Javonte Green
Javonte Green returns to Detroit on one-year deal
Fri, Jul 3, 2026, 3:37 AM
Shams Charania
Pistons signed Javonte Green to a one-year, $3.95 million contract.
Analysis: Green was a solid role player for Detroit last season, averaging 6.9 points, 2.8 rebounds and 1.2 stelas in 17.6 minutes per game while appearing in all 82 games, which included six starts. He'll remain in a depth role once again next season.
John Collins
Shams: Pistons ink John Collins to three-year deal
Wed, Jul 1, 2026, 2:35 AM
Shams Charania
John Collins agreed to a three-year, $51 million contract with the Pistons, reports ESPN's Shams Charania.
Analysis: After missing out on some of the big names to begin the offseason, the Pistons have finally made a significant move. Collins is set to turn 29 in September. He's a nine-year NBA veteran and was a first-round pick by the Hawks in the 2017 NBA Draft. Collins has averaged 15.7 points and 7.7 rebounds in his career. Two years ago with the Jazz, he averaged 19.0 points and 8.2 assists. Collins figures to be the Pistons' new starting power forward with Tobias Harris not expected to return and should benefit as a lob threat playing alongside Cade Cunningham.
Jalen Duren
Spears: DET not interested in moving Jalen Duren
Tue, Jun 30, 2026, 11:59 AM
Marc Spears
The Pistons aren't interested in any sign and trade deals and will match any potential offer sheets for Jalen Duren, according to ESPN's Marc Spears.
Analysis: Duren is set to meet with the Kings and Lakers as free agency opens Tuesday evening, but it takes two teams to complete a sign and trade and the Pistons are saying they're anything but a willing participant. Detroit has said Duren is part of the team's core and isn't interested in trading the 22-year-old center. The Pistons are even prepared to match any potential offer sheets Duren might sign with another team as a restricted free agent. Duren staying with the Pistons has been the most likely outcome heading into the offseason and that remains the case.
Jalen Duren
Report: Jalen Duren to meet with Lakers Tuesday
Mon, Jun 29, 2026, 1:42 PM
Sam Amick
Sam Amick of The Athletic reports that Jalen Duren will meet with the Lakers via telephone on Tuesday as free agency begins.
Analysis: Not long after it was reported that Duren would meet with the Kings, who hope to arrange a sign-and-trade with the Pistons, he will also meet with another Pacific Division team. The Lakers are seeking a starting center, as they look to upgrade the position after receiving underwhelming production from Deandre Ayton last season. Given their current salary cap situation, the Lakers would likely be in a position where re-signing LeBron James would be unrealistic if they signed Duren.
Jalen Duren
Report: Jalen Duren to meet with Sacramento
Mon, Jun 29, 2026, 12:48 PM
Chris Haynes
NBA insider Chris Haynes reports that Jalen Duren will meet with the Kings at the start of free agency with the intention of working out a sign-and-trade to leave Detroit.
Analysis: For quite some time now, it has been believed that Duren and the Pistons were far apart in their negotiations on a new deal. While the 2026 All-Star struggled during the postseason, Monday's report is shocking. Not only will Duren meet with the Kings at the beginning of free agency, but he'll do so to work out a sign-and-trade with the Pistons. According to Sam Amick of The Athletic, the Kings plan to offer Domantas Sabonis to the Pistons to get a deal done. Of course, Detroit can always refuse to do so, especially if they decide to simply match whatever offer sheet Duren signs. If Duren were to move on, that would put the Pistons in the market for a new starting center, which could affect the market for a player like New York's Mitchell Robinson.
Kevin Huerter
Report: Pistons, Kevin Huerter agree to contract
Mon, Jun 29, 2026, 12:12 PM
Shams Charania
ESPN's Shams Charania reports that the Pistons and Kevin Huerter have agreed to a three-year, $27 million contract.
Analysis: Acquired from the Bulls at the February trade deadline, Huerter missed nine of the Pistons' final 10 games of the postseason with a strained adductor. When he was available, he averaged 8.6 points, 2.8 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 1.1 steals and 1.2 three-pointers in 20.3 minutes per game with the Pistons. Huerter's production wasn't great, but the Pistons are likely betting that a return to full strength and a better understanding of the team's system will pay dividends next season.
Isaiah Joe
Shams: Isaiah Joe traded to Pistons
Fri, Jun 26, 2026, 5:33 AM
Shams Charania
ESPN's Shams Charania reports that Isaiah Joe has been traded to the Pistons for two future second-round picks.
Analysis: Oklahoma City recently dealt Aaron Wiggins to the Hawks for picks, and Joe is the latest in a series of moves to clear cap space. Lu Dort is another name to keep an eye on as the Thunder look to shed salary. In the meantime, the absences of Wiggins and Joe should mean more run for Ajay Mitchell and Jared McCain, two players who had strong postseason performances. Joe's fantasy stock is on the rise in Detroit, as he could be a starter or Sixth Man thanks to his elite floor-spacing abilities.
