Jonathan Isaac
Report: Jonathan Isaac signs back with Magic
Wed, Jul 1, 2026, 7:27 AM
Jason Beede
Jonathan Isaac agreed to a one-year contract with the Magic, reports Jason Beede of the Orlando Sentinel.
Analysis: Isaac was waived by the Magic just days ago, but finds himself back where he started. The former No. 6 overall pick from the 2017 NBA Draft, Isaac's career has been a story of him mostly battling knee injuries. It's unclear what his market was around the league, but Isaac decided his best path forward was to return to the Magic.
Jevon Carter
Shams: Magic re-sign Jevon Carter for one year
Wed, Jul 1, 2026, 5:17 AM
Shams Charania
Jevon Carter has agreed to a one-year, $3.5 million contract with the Magic, reports ESPN's Shams Charania.
Analysis: An eight-year NBA veteran, Carter joined the Magic after he was waived by the Bulls in February. He averaged 7.2 points and 2.3 assists in 20.7 minutes per game with Orlando. Carter figures to reprise his role as bench depth at point guard behind Jalen Suggs and Anthony Black.
Nikola Vucevic
Shams: Nikola Vu?evi? to Magic on one-year deal
Wed, Jul 1, 2026, 4:45 AM
Shams Charania
Nikola Vu?evi? has agreed on a one-year, $3.9 million contract with the Magic, according to ESPN's Shams Charania.
Analysis: Vu?evi? previously spent nine seasons with the Magic earlier in his career. More recently, the 35-year-old center saw his production fall off drastically after a midseason trade to the Celtics last season. Vu?evi?'s playoff production was limited to the point where the Celtics benched him for Game 7 as they lost a series against the 76ers. Vooch was a top-50 player and a bonafide starter as recently as two years ago with the Bulls. With the Magic only paying him $3.9 million at this stage of his career, he could be ticketed for a lesser role in Orlando.
Xavier Cooks
WAS selects Izaiyah Nelson at No. 51, sends to ORL
Wed, Jun 24, 2026, 3:51 PM
Wizards selected Izaiyah Nelson with the No. 51 pick in the NBA Draft and traded his rights to the Magic.
Analysis: After spending his first three seasons at Arkansas State, Nelson had his most productive campaign at South Florida as a senior. In 34 games, the 6-foot-8 forward/center racked up the individual awards, earning American Conference Player of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year and Newcomer of the Year honors. While Nelson is undersized for a post player, he makes up for it with an elite motor and willingness to compete as a rebounder and defender. Nelson gives the Magic another option to call upon in the frontcourt, which could prove valuable if free agent Moritz Wagner does not return.
Anthony Black
Anthony Black logs five steals Sunday vs. Detroit
Sun, May 3, 2026, 12:47 PM
Anthony Black finished Sunday's loss to the Pistons with 11 points (4-of-12 FGs, 3-of-4 FTs), five rebounds, one assist and five steals.
Analysis: Like many of his teammates on Sunday, Black struggled to efficiently put the ball in the basket ??" his 0-of-4 shooting from beyond the arc being a major reason. Yet, the third-year guard had several positive moments on the defensive end, as reflected in the five steals he collected. He never consistently put together strong performances in the opening-round loss. However, Black took notable steps forward from a production standpoint during the regular season. He'll have fantasy value next season.
Desmond Bane
Desmond Bance scores 16 points in Game 7 loss
Sun, May 3, 2026, 12:40 PM
Desmond Bane logged 16 points (5-of-10 FGs, 3-of-5 FTs), three rebounds, three assists, two steals, one block and three three-pointers in Sunday's loss to the Pistons.
Analysis: Bane was one of the better Magic performers on Sunday, despite his counting stats not jumping off the page. On efficient shooting and solid production from the three-point line, he finished as Orlando's second leading scorer and was one of only four players to reach double figures. Bane finished the series averaging fewer points per game and a much lower field goal percentage than he did during the regular season. His fantasy production dipped a bit during the 2025-26 campaign, but he should still be a reliable contributor next season.
Paolo Banchero
Paolo Banchero scores 38 as Magic get eliminated
Sun, May 3, 2026, 12:34 PM
Paolo Banchero tallied 38 points (14-of-25 FGs, 6-of-8 FTs), nine rebounds, six assists, one block and four three-pointers in the loss to the Pistons on Sunday.
