Daniel Jones
Daniel Jones Team optimistic about Week 1
Mon, Apr 20, 2026, 8:44 PM
Colts general manager Chris Ballard said Monday that Jones (Achilles) is progressing well and added that the club is shooting for the QB to be ready to play by Week 1 of the upcoming season, James Palmer of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: Palmer notes that the Colts aren't putting a timeline on Jones' return to game action, but Ballard's comments indicate that the signal-caller could be ready from the outset of the campaign. Ballard said that Jones is currently throwing and moving and is in a "really good spot," echoing the viewpoint the QB shared on The Pat McAfee Show in mid-March. Indianapolis placed the transition tag on Jones in early March before signing him to a two-year deal less than two weeks later, making it clear that the organization views him as a central part of the team's future.
Brycen Tremayne
Brycen Tremayne Signs tender with Panthers
Mon, Apr 20, 2026, 6:33 PM
Tremayne inked his exclusive-rights free-agent tender with Carolina on Monday, Darin Gantt of the team's official site reports.
Analysis: Tremayne will officially return to Carolina for at least another season after being tendered by the club in early March. The 26-year-old was a regular part of the offense for the first time as a pro last year, tallying 14 catches for 160 yards over 262 offensive snaps spanning 16 regular-season games. He also played regularly on special teams and likely will retain the same role as a depth wideout and special-teamer during the upcoming season.
Jalen Coker
Jalen Coker Inks ERFA tender
Mon, Apr 20, 2026, 6:16 PM
Coker signed his exclusive-rights free-agent tender with the Panthers on Monday, Darin Gantt of the team's official site reports.
Analysis: Coker was tendered by Carolina in early March and made his return to the team official Monday. The 24-year-old posted a 33-394-3 receiving line over 11 regular-season contests last year, nearly replicating his stats from his rookie 2024 campaign. However, Coker exploded for a 9-134-1 line in the Panthers' wild-card round loss to the Rams, and he could take another step forward as one of QB Bryce Young's top targets during the upcoming campaign.
Xavier Smith
Xavier Smith Signs tender with Rams
Mon, Apr 20, 2026, 5:19 PM
Smith signed his exclusive-rights tender with the Rams on Monday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Analysis: Smith signed a $1.075 million tender to remain with the Rams in 2026. The depth wide receiver is all set to suit up as a special teams player who also can provide offensive utility for quarterback Matthew Stafford. Smith hauled in 18 receptions for 303 yards over 16 regular-season contests in 2025, a significant improvement from his two receptions for six yards in the Rams' 2024 campaign.
Nikko Remigio
Nikko Remigio Remaining with Kansas City
Mon, Apr 20, 2026, 4:55 PM
Remigio (knee) signed his exclusive-rights tender with the Chiefs on Monday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Analysis: Remigio missed the last two games of the 2025 regular season due to a knee injury. Now healthy, the kick and punt returner is set to run it back with the Chiefs for the 2026 regular season. Remigio played in 14 regular-season games in 2025, totaling 741 kick-return yards and 191 punt-return yards.
Sean Tucker
Sean Tucker Signs deal with Bucs
Mon, Apr 20, 2026, 4:53 PM
The Buccaneers signed Tucker, who had been a restricted free agent, on Monday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Analysis: Tucker recorded 320 yards on 86 carries in 17 games during the 2025 regular season, while working behind Bucky Irving and Rachaad White. While White is now with the Commanders, the Bucs added Kenneth Gainwell to their backfield via free agency last month, and the presence of the former Steeler sets the stage for Tucker to remain the team's No. 3 RB in 2026.
Matthew Stafford
Matthew Stafford Closing in on new extension
Mon, Apr 20, 2026, 1:46 PM
Stafford and the Rams are progressing toward a new contract extension, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Analysis: Stafford may not attend all offseason activities until a new extension is finalized by the sound of things, though Adam Grosbard of The Orange County Register reports that the age-38 QB is present for the start of Los Angeles' voluntary workout program Monday. Of course, with Stafford coming off an MVP season in which he threw a career-high 46 TDs to go with 4,707 passing yards, there's little reason to be concerned about rust. His current deal runs through the 2026 season, though head coach Sean McVay expressed optimism earlier this offseason that Stafford could extend his career beyond this upcoming campaign. Meanwhile, star wideout Puka Nacua is attending voluntary workouts after having checked into a rehab facility in March.
Puka Nacua
Puka Nacua Present for voluntary workouts
Mon, Apr 20, 2026, 1:39 PM
Nacua is participating in the start of the Rams' voluntary offseason workouts Monday, Gary Klein of the Los Angeles Times reports.
