RJ Harvey
RJ Harvey Bouncing back from shoulder issue
Mon, Jun 15, 2026, 4:27 PM
Harvey reportedly underwent an offseason procedure to repair a torn labrum in his shoulder that he sustained during Denver's season-ending AFC Championship Game loss to New England, according to Luca Evans of The Denver Post.
Analysis: Evans also notes that while Harvey was practicing during the Broncos' OTAs, he didn't do much in the process. With that in mind, the running back's participation level in the team's upcoming mandatory minicamp, and then also in training camp, will be worth monitoring, but at this stage there's nothing to suggest his regular-season status will be impacted. Looking ahead to the coming campaign, Harvey is slated to maintain a key role in a Denver backfield committee that also is set to include J.K. Dobbins and rookie fourth-rounder Jonah Coleman.
Hakeem Butler
Hakeem Butler Joining Broncos after UFL run
Mon, Jun 15, 2026, 7:55 AM
Butler agreed to a contract with the Broncos on Monday, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.
Analysis: Denver will bring the 30-year-old pass catcher aboard after he recently concluded a stellar run with the UFL's St. Louis Battlehawks. Butler took home UFL Offensive Player of the Year honors for the second time in three seasons after compiling a league-high 641 receiving yards and three touchdowns on 29 receptions over nine games in 2026. Listed at 6-foot-5 and 242 pounds, Butler represents a big red-zone target who could serve in a hybrid role at receiver and tight end if he's able to secure a spot on Denver's 53-man roster coming out of the preseason. Since entering the professional ranks as a 2019 fourth-round pick of the Cardinals, Butler has appeared in just two NFL games, both of which came with the Eagles in 2020.
Facing additional serious charges
Thu, Jun 11, 2026, 11:15 PM
Cooper has had additional charges of felony second-degree assault by strangulation and misdemeanor third-degree assault added to his previous charge of criminal mischief with a domestic violence enhancer, Luca Evans of The Denver Post reports.
Analysis: Cooper was arrested during the evening of June 4 and made a court appearance Monday, during which he pleaded not guilty to the original charge. A trial has been scheduled for late July. Cooper has been with the Broncos during OTAs since Monday, and head coach Sean Payton said team leadership had a "long visit" with the outside linebacker in regard to the incident that spurred the legal charges. Payton added, "We'll follow the league's guidelines, and I'm sure a lot of that will be led by the local authorities' guidelines. We'll pay attention to all of it."
Bo Nix
Bo Nix In line to practice next week
Thu, Jun 11, 2026, 1:37 PM
Coach Sean Payton said Thursday that Nix (ankle) is expected to practice at mandatory minicamp next week, Zac Stevens of TheDNVR.com reports.
Analysis: Nix suffered a fracture in his right ankle near the ned of the Broncos' divisional-round win against the Bills and missed the AFC Championship Game loss to the Patriots. After undergoing surgery in late January, he was facing a 12-week recovery, but his on-field work during the offseason program was delayed due to a clean-up procedure that he had in late April. Payton noted Thursday that Nix participated in the walkthrough prior to Thursday's OTA, while adding that he believes Nix will be "completely clean, mobility-wise," once he's back to full health, according to Stevens. The dual threat has combined for 7,706 passing yards and 786 rushing yards in 34 regular-season games since he was selected 12th overall in the 2024 NFL Draft.
Caleb Lohner
Caleb Lohner Undergoes minor procedure
Sun, Jun 7, 2026, 1:57 PM
Lohner is expected to miss two weeks after undergoing a lower-body procedure, Mike Klis of 9News Denver reports.
Analysis: Klis adds that Lohner's procedure was a routine cleanup and that he'll be fully ready for training camp. The second-year tight end spent his rookie season on the Broncos' practice squad and signed a reserve/future contract with the team in January. Lohner was lauded by Denver coach Sean Payton as a standout performer while participating in rookie minicamp this May, and he'll look to impress again when he's healthy this offseason.
Arrested in Colorado
Fri, Jun 5, 2026, 11:53 AM
Cooper was arrested Thursday night and and booked into Douglas County Jail on a criminal mischief charge and a domestic violence enhancer, Parker Gabriel of The Denver Post reports.
Analysis: Cooper has a court hearing scheduled for Monday morning. Per Chris Tomasson of The Denver Gazette, the Broncos issued the following statement: "We are aware of the matter and gathering more information." Cooper signed a four-year extension with the team in November 2024 and has two seasons remaining on his contract.
