Cody Bradford
Cody Bradford Starting rehab assignment
Thu, Apr 2, 2026, 2:00 PM
Bradford (elbow) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Round Rock on Thursday.
Analysis: It will be Bradford's first official game action since he underwent an internal brace procedure on his left elbow last June. The left-hander will need most, if not all, of the allotted 30 days on his rehab assignment, but if all goes well he could be ready to pitch for the Rangers around May 1. Whether the Rangers use Bradford as a starter or reliever upon his activation could depend on what the team's needs are at the time.
Corey Seager
Corey Seager Ropes homer in loss
Thu, Apr 2, 2026, 7:58 AM
Seager went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Wednesday's 8-3 loss to the Orioles.
Analysis: Seager's eighth-inning shot, which traveled 422 feet to right center, was his second homer in as many days and and third of the season. He's also walked five times (.429 OBP) and reached base safely in all six games played.
Josh Jung
Josh Jung Logs first hits
Thu, Apr 2, 2026, 7:51 AM
Jung went 2-for-4 with an RBI in Wednesday's 8-3 loss to Baltimore.
Analysis: Jung, who returned to the lineup after a getting a day off Tuesday, logged his first hits of the season and drove in his first run. He was hitless over his first 18 at-bats before a run-scoring single in the fourth inning. Tuesday's rest day may have been the ticket for Jung, who registered three hard-hit batted-ball events, per Statcast.
Nathan Eovaldi
Nathan Eovaldi Hit hard in Baltimore
Wed, Apr 1, 2026, 3:20 PM
Eovaldi (0-2) took the loss Wednesday, surrendering six runs on eight hits and three walks over four-plus innings as the Rangers fell 8-3 to the Orioles. He struck out five.
Analysis: The right-hander dealt with runners in scoring position in each of the first three innings, but after he seemed to settle down with a 1-2-3 fourth, Samuel Basallo led off the fifth with a solo shot. Eovaldi's had a rough start to 2026, getting tagged for 11 runs in 8.2 innings despite a 12:3 K:BB, and he's having trouble keeping the ball in the yard. After serving up just 10 homers in 22 starts as part of his career year in 2025, Eovaldi has already coughed up three homers in two starts to kick off the current campaign. He'll look to regain his focus in his next outing, which is set to come at home early next week against the Mariners.
Emiliano Teodo
Emiliano Teodo Wild early on at Triple-A
Wed, Apr 1, 2026, 10:16 AM
Teodo (back) has allowed three runs (two earned) on zero hits and three walks while recording three outs through his first two relief appearances at Triple-A Round Rock. He's also hit three batters and has thrown three wild pitches.
Analysis: Before the Rangers optioned him to minor-league camp March 2, Teodo had been tending to a back injury early in spring training that prevented him from making any Cactus League appearances. Teodo was apparently able to move past the issue ahead of the start of the Triple-A season, and he'll be primed to fill a key relief role for Round Rock in 2026. The right-hander has gotten off to a rough start through his first two appearances and will need to show improved control over an extended period before earning his first big-league call-up.
Joc Pederson
Joc Pederson Idle against southpaw
Wed, Apr 1, 2026, 10:10 AM
Pederson is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Orioles.
Analysis: The left-handed-hitting Pederson has now hit the bench for each of the Rangers' first three matchups versus southpaws, which doesn't come as a major surprise with the 33-year-old having produced a 79 wRC+ over 668 career plate appearances against lefties. Andrew McCutchen is expected to serve as Pederson's primary platoon mate this season, but Brandon Nimmo will be in the designated-hitter spot Wednesday while McCutchen draws his first start in right field.
Josh Smith
Josh Smith Idle against southpaw
Wed, Apr 1, 2026, 10:06 AM
Smith is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Orioles.
Analysis: Smith was part of the lineup against a lefty (the Phillies' Cristopher Sanchez) on Opening Day, but the left-handed-hitting infielder will hit the bench for a second straight matchup versus a southpaw. Ezequiel Duran will get the nod at second base Wednesday against Trevor Rogers and could serve as a regular platoon partner for Smith.
Kyle Higashioka
Kyle Higashioka On bench Wednesday
Wed, Apr 1, 2026, 10:04 AM
Higashioka is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Orioles.
Analysis: Through Texas' first six games, Higashioka has drawn two starts at catcher to Danny Jansen's four. The Rangers could split the reps fairly equitably between the two backstops this season, but at least in the early going, Jansen looks to be Option 1A of the duo.
Corey Seager
Corey Seager Goes deep in win
Wed, Apr 1, 2026, 8:29 AM
Seager went 2-for-4 with a walk, a home run and two RBI in Tuesday's 8-5 win over Baltimore.
Analysis: Seager clubbed his second homer of the season, a solo shot in the ninth inning. The multi-hit effort was the third in five starts for Seager, who is 6-for-18 with four RBI to open the season. The early production is an encouraging sign for the shortstop, who was limited to 102 games in 2025.
Ezequiel Duran
Ezequiel Duran Homers in win
Wed, Apr 1, 2026, 8:18 AM
Duran started at third base and went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Tuesday's 8-5 win over the Orioles.
Analysis: Duran put the Rangers up early with a solo shot in the third inning. He filled in for the struggling Josh Jung, who is 0-for-17 to start the season. The versatile Duran has started twice this season -- the other start coming at second base -- and contributed an extra-base hit and RBI in each contest.
Josh Jung
Josh Jung Getting Tuesday off
Tue, Mar 31, 2026, 2:48 PM
Jung is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Orioles.