Xavier Cooks
HOU selects Ugonna Onyenso at No. 53, sent to DET
Wed, Jun 24, 2026, 4:00 PM
Michael Scotto
Rockets selected Ugonna Onyenso with the No. 53 pick in the NBA Draft and traded the pick to the Knicks, who then sent it to the Pistons.
Analysis: Onyenso, a 6-foot-11 center who spent two seasons at Kentucky and one at Kansas State before joining the Virginia program, is arguably the best rim protector in this draft class. Last season, he averaged an ACC-best 2.9 blocks in just 18.6 minutes per game. While the offensive repertoire is very limited, Onyenso's ability to block shots is what made him stand out among projected second-round picks. Selected by the Rockets, the 6-foot-11 center's draft rights were traded twice: first to New York, then to Detroit. With the Pistons moving on from Isaiah Stewart, Onyenso will likely slot in as the third center, with Paul Reed moving into the backup role.

Pistons trade up, add Ebuka Okorie with 17th pick
Tue, Jun 23, 2026, 4:06 PM
Shams Charania
Pistons selected Ebuka Okorie with the No. 17 pick in the NBA Draft.
Analysis: Okorie's lone season at Stanford was an excellent one, as he led the ACC in scoring and was one of the conference's best freshmen. Averaging 23.2 points, 3.6 rebounds, 3.6 assists, 1.6 steals and 2.0 three-pointers, the 6-foot-1 guard shot 46.5 percent from the field, 35.4 percent from three and 83.2 percent from the foul line. Okorie does have room to grow as a perimeter shooter, but his playmaking instincts are excellent. The Pistons sent the Grizzlies three second-round picks to move from 21 to 17 to add Okorie, which came after the Thunder traded two second-round picks to move from 17 to 16. Detroit desperately needed to add another ball handler, and Okorie should fill that void flawlessly. He may not see the volume of minutes that he would need to be a fantasy star, but he'll be very helpful for the Pistons in the non-Cade Cunningham minutes.
Isaiah Stewart
Report: Pistons open to moving Isaiah Stewart
Sat, Jun 20, 2026, 4:11 AM
The Athletic
Sam Amick of The Athletic reported on Friday that the Pistons are open to trading Isaiah Stewart this offseason.
Analysis: Stewart, who has two years and $30 million remaining on his current contract, saw his playing time decrease during the postseason due to Detroit's search for more playmaking alongside Cade Cunningham. To address that issue this summer, Beef Stew could be used to make something happen. And in a separate report, NBA insider Jake Fischer wrote that Stewart is . In 58 games last season, Stewart averaged 10.0 points, 5.0 rebounds and 1.6 blocks in 22.7 minutes. Backing up Jalen Duren has lowered Beef Stew's fantasy ceiling; a move to a place where he would play more could change that. And if Stewart were to be traded, that would free up additional opportunities for Paul Reed.
Jalen Duren
Amick: "huge gap" in Pistons, Duren negotiations
Sat, May 30, 2026, 7:31 AM
Sam Amick
Sam Amick of the Athletic believes initially there will be a “huge gap” in negotiations between the Pistons and Jalen Duren this offseason.
Analysis: Duren was named to the All-NBA third-team last week, making him eligible for a max contract worth up to $287 million over five years. Amick, who appeared on the Run It Back show Friday, said he has a hard time seeing the Pistons offering that much, which potentially could leave the organization and the player far apart in negotiations initially. With only a handful of teams with cap space this offseason, Duren, a restricted free agent, may still get his best offer from the Pistons, even if it isn't a max deal.
Jalen Duren
Jalen Duren, Holmgren among All-NBA 3rd team picks
Sun, May 24, 2026, 1:47 PM
NBA
Jalen Duren, Chet Holmgren, Jalen Johnson, Tyrese Maxey and Jamal Murray were named third-team All-NBA on Sunday.
Analysis: All five third-team selections were named All-NBA for the first time in their respective careers on Sunday. Duren's selection may be the most impactful, as he'll hit restricted free agency next month. The All-NBA selection makes him eligible for a max deal worth up to $287 million over five years. However, given his struggles during the postseason and the Pistons' need to also address Ausar Thompson's future, Duren may not strike it that rich this summer. Especially with other teams unable to offer a deal on par with what the Pistons can.
Ausar Thompson
Ausar Thompson grabs seven rebounds in Game 7
Sun, May 17, 2026, 4:54 PM
Ausar Thompson notched five points (2-of-7 FGs, 0-of-2 FTs), seven rebounds, two blocks and one three-pointer in Sunday's Game 7 loss to the Cavaliers.