Analysis: Nacua checked into a rehab facility in March and now is back at team facilities and participating in strength and conditioning with teammates. The All-Pro wideout, who led the NFL with 129 receptions across his 17 regular-season appearances in 2025 while totaling a career-high 1,715 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns, is entering the final year of his rookie contract. That makes the 24-year-old eligible for an extension, the likes of which could rival the four-year, $168.6 million deal fellow 2023 draftee Jaxon Smith-Njigba received from Seattle earlier this offseason, though Nacua's off-field circumstances may complicate negotiations, per the Los Angeles Times. A civil lawsuit was filed against Nacua in March, stemming from a Dec. 31, 2025 incident. Head coach Sean McVay said in late March that the team's "expectations" are that "this will be an opportunity for [Nacua] to learn and grow, and we are hopeful that he's a Ram for a really long time."
Patrick Mahomes
Patrick Mahomes Rehabbing at voluntary workouts
Mon, Apr 20, 2026, 1:22 PM
Mahomes (knee) is in attendance for the start of Kansas City's voluntary workouts Monday, Dave Skretta of The Associated Press reports.
Analysis: Head coach Andy Reid said Mahomes is participating in weight training and meetings as the 30-year-old QB continues to progress in his recovery from surgery undergone in mid-December to repair ACL and LCL tears in his left knee. Mahomes said in mid-January that "the goal" is "to play Week 1 and have no restrictions," but he cautioned that he "can't predict what happens throughout the process." Monday kicked off Kansas City's two-week period of strength and conditioning, after which point the team will begin limited on-field work and walkthroughs. At that stage, the extent of Mahomes' participation will be worth monitoring. Of course, the expectation is that new backup quarterback Justin Fields (knee) will operate as the Chiefs' top signal-caller for most of the offseason.
Odell Beckham
Odell Beckham Works out for Giants
Mon, Apr 20, 2026, 1:00 PM
Beckham worked out for the Giants on Monday, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.
Analysis: Per Garafolo, Beckham is undergoing a physical, which opens the door for a potential reunion with the team that drafted him back in 2014. The 33-year-old wideout didn't see NFL action in 2025 but did work with coach John Harbaugh (while with the Ravens) in 2023, en route to catching 35 passes for 565 yards and three TDs in 14 regular-season contests. If Beckham does sign with the Giants, he'd add depth and experience to a WR corps that currently features Malik Nabers, Darius Slayton, Darnell Mooney and Calvin Austin, though it's possible the team could add further competition to the mix via the upcoming NFL Draft.
Jimmy Garoppolo
Jimmy Garoppolo Considering retirement, per report
Mon, Apr 20, 2026, 12:31 PM
Garoppolo is reportedly considering retirement, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Analysis: Garoppolo has spent the last two seasons with the Rams as Matthew Stafford's top backup, but the 34-year-old, who has 64 career regular-season starts to his credit, has yet to decide if he'll continue playing in 2026. For now, Stafford and Stetson Bennett are the QBs the Rams currently have under contract, but it's possible the team could add depth at the position at the upcoming NFL Draft.
Alec Pierce
Alec Pierce Recovering from ankle procedure
Mon, Apr 20, 2026, 11:46 AM
Colts general manager Chris Ballard said Monday that Pierce is facing roughly a three-month recovery timeframe after undergoing a "clean-up" ankle procedure, Noah Compton of SI.com reports.
Analysis: Ballard noted that Pierce is expected to retake the field during training camp, which kicks off in late July, and that the team doesn't "expect any long-term implications" resulting from his ankle procedure. The only two regular-season games Pierce missed in 2025 were due to the NFL's concussion protocol, though he was briefly listed with an Achilles issue on the injury report in mid-December. Pierce re-signed with Indianapolis on a four-year, $116 million deal this offseason and faces a clearer path to targets after the team traded fellow WR Michael Pittman to Pittsburgh, though it still remains to be seen whether QB Daniel Jones (Achilles) -- who re-signed via a two-year extension in March -- will be ready to start Week 1.
Anthony Richardson
Anthony Richardson Skipping voluntary workouts
Mon, Apr 20, 2026, 11:23 AM
Richardson (eye) is not participating in the start of the Colts' voluntary offseason workout program Monday, Stephen Holder of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Richardson and cornerback Kenny Moore both submitted trade requests earlier this offseason and now are sitting out voluntary workouts. On Richardson's part, however, it's worth noting that GM Chris Ballard said at the annual league meeting in late March that a scenario in which the 2023 first-round pick remains in Indianapolis "definitely" exists, per Stephen Holder of ESPN.com. With the Colts having locked in Daniel Jones (Achilles) as their starter via a two-year extension, a mutual parting of ways with Richardson seems to make the most sense for both sides, but that depends on a trade partner materializing. Ballard said Monday that Richardson still is recovering from his eye injury, but "he's cleared for activity and doing everything," James Boyd of The Athletic reports.
Aaron Rodgers
Aaron Rodgers No word yet on playing status
Mon, Apr 20, 2026, 11:18 AM
As the NFL Draft approaches, the Steelers have not yet received word from Rodgers regarding his plans for the 2026 season, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero report.
Analysis: The report indicates that at this stage there's no expectation that the QB's decision will arrive prior to the start of the draft on Thursday. Previously, Steelers owner Art Rooney II noted that he expected an answer from Rodgers "by the draft," but for now, while Rodgers continues to mull his future, Will Howard and Mason Rudolph are the only signal-callers Pittsburgh has under contract.