Analysis: The third baseman will get a day to rest after going 0-for-17 with seven strikeouts to open the campaign. Ezequiel Duran will start at third base in place of Jung on Tuesday as Texas goes up against Baltimore righty Zach Eflin.
Jacob deGrom
Jacob deGrom Cleared to start Tuesday
Tue, Mar 31, 2026, 9:07 AM
DeGrom (neck) has been cleared to start Tuesday's game in Baltimore.
Analysis: DeGrom had to be scratched from his first scheduled start of the season Saturday in Philadelphia due to neck stiffness, but he's improved enough in the days since then to take the ball Tuesday. With deGrom ready to go, Jacob Latz -- who tossed four scoreless frames in a spot start in deGrom's stead versus the Phillies -- will head back to the bullpen.
Jake Burger
Jake Burger Continues to rake
Tue, Mar 31, 2026, 8:53 AM
Burger went 2-for-4 with a double, two RBI and a run scored in Monday's 5-2 win over Baltimore.
Analysis: Early on, Burger's powerful bat appears to be back after a regression in 2025, when he had a career-low .419 slugging percentage. The first baseman has hit safely and scored a run in all four games thus far, going 8-for-17 with three extra-base hits (two home runs) and six RBI.
Josh Jung
Josh Jung Extends hitless run
Tue, Mar 31, 2026, 8:41 AM
Jung went 0-for-5 with two strikeouts in Monday's 5-2 win over the Orioles.
Analysis: Jung is having a rough start to the regular season. After going 0-for-12 in the season-opening series in Philadelphia, the third basemen extended the futility in Baltimore to 17 at-bats without a hit. His hard-hit rate (30 percent) and average exit velocity (79.9 mph) are worrisome. It could be that he needs time after getting only 18 plate appearances in spring training due to an adductor issue.
Dairon Blanco
Dairon Blanco Outrighted to Triple-A
Mon, Mar 30, 2026, 12:34 PM
The Rangers Francys Romero of BeisbolFR.com Blanco to Triple-A Round Rock on Monday, mmm reports.
Analysis: He passed through waivers unclaimed after being removed from the 40-man roster last week. Blanco could decline the assignment since he's been outrighted previously, but it appears he plans to stick around in the organization as outfield depth.
Ryan Brasier
Ryan Brasier Back with Texas on MiLB deal
Mon, Mar 30, 2026, 9:29 AM
Brasier re-signed Friday with the Rangers on a minor-league contract.
Analysis: Texas had previously released Brasier on March 21 after he failed to secure a spot in the club's Opening Day roster, but after assessing his options as a free agent, he ultimately chose to stick around in the organization on another minor-league pact. The 38-year-old righty reported to Triple-A Round Rock and debuted for the affiliate Sunday, striking out one batter over 1.1 scoreless innings of relief.
Ezequiel Duran
Ezequiel Duran Contributes to win
Mon, Mar 30, 2026, 6:17 AM
Duran started at second base and went 1-for-4 with a double, an RBI and a run scored in Sunday's 8-3 win over the Phillies.
Analysis: Duran entered the starting nine for the first time this season, replacing Josh Smith at second base against Philadelphia lefty Jesus Luzardo. There's been no indication Duran and Smith are in a strict platoon -- Smith started Opening Day against a lefty -- and Sunday's start could merely be manager Skip Schumaker keeping his bench players involved.
Sam Haggerty
Sam Haggerty Steps in against lefty
Mon, Mar 30, 2026, 6:08 AM
Haggerty started in left field and went 1-for-2 with a run scored in Sunday's 8-3 win over Philadelphia.
Analysis: Haggerty, who replaced Evan Carter against a lefty, singled and scored in the third inning. The former occupies the short end of a platoon, as Carter has struggled against southpaws. The switch-hitting Haggerty, who is better against lefties than righties, was eventually removed when a right-handed reliever entered the contest. In a minor role for the Rangers in 2025, Haggerty stole 12 bases in 64 games, the third time in the previous four seasons he's reached double-digit steals in a part-time role.
Brandon Nimmo
Brandon Nimmo Logs first HR as Ranger
Mon, Mar 30, 2026, 5:50 AM
Nimmo went 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBI in Sunday's 8-3 win over the Phillies.
Analysis: Nimmo gave Texas a lead it would never relinquish with a two-run home run in the third inning, his first in a Rangers' uniform. He was one of three new employees that contributed to the win along with Andrew McCutchen (HR, three RBI) and winning pitcher MacKenzie Gore (two runs, seven Ks, 5.1 innings). The early returns are positive for Nimmo, who also contributed to Saturday's win and went 4-for-12 out of the leadoff spot in winning two of three on the road against Philadelphia.
Tyler Alexander
Tyler Alexander Secures save Saturday
Sun, Mar 29, 2026, 8:22 PM
Alexander earned a save after tossing one inning, allowing an unearned run on one hit and a hit-by-pitch while striking out a batter in Saturday's 5-4 extra-inning win over the Phillies.
Analysis: Alexander was the next man up after Texas turned to Robert Garcia and Chris Martin in the ninth inning. Alexander hit Otto Kemp with an 84.8 mph cutter to open the frame before later surrendering a two-out single by Bryce Harper, which drove in the inherited runner at second base. The southpaw was then able to settle in and strand Kemp at third base to end the game by getting Alec Bohm to pop out for the final out. Alexander isn't necessarily in the mix quite yet for the closer's role, but he is the first Ranger to notch a save in 2026.
