Caleb Kilian Strikes out side to secure save
Sun, May 24, 2026, 8:17 PM
Kilian earned his third save of the season in Sunday's 8-5 win over the White Sox, striking out the side in a scoreless ninth inning.
Analysis: Kilian made easy work of the the top of the order for the White Sox, with the right-hander getting every batter he faced to strikeout swinging. It was the first time this season that he logged three strikeouts in a game, and he has collected all three of his saves over his last six outings. Kilian looks to be the Giants' preferred closer, with Erik Miller and Matt Gage also in the mix for opportunities.
Casey Schmitt
Casey Schmitt Drives in three runs Sunday
Sun, May 24, 2026, 8:07 PM
Schmitt went 2-for-4 with an RBI double, a two-run home run and two additional runs scored during the Giants' 8-5 win over the White Sox on Sunday.
Analysis: Schmitt put the Giants on the board with an RBI double in the first inning and extended his team's lead to 4-1 with a two-run homer in the third. He's been hot at the plate over his last eight games, going 13-for-34 (.382) with five home runs, 11 RBI and eight runs scored in that span. Schmitt is up to 11 home runs on the season, one shy from tying his mark in 2025.
Robbie Ray
Robbie Ray Command issues in no-decision
Sun, May 24, 2026, 8:04 PM
Ray did not factor into Sunday's decision against the White Sox, allowing four runs on two hits and seven walks while striking out three across four innings.
Analysis: Ray put the Giants behind early after giving up a leadoff home run to Chase Meidroth in the first inning. Ray struggled with his command, logging only 47 strikes on 92 pitches while issuing a career-worst seven walks, and he allowed at least two baserunners in four of the five innings he pitched. Ray has given up 14 runs (13 earned) over his last two starts, ballooning his numbers to a 4.60 ERA and 1.38 WHIP over 58.2 innings. He'll look to bounce back in his next start, which is slated for next weekend on the road against the Rockies.
Rafael Devers
Rafael Devers Smacks grand slam in Sunday's win
Sun, May 24, 2026, 7:34 PM
Devers went 2-for-4 with a grand slam and an RBI double during the Giants' 8-5 win over the White Sox on Sunday.
Analysis: Devers opened things up with an RBI double in the first inning, but his biggest contribution came in the fifth, when he smacked a grand slam off Grant Taylor to give the Giants an 8-4 lead. Devers struggled to a .537 OPS through the first 31 games of the regular season but has been much better at the place since May 1, posting a .935 OPS with five home runs, nine doubles and 14 RBI in 90 plate appearances this month.
Logan Webb
Logan Webb On cusp of IL return
Sun, May 24, 2026, 4:38 PM
Manager Tony Vitello said Sunday that Webb (knee) is "a good option" to return from the 15-day injured list to make a start during the Giants' upcoming three-game series versus the Diamondbacks in San Francisco, Justice delos Santos of The San Jose Mercury News reports.
Analysis: Vitello was careful to note that the Giants haven't decided on Webb's next steps, but the right-hander said that he feels physically ready to rejoin the San Francisco rotation after making a rehab start with Triple-A Sacramento on Friday. He covered 3.1 innings and tossed 62 pitches in the start, striking out two batters while allowing one unearned run on two hits and three walks. The Giants will likely reassess Webb during a bullpen session Monday before deciding whether he'll be ready to start Wednesday against Arizona.
Drew Gilbert
Drew Gilbert Not starting against lefty
Sun, May 24, 2026, 2:06 PM
Gilbert is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the White Sox.
Analysis: The left-handed-hitting Gilbert will hit the bench with southpaw Noah Schultz on the hill for Chicago, paving the way for Victor Bericoto to pick up a start in right field. Gilbert had started in each of the Giants' last four games against right-handed pitching and should be able to hold down a strong-side platoon role in the outfield until either Jung Hoo Lee (back) or Heliot Ramos (quadriceps) returns from the injured list.