Analysis: Banchero recovered from a rough Game 6 to nearly total 40 points on Sunday. He shot well from beyond the arc and was efficient inside the three-point line, while functioning as Orlando's best rebounder and playmaker. Yet, the outstanding individual performance was not enough to extend the Magic's season. As Banchero's fourth NBA season ends, fantasy managers will hope that the former first-overall pick can put forth a more productive and consistent fifth season to bounce back from an unspectacular 2025-26.
Jonathan Isaac
Jonathan Isaac (knee) downgraded to out for Game 7
Sun, May 3, 2026, 7:51 AM
NBA Injury Report
Jonathan Isaac (knee) is out for Sunday's Game 7 against the Pistons.
Analysis: Sidelined since March 12, Isaac will miss Sunday's series decider due to a sprained left knee. His continued absence does not affect the Magic rotation.
Jonathan Isaac
Jonathan Isaac (knee) doubtful for Game 7 Sunday
Sat, May 2, 2026, 9:09 AM
Jonathan Isaac (knee) is doubtful for Sunday's Game 7 against the Pistons.
Analysis: Isaac hasn't played in over a month and that's unlikely to change in Sunday's Game 7 against the Pistons. His continued absence won't significantly impact the Magic's rotation.
Franz Wagner
Franz Wagner (calf) out for Game 7 Sunday
Sat, May 2, 2026, 9:02 AM
Franz Wagner (calf) is out for Game 7 against the Pistons on Sunday.
Analysis: Wagner left Game 4 after playing 24 minutes with a calf injury and hasn't played since. He's now set to miss Game 7. The tides turned without him in the series as the Magic are in the process of blowing a 3-1 lead to the Pistons. Jamal Cain started Game 6 in Wagner's place, but had just three points in 20 minutes while Anthony Black had eight points in 34 minutes off the bench.
Jalen Suggs
Jalen Suggs shoots 1-of-10 in Game 6 defeat
Fri, May 1, 2026, 3:49 PM
Jalen Suggs recorded seven points (1-of-10 FGs, 4-of-4 FTs), seven rebounds, seven assists, one steal and one three-pointer in Friday's Game 6 loss to the Pistons.
Analysis: Suggs wasn't the only Magic player to struggle in Game 6, especially after halftime, but the point guard had a rough Friday night. Not only did he shoot 1-of-6 from beyond the arc, but Suggs racked up five turnovers. To top things off, he was seen grabbing his left hamstring late in the fourth quarter, so there may be another concern for the Magic heading into Sunday's Game 7.
Desmond Bane
Desmond Bane scores 17 points in Game 6 defeat
Fri, May 1, 2026, 3:49 PM
Desmond Bane finished Friday's Game 6 loss to the Pistons with 17 points (7-of-18 FGs), three rebounds, one assist, two steals and three three-pointers.
Analysis: One of the stars in Orlando's home wins in Games 3 and 4, Bane has shot a combined 13-of-33 from the field over the last two games. While that isn't necessarily a terrible percentage, Orlando's margin for error is slim with Franz Wagner (calf) unavailable. And with the Magic scoring a total of 19 points in the second half of Game 6, they head back to Detroit to play Game 7 in a series that they once led by a 3-1 margin. Bane will have to be at his best on Sunday if Orlando is to avoid elimination.
Paolo Banchero
Paolo Banchero has brutal night in Game 6 defeat
Fri, May 1, 2026, 3:48 PM
Paolo Banchero amassed 17 points (4-of-20 FGs, 9-of-12 FTs), 10 rebounds, six assists and two steals in Friday's Game 6 loss to the Pistons.
Analysis: After going off for 45 points in Game 5, Banchero had a miserable Game 6 as the Magic missed out on their second opportunity to close out the series. Missing all nine of his three-point attempts, the 6-foot-10 forward shot 4-of-20 from the field overall. A 9-of-12 night at the foul line resulted in Banchero producing a respectable point total, but there's no denying that this was a bad effort from him. He and the Magic will look to redeem themselves in Game 7 on Sunday.
Jonathan Isaac
Jonathan Isaac (knee) downgraded to out for Game 6
Fri, May 1, 2026, 10:54 AM
NBA Injury Report
Jonathan Isaac (knee) is out for Friday's Game 6 against the Pistons.