Bo Nix
Bo Nix Nearing practice return?
Thu, Jun 4, 2026, 3:13 PM
Broncos coach Sean Payton said Thursday that Nix (ankle) has been throwing at OTAs and will resume practicing with teammates at June minicamp, Luca Evans of The Denver Post reports.
Analysis: Coming back from a broken ankle suffered during the playoffs, Nix had a minor clean-up procedure in mid-to-late April but still seems to be on track in his recovery. Payton previously mentioned June minicamp as a target date to increase Nix's participation, with the Broncos hoping their starting QB will then be a full participant at the start of training camp in late July. For now, Jarrett Stidham and Sam Ehlinger are handling Denver's QB reps while battling for the No. 2 job behind Nix.
Negotiates contract adjustment
Tue, Jun 2, 2026, 7:34 PM
Denver agreed Tuesday to give Surtain a $5 million raise with an additional $5 million incentive for a Pro Bowl or All-Pro selection, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Analysis: Surtain is now officially in the first year of the four-year, $96 million contract extension he signed with the Broncos back in September of 2024, so the pay bump is not a huge change. If Denver is able to again field one of football's top defenses in 2026, Surtain, who is coming off his fourth straight Pro Bowl season, will probably again be one of the biggest reasons why.
Michael Woods II
Michael Woods Headed to Denver
Tue, May 12, 2026, 8:45 PM
The Broncos signed Woods on Monday, Parker Gabriel of The Denver Post reports.
Analysis: Woods spent time on Green Bay's practice squad last season but was never elevated to the active roster. The 26-year-old last appeared in a regular-season game during the 2024 campaign with the Browns and will look to earn a spot on Denver's final roster.
Bo Nix
Bo Nix On track for minicamp
Sat, May 9, 2026, 2:50 PM
Head coach Sean Payton told reporters Saturday that Nix (ankle) will throw during mid-June minicamp and should be at full speed at training camp in July, Parker Gabriel of The Denver Post reports.
Analysis: Nix continues to progress in his recovery from surgery to repair a broken brone in his right ankle that he underwent in late January. The initial recovery timeline was 12 weeks, but the Broncos won't push the third-year quarterback too much during June's minicamp, with Jarrett Stidham expected to take the majority of snaps at that time, though Nix should be a full go for training camp.
Agrees to deal with Broncos
Fri, May 8, 2026, 8:05 PM
Ross signed with the Broncos as an undrafted free agent Friday.
Analysis: Ross led UConn with 60 receptions for 723 yards as a true freshman, but that was way back in 2019. COVID wiped out his 2020 season, and injuries held him back in 2021 and 2022. Ross subsequently made a stop at James Madison before landing with Virginia in 2025 for his final college season. He finished with 53 receptions for 543 yards (third on the team) and two touchdowns. Ross also returned 22 punts for 171 yards (7.8 YPR) and eight kicks for 266 yards (33.3 YPR) and a touchdown. It's a crowded receiver room, so Ross will need to make a name for himself as a returner.
Joseph Manjack
Joseph Manjack Pens UDFA deal
Fri, May 8, 2026, 8:00 PM
Manjack signed with the Broncos as an undrafted free agent Friday.
Analysis: Manjack finished third on TCU in receptions (44), yards (579) and touchdowns (three) through 13 games in his fifth collegiate season. He'll join fellow undrafted rookie wide receivers Dane Key, Kolbe Katsis and Cameron Ross. Five receivers have likely already locked up spots on team, meaning Manjack is likely heading for the practice squad.
Lands in Mile High City
Fri, May 8, 2026, 7:56 PM
Katsis signed with the Broncos as an undrafted free agent Friday.
Analysis: Katsis was dominant for Northern Arizona of the FCS last season, recording 95 receptions for 1,566 yards and 12 touchdowns over two seasons. He earned All-Big Sky First Team honors as a wide receiver and as a kick returner, as he averaged 30.6 yards per kick return while scoring once. The Broncos have a deep receiver corps, so Katsis likely will need to produce immediately as a returner to earn a 53-man roster spot.
Dane Key
Dane Key Links up with Broncos
Fri, May 8, 2026, 7:50 PM
Key signed with the Broncos as an undrafted free agent Friday.