Analysis: The Pistons don't look to Thompson for much offensive production, but his deficiencies on that end were a problem against the Cavaliers. While the elite defensive ability is why Ausar logs heavy minutes, the inability to shoot was just as problematic for Detroit as center Jalen Duren's struggles. Extension-eligible this summer, Thompson must make strides on offense to not only raise Detroit's ceiling but his as well. Fantasy-wise, Ausar is capable of offering excellent value in category leagues, but only if he can expand his game.
Tobias Harris
Tobias Harris limited to five points in Game 7
Sun, May 17, 2026, 4:53 PM
Tobias Harris recorded five points (0-of-6 FGs, 5-of-6 FTs), five rebounds, two assists, one steal and one block in Sunday's Game 7 loss to the Cavaliers.
Analysis: Having performed admirably throughout the postseason, Harris appeared to run out of gas in the second round. After scoring 20 points or more in each of the first three games, the veteran forward totaled 40 points in Games 4 through 7. On Sunday, Harris failed to make a shot from the field, prompting some to flash back to his final game as a 76er, when he went scoreless in Game 6 loss to the Knicks in the first round of the 2024 playoffs. In recent years, Harris has exceeded expectations in fantasy basketball. Whether he does the same in 2026-27 depends on where he'll be, as Harris will be an unrestricted free agent.
Jalen Duren
Jalen Duren offers little value in Game 7 defeat
Sun, May 17, 2026, 4:53 PM
Keerthika Uthayakumar
Jalen Duren produced seven points (3-of-7 FGs, 1-of-2 FTs), nine rebounds, three assists and one block in Sunday's Game 7 loss to the Cavaliers.
Analysis: Sunday's defeat was the painful conclusion to Duren's disappointing playoff run. While active on the boards, the Pistons' center did not offer much value in Game 7. After averaging 19.5 points per game during the regular season, that number dropped to 10.2 in the playoffs. And with Duren hitting restricted free agency next month, the question is how these playoffs will affect his market. From a fantasy standpoint, Duren has top-50 potential, and he can be even more valuable to managers willing to punt free-throw percentage.
Cade Cunningham
Cade Cunningham struggles in Game 7 defeat
Sun, May 17, 2026, 4:52 PM
Cade Cunningham amassed 13 points (5-of-16 FGs, 3-of-3 FTs), four rebounds, five assists and two steals in Sunday's Game 7 loss to the Cavaliers.
Analysis: Efficiency was an issue for Cunningham throughout the Cleveland series, but he had his worst showing in Game 7. While the Pistons' point guard committed a respectable three turnovers, he was 0-of-7 from beyond the arc. Given Detroit's limitations on offense, they can't afford for Cunningham not to be at his best when the lights shine brightest. However, the end should not take away from Cade's play throughout the season. A likely All-NBA selection, he offers first-round fantasy value in formats that either don't count or punt turnovers.
Kevin Huerter
Kevin Huerter (adductor) available for Game 7
Sun, May 17, 2026, 1:45 PM
NBA Injury Report
Kevin Huerter (adductor) is available for Sunday's Game 7 against the Cavaliers.
Analysis: Huerter was available for Game 6 but did not play after aggravating his strained adductor during Game 5. Given the lack of playing time, his role is likely to be limited for Game 7.
Caris LeVert
Caris LeVert (heel) upgraded to available Sunday
Sun, May 17, 2026, 1:39 PM
NBA Injury Report
Caris LeVert (heel) is available for Sunday's Game 7 against the Cavaliers.
Analysis: LeVert is officially available after being listed as questionable on the Pistons' initial injury report. He'll take on his usual reserve role, likely surpassing 25 minutes as Detroit looks to advance to the conference finals for the first time since 2008.
Duncan Robinson
Duncan Robinson (back) upgraded to available
Sun, May 17, 2026, 1:35 PM
NBA Injury Report
Duncan Robinson (back) is available for Sunday's Game 7 against the Cavaliers.
Analysis: Robinson, who logged 20 minutes in Game 6 after sitting out Game 5 with a sore lower back, is good to go for Sunday's series decider. He'll remain in a reserve role for Game 7, with Daniss Jenkins making his third consecutive start alongside Cade Cunningham.
Kevin Huerter
Kevin Huerter (adductor) questionable for Game 7
Sat, May 16, 2026, 10:57 AM
NBA Injury Report
Kevin Huerter (adductor) is questionable for Sunday's Game 7 against the Cavaliers.
Analysis: After logging three minutes in Game 5, Huerter picked up a DNP-CD for Detroit's Game 6 victory on Friday due to aggravating his strained adductor. If available for Sunday's series decider, Red Velvet is unlikely to get the minutes needed to impact the outcome.