Analysis: Isaac has been out for over a month, giving the Magic more than enough time to adjust to his absence. Goga Bitadze will continue to serve as the backup center, and this may be a better matchup for him than Isaac because of the Pistons' physicality.
Jonathan Isaac
Jonathan Isaac (knee) doubtful for Game 6 Friday
Thu, Apr 30, 2026, 11:04 AM
NBA Injury Report
Jonathan Isaac (knee) is doubtful for Friday's Game 6 against the Pistons.
Analysis: Isaac has yet to appear in a game this postseason, and it's unlikely that will change in Game 6. His continued absence would not significantly affect the Magic rotation, as Isaac last appeared in a game on March 12.
Anthony Black
Anthony Black posts 19/5/3/3 stat line in Game 5
Wed, Apr 29, 2026, 3:52 PM
Anthony Black finished Wednesday's Game 5 loss to the Pistons with 19 points (7-of-12 FGs, 1-of-2 FTs), five rebounds, three assists, three steals and four three-pointers.
Analysis: During the regular season, Black was usually the replacement in the Magic starting lineup when the team was down a perimeter starter. However, that was not the case for Game 5, as Franz Wagner was out with a strained calf. Jamal Cain (five points, four rebounds and one assist), who had some good moments in Games 3 and 4 defending Cade Cunningham, received the nod but offered limited value in 45 minutes. Black, who totaled 22 points in the first four games of the series, played 39 minutes and had a good night at the office. We'll see if Magic head coach Jamahl Mosley decides to start Black if Wagner remains out for Game 6 on Friday.
Desmond Bane
Desmond Bane hits four triples, scores 18 points
Wed, Apr 29, 2026, 3:51 PM
Desmond Bane accounted for 18 points (6-of-15 FGs, 2-of-2 FTs), five rebounds, one assist, three blocks and four three-pointers in Wednesday's Game 5 loss to the Pistons.
Analysis: After totaling 47 points and 12 three-pointers in Orlando's home victories in Games 3 and 4, Bane was kept in check on Wednesday. The Magic wing, who made 12 of 19 three-point attempts in those wins, shot 4-of-10 from beyond the arc as Orlando failed to end the series. Bane and his teammates will look to end things on Friday night, with a loss sending the series back to Detroit for a decisive Game 7 on Sunday.
Paolo Banchero
Paolo Banchero scores 45 points in Game 5 defeat
Wed, Apr 29, 2026, 3:51 PM
Paolo Banchero recorded 45 points (17-of-31 FGs, 5-of-12 FTs), nine rebounds, seven assists, two steals and six three-pointers in Wednesday's Game 5 loss to the Pistons.
Analysis: While Banchero's 45 points equaled those of Detroit's Cade Cunningham, the Magic forward will likely head back to Orlando with some regrets. Banchero shot 5-of-12 from the foul line, and Orlando made 16 of its 30 attempts as a team. There's no guarantee that the Magic would have clinched their spot in the second round with a better effort at the charity stripe, but it wouldn't have hurt their cause. Banchero's 45 points were one shy of the Magic franchise record for a postseason game, which Dwight Howard and Tracy McGrady share. Orlando will look to end the series at home on Friday.
Jamal Cain
ORL starts Suggs, Bane, Cain, Banchero, Carter
Wed, Apr 29, 2026, 12:51 PM
NBA Lineups
Jalen Suggs, Desmond Bane, Jamal Cain, Paolo Banchero and Wendell Carter Jr. will start Wednesday's Game 5 against the Pistons.
Analysis: The Magic won't have Franz Wagner (calf) for Game 5, and he could miss multiple games. While Anthony Black and Tristan da Silva have been the replacements in the starting lineup in the past, they'll come off the bench for Wednesday's game. Cain has received the nod, and he played quality minutes in Orlando's Game 4 victory.
Jonathan Isaac
Jonathan Isaac (knee) downgraded to out for Game 5
Wed, Apr 29, 2026, 11:53 AM
NBA Injury Report
Jonathan Isaac (knee) is out for Wednesday's Game 5 against the Pistons.
Analysis: Isaac has yet to appear in these playoffs, and that won't change on Wednesday. Even with Franz Wagner (calf) also out, Isaac's continued absence will not significantly affect the Magic frontcourt rotation.