Analysis: Key was immediately productive at Kentucky as a freshman, producing a 37-519-6 line. He never meaningfully improved from there, however, as he topped out with a 47-715-2 line in his junior year before regressing to a 39-452-5 mark in his senior year at Nebraska. The 22-year-old has intriguing size (6-foot-3, 210 pounds), but his 4.60 40-yard dash at his pro day was a bit disappointing. The Broncos' top-five wideout roles look locked up, meaning Key will need to flash in the offseason program and training camp to secure a roster spot.
Pat Bryant
Pat Bryant Spent offseason with training staff
Fri, May 8, 2026, 2:41 PM
Bryant said Friday that he spent almost the entire offseason in Denver rehabbing his hamstring injury and working with the training staff, Parker Gabriel of the Denver Post reports.
Analysis: Bryant was injured in Denver's season-ending loss to the Patriots in the AFC Championship Game. The 2025 third-round pick had 31 catches for 378 yards and one TD on 49 targets in 15 games during his rookie regular season. Bryant has regained health but will need to impress the coaching staff throughout training camp and the preseason to earn a prominent role in a deep wide receiver room that Denver bolstered by trading for Jaylen Waddle in the offseason while retaining Courtland Sutton, Troy Franklin (hamstring), Marvin Mims and Bryant.
Signs with Denver
Thu, Apr 30, 2026, 6:31 PM
Key signed his exclusive-rights free-agent tender with the Broncos on Thursday, Chris Tomasson of The Denver Gazette reports.
Analysis: Once Denver made the tender offer, the safety had no choice but to remain with the team, or sit out the season. Key also was tendered by the Broncos for the 2025 campaign. He has appeared on more than 200 special-teams snaps in each of the last two regular seasons.
Bo Nix
Bo Nix Has clean-up procedure on ankle
Tue, Apr 28, 2026, 8:37 PM
During his scheduled re-check last week, Nix underwent what Ian Rapoport of NFL Network describes as a successful and anticipated follow-up clean-up procedure on his ankle.
Analysis: While Rapoport suggests that the Broncos figure to proceed deliberately with Nix this spring in the wake of the QB's recent procedure, Zac Stevens of TheDNVR.com notes that Nix is expected to be ready for training camp. Once he's ready to practice fully, Nix will be working with a Denver pass-catching corps that was bolstered by the offseason addition of WR Jaylen Waddle, who arrived via a trade with the Dolphins last month.
Picked last by Broncos
Sat, Apr 25, 2026, 6:23 PM
The Broncos selected Murdock in the seventh round of the 2026 NFL Draft, 257th overall.
Analysis: Murdock (6-foot-2, 232 pounds) is an example of a player with a poor athleticism grade but heaps of football ability otherwise. His skill level as a linebacker is uncommon, because in his last two years at Buffalo he accumulated 298 tackles, including 30 for a loss and 7.0 sacks. Murdock also somehow punched out 17 fumbles in his last three seasons. Very few collegiate linebackers live in the backfield as often as Murdock did. The limitation with Murdock is his athleticism, which grades below average thanks to a 4.79-second pro day 40 and poor jumps (31.5-inch vertical, 114-inch broad jump). Murdock already proved he can play if his athleticism can hold up at a given level of competition, so if he turns out a steal for the Broncos it wouldn't be fair to call it a complete surprise.
Picked up by Broncos
Sat, Apr 25, 2026, 6:16 PM
The Broncos selected Bentley in the seventh round of the 2026 NFL Draft, 256th overall.
Analysis: Bentley's big numbers from the 2025 season were undermined by the fact that he did next to nothing in any of the prior seasons, and by the time Bentley started producing for Utah he already had a big age advantage over most of the competition, cheapening the value of that otherwise noteworthy receiving production (48 catches for 620 yards and eight touchdowns on 80 targets). Even with quality workout metrics at 6-foot-4, 252 pounds, Bentley will likely begin his NFL career as a practice squad type yet will turn 26 this winter, so he doesn't have much development time on his side.
Lands with Broncos
Sat, Apr 25, 2026, 5:42 PM
The Broncos selected Scott in the seventh round of the 2026 NFL Draft, 246th overall.
Analysis: Scott (6-foot, 203 pounds) will have his work cut out for him to compete for a depth role in Denver's secondary, but he boasts the size, ball skills (as a former wide receiver) and experience to find a role if he can make the most of his developmental opportunities. The 24-year-old started the final three seasons of his five-year career at Illinois. Expect Scott to kick off his rookie year competing with JL Skinner (shoulder), Devon Key and Tycen Anderson for depth reps at safety.
