Tyson, who practiced once during the Saints' two-day rookie minicamp earlier this month, was one of several players on a "maintenance plan" to build them back up after having previously missed time with an injury, Katherine Terrell of ESPN reports.
Analysis: At the time, Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.Football noted that Tyson, who was the No. 8 overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, dealt with a hamstring issue during the pre-draft process, so it's not surprising that the team was inclined to manage the wideout's reps during the rookie minicamp. Next up for Tyson and his teammates will be OTA sessions May 27-28, at which point Tyson will have an opportunity to work toward claiming a key role in a New Orleans passing offense that also features WR Chris Olave and TE Juwan Johnson. As long as he can avoid the injury bug going forward, Tyson is on track to earn significant snaps out of the gate this season alongside Olave, a context that could result in immediate fantasy relevance for Tyson, an Arizona State product. |

Alvin Kamara Alvin Kamara Decision coming soon

Saints GM Mickey Loomis said Monday that the team will make a decision on Kamara's (knee) future with the team in "the next week or two," Mike Triplett of NewOrleans.Football reports.
Analysis: Loomis was mum on the subject, saying the Saints are "just trying to see how he's going to fit in on our roster," while adding that Kamara has not been offered a revamped contract. Kamara will turn 31 years old this summer and has spent his entire nine-year career with New Orleans, but the Saints signed Travis Etienne to a four-year, $48 million deal over the offseason. Both Kamara ($12.25 million per year) and Etienne ($12 million) are two of the 10 highest-paid running backs in the league, making it hard to envision the Saints paying both of them big money in 2026. Kamara has previously hinted that he'd only play for the Saints or retire. He averaged a career-worst 3.6 yards per carry on 131 attempts last season, rushing for just one touchdown. A once-prolific pass catcher out of the backfield, Kamara also averaged a career-low 5.6 yards per reception in 2025. |

Saints GM Mickey Loomis said Monday that talks with Olave (illness) regarding a contact extension have been positive, Katherine Terrell of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: "Obviously we'd love to have something done sooner than later, and I'm sure Chris would, as well, but we're not there yet," Loomis said. Olave is headed into the final year of his rookie deal and is set to play on the fifth-year team option for $15.493 million in 2026 if the sides are unable to come to an agreement. After appearing in just eight games in 2024 due to concussion issues, Olave played in 16 regular-season contests last season before missing the Week 18 finale with a blood clot in his lung. Olave ended up having a career year, posting 100 catches for 1,163 yards and nine touchdowns on 156 targets, all career highs for the 25-year-old. Olave is likely to command north of $33 million per year on a new contract. |

New Orleans placed Saldiveri (knee) on its Reserve/Physically Unable to Perform list Tuesday.
Analysis: Saldiveri is apparently still working his way back onto the field from the knee injury he suffered back in December of 2024. As it stands, he'll now have to miss at least the first four weeks of the 2026 campaign. |

The Saints signed Rechsteiner as an undrafted free agent Tuesday.
Analysis: Rechsteiner earned a spot on the roster after seemingly impressing during his tryout at New Orleans' rookie minicamp. He spent his collegiate career at Jacksonville State, catching 53 passes for 629 yards and seven touchdowns across three seasons with the team. |

Tyson participated in Friday's session, and there's no indication that it will impact his ability to participate in future offseason programs. The Arizona State product was the eighth overall pick of the 2026 NFL Draft, and his addition gives the Saints a lethal one-two punch at wide receiver with Tyson working alongside Chris Olave. |

Alvin Kamara Alvin Kamara Open to working with Etienne

Kamara (knee) indicated Monday that he's excited to team up with free agent addition Travis Etienne, Matthew Paras of The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.
Analysis: Since the Saints inked Etienne to a four-year, $52 million contract in March, there's been speculation about Kamara's future with the team that drafted him back in 2017. For his part, the veteran running back -- who is bouncing back from a knee injury that cost him the last six games of the 2025 regular season -- is amenable to pairing with Etienne in New Orleans' backfield in 2026. "I watched (Etienne) in Jacksonville the last couple years and (he's) explosive," Kamara notes. "He hit home runs. He did it in college. Strong dude, seems smart...I'm excited to see what we can do together." For now, Kamara, who is under contract with the Saints for the coming campaign, remains in the mix to work with Etienne, but it's still possible the team could elect to move on from the 30-year-old at some point in the coming weeks/months. Also in the RB mix behind the current top duo are Kendre Miller, Devin Neal, Ty Chandler and Audric Estime. |

The Saints signed Emerson on Tuesday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Analysis: Emerson worked out with the team earlier in the day and seemingly impressed enough to earn a contract. The 25-year-old has spent the entirety of his three-year career with Cleveland, totaling 202 tackles (158 solo), including 1.0 sacks, and four interceptions across 50 games. With the Saints lacking proven talent at cornerback, Emerson could have a chance to start alongside Kool-Aid McKinstry during the 2026 campaign. |

The Saints declined Wilson's fifth-year option Monday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Analysis: As the seventh overall pick in 2023 Draft and a defensive end, Wilson's fifth-year option would have come in at $14.475 million. The pass rusher's career has been disappointing thus far in relation to the draft capital invested in him, so it makes sense that the Saints' trade acquisition is more of a one-year flyer on a once-promising and athletic player and not a commitment to pursue his future. If Wilson can revive his career in 2026 with a better season, the team may look to keep his services in New Orleans long term. |

