Valente Bellozo Solid in no-decision
Bellozo did not factor into the decision in an extra-innings win over the Twins on Thursday, allowing one run on six hits and one walk over five-plus innings while striking out two.
Analysis: Bellozo allowed at least one man to reach base in three of the first five innings but managed to work his way out of the jam on each occasion as the Marlins jumped out to a 4-0 lead. However, the Twins finally got to the right-hander in the sixth when Carlos Correa launched a solo homer to lead off the frame. Bellozo then got the hook after giving up a single to the next batter, marking the fourth consecutive start in which he has failed to make it through six innings. However, the 24-year-old also hasn't allowed more than three runs in any of his five starts this month, giving him a strong 2.67 ERA in September to go along with a 12:6 K:BB.
Valente Bellozo Picks up win
Bellozo (3-4) yielded three runs on seven hits and a walk over 5.1 innings Friday, striking out three and earning a win over Atlanta.
Analysis: Bellozo gave up one run through three frames before Orlando Arcia knocked a solo homer in the fourth inning. Ramon Laureano later belted a solo home run in the sixth. Bellozo has allowed 11 long balls in his last six starts, resulting in a 5.28 ERA during that span. For the year, he's sporting a 3.82 ERA with a 42:20 K:BB through 63.2 innings. Bellozo is currently in line to start in Toronto next week.