Bryce Eldridge
Bryce Eldridge On bench against southpaw
Sun, May 24, 2026, 2:03 PM
Eldridge is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the White Sox.
Analysis: Though he'll be head to the bench while lefty Noah Schultz takes the hill for Chicago, the left-handed-hitting Eldridge appears to be gaining traction in the San Francisco lineup against righties. Eldridge has started in each of the Giants' last three matchups versus right-handed starters or primary pitchers, going 3-for-11 with a double, a walk, an RBI and a run.
Harrison Bader
Harrison Bader Belts grand slam to power rout
Sat, May 23, 2026, 9:59 PM
Bader went 2-for-4 with a grand slam in Saturday's 10-3 win over the White Sox.
Analysis: The center fielder broke the game open when he took Jordan Leasure deep in the fifth inning. It was Bader's fifth homer of the season, and fourth in 10 games since being activated from the IL in mid-May after recovering from a hamstring strain. Over that stretch, he's batting .263 (10-for-38) with three doubles, six runs and 10 RBI.
Adrian Houser
Adrian Houser Can't take advantage of run support
Sat, May 23, 2026, 9:56 PM
Houser didn't factor into the decision in Saturday's 10-3 win over the White Sox, giving up three runs on seven hits over 4.2 innings. He struck out five without walking a batter.
Analysis: The veteran right-hander got handed a 3-0 lead in the fourth inning, but Houser immediately gave it right back in the top of the fifth and got the hook after 79 pitches (55 strikes), taking him out of the equation for the win when the Giants broke the game open in the bottom of the frame. Houser has allowed three runs or fewer in five straight starts, posting a 3.33 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and 17:11 K:BB over 27 innings during that stretch. He'll look to keep that momentum going in his next outing, which is set to come on the road next weekend in Colorado.
Matt Chapman
Matt Chapman Doubles in defeat
Sat, May 23, 2026, 10:30 AM
Chapman went 1-for-3 with a double, a walk and a run scored in Friday's 9-4 loss to the White Sox.
Analysis: Chapman lined a double to right field in the sixth inning before coming around to score San Francisco's final run. The veteran third baseman has recorded at least one hit in five of his last six games, batting .304 with five runs scored and two RBI in 26 plate appearances during that span. Overall, he's slashing .228/.305/.317 with 21 runs scored, 16 RBI and one home run in 210 plate appearances this season.

Analysis: Arraez hit an RBI single in the fifth inning and added another base hit in the seventh. The 29-year-old has tallied at least one hit in six of his last seven games, batting .429 with five runs scored, four RBI and two homers in 32 plate appearances during that span. Overall, he's slashing .321/.359/.421 with 21 runs scored, 18 RBI, four stolen bases and two long balls across 209 plate appearances this season.
Daniel Susac
Daniel Susac Idle Friday
Fri, May 22, 2026, 7:56 PM
Susac isn't in the lineup for Friday's game against the White Sox, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
Analysis: Susac has reached base six times and driven in two runs across his last three games, but the Giants will keep him on the bench to begin Friday's contest. Jesus Rodriguez will get the nod at catcher and bat seventh.
Jung Hoo Lee
Jung Hoo Lee Moves to injured list
Fri, May 22, 2026, 7:26 PM
The Giants placed Lee on the 10-day injured list Friday, retroactive to Tuesday, with a mid-back strain.
Analysis: Lee hasn't played since making an early exit from Monday's contest with what was initially labeled as back spasms. Upon further evaluation, the Giants determined the 27-year-old had suffered a strain, so they'll stash him away on the IL for at least a week. Will Brennan is a candidate to receive the bulk of starts in right field as long as Lee is sidelined, and Victor Bericoto will come up from Triple-A to replenish the big club's outfield depth.