Vele (shoulder) faces increased competition for playing time and targets after the Saints used three picks on wide receivers in the 2026 NFL Draft, Katherine Terrell of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: New Orleans used the No. 8 overall pick on Jordyn Tyson, who figures to start alongside Chris Olave from Day 1, and later on the Saints took Bryce Lance in the fourth round and Barion Brown in the sixth. Acquired from the Broncos during the preseason last summer, Vele appeared in 13 regular-season games for the Saints, making seven starts, and produced a 25-293-2 line on 39 targets. Following the trade of Rashid Shaheed to Seattle, Vele became a starter but was injured in Week 15 and missed the final three contests. Capable of playing the slot or outside and on special teams, Vele should have a role in 2026, but the target competition is much stiffer. |

Analysis: Hardy played in 44 games over his college career, spending three years at Elon before transferring to North Carolina State as a senior. The tight end produced just six receptions for 83 yards and 2 touchdowns in his final season, but his main value came as a run blocker. The 6-foot-5, 271-pound rookie will have to show significant special teams upside for a shot to remain on the Saints' depth chart come September. |

Analysis: Donaldson played in 13 games for Ohio State in 2025, logging 96 carries for 361 rush yards and 10 rush touchdowns over his senior season. The 21-year-old spent the first three years of his collegiate career at West Virginia, logging 171 and 163 carries in his sophomore and junior seasons, respectively. As a well-built downhill back, his upside for the Saints comes as a depth option for short-yardage situations. |

Analysis: Like seemingly all Hawkeyes cornerbacks, Hall (6-foot-1, 189 pounds) is a rugged player who is well-versed on the fundamentals. The unfortunate contrast to recent Iowa standouts Cooper DeJean and Riley Moss is that Hall is a below-average athlete by cornerback standards, logging just a 4.59-second 40-yard dash with short arms (30 inches) ill suited to press coverage. If Hall's lack of athletic traits don't hold him back, there's reason to think he has the skill set necessary to at least provide quality cornerback depth at the NFL level. |

The Saints selected Brown in the sixth round of the 2026 NFL Draft, 190th overall.
Analysis: Brown is a speedster who can take the top off the defense, compiling 53 catches for 532 yards and one touchdown in his senior season at LSU. He's very thin at 5-foot-11, 177 pounds, and he profiles as more of a sprinter than a polished route runner. Brown will likely be asked to add weight and muscle mass to his frame at the next level, and he'll need to clean up drops -- he totaled 21 drops over four seasons in college. One thing working in Brown's favor is his aptitude as a returner, which could help his case for a 53-man roster spot with the Saints. At receiver, Chris Olave and first-round pick Jordyn Tyson top the team's depth chart, and Devaughn Vele has shown pretty well in his first couple of NFL campaigns, but there is room for Brown to find a home and move up the depth chart if he performs well in camp. |

Analysis: Styles didn't see much playing time over the first four years of his college career but emerged as a starter in Ohio State's secondary in 2025, when he posted 30 total tackles and three pass defenses across 12 games. He caught the attention of scouts at the 2026 NFL Combine, when he posted an impressive 4.27-second 40-yard dash time, the fastest among defensive backs. Styles struggled at times with his processing time in the secondary, but he does bring experience on special teams both in coverage and as a returner, which should help him see the field in his rookie season. On defense, his main competition for snaps will come from the likes of Jordan Howard and Jonas Sanker. |

Analysis: Lance (6-foot-3, 204 pounds) boasts adequate size to complement his explosive athletic trades (4.34 40-yard dash), and he surpassed 1,000 receiving yards in each of his two seasons as a starter at North Dakota State (five years total). He showed especially well on deep routes in 2025, when he logged a career-best 21.5 yards per catch across 13 games as a fifth-year senior. To compete for more than a rotational role at the NFL level, Lance will need to significantly expand his route tree, but in New Orleans' crowded wide receiver room there may not be much pressure to develop into more than a situational playmaker. All of Devaughn Vele (shoulder), Mason Tipton (groin), Bub Means (lower leg), Kevin Austin, Trey Palmer (ankle), Ja'Lynn Polk (shoulder), Ronnie Bell and Samori Toure represent competition for Lance to earn wide receiver reps behind Chris Olave (illness) and No. 8 overall pick Jordyn Tyson. |

Analysis: Delp (6-foot-5, 245 pounds) sat out drills at the 2026 Combine while recovering from a hairline fracture in his left foot, but he took part in Georgia's Pro Day and logged an impressive 4.49-second 40-yard dash. Despite having started the last three of his four seasons with Georgia, Delp never tallied 25 catches or 300 receiving yards in a single year. Playing alongside Brock Bowers limited Delp's production early in his career, but expectations that he would develop into a featured pass catcher for the Bulldogs in his junior or senior seasons never truly materialized. As a rookie in New Orleans, Delp may have a difficult task competing for reps as the No. 3 tight end behind Juwan Johnson and Noah Fant. |