A.J. Brown
A.J. Brown Patriots remain in mix for trade
Mon, Apr 20, 2026, 7:20 AM
The Patriots remain at the clear forefront in terms of trade talks for Brown, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.
Analysis: Considering that a potential deal for Brown isn't likely to happen before June 1, Schefter notes that another team still could emerge as a contender to acquire the wideout, but for now the Patriots appear to be the favorite to land the 28-year-old. Added context regarding the chances of New England being Brown's landing spot will arrive in the coming days, via the team's approach to the WR position at the upcoming NFL Draft. Meanwhile, since the end of the 2025 regular season, the Eagles have bolstered their depth at wide receiver by adding Hollywood Brown, Dontayvion Wicks and Elijah Moore.
Jacoby Brissett
Jacoby Brissett Seeking raise to starter-level pay
Fri, Apr 17, 2026, 12:46 PM
Brissett isn't attending Phase 1 of Arizona's offseason program and is seeking an extension that will pay him commensurate with being a starting quarterback, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Analysis: Brissett is scheduled to make $9.06 million in 2026 but has only $1.5 million in guaranteed money in his current contract. The Cardinals appear willing to address Brissett's request, per Rapoport. Until a new deal is agreed upon, the 33-year-old quarterback will likely remain away from team activities. Brissett started the final 12 games of the 2025 season for the Cardinals and is expected to serve as the team's starting quarterback in 2026, though he posted an uninspiring 1-11 record as a starter last season.
Quentin Johnston
Quentin Johnston GM shuts down trade rumors
Fri, Apr 17, 2026, 9:21 AM
Chargers general manager Joe Hortiz said Thursday that Johnston isn't on the trade block, Kris Rhim of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: "There's a lot of rumors out there on Twitter," Hortiz said. "And I can tell you this, I have made zero calls about Quentin, and I've had zero calls regarding Quentin." Johnston is heading into the fourth year of his rookie contract, and the Chargers have until May 1 to decide whether to pick up the 2023 first-round pick's $18.1 million fifth-year option for 2027. The 6-foot-2 wide receiver has recorded eight touchdown catches in each of the last two regular seasons, but Johnston has struggled with drops throughout his NFL career.
De'Von Achane
De'Von Achane Shows up to voluntary wrkouts
Thu, Apr 16, 2026, 1:06 PM
Achane was spotted at the Dolphins' training facility Thursday for the first time since the start of the team's voluntary offseason program, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Analysis: Entering the final year of his rookie contract, Achane is in the midst of negotiations toward a long-term extension. The Dolphins have shut down trade rumors, and it sounds like Achane is on board for their rebuilding project as long as he's happy with his compensation. Given his age (24) and monstrous production, Achane probably hopes to top Saquon Barkley's RB-leading totals for average annual value ($20.6 million) and fully guaranteed money ($36 million). For now, Achane will focus on learning a new playbook under new head coach Jeff Hafley and offensive coordinator Bobby Slowik. On-field work doesn't start until mid-to-late May, with mandatory minicamp then scheduled for June 2-4.
Cam Ward
Cam Ward May throw passes at minicamp
Thu, Apr 16, 2026, 9:38 AM
Titans GM Mike Borgonzi said Thursday that Ward (shoulder) is on track to throw passes at voluntary minicamp next week, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports.
Analysis: Borgonzi didn't mention if Ward has resumed throwing in individual workouts. The young quarterback suffered an AC joint sprain in his right shoulder during a Week 18 loss at Jacksonville, making an early exit from the final game of a brutal rookie season. Ward started all 17 games, but threw for just 3,169 yards and 15 touchdowns in an undermanned offense with subpar coaching. Ward's setup for 2026 looks at least somewhat better, with Brian Daboll taking over the Tennessee offense (under new HC Robert Saleh) and bringing WR Wan'Dale Robinson with him from the Giants. Ward may have limitations during the offseason program, but he has plenty of time to ramp up before the start of training camp in late July.
Matthew Golden
Matthew Golden Primed for larger role
Thu, Apr 16, 2026, 9:23 AM
Golden has a clear path to move up Green Bay's depth chart in the absence of Romeo Doubs (Patriots) and Dontayvion Wicks (Eagles), ESPN's Rob Demovsky reports.
Analysis: Green Bay's offseason moves leave Golden, Christian Watson and Jayden Reed without serious competition for the top three spots at wide receiver, pending results of the 2026 NFL Draft. Golden went 23rd overall in last year's draft, yet didn't score his first NFL touchdown until the playoffs. He had four straight games with at least three catches and 37 yards in Weeks 3-7, before averaging just 14.0 yards on 2.6 targets over his final eight appearances of the regular season (shoulder and wrist injuries contributed to the slump). Golden then put up 4-84-1 in a playoff loss at Chicago, restoring some hope for a Year 2 breakout. If nothing else, the Packers seem to be planning a major increase in playing time.