Heliot Ramos
Heliot Ramos Receives PRP injection in quad
Fri, May 22, 2026, 5:16 PM
Ramos received a PRP injection in his injured right quadriceps and will be shut down for one week, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
Analysis: Ramos was placed on the 10-day injured list with a strained right quad last weekend and will now take it easy for the next seven days. The outfielder is looking at more than the minimum 10 days on the injured list. Ramos has slashed .267/.307/.424 with four home runs, 20 RBI, 19 runs scored and a 10:47 BB:K across 176 plate appearances this season.
Logan Webb
Logan Webb Likely to return next week
Fri, May 22, 2026, 11:38 AM
Webb (knee) is slated to make a rehab start at Triple-A Sacramento on Friday and expects to return from the 15-day injured list next week, Shayna Rubin of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
Analysis: Webb has been on the shelf since May 9 due to right knee bursitis, but after checking out fine following a bullpen session Tuesday, he's ready to test himself in a game setting. A Friday rehab start would position the right-hander to rejoin the big-league rotation next Wednesday versus the Diamondbacks in San Francisco. Once Webb is back in the fold, the Giants will have to decide whether to move forward with a six-man rotation, demote Trevor McDonald to Triple-A Sacramento or move one of Tyler Mahle or Adrian Houser to the bullpen.
Contract selected by Giants
Fri, May 22, 2026, 11:00 AM
The Giants selected Bericoto's contract from Triple-A Sacramento on Friday, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
Analysis: The 24-year-old has put together a .299/.355/.449 slash line with six home runs over his first 43 contests with Sacramento this season. Bericoto is a corner outfielder and first baseman by trade, and he will be making his major-league debut when he gets into a game. It's unclear at this point what the Giants' corresponding roster move will be.
Matt Chapman
Matt Chapman Multi-hit effort in loss
Thu, May 21, 2026, 1:04 PM
Chapman went 2-for-4 with two runs scored in Wednesday's 6-3 loss to Arizona.
Analysis: Chapman singled in the second inning before coming around to score, and he added another base hit and run in the fourth. The veteran third baseman hit just .083 in his first 13 appearances in May, though he's logged at least one hit in four of his last five outings since. Overall, he's now slashing .226/.301/.312 with 20 runs scored, 16 RBI and a home run across 206 plate appearances this season.
Bryce Eldridge
Bryce Eldridge Doubles in defeat
Thu, May 21, 2026, 12:58 PM
Eldridge went 1-for-4 with an RBI double in Wednesday's 6-3 loss to the Diamondbacks.
Analysis: Eldridge hit an RBI double in the second inning to give San Francisco an early 2-1 lead, albeit in a losing effort. The 21-year-old's two-bagger was just his second extra-base hit of the season. Eldridge has logged at least one hit in each of his last two appearances and is now slashing .156/.229/.281 with two RBI, a run scored and a home run across 35 plate appearances on the campaign.
Casey Schmitt
Casey Schmitt Homers in loss
Wed, May 20, 2026, 8:30 PM
Schmitt went 1-4 with a home run and an RBI in Wednesday's 6-3 loss against the Diamondbacks.
Analysis: Schmitt scored the first run of the game with a home run off of Merrill Kelly in the first inning for his ninth of the season. The 27-year-old is working his way into the lineup with five straight starts and hits in each one to boost his batting average to .293 and his OPS to .866. After splitting time with rookie Bryce Eldridge for much of the season, the utility has made the case to start everyday in either the outfield or infield.
Tyler Mahle
Tyler Mahle Earns loss in start
Wed, May 20, 2026, 8:12 PM
Mahle (1-6) gave up six runs on eights hits while walking no one and striking out six in Wednesday's 6-3 loss to the Diamondbacks.
Analysis: Mahle pitched well until the fifth inning, where Arizona got four hits and scored three runs to take the lead. That marks Mahle's third straight start allowing four or more runs to elevate his ERA to 6.10 this season over ten starts. The 31-year-old is projected for a start at home against the Diamondbacks again next week.
