If the player has no game scheduled between Monday - Thursday then that player will lock at 9 PM CT on Thursday night. Friday - Sunday is reserved for Midweek Bench Switches involving hitters only.

Modify Roster
To modify your roster, click the appropriate navigational link on the Contest website, login using your email address and password (if you haven't already done so), modify your starting lineup within the constraints of the salary cap, and your bench, as needed. Submit the modifications and record the confirmation number you receive for them.

There are 4 types of modifications:

(1) Free Agent Acquisition
A Free Agent Acquisition occurs when you add a new player to either your starting lineup or bench and drop a player from your roster. You may acquire any listed or unlisted player not on your current roster. Free Agent Acquisitions are limited to 16 per roster during the Contest and must involve players listed at the same position when you are dropping a player from your starting lineup. Free Agent Acquisition example: Acquire Michael Conforto, Drop TJ Friedl. Free Agent Acquisitions can be made for the Monday - Thursday slate of games, if a team(s) does not have a game between Monday - Thursday in a given week then the players from those teams will lock at 9 PM CT on Thursday night that week for Free Agent Acquisitions.

(2) Bench Switch
A bench switch occurs when you replace a player from your starting lineup with a player from your bench. Bench switches are Unlimited during the Contest and must involve players listed at the same position. Bench switch example: Start JT Realmuto, bench Wilson Contreras.

(3) Flex Shift

A mid-week bench switch occurs when you replace a hitter from your starting lineup with a hitter from your bench effective Friday - Sunday. You must make mid-week bench switches by Friday's deadline to be effective for games played Friday through Sunday each week during the Contest. In the event that one or more games begin before Friday's deadline, then those players will lock 5 minutes before their game. Note: mid-week bench switches are NOT effective for any games played before the Friday deadline. Mid-week bench switches are unlimited during the Contest. Listed Players
You can select listed players at any time before or during the Contest. Listed players can be selected for your starting lineup and bench effective immediately upon submitting your entry.

The NFBC will use the following position eligibility rules in 2025:

a) Players who played at least 20 games at any position in 2024 will qualify at that position for the entire 2025 NFBC season. Players who play 10 games at a new position in 2025 will be eligible at that position after they have played there for the 10th time during the 2025 MLB regular season. Any player who missed all of the previous season to injury or retirement will qualify at the position he last was eligible for in the majors. However, pitchers designated at SP or RP will remain ONLY at those positions in Diamond Challenge contests.

b) If a player did not appear in 20 games at any position, he qualifies at the one position he played most frequently the prior season in the majors. Designated Hitter is considered a position for these purposes (pinch-hitting is not). A player who only qualifies as a DH may only be assigned to the UT position. If a player's most games played at a position is less than 20 and tied among more than one position, the NFBC commissioner will assign eligibility at one position only based on prior year minor league games played.

c) Those players who only pinch-hit in the majors in 2024 will be position eligible according to their minor-league games played status in 2024. They would qualify at the position they played the most games in the minors.

d) Players who played all of 2024 in the minor leagues will be awarded position eligibility for the 2025 NFBC season based on the most games played at all levels in the minors for the previous year. NFBC will determine that one eligible position before Draft Day and that will determine that player's status for 2025 once he is called up to the majors. Those players who only pinch-hit or DH in the minors will only be UT-eligible.

e) The NFBC commissioner will rule on player eligibility prior to the draft as he deems necessary. Those eligibility lists are final and will be available to all owners prior to Draft Day.
Unlisted Players
You can select unlisted players at any time before or during the Contest. However, all unlisted players are assigned a default salary as follows:

All positions: $1,500,000

Unlisted players can be selected for your starting lineup and bench effective immediately upon submitting your entry. An unlisted player's position will be determined by NFBC, in its sole discretion.

To request that an unlisted player be added to the salary file in order to be selected, contact us through the website.
Salary Cap and Player Positions
The $60,000,000 salary cap, as well as the player salaries and player positions are assigned by NFBC.

Scoring Details
Using point-style scoring method, points are accumulated each stat week (consisting of games played Monday through Sunday) by all players in your starting lineup based on the following statistics.

* Fractional points are awarded for each partial inning pitched (1 out = 0.33 points)

Points are accumulated weekly for all starting players. With the exception of the first week of the contest which will run from March 18 - March 30th

All points accumulated by the players in your starting lineup, regardless of what position they actually play, contribute to your team's points total. Points scored by your bench, points by a player before being placed on your bench, as well as preseason and playoff points, do not contribute to your team's point totals.

Pitchers' hitting points do not count. Hitters' pitching points do not count.

To determine standings, all teams in the Contest and all teams in their respective leagues are sorted by point total. The team with the highest point total finishes first and the team with the lowest point total finishes last.

Preseason, All-Star game and post-season points do not contribute to your team's points totals. Statistics will be used from playoff games, if needed, to decide post-season teams, division winners, or seeding in the post-season.
