sunday's contest as a pinch hitter, striking out in his lone at-bat while catching the game's final three innings. The Guardians may be looking to give Bailey a proper rest day Monday while Austin Hedges receives the starting nod at catcher in the series opener.
Rhys Hoskins
Rhys Hoskins Delivers clutch double in win
Sun, Jun 28, 2026, 7:21 PM
Hoskins went 2-for-2 with a double and two RBI in Sunday's 6-5 win over the Mariners.
Analysis: Hoskins entered the game as a pinch hitter for Kyle Manzardo in the seventh inning and made an immediate impact. After singling in his first plate appearance, he came through with a go-ahead two-run double in Cleveland's five-run eighth inning to help complete the comeback victory. The veteran's afternoon was a welcome boost amid an otherwise difficult month, as he is batting just .161 with a 35.2 percent strikeout rate in June.
